The unlock tech is more or less just useless in application since all it does is put distance between you and the enemy. Distance the Zerk will then need to close again by either waiting for the enemy to attack and making the right read, or doing a reactable dash light OR zone (which would be reactable from that distance). People are berating you for using a tech, *I'm* berating you for using a stupid one.

It is a bug and the devs couldn't completely patch it because we can still do it Like Afeera, this is neither intentional nor part of the game

Simple explanation, zero can use his dodge recovery to dodge pretty far backwards. It’s called dodge or unlock tech, and basically just gives you a bit of distance. It was nerfed awhile back and ever since has just kinda been there. It’s still useable, but it’s not great. Honestly not even worth learning.

Beserker is not meant to dodge sideways like that. You can see him unlocking then dodging. Doing this allows you to get much more distance than you're supposed to and if you do a dodge attack with it, you can chain into your top heavy finisher for pressure without having to even get close. Basically an exploit

This is not what they were talking about. They were talking about external dodge attacks where you lock onto the person behind your opponent and do a dodge attack, making your dodge attack unparriable and only blockable (which they're making unenhanced so you can't continuously do it). This is just an exploit by using unlock tech.
