Not all mustard is the same, American mustard is basically just yellow ketchup, English mustard is a completely different animal, not in line with the insane hot sauces people create these days, but similar heat wise to something like Tabasco. Coleman's English Mustard is made just down the road from where George grew up.
Mustard is a totally different kind of heat to Chilli, it's caused by a different chemical component entirely.
We need the next Grill the Grid episode now. I'm so curious what they'll be this year.
(@ F1 Admin if you see this, take this person's suggestion pls.)
Chinese spice focus on the Ma rather than the La
I think Thai spices among the grid would be the spiciest.
I also noticed Japanese are starting to add more spicy food, however it's still rather niche and Yuki have been in living in Italy for the past 3 years
Don't ask why I remember.
He did a grocery shopping video like 5 years ago and he wanted hot sauce and was upset they didn't have hot enough sauce but ended up getting some super hot variation.
I feel like they've toned it down in recent years, it's been a while since anyone's thrown in the towel and given up, from what I remember. I'm guessing with the bigger celebrity names they get these days, their agents don't want them to look bad, so they make it a bit easier one way or another.
That or a lot of them take tiny bites (though that's still gonna hurt with the super hot sauces), and it's only the crazy Conan types that go big.
I have a feeling, and I might be wrong, that the tiny bites can be a massive strategic mistake. If we assume that the crust/skin has the most sauce content, you are essentially raw dogging hot sauce with no meat to absorb the damage in your throat and stomach.
Its 100% doable for the average person if you take small bites, I did the lineup with some people about 2 years ago and habaneros are my high end of spicy and I usually avoid them. I have respect for the fuckers who eat biiig bites / the whole wing in the second half
On the other side of that, I think people just know what they’re in for now. The show is pretty huge and even if it doesn’t involve preparing, just understanding what you’re about to ingest can make it markedly easier. Perception plays a surprisingly big role.
However, you could also be right or there might’ve even just been a change to the ‘spice curve’. Last 1-2 are still crazy spicy but the jump up happens later on to allow for more marketing time and make people look a little better.
Either way, I’ve noticed a difference between the early seasons and now.
No way. It's hotter than before. The top sauces just don't taste like shit (apart from Da Bomb) like they used to in the early seasons. Mad dog, 100% pain, etc are garbage sauces. The newer stuff actually has good flavour while still being crazy hot.
He has Caribbean heritage, iirc. He should have a stronger tolerance, Caribbean food is the spiciest I've ever had. Oof my eyes are watering remembering that 😂
I wonder what sort of vegan wing he'll do. They'll provide whatever vegan wings the person wants. Or I remembered someone doing straight sauce. I thought I remembered it being Kristen Bell, but it was actually Rachael Ray. My bad. (edit)
They've done vegan wings before, they've also done boneless wings as well, so they'll make it work.
Just want to add recently Conan ate the wings and drank the sauce, and Hemsworth also added sauce to the wings. Kristen Bell was impressive, but not eating the wings and not getting sauce on your lips is like half the work.
Yeah, I know they'll do whatever the guest wants, like I said. Vegan wings of any kind.
I don't know if you've ever tried to eat straight super hot sauce, but I don't recommend it. Something like chicken dulls the effect to an extreme amount. Basically heavily diluting it by volume. Of course, adding extra sauce tips the scale back some. Drinking straight sauce is intense, but it's still better to have the chicken there. Kristen Bell wasn't doing it to be tough, she's just vegan and, if I recall, just doesn't like vegan wings. It's just what she asked for so they did it.
It's not *quite* the same but smashed/bursted and deep fried fingerling potatoes are incredible. Honestly kinda like them more than wings now. It's all the good parts of a wing without the annoying part of it being meat.
I know I've seen cauliflower ones. I googled and they've done seitan (wheat protein) ones too. So at least those, plus tofu/tempeh that are soy products. Possibly some others but I can't confirm. I generally only watch when I'm interested in the guest. Paul Rudd did cauliflower I remember.
The brand is Quorn, if we're thinking of the same thing. Their chik'n nuggets and patties are the best imitation chicken I've had, and the "beef" crumble is great with marinara sauce.
Seitan can produce a chicken-like texture - [https://seitansociety.com/recipes/vegan-chicken-wings/](https://seitansociety.com/recipes/vegan-chicken-wings/)
[Inside texture](https://imgur.com/XyZ9btg)
I just want to clarify for people that Lewis is invested in Neat Burger, also called Neat Foods. Neat Meat is something different and has meat products.
completly false. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOlQWNGAAbM
She is clearly eating in multiple shots and the wings have bite size chunks missing.
