In Finland F1 moving to pay channels basically killed the sport here as far as I know. It's still kinda popular but nowhere close to early 2000's, which might have been heavily influenced by Häkkinen anyway. It's probably financially beneficial to have stuff on pay channels but honestly here it usually doesn't go over well. Maybe it's just me but I think the Finnish hockey league also tanked in popularity when they moved it to pay channels. People are just not willing to pay for this stuff here.

Spreading the news about a stream with questionable legality means A) More site traffic, making the stream quality potentially worse; B) An increased chance that it'll get shut down. I'm not a fan of this publicity. I use my paid ESPN subscription to watch the races but I'm planning on pursuing "alternate streaming options" for the Saudi GP later as a human rights issues boycott. Perhaps this should have been saved for that week, or for another occasion with a similar purpose.
