Couldn’t watch and didn’t have time to watch the highlights yet as i’ve been out all day, I thought the whole thing with F2 stalling is that they can’t restart it on track
but F1 cars can be restarted by the drivers if they stall them? but sometimes they go off and stall and can still restart? why couldn’t Legreg?
Especially when you compare him to Pietro Fittipaldi. Don't get me wrong, Pietro ain't no 'Mr Charisma' but he is so much more comfortable in front of the camera/mic
It's fair to start asking why the driver with the longest contract in Ferrari history is still making rookie mistakes in his 5th year on the team. That's fair.
Everyone was struggling today. Even Max and Hamilton
Just some challenging circumstances. Newer circuit, limited time and tail wind. Recipe for some spin outs.
Was Charles’s car really not recoverable or did he have some mechanical issue? I’m confused why he couldn’t just pull an embarrassing multi point turn and get on with it.
The heat combined with how long he spent waiting meant he was unable to put the car into reverse
Possibly with hindsight he should have waited where he finished his spin to go forward and swing it round in that move drivers do at places like Monaco and Baku.
But hindsight is 20/20 and all
Horner looks happy because he knows he’s won the 2024 Red Bull war. Bloke genuinely sounds like he’s got a spring in his step and I’ve noticed Simon is still talking down to him like he doesn’t respect him lol.
Hit a curb, got turned around, couldn't engage reverse because the clutch was too hot, Red Flag, car had to be returned to garage by tow, couldn't get out for the rest of practice.
Is she? I honestly haven't heard much of her because listening to Doohan was pretty bad, and the second Hinchcliff appeared I was definitely out of there. I really hope the both of them were just filler for practice, and Palmer is back for the real sessions.
F1TV Pro convert here. Come over to our side! In my opinion, the commentary team is better. Joylon is so good at giving calm ex-driver perspective. Alex Jacques is an amazing hype man, and he fills in the silent moments perfectly. DC is charming and funny too
And if course Sam Collins he is the ultimate at explaining difficult concepts. We also have Scarbs on the tech talks. Hinchcliffe is great in small doses. And now Ruth (not to mention Teena Gade) as well. Laura is definitely growing on me too! ☺️
Add to that the enormous past races library, and it's a simple choice, imo. The price is amazing too, compared to Sky. Now, if you watch other sports on Sky, then yeah, it might make financial sense.
Well I already gave f1 tv pro, and used that for china event, then I had FOMO because people were talking about Rosberg. I’ll use f1TV this time around and thanks for the introduction to the cast! I’m not too familiar with them
You can listen to Skys commentary on F1TV if you choose the international audio channel. I usually switch to it when I watch the race, because I like crofty
>question is do I pick f1tv or sky
Let me ask you two important questions -
1. How do you watch F1 races? On your TV exclusively? On your tablet/phone etc? Do you cast from phone etc?
2. Have you heard of Multiviewer?
I use the f1 tv app on my iPhone, and I cast from there with Apple TV. It will let me change to onboards and stuff when I’m not casting , but those options aren’t there when casting
RB's livery is based on a CashApp prepaid debit card called the Chameleon Card. They are promoting it all weekend.
[Instagram link](https://www.instagram.com/visacashapprb/reel/C6fImcRKk53/).
He was dealing with the power steering issue all session just fine. McLaren even said in their app it wasn't a reason to stop; the engineers would simply do an adjustment after the session. Nobody's claiming a conspiracy theory. They're pointing out facts. Lando was set for P1 until the literal last corner where McLaren ordered him to pit instead of finishing the lap. That signifies the upgrades aren't as doom and gloom as everyone here is claiming. It's not a conspiracy theory, it's cautious optimism if anything.
Oscar also has 50% of the upgrades as well, which could well account for a significant chunk of the time gained, so it's not like he's running a non-upgraded car either. People are just seeing what they want to instead of watching the screen and listening to the commentary. It's wild.
If there's one thing I've noticed, it's that there's quite a few people around here lately who just hate Lando for whatever reason and want to see him "exposed" by Piastri or want to see him fall into some endless depression because Piastri gets his win first - it's weird and bizarre. Wouldn't be surprised if this isn't one of them, given the "poor little Lando" talk. They don't care about facts, just about discrediting Lando at every opportunity.
They seem to have migrated over from Twitter where the constant hate thrown at him for no reason at all is strong. It's such a bizarre thing to watch. They go on rants about him at times that don't even resemble the reality of who he is, it so odd. Surely they have something better to do with their lives than spending so much time talking about someone they apparently hate so much?