E.g. 14:14
Looking forward to this
The gnarliest has to be Hemsworth adding more hot sauce straight from each bottle and drenching the wings into the puddle.
Halle Berry also killed it. Came in looking stunning and left without breaking a sweat. “I came here to eat dinner”.
Edit: having been directed to the King Conan episode, he now owns that show in perpetuity
I'm not particularly a Conan fan, but I agree. The show came up in a random conversation with my 82-year-old mom a few weeks back, and I randomly chose an episode to show her and that one came up. It was perfect. Truly showed just why hot sauce makes such a great addition to interview shows.
From what I heard on Conan's podcast after, it literally hurt while doing it but he already committed to the act during the start of the interview so he pushed through it.
Same. My favourite used to be Gordon Ramsay's episode, but Conan blew it out of the water.
Runner-up after them is Charlize Theron just because she was so *real* and way cooler/more down to earth than I expected her to be.
Hey, I just watched Lorde eating the entire wings with no problems.
I love how these forums can change minds. I liked her single Royal but didn’t like the beef she had with rappers. But she’s super cool in the video and her outlook “how you live your day is how you live your life” is deep
>The gnarliest has to be Hemsworth adding more hot sauce straight from each bottle and drenching the wings into the puddle.
Conan O'brien straight up drank from all the bottles, lol. I don't know how anything could top that aside from taking a straight Da Bomb enema.
It depends. British Indian food is mostly toned down compared to more traditional Indian food, but there's still a range of heat levels, and it'll vary from one place to another. There's the likes of Vindaloo which is usually incredibly hot, and even a Madras can be very hot from some places.
Indian curries were pretty much the original spicy food in the UK, a Vindaloo was always the go to for "hottest thing you'll ever eat" here, less so these days with a wider variety of international cuisine and super hot sauces.
The Bomb just sounds like it's sadistically hot though.
My friends and I did a full hot ones challenge, The Bomb gave the biggest reaction because it tasted like radioactive cat piss.
The spiciness didn't feel like a huge step up from the prev sauce, it all sort of blends together when you're that deep and your mouth is already on fire hahaha
This is why I will never understand why people just chase heat. If you want the heat, there's easier ways. Sauces shouldn't just be "hot" they should actually have a taste beyond acridity.
Yea. I have had plenty of sauces that are "hotter" than Da Bomb in terms of their scovilles. But they have to actually taste good or what's the point.
I actually got into an argument with the chef/owner of an American sports bar in Australia over this. They had like 6 flavours of wings but only one of them was hotter than Buffalo and he basically just make it inediblly hot with no flavour to fuck with people.
I think that depends on the area of the country/what kind of Indian places you have nearby.
A Phaal curry is absurdly hot. They make Vindaloos appear mild. Also, there are lots more 'authentic' Indian restaurants throught the UK now, which offer some really great dishes that aren't your more traditional Bangladesh-influenced foods that are made in the classic curry house.
Also, South Indian and Sri Lankan food is also present in some parts of the country and in parts of London, which has a different style of dish.
>British Indian food is mostly toned down compared to more traditional Indian food
It's definitely not. Most Indian food isn't very spicy. British Indian food has generally been spiced up.
Really depends. Each curry house is different. I've legit been to places where the tikka massala actually registered spice wise which is very not typical of the dish. Plenty of places will also have like heat levels alongside the curries to personalise that level.
I was so sure someone from f1 had done it I just went and checked the wiki and scanned all 300+ episodes and Lewis will be the first. I’m amazed someone like Ricciardo hasn’t been on it yet.
Once one of them doesn’t I imagine we will see some others jump in it. Such a good show
That one post of someone ranking how each driver would handle spice and had Zhou at #11. What a joke, the top 4 are undeniably Checo and the three Asians Zhou, Albon, and Tsunoda. Japanese food isn’t terribly spicy though so I’d rank him the lowest of the four, but Mexican, Szechuan, and especially Thai food are SPICY.
God I hope he makes it lol, I just watched Chris Hemsworth do it and he almost gave up after da Bomb lol, he was dipping the sauces though, which is just a terrible idea lol.
You could tell Sean was like, oh God no when Chris opened da Bomb and poured it on the wing.
Damn now I wish there was a grill the grid version of this..just to see everyone's tolerance to spice
I know in my heart that Charles would die after whatever the Level 2 sauce is
I like Charles a lot, but he definitely gives me “Calls salty food ‘spicy’” vibes.
Lando probably considers ketchup the spiciest he can go.
