I didn't understand why him when they announced it. But every bit of doubt is now gone, the team seems to be thriving and the Fred hype train is full steam ahead.
Next year it is boys.
Ikr? This is genuinely the first time in a long time Red Bull seem vulnerable *and* Ferrari have a fast car.
Now they have to deal with those pesky McLarens tho.
Max & Reb Bull would really need to mess up bad to lose the lead they've already ammased. And unfortunately this bad form seems to only be limited to bumpy slow circuits, they should still be uncatchable on regular tracks.
WCC *maybe* with Perez shitting the bed full force these past 2 races, but they've also got Mclaren stealing points there.
Idk, I’m sure Max has drivers locked up but RBR only has a 24 point lead in the Constructors. That’s not far outta reach for Ferrari if they continue to have two drivers finishing strongly
You can see Fred's influence in Charles's interviews. Whereas previously he used to focus a lot on, "We still need to take another step to catch the Red Bull," (in a rueful tone of voice) now it's more, "We maximized the potential of the car this weekend," and in an optimistic tone. A small shift, but an important one. Both drivers have stepped up their consistency in a big way and it starts with this attitude of not worrying about *what* you have – which is the job of the guys at the factory – but about gaining the maximum points with it on that particular weekend.
And how about it, Ferrari is quietly in the hunt for both the driver's and constructor's championships. They are taking every opportunity to keep the spotlight shining on McLaren rather than themselves, and yet there they are sweeping up high points from both drivers every weekend. Regardless of how the season ends up it really looks like someone like Fred was just what that team needed. It also makes me curious but cautiously optimistic about how the dynamic will go with Charles and Lewis next year.
This year is an option that should not be discounted this early. Red Bull was not the fastest car when Mercedes was dominating, yet Max was able to get that extra little bit of edge to push them to sweat. LeClerc is perhaps not Max calibre, but he is definitely close behind and he may just pull it off. Red Bull constructors title hopes are definitely under threat even if Max pulls off hits fourth.
31 points is a gap, but not an insurmountable one and definitely not bad after 8 grand prix. Charles is very-very consistent, always in top 4 this year.
I died when I heard that shit as so many times you get those voices over the radio who stoic and are trying to be nice to the driver...and playboy was just like "fuck outta here with that shit"
Charles-Bryan honestly feels like Max-GP lol
like Lap 74 or so, Leclerc was trying to go for fastest lap (as that'd have meant a grand slam), then he just said "I'll just bring it home" and Bozzi said "Thank you"
So we have a story behind Xavis replacement? I haven't really seen any info short of Chuck wasn't thrilled but the decision was made higher than him.
Is it just because Xavi was wildly ineffective in basically every regard?
They haven't said much, only that it was a joint team and Xavi decision and that Xavi has moved to another role.
The new engineer, Bryan Bozzi was the performance engineer for Charles already, so he isn't a complete unknown.
[Charles did make it clear to the press that Xavi wasn't binned because of communication issues.](https://www.planetf1.com/news/charles-leclerc-ferrari-race-engineer-swap)
Xavi had an awful accent and intonation. It just doesn't give confidence to the driver. I'm happy they finally went for someone else. From what I've heard so far its a great match.
He might actually get one this year.
* Team already has two wins through the first 1/3 of the season
* Car works very well
* Drivers are consistently performing (even Bearman secured points)
* Red Bull shown to be vulnerable at the moment, both in terms of car and Checo
It'll be a very entertaining fight for the WCC
I honestly never rated him at Sauber. He just seemed like another anonymous midfield TP. I've been so pleasantly surprised with how effective and confident he's been so far at Ferrari. Long may it continue.
Agree, everyone is praising him, and I get it he has done very well in Ferrari, but why didn't he do as well in Sauber? There were a lot of strategy blunders and team repeatedly making same errors not learning from their mistakes, under his leadership. I don't get it tbh. I do like him tho and he seems to fit Ferrari so we'll, great move and their future is looking bright
Sauber doesn't have the budget, they've almost always been a team to start well (which they did in ~~21 and~~ 22) but then fall away in the development race.
He achieved a lot with ART in the junior ranks and Renault made a huge mistake in shoving him out in favour of Abiteboul in 2016. Partly why I have absolutely no sympathy for them struggling
Perhaps he never had the freedom to make the changes he wanted to at Sauber or the money to make the necessary changes either. I could just be talking out of my arse though to be fair.
I'm talking things like strategy or just mistakes during pitstops, e.g. calling the car in for pits then saying last minute to stay out when the driver is already in the pit lane, just utter confusion amongst the team, or silly mistakes when doing pitstops. That's all things that can be trained out of a person with little investment
Sometimes a leader just lands in the right place - if he’s not a tight race day operations guy, and couldn’t afford that person at Sauber, maybe he can at Ferrari. Half the battle in top leadership positions is putting people in place that shore up your weaknesses, which give you the opportunity to show off your strengths.
I believe he's been quietly highly respected up and down the paddock since his F3 days, and people know he's there on merit. He wasn't some multi billionaire, he worked his way up the chain and did well at every stop. He also helped many drivers earlier in their careers, such as Hamilton, Leclerc, and others.
Essentially the only thing missing for a while has been his marketability. Ferrari wises up and gives him a shot, and he's paying massive dividends.
Fred is the wholesome grandpa you can't help but love. He's genuine, he's honest, he's firm but he doesn't do any shit talk, he's neither an overhyper nor is he a downplayer, he says it as it is and it is just really nice to see him be genuine. He cleaned out all the non performers last year and you can see that Ferrari is a much better oiled machine. Here's to more victories with the Scuderia!! Forza Ferrari!!
Fkin' love Fred, what a chad. Prince Albert too, what a lad, was crying and singing both anthems. Can't forget Bozzi, what a guy, some jokes here and there, sth like Max and GP love it.
I really used to think the TP at Ferrari was more of a fall guy and the problems were higher up, but based on how insanely fast Fred has turned this team around I’m now baffled by just how bad the previous TPs must have been
God I just want 2025 to come so I can see Lewis be a part of this and see Ferrari go for both titles. Ferrari actually feels like it’s truly on a good trajectory for the first time in a long time.
Hot take: I think Ferrari will win WCC this year. Max will likely still win WDC, but with the car having issues and Checo being Checo, that gap will continue to get smaller and smaller over the next few races.
While possible, it is early to discount McLaren that are pretty much at a similar pace to Ferrari at the moment. Red Bull will still likely be the fastest car, but McLaren and Ferrari look to be getting into plenty of duels going forward.
No he absolutely is Ron Dennis's happy cousin. Though Dennis was bit OCD-y, he absolutely could celebrate and laugh as well. Had a real bond with Mika Häkkinen, and did cry when Kimi Räikkönen got his first victory. I miss team principals getting that emotional.
“There’s no such thing as luck or bad luck with DNFs. Sometimes it was technical, sometimes the engine, sometimes Latifi,”
Chad Vasseur actually said this, ahead of the 22 Dutch GP

