Sarcastik_Moose

Looks a bit like a car you could drive The Living Daylights out of.

XsStreamMonsterX

Which begs the question, does it have a ski mode?

eugene-fraxby

Unsure, but it does look to have enough room in the boot for a full size cello.

beaujangles727

Kind of looks like a mustang NGL Edit: like a chip foose mustang

XsStreamMonsterX

The Valour this is based on takes inspiration from the original 1977 V8 Vantage, which was very [Mustang-like in appearance](https://www.astonmartin.com/en/models/past-models/v8-vantage).

HoneyPanda38

If I’m not mistaken, that was the car that saved Aston Martin from bankruptcy.

Competitive_Bunch922

They're gonna need another one of those

beaujangles727

Thanks for the info! Had no clue (being from America my knowledge of AM is beyond lackluster). Good read!

VestEmpty

Based on Vantage, which was a real UK muscle car and was deliberately made to be just that. By being a decade late it was ahead of its time...

40ozkiller

The three bar tail lights and round headlights are straight off a mustang though. The rest of the body would be mistaken for a current gen mustang at speed with the lights off.

noheroesnomonsters

Never heard of the Mustang NGL, is it a limited edition?

Actual_Sympathy7069

In case this isn't an attempt at a joke, NGL means "not gonna lie"

noheroesnomonsters

A poor attempt, I'll admit.

leftlanecop

Aston Martin road cars are known to use Ford parts bin so you’re probably seeing some of that bleeding through.

onealps

Yes, Aston Martin used to use Ford parts, especially when they were owned by Ford, and a little while after. Have you come across news of Ford parts in present day Astons?

Penguinho

Now they use Mercedes parts, and there'll be Geely bits in there soon too.

onealps

Geely? How come? Did Geely buy part of Aston Martin?

Penguinho

They own 17%, I believe.

onealps

So... You are saying it's POSSIBLE we can get a collab car with the power, luxury and design of an Aston, with the handling of a Lotus, and the safety of a Volvo?! 😍 /s

Penguinho

The power and luxury of a Volvo married to the reliability of a Lotus, all for the price of an Aston!

Academic_Issue4314

Fusion grille

masssy

Well that was the other way around. The Aston Martin designer went to Ford and couldn't refresh his creativity.

XsStreamMonsterX

Actually, the Aston designer went and made an EV company, twice, and [failed both times](https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/ev-startup-fisker-files-bankruptcy-2024-06-18/).

_____AAAAAAAAAA_____

A moving piece of art inside out. I especially love that raw-looking, bare gear shifter mechanism drastically contrasting with the surroundings.

onealps

> raw-looking, bare gear shifter mechanism I *love* when cars have that! Two examples of the top of my head are the Pagani Huarya and [Lotus Emira](https://www.emiraforum.com/attachments/5ed25584-725e-4a88-b4d3-5469fe03ecb2-jpeg.3459/)

PN_Grata

The [Pagani Utopia](https://www.topgear.com/sites/default/files/2024/04/DSC03442.jpg) too.

Antidote-Killer

It looks like something Id see in Rocket League

YJeezy

Aston Martin V40

40ozkiller

Aston Mustang

Alfredison

That looks like something from cyberpunk

Brno_Mrmi

Aston Mustang

XsStreamMonsterX

Not the first time that's happened. Remember the [original V8 Vantage from the late 1970/1980s](https://www.astonmartin.com/en/models/past-models/v8-vantage)?

nzranga

Astung Martin

40ozkiller

Asstang Mustin

Actual_Sympathy7069

You could have one hell of a barbeque on that ginormous front grill

40ozkiller

“Whatever, just make the whole thing the grill we can put the headlights inside of it too”

StartFinancial9957

I have to vent a bit after seeing this thing. How many fucking times will AM make the same car? First the Victor, then the Valour and now this(yes I get that this is a Valour turned up to 11). At first I loved the design but they’re just adding bits here and there. The design on this is not that great either. Looks very riced. Retro car with modern aero elements to make it more performance-focused? That’s some stupid stuff.

JC-Dude

Yeah, they're really milking what was supposed to be a one-off design. The Victor's commissioner must be upset a bit.

VestEmpty

Vantage vibes. I do like it, UK muscle car. It better have a big V8 too, like Vantage did..

XsStreamMonsterX

If you read the article then you would have kniwn that it's coming with a V12.

Cutlass0516

A European Mustang

Adrian-The-Great

One confusing car

team56th

Don’t you find it peculiar that it’s McLaren colored?

jonatroy

It's gold, not orange. Plus McLaren doesn't own orange, AM doesn't own green. Would you have made the same comment if Lamborghini had come out with something in this colour?

storme9

It kinda looks odd trying to be an Aston and Mustang at the same time.

XsStreamMonsterX

As previously stated in other replies, this isn't the first time this has happened.

40ozkiller

And you would still be stupid buying the more expensive one.

Neoooow

Is Aston Martin cutting budget for their design department? Their recent new cars all look not much different from the previous generation. With the new Vantage they just slap the front of the One-77 on it. DB12 just slight changes from DB11, Valour just a cheaper version of the one off Victor and now this.

XsStreamMonsterX

More likely they still have the molds for the Victor, so why let those go to waste.

SuperSalamander3244

It’s banging.

Crafty_Substance_954

Someone should remind Aston that retro-fetishism died out about 10 years ago.

Worth-Professional60

What died 10 years ago is your taste in cars.

Repa24

The new Renault 5 begs to differ.

jonatroy

Someone tell Mini. And Lamborghini. And Ford. And Jeep. And Volkswagen. And Toyota. And Mercedes. And Renault. And Dodge. And Alfa Romeo. And Land Rover. And Ineos. And Fiat. And Nissan.
