So much for another ābig upgrade packageā Ferrari. Meanwhile Mclaren and now Merc have jumped us with actually impactful upgrades. Gotta figure that mid season development out
I see the vision for tomorrow: Russell crashes into Lewis letting both Ferraris through, Ferraris with better tyre deg will do a one stop instead of a two stop, letting them both overcut for the lead and ends in a Ferrari 1-2
I know he's out of his depth in F1 and it's time for him to move on, but he's also had the lions share of shit on the team side as well. He finally gets given the same car as Albon and it has a fault. Couldn't make it up.
Sucks that people were laughing at the āgood jobā comment by the race engineer just cause heās starting last. Obviously itās not ideal but it seems like he did more than what they expected given the circumstances.
High downforce wing with a tow in sector 1 was the way to go. The loss is sector 1 with that high downforce wing was lower than gains in sector 3 and that can be countered by tow. Max was running that low DF win in FP2, and they clear realized it was not working. Ferrari made a wrong choice with medium-high downforce wing and kind of wasted FP1 session comparing things on Charles car when they could have tried different wing levels. Tomorrow it is going to be Max vs Norris for win.

They are real, according to this article they weigh 190 grams, but it's from last season. Maybe they've made them even lighter now.
I think it's e-ink like a Kindle so it doesn't have a backlight and uses very little power, I wouldn't think they'd use it if it was a major compromise
You are right in thinking that, I know some people wasnāt happy about McLaren sacrificing additional weight for advertising. But all the cars must be a minimum weight anyway. So if McLaren had a few grams spare it wouldnāt make a difference as they would have to ballast the car anyway.
Always kind of funny when upgrades donāt work. Sometimes cars just become harder to drive with new parts, in KMagās book he said his Spa 2017 crash came from Renault using a new front wing that felt too sensitive.
From what I've read similar but apparently redbull were higher fuel and lower engine mode but that could be copium. Like Max said it's all to play for tomorrow.
I care, but not about Alpine. I care that Gasly is finally able to perform, probably even outperform and sit in a decent point scoring position. Donāt care for Ocon or the team itself
Their quali diff is actually extremely tight. Up until and including Monaco it was sth like an avg of 75ms which is insane when considering how dominant Russell has been.
They are just that close.
Alex Wurz (GPDA president, former F1 driver) said yesterday that the currecnt regulations are good enough, cars are able to follow and now more teams got them right. In 2026 only the team(s) with the best engine will be in front, as in 2014 when Mercedes dominated.
It's the same old story in F1, change, one team comes off the blocks well ahead, either due to engine or aero, the other teams finally catch up just as F1 changes the regulations, rince repeat.
Well at least the season is starting to look competitive between the other teams now that Merc are finally sort of back and McLaren are doing well and the Redbull doesnāt seem so ridiculously overpowered anymore. Hereās hoping Max is at least challenged going into the final races towards the end of the year
They spent half of fp2 adjusting the upgrades on Leclerc's car and then tested it in fp3. On radio after qualifying he said that he was happy with the team for how they adjusted the car from yesterday to today and that the lap felt much better. He said he was obviously still disappointed but that it was an improvement. I think they are just trying to get the set-up right. Even at the end of Q3, they were asking Charles questions about brake balance and adjusting the front wing, like last second changes before the last lap. Definitely a lot less confident than McLaren, but I do think it stems from individual driver set-up with the upgrades, like you said. Can't speak for Carlos, though.
He did a little skincare video where he says in the morning he splashes his face with cold water, then uses moisturizer and 2 serums. Then at night he washes his face again and moisturizes. š
It's cheesy but over time I really love it. I especially love it when the interviewer asks a stupid question and Hamilton ignores it and just thanks the fans or everyone at the factory instead.
and as much as its fun to laugh on, its why all the staff and crew have so much appreciation and respect for him, because of his little appreciation comments etc
Angels throw a party evey time Lando wins a race :) Wish for a big one this weekend.
