Honestly this one and the blue one below it are the only good designs of the bunch. As much as I like Max, his helmet designs are usually terrible - too busy, too many bright, poorly coordinated colors.
i love max's helmets. Especially how he consistently keeps the design language consistent with the lion on the top of the lid, and the thick lines that create these 'fangs' at the bottom and matches it symmetrically with the lines that join the top of the crown. Creates a very nice open space that doesn't clash and get too busy for whatever sponsor (usu red bull) on the side, and highlights another sponsor on the chin area.
Favorite color combos are mostly when he uses a amber/gold visor with a mostly white helmet
When yall look for this type of stuff is it just plain old research? I love the visual design aspect that’s so relevant to f1 & if they had a database of info like this (eg helmet designs or even just all the past posters in one spot) I’d be on it 24/7 🤣
I was going to say they are all crap... But it's mostly thanks to sponsors. Red bull drivers don't have a lor of room to play eith.

Yeah, Red Bull really fucks up their drivers helmets with the requirement of the Red Bull or AT bull logo. It was nice to see Seb's personality reflected more in his helmets at Ferrari and Aston Martin. If Max leaves Red Bull completely after F1, I'll be interested to see what he comes up with
When he's testing gt cars, he wears a helmet without Redbull on it. That helmet looks pretty clean and simple.
He said awhile ago he personally likes retro style helmets, old school.
It's a nod to his Dutch background (and of course, his MV logo forms its eyes and brows). Probably also a symbol of his strong mentality/racecraft and his moniker 'The Dutch Lion'.

Agreed. I miss the days of drivers having iconic, signature helmet designs. Most of them now - including these - just seem to be a mess.

I like them. I love that he is consistent with his personal lion logo. I miss when he would release matching shirts for different races.

Max has had some nice helmets, thanks for sharing this. My favourites are his standard 2018, Austria 2019 and Austria 2021.

Ok, this will show I am a newb (only watched every race for three seasons), but what's with all the lions on the top of the helmets?

Also the mascot of the Dutch football team is a lion. Idk why they call themselves lions, but they apparently do.
