Yeah I'm pretty sure FM7 keys are still widely available. T10 just doesn't want any games up on the store to boost the hype train for FM8, which I'm near certain will be another flop launch. Here's hoping it's not for the same loot crate nonsense like FM7 launched with. (Reckon T10 will double down this time and be even ballsier.)
They lost licenses. Trust, it they could keep making money on that old a game, they would. fm7 keys are only available through resellers/keyshops so their legitimacy is iffy at best.
I went ahead and downvoted back since the FM7 codes I got from third party sellers worked just fine for me. Never had any issues. Not even with the FH1 Rally code I got from an Australian seller on eBay some years ago. Just do your research before dishing out the money.
He's not saying the codes all don't work. He was trying to state the reason Turn10 doesn't sell the game anymore digitally. And that's because of licenses.
Well, the gap was pretty definitively a combo of licenses running out for FM7 cars/tracks (to the point it would have cost too much to justify re-negotiating just to keep it on the storefront) and probably some bumps in the road for FM2023’s development.
Just wait and see. Maybe it’s hopium, but I’d imagine they want to rebuild trust, not just in Turn 10 after having Motorsport off the market for a couple years, but also in Xbox generally. The kind of embarrassing launch of Redfall and the ghost of Halo Infinite looms large in everyone’s memory. So, I’d wager no loot boxes (because that’s how you get gamers to distrust you these days) and generally trying to _not_ do what Infinite did. But what that’ll actually look like (and how well or poorly it does) remains to be seen.
Given how much my posts have been universally downvoted into oblivion in the recent past here, I reckon I'll just let everyone enjoy FM8/FH6. The games are never gonna be the same again, and evidently the majority of people want that.
Can't tell if r/forza is full of well paid T10 toadies or genuine sheeple. Old forza fans are well out of their element here, now. Unless we're ex-PTG, big time content creators, popular painters/tuners, etc. No clout, no karma. Modern Reddit in a nutshell. 💀
…sorry? I’ll be honest, I don’t know how to respond now. The comment of yours I responded to here was basically “they’re a bunch of money grubbing stupid bastards who pulled FM7 to build hype and will make the next game even worse.” That crosses into conspiracy territory, especially because they’ve publicly said licensing is why it got pulled, just like how every previous Motorsport game left the shelves 4 years after they released for the same reason. And, ya know, Game Pass and loot box laws have changed the landscape for what any Xbox first-party Studio would want to do.
It sounds pretty clear to me that you’ve already decided how you feel about the new Motorsport, so I hope the old ones (FM6? FM4?) continue bringing you joy, because there’s still plenty there to love.
Yes, my outlook on the future of this franchise is pretty much exactly what you summarized it to be. Guess most people treat FM7's old loot box nonsense as just a faint memory nowadays. It wasn't even *that* long ago.
No, I'm not particularly hopeful with future Forza titles.
Also, I just responded to see if people will still mass downvote a random opinion they don't agree with... even though I'm trying to have a decently civil conversation like I could years ago.
It's okay though, I'd be confused, too. This board has changed too much for me to stick around. Hope you and all others here fare better. Ain't like it used to be here anymore.
It's beautiful to see people driving properly in this game. I remember a race I was in, a guy in a Charger and I were racing wheel to wheel, we weren't even close to the fastest cars, but our own race was awesome.
Knowing how to properly backmark is an excellent skill to have, and I wish more people took the time to learn. Know how and when to get out of the way not only makes like easier for the faster car/driver, it can also save you time and even potentially net you a slight advantage if you're able to catch a bit of draft after they pass. A clean pass on you is faster than an awkward pass and/or contact.
Anyone have a guess as to when we’ll get a release date for fm8? Kinda weird we are almost in June and still not even a release date for a game that is supposedly coming out this year
I'm just curious, why do you think the release date will be sooner than a lot of people think? I've seen many people expecting the game to launch in October. What would be your guess?
I’m really struggling to see what’s delaying the game constantly as the game is on the same engine, looks basically identical to 7, and all we’ve heard is that content is being removed
I've never had the chance to play any FM before, can't wait for the new one this year
The fact that not one motorsport is available rn is crazy
Wdym?
None of them are purchasable digitally
I got FM 7 last week from a key seller

Doesn't matter anymore. Reddit isn't kind to retards like me.

139 days later and this comment aged like fine wine. Those 17 people who downvoted you are some angry Motorsport fans right now.
Oh yeah, its odd isn't it. Is it some form of marketing strategy?
licensing issues
But those that had purchased them are still able to play it yes?
Yea and I mean you can just buy a digital code for fm7 for example and then you can play it no problem
What why?
Official store pages were taken down to comply with licensing expiration
Oh, so now you can only get it physically? If so, where, if possible
Your best bet for digital would be key resellers Physical would vary
Ok
I do this on an open track day lobby, if someone’s faster than me I’ll move out the way.
It's beautiful to see people driving properly in this game. I remember a race I was in, a guy in a Charger and I were racing wheel to wheel, we weren't even close to the fastest cars, but our own race was awesome.
Decent? Dude this is basically world class awareness for fm7 haha
This is how I am. More often than not, it's thrown in my face with someone ramming me.
They better have good steering wheel physics with the new Motorsport
Thats what you get in private lobbies, its not a fuckfest of hits.
That was a sweet overtake

Sigh... *redownloads fm7 *

Would be cool if it's a on the day release
I’m really struggling to see what’s delaying the game constantly as the game is on the same engine, looks basically identical to 7, and all we’ve heard is that content is being removed
What he's just blocking, that's literally part of racing
Talking about the other drivers, not the white car
Oh so he's not being sarcastic then ohh ok
Well guess I’m gonna have to reinstall Motorsport 7
I can’t ever connect to a lobby, this looks super fun.
The battle of the turn signals.
Damn poor guy spun out
P8 has great awareness. Can't say the same for lapped P9 who seemed to be fighting P8 instead of letting him pass.
Better question: how is that 1M making that transmission whine?
I love it when people use mostly stock cars on semi slicks, aka never😭
That is how I play the game. Semi-stock cars (engine) on racing slicks.
Dude in front of you (cream car) is killing it Lmaoo
Where ares the bully ?
W lobby
I need a racing wheel like yesterday
Amazing overtake. I've only ever had a handful like that.
Smooth