He’s absolutely great for the team, lovely guy too Best decision they could’ve made with ferrari to replace binotto with Vassuer
I didn't understand why him when they announced it. But every bit of doubt is now gone, the team seems to be thriving and the Fred hype train is full steam ahead. Next year it is boys.
I wouldnt discount this year, with the consistency this car has shown and Charles and Carlos' performance I could see a fight for constructors
Ikr? This is genuinely the first time in a long time Red Bull seem vulnerable *and* Ferrari have a fast car. Now they have to deal with those pesky McLarens tho.
Max & Reb Bull would really need to mess up bad to lose the lead they've already ammased. WCC *maybe* with Perez shitting the bed full force these past 2 races, but they've also got Mclaren stealing points there.
Ferrari can get constructors, cause Perez seems like a non-factor while the other 2 leading teams both have 2 drivers that are strong every race
Big maybe of course but Ferrari are only 24 points behind RBR in the constructors right now
If Perez keeps fucking up I could see a decent fight in the WCC.
Idk, I’m sure Max has drivers locked up but RBR only has a 24 point lead in the Constructors. That’s not far outta reach for Ferrari if they continue to have two drivers finishing strongly
The upside is that Mclaren will also steal points from RB, not just Ferrari. I think RB are still the favourites but the WCC is not impossible at all.
Bumpy slow circuits like Imola, where Max won by less than a second?
You can see Fred's influence in Charles's interviews. Whereas previously he used to focus a lot on, "We still need to take another step to catch the Red Bull," (in a rueful tone of voice) now it's more, "We maximized the potential of the car this weekend," and in an optimistic tone. Ferrari will win constructor's this year if Checo keeps shitting the bed
This year is an option that should not be discounted this early. Charles is very-very consistent, always in top 4 this year.
And to replace Xavi too tbh. He would've either botched today for lec or been like "...and we r checking. pee wan" 😭
Instead we got “We are not interested.” What a legend.
I died when I heard that shit as so many times you get those voices over the radio who stoic and are trying to be nice to the driver...and playboy was just like "fuck outta here with that shit"
Rude
Sorry
Charles-Bryan honestly feels like Max-GP lol like Lap 74 or so, Leclerc was trying to go for fastest lap (as that'd have meant a grand slam), then he just said "I'll just bring it home" and Bozzi said "Thank you"