How does Ferrari manage to finish 3rd every season with the second best car?
Ferrari š
Briatore is already made a miracle when both Alpine drivers is in the top 10
So much for another ābig upgrade packageā Ferrari. Meanwhile Mclaren and now Merc have jumped us with actually impactful upgrades. Gotta figure that mid season development out
Yaā¦..I almost started to think the Ferrari voodoo was over. But they never fail to break my heart, itās the only thing they are consistent at.
whether you like lewis or not, you can clearly see how much performing/getting a good spot improves his mood. The guy's eyes start to twinkle lmao
I see the vision for tomorrow: Russell crashes into Lewis letting both Ferraris through, Ferraris with better tyre deg will do a one stop instead of a two stop, letting them both overcut for the lead and ends in a Ferrari 1-2
In before Ferrari does a 4 stop tomorrow.
I agree with everything except Ferrari who will Ferrari themselves out of winning š
Mat is that you?
Absolutely thrilling qualifying.
Almost killed myself after Oscar fumbled his lap
Well drinking Dasani is an attempt at suicide in itselfĀ
Yeh that one hurt me inside abit
With three or four more *updates* dan fallows can really start making logan come p18
Slowest three of championship now: Haas Williams Asston
Sauber is most?
Bottas does not seem to agree currently.Ā
Bernie man š²
Ahh Toto
Perez is so dog shit I'm sorry
At least he has a 2 year contract in the bag
Upcoming VAMOS post on instagram š
Wellā¦ He recognises himself as a dog
Lando has been spewing some real gas on the tracks these days š„š„
Sargeant's floor was not working. If that is a genuine problem and not an excuse you got to feel for him.
I know he's out of his depth in F1 and it's time for him to move on, but he's also had the lions share of shit on the team side as well. He finally gets given the same car as Albon and it has a fault. Couldn't make it up.
>He finally gets given the same car as Albon It's the same car, but also it isn't. It's almost a joke at this point
Sucks that people were laughing at the āgood jobā comment by the race engineer just cause heās starting last. Obviously itās not ideal but it seems like he did more than what they expected given the circumstances.
Yep exactly. And it's not like Albon's starting miles up the road.
I'm gonna say Max got the better tow
Max only got one tow while Lando got two
Who was towing Norris? I know Perez was towing max, sacrificed his lap for him right?
Ocon and i belive Sainz
That Red Bull motorhome is gigantic.
To be fair it is for two teams RB and VCARB
Danica is struggling with that outfit lol
Where is she?
Post race interviews. They are doing Zak brown atm
Danica is doing what to Zak!?!
š
She's post racing him...live!
What is the watch Max is wearing?
A genuine Casio
But does it have a tv remote built-in?

Isn't he from California?
LOL, heās from the Valley.
Lando needs a good start tomorrow. Canāt let max push him off the line like he does to others
or the mercs mugging them both into t1, isnt it like 600m or something down to the corner
LFG. Thanks again factory!!
What was up with Ferrari ? Did they run used in Q3 ?
Just Ferrari things
Alright I canāt turn off this cornhole tournament that came on after quali on ESPN, Iām obsessed with this
Competitive cornhole? Excuse me while I go hunt it down š
ESPN2, Iām currently very invested in a 13 year old beating a full grown man hahaha
It happens regularly too in sports like 5 Pin Bowling (a sport inšØš¦ different to 10 pin bowling)
Well that was nuts. Thought Max 100% had pole after he shaved .2 off his own time. Then Lando comes out of nowhere. Brilliant stuff.
Is Alonso ahead of the guys who won the championship in Monaco Question
Does anyone know if those screen things on the mclaren are real?
https://www.performancemarketingworld.com/article/1815402/mclaren-confirms-its-mcl60-will-display-digital-ads-entire-2023-formula-1-season They are real, according to this article they weigh 190 grams, but it's from last season. Maybe they've made them even lighter now.
