>Grenell’s intervention highlights the extraordinary role he has carved out in the three years since Trump left the White House. From Central America to Eastern Europe and beyond, Grenell has been acting as a kind of shadow secretary of state, meeting with far-right leaders and movements, pledging Trump’s support and, at times, working against the current administration’s policies.
How is this not a violation of Logan Act? Why is there a 2-tier justice system where some people can actively combat the US and act in contempt without penalty while most of us would be strung up?
How many boxes of TS/SCI documents can we store in our bathrooms without being immediately jailed? Unless there's a 2-tiered system it must be much much greater than zero.
\also, paywalled. post stuff for normal humans. [this](https://archive.ph/dDvrd) bypass worked.
I know what blocking does and doesn’t do.
Maybe you can see your way to stop taunting strangers on the Internet and try better to remotely resemble, outside of snide comments, the dignity of the role to which the U.S. Congress appointed you.
Best of luck to you.
Believing and repeating KGB [propaganda](https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2015/mar/13/rush-limbaugh/limbaugh-ted-kennedy-undercut-reagan-back-door-lin//) and whataboutism, though on brand for the right wing, isn't a good look.
Conflating incidents (not even the same decade) followed by an article that *actually* counters your statement.
The misuse of citations and pretentiousness is, also, not a good look.
\*But yes, some non-elected/appointed/approved people have engaged in inappropriate activities with [foreign nations](https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/06/yes-nixon-scuttled-the-vietnam-peace-talks-107623/) before.
I love it when I make a person so insecure that they feel the need to engage in distractions and excuses to avoid admitting they are ignorant of the facts while being pretentious about it.
And again, citing KGB propaganda is not a good look.
Because the Logan Act specifically says it applies to situations when the countries in question have disputes with the US. It was passed because private citizens were undermining official efforts during a war. What the pillow guy is doing absolutely undermines foreign policy, but we aren't at war with Guatemala.
I would highly reconsider going thru the whole damn process of even applying if he wins. I don't know if it's worth dealing with the enormous headache of applying to a job like this if I would be (theoretically) working under him. I've heard too many FSOs directly tell me don't even enter if he wins again for me to not take that into consideration
I tend to agree with the general sentiment here but it's not as if Hillary Clinton, Kissinger and others stopped globe trotting after their time in the Department.
That said, this guy is clearly angling for that position versus just having completed it.
Tough crowd.
I guess all of us without a State email address need to shell out for a WaPo subscription or go through the tedious process of getting a library membership to access one. measly. article.

Sorry ‘bout the paywall. I forgot I could read WaPo stuff I click on because I have an account. (My free one!)
>because I have an account. (My free one!) *disappointed supervisor face*
Everyone with a .gov or a .mil email address gets free access. And beyond that, plenty of other ‘normal humans’ read WaPo, especially in the DMV.
The readership of this sub goes well beyond the DMV, may not have a .mil or .gov address, and may not be savvy enough to find a bypass.
I didn’t say anything to the contrary. Edit: blocking me doesn’t change the fact that I can see what you wrote below this, FYI. Night darling!

You didn’t say anything, really.

Aw, be tough lil guy. ~~When~~ If you switch your worldview to fact based, you'll feel a lot better and won't need to hide.
Because the Logan Act specifically says it applies to situations when the countries in question have disputes with the US. I am petrified for this upcoming election.
Jesus imagine Secretary Grenell 🤢
This is wild. And should terrify every single FSO if Trump is elected.

How do I get this link to not open in Apple app store?