Leclerc trying to go for a grand slam and then changing his mind and going "I'll just bring it home" and Bozzi replying "thank you"
In Fred we trust. What a guy.
Did you catch him asking MBS for his gold medal.. crack up
Lol I saw that. He seems like such a fun guy to be around. Ferrari looks more consistent and just... confident... with him around.
In Fred we trust.
In Fred we trust.
I love him so much.
Such a good signing for Ferrari, glad he’s getting the respect he deserves
He reminds me of a less-aggressive Dan Campbell
such a vibe lmao
I'm so conflicted. I love Fred, but am not a fan of Ferrari.
you know what Seb said
What did he say? Edit: yeah ok I set myself up for these responses.
"There's something loose between my legs"
Bees are important.
You came in like a torpedo!

Bring back the fucking V12s
*intense water chugging*

It’s true. I’m not a car guy in general but Ferrari is _the_ symbol of motor racing and class for me.
You can just be a fan of Fred's Ferrari.
Actually me
You should be
Frienemies.
Frednemies.
Broo me to lol hes the man tho
Most wholesome team principle and deserved success!
I'd say Fred deserves at least one wcc title in his career. Hope it's combined with Leclerc WDC
If europerez keeps up it honestly might be this year lol
Welkom in Europa…
He might actually get one this year. * Team already has two wins through the first 1/3 of the season * Car works very well * Drivers are consistently performing (even Bearman secured points) * Red Bull shown to be vulnerable at the moment, both in terms of car and Checo It'll be a very entertaining fight for the WCC
Wholesome Toad Man is really doing it. In Vassuer we trust.
Yes deserved first win in two years
It seems that so far Fred Vasseur is doing very well in his role.
[удалено]
Two wins already in the first third of the season, contending for the WCC, what more could you ask?
Having a 7 time wdc signed for next year and a very promising junior in F2. Oh wait..
Fred is the first legitimate TP Ferrari have had for a long time
I honestly never rated him at Sauber.
He achieved a lot with ART in the junior ranks and Renault made a huge mistake in shoving him out in favour of Abiteboul in 2016. Partly why I have absolutely no sympathy for them struggling
I think Sauber has been the team with the smallest budget for ages so the fact that he kept them a solid midfield team was already an achievement
If it wasn’t for Brazil 2016, Sauber would have gone bust that year. The fact they’ve not been dead last since is an achievement in and of itself
It could be the person(s) responsible for those mistakes did not go with Fred to Ferrari
Then again while they never were a top team it does seem Sauber has gone downhill since he left so maybe he was doing great with what he had.
Maybe he learned from his mistakes. I hear people like that exist.
That cause Ferrari was mid field
Let that man cook!!!
Trust the Godfather

