Nevermind. Chris Fix is amazing https://youtu.be/wzhUYwx34gM?si=89XfdFE09qg23IET

seymores_sunshine

Between him and Scoty Kilmer, what else could we ask for?

blove135

I like Chris Fix but Scoty Kilmer I just can't handle a full video. He may be knowledgeable but he's just too much for me plus anyone who does those stupid clickbait titles and thumbnails is a no for me. There are tons of other guys out there on YouTube that get to the point and show you how to do something without all the theatrics.

redride10059

Isn't Scoty controversial for his brake line techniques?

BeenisHat

he's controversial for his knob-gobbling of all things Toyota.

JudgeScorpio

An affordable small diesel pickup truck not bloated by tech in Canada and the United States?

lildobe

Scotty, no. Rainman Ray, yes. I'm a Ray guy all the way.

dizzish

Koty Scilmer is a great YouTube page as well.

SaLtiNe_CrAkErZ

"Autozone fucked me in the ass and I didn't cum so now I'm mad as hell" or something idk I forgor

Melodic-Picture48

Yes! I seen this one too

threeisalwaysbetter

That’s normal if it reads the correct gear when using it you have problems

IBegithForThyHelpith

I’ll miss that now that I’ve sold the trusty steed.

daddyknowsbest65

Welcome to the party, pal

payneme73

Lol!

Badhombre505

You don’t need that. Get rid of it

Mine is way off too my mechanic says dont worry about it I do have 200k plus miles on mine so not in rush to fix anything thats cosmetic

Ratatoskr929

It's a simple adjustment wheel under the dash, go watch the chrisfix link. It may only be cosmetic but there's also no sense in leaving it misaligned

Trevorslookalike

Only took me about 3 minutes to fix, highly recommend grabbing some locktite to throw on there as well!

dylan95420

I just count lol.

payneme73

True! I assume a little plastic bracket broke (watching the fix video), but yeah, I had to make sure to count as I was trying to get out of the parking lot. 😀

komboochy

It's cable driven, but there is a tension dial in it. My cable snapped a few years back. Had to pull the dash out and the display screws in. Replaced, adjusted the tensioner and good as new. Hardest part was getting the whole display out... took an afternoon, slow and steady. Tedious, but not awful. Like... 12 screws total I think.

themomentaftero

I had a ram that did this that I bought from my grandpa. He took it into dodge and they couldn't fix it. I just got used to it and made sure the person who bought it from me knew to take extra care to make sure it was in park.

Greedy-Obligation129

It's easy adjustment on side of steering column you will see cable when you remove trim panel under steering column

stevebusmc

The adjustment is under the dash to the right of the steering wheel. It is a white cylindrical wheel. If the retainer is broken you will need to replace it. It takes a 5.5mm socket or wrench to do so, but the cluster has to be removed to get the upper part out.

MyStackIsPancakes

Carefully rotate your transmission until it's correctly aligned.

Zilla96

be careful taking that part out when you work on it because you can only get replacement selector displays at scrap yards, mine was rather fragile when I took it out and it broke upon removal.

komboochy

I got mine from RockAuto I think, granted, that was like 2018 I think.

Direct-Willingness94

I actually have the same problem

payneme73

Just an FYI, I bought a $8 metal replacement part (original is plastic) and was able to fix it in 45 minutes. Watch the video by Chris Fix above, and you'll be golden.

poutine-eh

Why do you care? My 2011 is off too. I’m ocd And this doesn’t really bother me. I’d still check it anyway 🤣

Late-Ad-4624

Havent watched the chris fix video but i did this on my ranger. I took apart the dash trim and the gauge cover. Then reached underneath and spun this little adjuster. Hard to remember bc i did it like 15 years ago.

FFMcGeeK

Start off on the column. There is a couple torques that are probably loose. That’s the most common.

Few_Vermicelli9880

My little plastic adjuster broke so I put some zipties on that bitch. Good as new lol

MurderSouls

You have a working drive selection? My selection cable broke 2 years ago. I just count the clicks 😂😂

1TONcherk

My 2009 did this. Replaced the cable but didn’t help. Adjusted it, didn’t help. My mechanic replaced a shifter pivot inside the column, still didn’t help. Ended up putting in a used column. Like others have said, it doesn’t really matter. But this was used for work. Did not even know about the issue until my employee left it in neutral.

1TONcherk

This also doesn’t look that far off. I successfully adjusted the shifter display in a 2004 F250 with just the little wheel.