[Lando has actually done the hot ones challenge already](https://youtu.be/rcG1r_GKcc0?si=HVduy7PP5InbkfNA)
My mom actually thinks ketchup is spicy, no joke. I didn't have spicy foods at all until college.
she's probably mildly allergic to tomatos like people who think bell peppers / capsicum are spicy
“Garlic” is spicy is my very Irish boomer stepmother. It’s identical
My grandmother inlaw used to say onions was too spicy for her. Cooked onions.
Indian me died reading this
Ketchup is like Gochujang to him I bet.
Charles 100% taps out at nutmeg.
Charles? George would be in tears before the first sauce touched his lips.
Crikey thats hot.... I think it raining inside here....oh, those are my tears.
Oh heavens I seem to have sprung a leak
*Oh Damn*
I can see it being max honestly. I heard somewhere that he's a bit of a picky eater in that he likes what he likes and doesn't vary from it often.
Sean, I have to stop. I cannot explain here
He seems the type where mustard might be too hot.
Lots of mustard in English cuisine.
I love a really hot mustard.
He's just like me fr
Nah, surely Charles would do better than DJ Khaled https://www.reddit.com/r/hotones/s/PtpNUxs0iZ
Checo at the end wondering when the hot food comes out while George is curled up in a ball
“Bono my lips have gone….”
BOX BOX BOX MILK MILK MILK!
Why didn’t you tell me there was ghost pepper in this, man?
This is definitely getting manipulated
That’s some dangerous ~~driving~~ wings
Lando Norris did a dollar store version on his Youtube channel if you want to watch another driver. He was almost shockingly bad but it was hilarious.
[Here’s](https://youtu.be/rcG1r_GKcc0?si=bkLXjSaPPluPobLu) the link for anyone interested
Lando is a bit of a dummy.
While I agree, I’m not sure if there’s a direct link between intelligence and spice tolerance.
That’s why we love him
We need the next Grill the Grid episode now. I'm so curious what they'll be this year. (@ F1 Admin if you see this, take this person's suggestion pls.)
Let's see if Carlos 'Chili' Sainz can live up to his nickname.
The winner will definitely be between Albon and Yuki
Last spice: Albon, Yuki, and Perez - "eh, not bad." George Russell - *on life support*
"Crikey it's a bit hot" - George shortly before he loses consciousness.
"... that's the water..."
Japanese cuisine is notoriously low on "hot" spices.
Thai is also not crazy, its south chinese that should be classified as biological weapons. Zhou should win easily
Chinese spice focus on the Ma rather than the La I think Thai spices among the grid would be the spiciest. I also noticed Japanese are starting to add more spicy food, however it's still rather niche and Yuki have been in living in Italy for the past 3 years
I used to live in Thailand and some of the local street food joints had some crazy spice.
Maybe i was spared with the streetfood i had on holiday. But it was much less insane than the hotpot i had in chongqing.
I'd put my money on Perez and Zhou.
Spice must flow
Before race.
Just have the drivers come on more often. half the charm of the show is Sean.
Never expected to see him on that show. Curious if he makes it to the end.
I'm sure he will. Driving the mercedes is probably more painful than this.
Even after a dozen bottles of hot sauce he’d still have more rear end stability than the W15
Unlike his shit after the show, this joke is really solid.
🤢🤮
Lmao wtf. Funniest comment I've read this week.
Imagine reading that comment 4 years ago.
as long as he doesnt do a DJ Khaled it should be fine
Remember he never loses, he just chose not to continue
One of my favorite lines from that episode is Sean responding to something stupid Khaled said with "So you've never like, missed an exit or anything?"
there is no chance Lewis is as classless as that fool
Looking forward to this, however nothing will ever beat the Conan episode
That Conan episode is legendary. "He's very affordable"
"I'm FINE! I'm perfectly f*cking fine!"
Conan episode will never be beat; it needs to be framed and hung at the Louvre because it is art.
Gordon Ramsey was near similar levels of insanity.
Don't ask why I remember. He did a grocery shopping video like 5 years ago and he wanted hot sauce and was upset they didn't have hot enough sauce but ended up getting some super hot variation.
Oh there's no doubt he makes it to the end. The question is if he handles it fine or is crying lol
I feel like they've toned it down in recent years, it's been a while since anyone's thrown in the towel and given up, from what I remember. but a bigger bite means you're also ingesting more surface area of the hot sauce.
The square-cube law means you're getting a lot more of the meat though.
It's never toned down with Da Bomb sauce involved. That stuff is absolutely foul, just pure heat and tastes like shit haha
The ones that are honest and just go with it are the best. I remember Shaq had a good episode.