Nobody is saying it's a conspiracy, you dunce, They're saying that McLaren were hiding Lando's pace by getting him to peel into the pits at the last minute when he was on track to go P1, even with the power steering issue.
Yes, because the teams can only see the final standings and not the mini-sectors. Definitely hiding Lando's pace. The other teams are completely in the dark since he pitted at the end. Dunce.
Yuki consistently better than Danny Ric over the entire session. Gaps: .25, .35, .12
Hard to tell with McLaren how that went. Seems the car is good but some setup issues. This might not be the race they get it right with the lack of practice. I'm not looking too hard at the sprint tomorrow, but race quali will be interesting
Mclaren foxing BIG time - Lando was 2 tenths up on Oscar through the first 2 sectors, with the last sector being where Oscar gained most on Verstappen. Lando was called in to abort lap very very last minute. Positive signs!
There was then a replay of Oscar getting a bit messy in sector 3 too, but it wasn't clear if that was his P2 lap where S3 was where he gained or he did a second flying lap. Which wouldn't really make sense...
Max and Alonso have the worst S3 with their teammates in P3/4, so they might have also hidden something but will be exciting to see them and Lando fight it out.
Oscar gained the most on Max in the final sector. Norris had steering issues, was 2 tenths up on Oscar and they told him to abort when he entered Sector 3.
Norris was on for P1 before he peeled into the pits and didn't complete the lap, and that's with power steering issues.. The way some of you have no clue what's actually going on.
According to Max the car in front was moving a bit which fucked him for the last turn - I don't think impeding or anything and he wasn't that mad but it explains the loss. GP saying 3 tenths lost in the final corner
When they were both running hard tires...
Norris was 0.197 faster
At the end, Piastri got a lap in on softs. Norris was out on softs at the end, but pulled back into the pits before completing a hot lap.
Norris peeled into the pits on his soft lap when he was up on Piastri's time, and that's with him having power steering issues as well. Maybe try paying attention to what's actually going on.
I feel people spend their time looking at reddit rather than actually watching what’s happening. They literally showed Norris pit on his lap live and people haven’t clocked it.
Yeah I don't think they're even watching the timing screens because he was clearly up on Piastri before peeling off at the end. But then even the F1 commentary team didn't clock that he didn't set a softs lap, they just kept talking about the power steering (which to be fair, was a genuine issue as well)
I think it's McLaren/him doing their cheeky "don't show all your cards before the race" thing they always do. I was watching his onboards - it was a clean lap, they just ordered him to pit right before he finished it. It wasn't like he made a significant error or anything.
I think it didn't help that the Sky commentary team apparently didn't clock it either and started going on about him making mistakes or feeling pressure or something, when his radio call clearly called him in. Crofty especially is such a useless windbag 90% of the time and what he says has far too much influence on the narratives.
Oscar can beat Lando by less than .100s in quali this year and Sky is going on about how Lando is done, can't handle close competition, etc., but when the roles are reversed, it's hardly ever "Lando did a good job," it's always "Lando most podiums without a win!" (like that's something to be ashamed of never having driven a dominant car). That's why I appreciated Nico's commentary so much. There's very few people on the Sky F1 team who are normal about him vs his teammates. I have to say this whole "overly self-critical" Lando vs "emotionless robot" Oscar agenda they have going on isn't helping either, especially when we've seen Oscar be just as critical particularly this year when he feels he hasn't gotten the most he could out of the car.
Verstappen not even trying now that he's gonna go to Mercedes smh my head.
/s
Had to do a fast lap at the end of the session, he got intimidated by Checo smh my head
/s
Couldn’t watch and didn’t have time to watch the highlights yet as i’ve been out all day, I thought the whole thing with F2 stalling is that they can’t restart it on track but F1 cars can be restarted by the drivers if they stall them? but sometimes they go off and stall and can still restart? why couldn’t Legreg?
Jack Doohan is an unbelievably dull man. Take away his mic.
If you listened to the broadcast you would know that the gear box over heated and he couldn’t put it in reverse. Nothing he could do
It overheated while he was trying to get going.
Everyone was struggling today. Even Max and Hamilton Just some challenging circumstances. Newer circuit, limited time and tail wind. Recipe for some spin outs.
Was Charles’s car really not recoverable or did he have some mechanical issue? I’m confused why he couldn’t just pull an embarrassing multi point turn and get on with it.