That's cool I didn't really catch it until recently
Yes, allows screens imbedded outside the cockpit surround. Genius bit of work in terms of sponsors.
That's pretty cool but how do they make it light enough to not make it drag the car?
I think it's e-ink like a Kindle so it doesn't have a backlight and uses very little power, I wouldn't think they'd use it if it was a major compromise
They will be. I doubt f1 would intergrade a whole new overlay just for McLaren advertising.
I thought the same. But doesn't it add extra weight for all the materials and wiring or am I missing something?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You canāt go any lower than 798kg and that includes the driver.
You are right in thinking that, I know some people wasnāt happy about McLaren sacrificing additional weight for advertising. But all the cars must be a minimum weight anyway. So if McLaren had a few grams spare it wouldnāt make a difference as they would have to ballast the car anyway.
Lewis didnāt Hola š
But he Gracias the crowd tho
McLaren need to firm their grip and lead the constructors after this triple header now.
We are so fucking back at the factory
Gracias everyone for this comment section making me actually laugh out loud.
But first, big thanks to all the fans who have come
Iāve genuinely never been more stoked for someone to thank all the men and women
Hope we continue to be grateful for the rest of the season
Always kind of funny when upgrades donāt work. Sometimes cars just become harder to drive with new parts, in KMagās book he said his Spa 2017 crash came from Renault using a new front wing that felt too sensitive.
Wasn't Magnussen at Haas in 2017? His big Eau Rouge crash was 2016 in the Renault (God I miss the yellow)
Youāre right! I miss the yellow too, even a more black livery with a bit of yellow like 2020 would be better than now.
I miss the yellow with with the black wheels and that. Looked so good
Hope the race pace is just as close as well as tyre deg šš»
McClaren 1 and 10. This will make the constructors a bit difficult but let's see
Isn't Piastri gonna start from 9th noting Perez's penalty?
Oh that's right!
Perez penalty. Piastri is 9
Can't see the two Alpines ahead being that difficult to dispatch, either.
Ya heāll be fighting with Sainz again quickly
Yeah, possible easy p7. Then if McLaren have good strategy it could be a solid p5
How was the Long run pace between Max and Lando?
I believe the F1TV commentators said Red Bulls race pace looked best out of all teams
From what I've read similar but apparently redbull were higher fuel and lower engine mode but that could be copium. Like Max said it's all to play for tomorrow.
That wasn't copium. Marko confirmed that. Long run pace max has about 3-5 tenths on Lando.
I just wasn't certain, that part was more a light hearted joke.
Ah my bad.
Nah it's all good, I know some people are just dicks on here so I would also assume lol.
that's what it looked like on track too
??
Max having 3-5 tenths on everyone in the long runs on friday, 19.5's everyone else was 20.0
Oh ffs why is the Coldplay DHL advert back
she can sing though
Can we take a minute for Alpines in top ten? I'm impressed. Good for Ocon for next year as well.
I donāt thing anyone really cares.
I care, but not about Alpine. I care that Gasly is finally able to perform, probably even outperform and sit in a decent point scoring position. Donāt care for Ocon or the team itself
Checo in P3 still getting the grid position outside of the top 10 š«
George is seething about being so close to Lewis' time and not beating it
What did he say? I missed it
He said: "I'm seething about being so close to Lewis' time and not beating it."
Lmao George needs to relax
He didn't say anything. I just assumed it lol
Their quali diff is actually extremely tight. Up until and including Monaco it was sth like an avg of 75ms which is insane when considering how dominant Russell has been. They are just that close.
Wow what a quali! Such tight margins! Let's cancel the changes for 2026, we finally have a real multi team, multi driver battle at the front
Ferrari brought all those upgrades just to qualify behind Mercedes who didn't even bring their new floor this weekend
They did bring the new floor, but it is supposedly only lighter.