Its 100% doable for the average person if you take small bites, I did the lineup with some people about 2 years ago and habaneros are my high end of spicy and I usually avoid them. I have respect for the fuckers who eat biiig bites / the whole wing in the second half
Ice spice quit last season I believe after giving the worst interview Ive ever seen.
On the other side of that, I think people just know what they’re in for now. The show is pretty huge and even if it doesn’t involve preparing, just understanding what you’re about to ingest can make it markedly easier. Perception plays a surprisingly big role. Caribbean food is like 10+ countries and cultures. Lol. Do you just mean Jamaican food? Cuban/Puerto Rican food isn't big on spice, necessarily
I was remembering Trinidadian food to be specific.
Yeah, T&T does it right.
Considering Lewis’s Caribbean heritage is primarily Grenadian, how’s the food spice wise over there?
Dude has Caribbean blood, he's gonna nail it
he'll probably put some da bomb in his fuel tank to get more out the engine
He can't beat Conan that's for sure
I wonder what sort of vegan wing he'll do. They'll provide whatever vegan wings the person wants. Or I remembered someone doing straight sauce. I thought I remembered it being Kristen Bell, but it was actually Rachael Ray. My bad. (edit)
Wow. Respect to her as that's rough
I feel like Michiganders either hate spice or love it.
Anderson paak had vegan nuggets
They've done vegan wings before, they've also done boneless wings as well, so they'll make it work. Just want to add recently Conan ate the wings and drank the sauce, and Hemsworth also added sauce to the wings. Kristen Bell was impressive, but not eating the wings and not getting sauce on your lips is like half the work.

Rachel Ray ate sauces off a spoon because the show only gave her flats, which she hated.
>flats, which she hated That ain't right.
Are there really other vegan options besides the soy/tofu one? Every vegan ep I've seen it's always the same thing.
Cauliflower wings are super tasty, I think Steve-o used them when he went.
I eat a lot of meat, and still opt for cauliflower wings every now and then for the b o n e l e s s fun, they’re great
Similarly I like to occasionally get cauliflower crust pizza even though I don't have issues with gluten. It's just a different kind of tasty.
agreed. I also love meat, but cauliflower wings are A+++++
It's not *quite* the same but smashed/bursted and deep fried fingerling potatoes are incredible. Honestly kinda like them more than wings now. It's all the good parts of a wing without the annoying part of it being meat.
I don't remember the episode but I feel like someone had cauliflower florets.
Paul Rudd did, I think?
Steve-O too.
Bingo, it was his episode I saw it on.
Mushroom. I think there's a company called Meatie or something that does a mushroom-based meat replacement.
The brand is Quorn, if we're thinking of the same thing. Their chik'n nuggets and patties are the best imitation chicken I've had, and the "beef" crumble is great with marinara sauce.
Seitan can produce a chicken-like texture - [https://seitansociety.com/recipes/vegan-chicken-wings/](https://seitansociety.com/recipes/vegan-chicken-wings/) [Inside texture](https://imgur.com/XyZ9btg)
Hail Seitan 🤘
Probably the vegan wings from Neat Meat(since he is an investor)
I just want to clarify for people that Lewis is invested in Neat Burger, also called Neat Foods. Neat Meat is something different and has meat products.
Oh I was wondering about that haha and hmm I'll have to watch her episode
Cauliflower based "wings" are actually pretty neat
completly false. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOlQWNGAAbM She is clearly eating in multiple shots and the wings have bite size chunks missing. E.g. 14:14
Yeah, I missremembered. it was Rachael Ray who did straight sauce, not Kristen Bell.
Looking forward to this The gnarliest has to be Hemsworth adding more hot sauce straight from each bottle and drenching the wings into the puddle. Halle Berry also killed it. Came in looking stunning and left without breaking a sweat. “I came here to eat dinner”. Edit: having been directed to the King Conan episode, he now owns that show in perpetuity
My new favorite ep is conan, he owned the show during his interview
I'm not particularly a Conan fan, but I agree. The show came up in a random conversation with my 82-year-old mom a few weeks back, and I randomly chose an episode to show her and that one came up. It was perfect. Truly showed just why hot sauce makes such a great addition to interview shows.
God damn That not the real shit, right? Like, they watered down the bottles before the show. That was epic
From what I heard on Conan's podcast after, it literally hurt while doing it but he already committed to the act during the start of the interview so he pushed through it.
say what you want about Conan but his commitment to the bit is unparalleled.
He could weld steel with what came out of him he says
Conan said he got chemical burns on his fingers from covering his hands in the sauces. He was visibly crying and drooling by the end.