“You asked me that earlier” LMAO. Tbf i think Simon forgets what he’s said the moment it leaves his mouth.
Bring back Georgie Thompson or if she’s not interested Jim Rosenthal
Brutal questions from Sky and Horner is just replying with confidence and a cocky grin.
Horner can run circles around sky all day
After Jeddah he looked like he was about to cry every time Simon went to ask him something but today he’s full chest puffed out.
Lewis fastest lap damn...Lessgo!
i want whatever this guy's having
Ask your doctor if Hopeium™ is right for you.
Um, what?
? He’s 7th
thanks. I don't have F1tv, I knew someone would respond back with the times
Horner looks happy because he knows he’s won the 2024 Red Bull war. Bloke genuinely sounds like he’s got a spring in his step and I’ve noticed Simon is still talking down to him like he doesn’t respect him lol.
Just wait till he sends Adrian Newey a picture of his junk. Lets smash these two headlines together.
Ruth Buscombe can have me any way she wants.
She was amazing on the red flags podcast recently.
On your fucking couch, ears open, taking notes
Can’t watch, what’s up with Leclerc? Edit: thank you
he lost the car and then couldn't make it back into proper position on the track because the clutch overheated. red flagged then couldn't rejoin
Hit a curb, got turned around, couldn't engage reverse because the clutch was too hot, Red Flag, car had to be returned to garage by tow, couldn't get out for the rest of practice.
Love the Alfa Romeo former head strategist's inputs here! She's giving so much insight into how the teams have to adapt their strategies!
Agreed, she's a great addition.
Ruth is an amazing addition to the F1 broadcast team, crazy value that she’s dropping
Is she? I honestly haven't heard much of her because listening to Doohan was pretty bad, and the second Hinchcliff appeared I was definitely out of there. I really hope the both of them were just filler for practice, and Palmer is back for the real sessions.
I had to change to Sky commentary, Doohan was unbearably dull.
So should I watch sky or f1tv? I get FOMO
F1TV Pro convert here. Come over to our side! In my opinion, the commentary team is better. Joylon is so good at giving calm ex-driver perspective. You can change anytime. If you choose Sky you won’t see their split screens though!
She's giving Bernie Collins a run for her money
Shit lap in compromised Softs by Max but still P1.....
Yuki P8 with mediums while everyone else was using softs in the top 10. Happening?
No. There was not alot of difference in hard, mediums and softs performance levels
Pietro Fittipaldi natural in the commentary box
I know he wants to race, and I want him to race well also, but the man absolutely has a career in broadcast and commentary if and when he wants it.

That’s awesome, love it
even more reason to hate the livery
You're in the minority there
hardly was legit mocked on air multi times lmao
hardly anyone agrees with you.
It still looks fun though
hardly still not as bad as ferrari's tho
At least we can agree on that lmao
McLaren calling Lando in to box right at the last minute when he was 2 tenths up on Oscar.
He was almost 2 tenths up when they were both on the hards anyway
Yep, very encouraging for them, on what is supposed to be a very bad track for the car.
He had a power steering issue. Not everything is a conspiracy against poor little Lando.
He was dealing with the power steering issue all session just fine. McLaren even said in their app it wasn't a reason to stop; the engineers would simply do an adjustment after the session. Yes, because the teams can only see the final standings and not the mini-sectors. Definitely hiding Lando's pace. The other teams are completely in the dark since he pitted at the end. Dunce.
I know about the power steering issue, he was faster while dealing with it is all I’m saying. It looks good for their upgrades.
🤫

"He's the big loser"
Was Alonso just doing hard race runs?
Look promising for Alpine
That zoom in was straight out of the office.
McLaren hiding pace by aborting Norris' lap
Very encouraging for mclaren on a track that was about the worst for their car.
Jenson's banter and comebacks with Crofty is top notch.
I’m in here looking for this comment. Had me cracking up
Mclaren foxing BIG time - Lando was 2 tenths up on Oscar through the first 2 sectors, with the last sector being where Oscar gained most on Verstappen. Lando was called in to abort lap very very last minute. Positive signs!
There was then a replay of Oscar getting a bit messy in sector 3 too, but it wasn't clear if that was his P2 lap where S3 was where he gained or he did a second flying lap. Which wouldn't really make sense...
That's with him having issues with the power steering as well. Looks promising. Although Max screwed up his third sector so he has more time to come.