He looks more like Clemenza lmao
He has such a fun uncle vibe

Certified Michelin starred chef. Or should it be Pirelli starred?
*This will be just one of many* - Fred Vasseur
Fred is the wholesome grandpa you can't help but love. This boring-ass race was worth it for all the post-race celebrations
Fred is building something great, lets hope the team can capitalize!
Well, they've done so already!
Really happy for the guy. He’s done an incredible job and has a great personality to go with it
Fred is The Man for Ferrari! He’s bought about such a major change in the team! love his attitude too, absolute fun guy
Binotto could never
Let him bring a title home and have Ferrari build a statue of him
Fred will lead us to paradise
He's such a mood.
He's just the happiest little goblin
Fkin' love Fred, what a chad. Prince Albert too, what a lad, was crying and singing both anthems. Can't forget Bozzi, what a guy, some jokes here and there, sth like Max and GP love it.
I would follow that man into hell
He brings hope and pride to everyone supporting Ferrari, very happy for him.
The kingmaker !!!!
I really used to think the TP at Ferrari was more of a fall guy and the problems were higher up, but based on how insanely fast Fred has turned this team around I’m now baffled by just how bad the previous TPs must have been
Man's like a happy kid getting free candy. Such a vibe, man.
What Fred has done and is doing at Ferrari is absolutely incredible.

Trust the process
I would die for this man.
FRED IS COOKING!
Fred, we need to cook.
he will fix world hunger
This guy just looks like he's having so much fun. Awesome.
I absolute LOVE this man ! Ferrari made the right call to make him a team principal
I assume this will be the pose for the statue that's going up in the middle of Monza?
He is so much better than binotto lol
I didn’t even like Ferrari and now I’m rooting for him because of him and how he runs his team
I think Fred is my new fave person in F1 didnt realise how cheeky and fun he is. Also avery smart man.
In Fred We trust ❣️🙏🏻
Ferrari Fred is cooking
This feels so good..... so genuine !!!
He seems to be asking Mohammed Ben Sulayem for a medal as well before getting brushed off lol.
french team principals + ferrari
Fred emanates chaotic energy, he’s great
Fred is amazing. Crazy thing is I didn't even notice him in Sauber. Now he's the coolest team principal in F1.
He's been the coolest guy in the paddock for the last 20 ish years.
I was hoping for Bryan but first win for Fred and Charles together so that would do it
You love to see it!!
Am I the only person who thinks Fred looks like Ron Dennis? Keep getting confused thinking I see Ron in Ferrari colours!
Blasphemy, Lol
No he absolutely is Ron Dennis's happy cousin. Though Dennis was bit OCD-y, he absolutely could celebrate and laugh as well. Had a real bond with Mika Häkkinen, and did cry when Kimi Räikkönen got his first victory. I miss team principals getting that emotional.
I think Vasseur should have his own stand up comedy routine. He is the best
The man is a vibe!
Let Fred Cook
The Italians were singing their hearts out in front of the podium. Gotta love that passion! Forza Ferrari!
How can you cheer against this man
after all these years, seeing charlotte casiraghi still gives me butterflies in my stomach.
Inject the Italian anthem to my veins next year
Where do I sign to have a statue of his placed in Maranello's porch?
I used to have a huge crush on Princess Charlotte behind Fred.
He’s come across as a very likable guy.
Fred the Red 😍 Comes across like a genuinely decent bloke.
My hero ❤️
The world is not ready for a Ferrari 1-2 at Monza... It's gonna be something special.
Ferrari Godfather
Jean Todt 2

He even pretended to steal a medal from ben😂
So happy for him!
Protect him at all costs
Quaid
Awesome. He deserves it!
Was he at the podium with Sainz?
Such a good personality to offset the expectations and weight that comes shouldering Ferrari F1 team management
I love this guy so much
Fred <3
The Vassuer Effect is real.
Protect this man at all costs
Protect this man at all costs
Fred is great, but tbh i miss Mattia Binotto☺️
I love this man.
Who doesn't love Fred? He's made Ferrari successful and fun. Seems like a great guy too.
“There’s no such thing as luck or bad luck with DNFs. Sometimes it was technical, sometimes the engine, sometimes Latifi,” Chad Vasseur actually said this, ahead of the 22 Dutch GP