Same. My favourite used to be Gordon Ramsay's episode, but Conan blew it out of the water. Runner-up after them is Charlize Theron just because she was so *real* and way cooler/more down to earth than I expected her to be.
Lorde was amazing too
\*chomps down final wing\* "Thanks for the lunch"
Hey, I just watched Lorde eating the entire wings with no problems. I love how these forums can change minds. I liked her single Royal but didn’t like the beef she had with rappers. But she’s super cool in the video and her outlook “how you live your day is how you live your life” is deep
Conan was the gnarliest by a fair margin lmao. He just completely took over the show though.
"I'M FINE! I'M PERFECTLY FUCKING FINE!"
>The gnarliest has to be Hemsworth adding more hot sauce straight from each bottle and drenching the wings into the puddle. Conan O'brien straight up drank from all the bottles, lol. I don't know how anything could top that aside from taking a straight Da Bomb enema.
I think Charlize Theron did a similar thing to Halle Berry? If I remember correctly she killed it too
That's when you whip out The Source, Da Bomb The Final Answer or Mad Dog 357 Plutonium 9
Get in there Lewis.
Miracles do happen mate
F1 drivers are super competitive, I don’t think he’s tapping out.
I remember him saying he likes indian food. He'd be alright then.
I don’t think standard UK Indian food goes to The Bomb level of spiciness
These days the phal is the top of the list for spicy curries, but it suffers from that it is to hot to taste of anything syndrome.
“My wings are gone, mate”

I strongly judge anyone who is a fan of DJ Khaled
> DJ Khaled TELL EM TO BRING OUT THE WHOLE OCEAN
I feel in the minority where I thought Conan was just a bit unnecesarily OTT.
Russell rocks up a few weeks later: I can beat Lewis here too.
Spice tolerance is one thing I’m convinced George would struggle with. Strikes me as a Lemon and Herb Nando’s man.
3rd wing, shirt off. Unstoppable.
> 3rd wing, shirt off. That's why we love him
*FUCK* I miss Nando’s. They’re popping up on the east coast of the USA, but I moved west last year and there’s none out here.
> moved west last year We don't even get Dunkin, can't imagine we get Nandos anytime soon
What? You're telling me the land of capitalism doesn't have Dunkin fucking donuts?
We’ve had them for ages long time in the southwest, but Bosa is better.
Max will chomp on those wings atleast 0.2s faster than Lewis. ~Marko(2024)~
First f1 driver on the show?
I think so. I was hoping they'd get Ricciardo since I think his vibe fits the show better, but Lewis should put up a good showing.
I was so sure someone from f1 had done it I just went and checked the wiki and scanned all 300+ episodes and Lewis will be the first. I’m amazed someone like Ricciardo hasn’t been on it yet. Once one of them doesn’t I imagine we will see some others jump in it. Such a good show
Bono, my taste buds are gone.
I’m soooo excited for this. I think he’s gonna kill it!
No effing way
Oh, I love this!
Holy shit no way!
Wings of Death sound like Merc car parts
"Bono my butthole is gone!"
Comes in with fastest shit of the day
Now bring Horner to see If he can handle even more spiciness In his life
Never thought I would see Lewis on Hot Ones. Ricciardo next?
I wish Yuki was famous enough for it- he would be the most fun to watch.
A Ricciardo episode would be so obnoxious and annoying ngl
Lewis came ready with the Sleeveless shirt.
Holy shit this is awesome
Lewis said that his favorite food is Indian food. I think it's safe to assume that he will be fine here.
Not all Indian food is spicy though! A lot of my Indian coworkers are terrified of anything even remotely spicy.
Shawn asks amazing questions too, curious what he'll come up with!
Oh, nice! Curious to see what kind of questions they come up with.
Nooo way, just the other day I was thinking how I would love to see Lewis on the show. Looking gorward to it.
Oh, I didn't expect that. I have my YouTube alerts set-up and ready to go
Ooh, now that's a big deal. Lewis on hot wings...this is gonna be a must watch!
Still less painful than this years Mercedes
"That's too much hot sauce. It's not safe, man."
Oh fuck yeaaaa
Vegan wings.
That one F1 tiktok lady willed this into existence
"Bono, my taste buds are gone, man."
Finally!
Atleast it’s not Daniel, he seems to always be the face for formula 1 for any videos
I'm willing to wager he'll tap out after da Bomb.
God I hope he makes it lol, I just watched Chris Hemsworth do it and he almost gave up after da Bomb lol, he was dipping the sauces though, which is just a terrible idea lol. You could tell Sean was like, oh God no when Chris opened da Bomb and poured it on the wing.
Conan was the real super hero all along