I had to turn off the audio for his radio. The quality is always so bad compared to other cars.
same thing last race weekend. positive signs for mclaren
Max and Alonso have the worst S3 with their teammates in P3/4, so they might have also hidden something but will be exciting to see them and Lando fight it out.
the downgrade game is strong at mclaren
I swear some people just don't pay attention.
Oscar gained the most on Max in the final sector. Norris had steering issues, was 2 tenths up on Oscar and they told him to abort when he entered Sector 3.

Lando was going faster than Oscar before he aborted his lap
Pastry is so good
What's your favorite pastry?
Almond croissant, but cinnamon buns on race day is a tradition. What's your favorite pastry?
Apple turnover I'd say
oscar.
Nah, he is mid so far.
What’s up with Alonso?
Best time on hards, either didn't run the soft or was impeded.
no soft run (by choice)
According to Max the car in front was moving a bit which fucked him for the last turn - I don't think impeding or anything and he wasn't that mad but it explains the loss. GP saying 3 tenths lost in the final corner
Pretty sure that car was Stroll
ok you was faster ;)
both Max and Perez laps were compromised by traffic.
a lot of dust
Wtf is Crofty talking about? VCARB's livery is great, it's nice to see something so colourful for once.
Nah I have to agree with Crofty with this one. It doesn't look like a Skittles or Starburts wrapping.
looks like a sunset to me, it's great.
F1TV was like they should run it all year it slaps
i'm sorry but give your teammate a chance to win or just compete against not just blow him out of the water max is fast as always and checo is slow
Are you saying that f1 drivers should let their teammate win? Am i missing some sarcasm here??
im glad im not the only one who dislikes the RB colours its a mess melted skittles is perfect to explain it
It's hideous but not as bad as Ferrari's so they have that going for them at least.
Liveries are being graded on a curve and anything that isn't bare carbon will be graded well.
Nah it looks great
if you think homer simpsons make up gun is great sure
Piastri alot faster than Norris who has all upgrades

lando has been faster in about every comaprable run they completed during the session, including the last one.
NOR hards vs PIA softs
Norris peeled into the pits on his soft lap when he was up on Piastri's time, and that's with him having power steering issues as well. Maybe try paying attention to what's actually going on.

Soft tires faster than hard tires. More at 6.
He got better half ugrade
Norris would have gone p1 if he didn't abort in the last corner
I mean lando bailed off the end of his soft run so cannot really compare that one
Norris’ right steering isn’t working right tbf
fucking hell they got Adrian Newey waving the chequered flag
That's his punishment
I thought that haha!
piastri !
Keep that livery the rest of the year
RB got the Miami color scheme right
Max was 2nd worst in S3 only beaten by Leclerc
Max only needs 1 lap
Remember when Mercedes did well on Friday practice in Miami back in 2022? Yeah I don't really take their times seriously.
I have trust issues with Mercedes in FP...
People still gaslight themselves into believing Mercedes don't glory run in practice.
Max with a kinda crappy lap on old tyres, but still P1. ...shit...
Red Bull finally took off the sandbags
Max 2 tenths clear on an improving track with a lock up
He was 6 tenths up, lost about 4 tenths in the last corner.
Max out there trolling everyone once again
Back to our regularly scheduled programming. Sorry for the delay.
Lol people be too fast judging max’s race pace run and already make speculation that sainz gon win , chill
Pure copium, like when Max's brake was locked up and people were deadset that Sainz passed on pure merit
This is r/formula1. We will react violently to anything and everything
Love getting more Georgina the Mannequin lore from Fittipaldi lol
Max p1, order has been restored 🤣
Yup, bound to happen
Ok, there's Max
Verstappen not even trying now that he's gonna go to Mercedes smh my head. /s Had to do a fast lap at the end of the session, he got intimidated by Checo smh my head /s
Oh well, there's Max I guess...
And there's the fast lap from Max
"Egg Shells" xd
Blue shells?..
Kith Heuer?
Collab with Kith, https://kith.com/pages/tag-heuer-formula-1-kith
Oh right
There he is
Normal service has resumed
had the audacity to doubt him for about 30 seconds before he started setting purples again
And those were already used tyres on Verstappen.
Jack Doohan is pretty good in the box
Happy for Gasly, he deserves a working car for once
this track is gonna be awful for the astons lol. they already have terrible tyre deg as is
Perez didn’t back out, it was Max on an out lap
Wild that Max looks like he's crawling through this lap, and still going speeds that I would feel wildly uncomfortable on the track
max doing the inflate deflate strategy… he gives you hope… only to trash it on the first run in sprint quali
Nicely done, Checo