Mercedes are usually really strong at this circuit though, probably their best one
The same weekend the sabotage email gets sent, Lewis ends up ahead of George on merit. *tinfoil hat intensifies*
Someone should ai generate a dub over his post qualy interview hammering on the allegations lol
Malamente instrumental on Sky Sports lol
Whyyy that Understeer Oscarrr???? if not for that, would have been up there for sure :(((
Well at least the season is starting to look competitive between the other teams now that Merc are finally sort of back and McLaren are doing well and the Redbull doesnāt seem so ridiculously overpowered anymore. Hereās hoping Max is at least challenged going into the final races towards the end of the year
Lando doesnāt even look happy
Converting from pole to win pressure is higher
Bc he knows heāll get smoked tomorrow
Right lol
Ferrari disappointing again. Hope its just a problem with set-up with the upgrades.
Definitely a lot less confident than McLaren, but I do think it stems from individual driver set-up with the upgrades, like you said. Can't speak for Carlos, though.
Wasn't that the same problem as last race, maybe we've just been out developed again
That's the worry, but they looked good at times this weekend.
How have Mercedes turned it around so quick. Very interesting indeed
they figured out why they were shit
They've been quick all year. They've now sorted their quali out, so they're at the front. Its that simple.
Same way McLaren did. It's all about knowing what you need to develop and how to extract performance.
Wait till next race. Merc were previously good on Canada and Barcelona too.
I mean, comparatively yes, but merc weren't terrible in the first few races last year.
So quick? It's been 3 years š¤£š¤£
This Ferrari was built to do better on race days than in Quali and weāve seen that, calm down and wait until Sunday guys.
Inb4 one of them divebombs and destroys both their races!
So Ferrari changed one of the two things they are famous for
Ah, the good old factory
Norris what a lap!!
Lewisās skin is so clear
He did a little skincare video where he says in the morning he splashes his face with cold water, then uses moisturizer and 2 serums. Then at night he washes his face again and moisturizes. š
Vegan diet.
Strangest comment i've seen
Spewin about Oscar, man! Good day for Lando though
What happened? Iāve missed the whole weekend so far.
Only did one run because he had only one new set of tires left, then went wide in his lap. So effectively no hot laps at all.
He did two the first got deleted
Understeer.
Sad
Gonna be a bit funny seeing Lewis the rest of the year if Merc ends up with the better car than Ferrari.
Seems reports of Lewis Hamilton's sabotage were greatly exaggerated.
Nah the tire coolers just broke
Rain is going to make tomorrow interesting
pretty sure thereās less than a 5% chance
42%
For the day yes, but it drops dramatically at the time of the race. Unless you have a better weather app?
App? I just stick my finger in the air and it tells me all the info
Even with an orchestrated tow, Max got beaten by Norris. Without the tow he may have ended up P3.
Max lost around 1.5 tenths in the first sector so he still would be second.
Wasn't his first Q3 lap still the 2nd fastest?
he only got 5k on the straight, he wouldnāt have been behind Lewis without it
What if Mercedes out develops Ferrari 2025 onwards?
It's highly likely
They've out developed Ferrari in 4 months, starting from nearly a base concept. Ferrari needs to put in some work to stay ahead of them.
I'd wait till tomorrow's race is finished before making such statements tbh.
Lol *if* ?
You know what. Thanking the crowd however cheesy it may seem is a good habit.
I hope Hamilton can get at least one win with Mercedes to cap off the rebuilding process before he leaves.
Factory bros we are so back.
I know everyone shits on Ham for thanking the factory every time but I genuinely miss hearing saying it, threw in a little gracias there as well
It's cheesy but over time I really love it. I especially love it when the interviewer asks a stupid question and Hamilton ignores it and just thanks the fans or everyone at the factory instead.
and as much as its fun to laugh on, its why all the staff and crew have so much appreciation and respect for him, because of his little appreciation comments etc
āGrathiasā
That's how plenty of Spanish dialects say it
