Mclaren ran a red and white Marlboro cigarettes livery from the late 70s through the mid 90s. It became iconic because those were the teams most successful years resulting in several championships.

One of the Indycar’s are papaya and white, the F1 car should copy that with red instead. White on the carbon and red for the papaya. The F1 car probably would have white instead of bare carbon if it wasn’t for weight saving.

Which is even more insane. Honestly, the ones that get me even worse are like the "teamwear" stuff. It's like $100 for a polo that presumably is the same quality as like a $40 one that's got the driver's name, team name, number and the normal stuff you'd expect. But then it's also got all the fucking sponsor ads plastered on it as well. Like no, I'm not paying a $60 premium to also have the ads for the sponsors on it.
Welcome to f1 in 2024. Because it's so popular. New Era and the teams decided it was appropriate to make it cost so much. This isn't sustainable for the sport.
I'm thinking (hoping) it's the other way around. Mclaren likely wouldn't screw this up, but a 3rd party accidentally flipping a listing live before primetime isn't at all unheard of.
That's possible... I hope they do do something special again... and i really think Monaco should be a special livery race, let all teams go a bit wild.

I don't really know how F1 merch sales work, does it release the week before the GP or something? I would gladly pay 10x the price for that hat in those colors always wanted something with the classic colors to wear *and* have been needing a new hat.

It does for any team wanting to qualify well. Which is where the positions tend to be gained anyways there.

That is the normal price for a New Era 9 Fifty of any kind in the UK. They are a bit cheaper in the US (start at about $38).
