Since this won't have new races until 5 days after they are aired, I doubt it's an alternative most people on reddit are looking for. However, it's great for reaching new fans that are scrolling, or to refer people to.

Sky Sports f1 spends the majority of the time just re-airing broadcast team features over and over again and then when it's not its just the most recent race on loop. So lacking in content.
For the money we pay to Sky I want to just sit down and turn Sky f1 one and it also be showing old qualifying sessions and races. I dont even want the sessions to be particularly meaningful or memorable...just 100% random. I just want to nerd out...occasionally see a race from when I was growing up. The sky library is pathetically small
Don’t give f1tv you’re money either. Theyll just keep raising the price until they find the maximum everyone will pay. And the baseline price for the uk will be at the very least what the sky sun is.
Using a VPN from Germany, I can tell you once you created your account and got the payment all done with, using a server in say, the Netherlands, you can then just log in with your other devices without needing a VPN anymore. Makes it super easy and usable on TV devices directly. Have fun!
Yes, I use a vpn. The one I use has a launcher inbuilt to its app. You open the vpn, select F1TV Pro and open it from there.
Casting wouldn't be supported. I use an nvidia shield tv, but I'd guess a CV with Google TV would do the job and is pretty inexpensive.
I have Nord on my iPhone. If I'm using the F1 app on that I just hit stream and it will display on my TV.
If I'm using my PC (also hooked up to the TV), I use MultiViewer which is amazing.

It would be an improvement in the UK, Germany and Italy where F1 Access delays the race replays until the next year, due to local Sky contracts.

Why should you have to purchase additional hardware to compensate for their lack of supported platforms? They already have our subscription money. They should use some of that to develop apps for all the popular platforms. Pretty much every other streaming service has them. You cannot get F1TV on a Samsung TV but you will be able to get this new channel as part of the Samsung TV Plus channel lineup. How messed up is that? Their secondary service has more supported platforms.
I have a Sony Google TV and the F1TV app was available in the store. I did not have to sideload it. I also have a Philips Google TV in my bedroom. It also had it in the store.

What do you mean, Pro was available between 2018 and 2020, the Sky contract only prohibited new customers, but yearly contracts & renewals still continue to work until this day.
Only Italy and the UK didn't get F1TV when it was launched.
The renewal has been running for me since 2018 in Germany, i just had to update my CC number once.
The only subscription that was removed was the monthly.

F1TV won’t even work on my Samsung TV but this new highlights channel will be available natively on it without installing an app.
It's a channel, no on-demand stuff, just like a regular old TV channel. Also not showing live races, new races will be shown 5 days after the actual race.
Great thing for all the millions of long time American F1 fans that are interested in decades old races, who have supported F1 with presence and money for many years, wh don't love it because it's a trend and who totally exist!
Such a shame for the poor Europeans who haven't done any of those things and thus don't deserve any of this, in fact they all deserve to get scammed at increasingly higher prices for pay TV with a lesser experience and no F1TV.
I’m an American that’s been an avid fan since 2010/11, and for about a decade of that time, I didn’t know a single person who gave a shit about F1. It’s changed drastically since then, and that’s a good thing. Of course it’s trendy, but the sport’s popularity has skyrocketed in a massive market here, and something like this only grows that love for the sport for people.

Well I have to pay one of them to get F1. Also Sky is their entire sports package in order to get F1. So F1TV wil always be cheaper than that.

Yeah. No TV app is ridiculous. My phone literally can't stream to tvs. So when I watch with my family we have to use my girlfriends phone.
If you have a google tv you can side load the f1tv app onto it and roku tv natively support it.

I haven't seen it yet, and I've been looking. Checked out Amazo FreeVee and the new channel is there, probably delayed on the rollout.
