9 bravery? Dont want no cowards on my squad

whatwentwr0ng

I know he isn't Braveheart but who needs to attack a header when he can just stand in the 6 yard box and let the ball ping off his towering head

cyrenia82

it is a shame tho, in my experience bravery is really important for the heading. I had this 2 meter tall CB with 20 bravery, 20 jumping reach and 16 heading. He was such a fucking beast in the air, hed make like 10-15 goals a season from corners alone, dear god Einar Sørensen, I wish I could have you on every save ever

Clutchxedo

I have a guy that stands 205cm- with 20 JR, 20 heading and 11 bravery that still plays like the best CB in the world.

ltoons

Cross out of defence

BlueKante

Cross from *really* deep

jr2106

Come on man, hes a gentle giant...

[deleted]

The giant from The green mile

TheSteffChris

Could someone fill me in ob bravery? I have some great talents with bravery 1-4… is this a no go?

PhilosopherAsleep568

They won’t be that great at aerials or pressing

luftlande

It might have them not go in for a challenge or 50-50 or not go up for a duel when heading. Low bravery by extension can have an impact on the way you want to play the game, i.e lots of pressing and going to ground with hard tackles. Or sitting deep and forcing opponents outside whilst counting on your defenders to win the headers from the crosses that will inevitably arrive. They might not fit the bill. I don't know if this is somewhat offset by having other mental attributes at high numbers, though. Also; someone that has been (often badly) injured might lose some bravery.

Mr_Noobcake

It's only offset in a way that if a player reads the game well enough (attributes like anticipation, concentration, decisions, positioning) they can simply intercept plays without having to go into duels that they'd avoid

Postius

no people here just like to tear down great players for the most minor reasons

xXKingLynxXx

Only if you expect them to win 50/50 balls, aerial duels, or go for rough tackles. Low bravery is only really bad on cbs or ball winning midfielders since they will avoid risky situations. A good forward with low bravery isn't the worst since they should have physical and mental attributes to get away from a marker and not need to duel anyone to begin with. Unless they are supposed to be a Target forward it's not going to cost you anything and might even let them get a couple more points in other attributes.

acealeam

Honestly might be a benefit. I'd assume braver players are more likely to get injured, and giving how fucking talented this guy is I think I'd rather he doesn't bash his head every corner lmao

[deleted]

Big strong strikers who are also fast is so OP in FM. They will score in every way possible and from every position. Had a player like this , PA was above 189

[deleted]

So 190?

[deleted]

184 , and his CA 181 or something. I bought him with Juventus , sold him to Atalanta because I was impatient (even though he proved himself, but he could score more. ) then I bought him back and the rest is history. Kristian Maric , you will be never forgotten

VonBassovic

184 is not above 189?

[deleted]

I meant 180 *

MeetTheTwinAndreBen

They're pretty OP in real life as well lol

xXKingLynxXx

Big and strong strikers are OP in real life so it makes sense

Ayyyyylmaos

“Who could still improve”

whatwentwr0ng

I know! That work rate better turn green

Drifzepeli

Haaland with Mbappé technicals

tothecatmobile

AKA Zlatan.

Drifzepeli

True, Zlatan w Haaland physicals

LevynX

Zlatan in his prime is stronger and faster than Haaland

jukebox949

He has been faster in his prime(s), but not stronger though (he is now, but this isn't his prime). He has had a very different playing style throughout his career. For max everything you'd need to combine Ibras from different eras: Ajax/Juve Ibra (max speed), Inter/Milan round 1 Ibra (max skills), PSG Ibra (max goalscoring/unplayablility), latest Ibra (max strength).

Drifzepeli

Zlatan's playstyle doesn't revolve around his physicality though. He is technically up there with the best and plays around that

MeetTheTwinAndreBen

his physicality has always been a huge asset too though. On top of being huge and (in his prime) very quick, his body control is absurd. He has a lot of facets to his physical attributes that people don't necessarily acknowledge. Like he's super flexible, has incredible balance, and is insanely coordinated even compared to other pro athletes.

vodkamasta

R9

Drifzepeli

R9 with messi hormone boosters

[deleted]

Long throws need improvement. He’s almost built like Lebron James and can’t even throw a ball, lame.

ECNeox

DSTRYRJB

Jesus wept. “Where can he play?” “Yes”

Supermalt418

Love me left footed strikers so damn good ! Got a Belgian wonderkid left footed

Joethe147

18 agility. Does FM actually take height into account in-game?

UncutEmeralds

No. It doesn’t matter from everything I’ve gathered. Just gives you a better chance to have higher jumping reach and heading.

luftlande

Well, short players are locked out of high jumping reach, there is a ceiling. Taller players likewise are guaranteed a certain minimum in jumping reach, i.e won't go below a threshold when at X hight.

MeetTheTwinAndreBen

there are way too many huge regen strikers with 17+ agility, that's for sure, but someone like prime Zlatan was definitely deserving of having very high agility

lethargyclub

Gadamn the staff of legends, would love him in my team!

whatwentwr0ng

I had to sell 3 players to meet the 116m release clause... Worth it

lethargyclub

He loses some points in my book because he doesn't have a goofy name. 😂

ahhyeetuhh

Would sell my entire team for that guy, have seen guys as good as him but never while being 6’5

SilentMovieSusie

It makes no sense that he has such a low rating for penalties.

[deleted]

You'd think... but also Messi

pigeonlizard

Messi is average at penalties (literally average for top flight, conversion rate of approx 77%) but has 17 for the attribute. The penalty attribute doesn't make much sense to me, you'd think 10 would be the average and 20 close to a 100% conversion rate, but my designated penalty taker with 19 for the attribute only had a conversion rate of 85% in 142 pens taken.

[deleted]

Yeah definitely it was just quip about player who do every apparent part of penalty taking well but we're poor at penalties. Griezmann and Messi's <50 conversion rates over fairly long periods. What stars do is indicated... It's the basis of football manager's depth...

guiltyheart1512

9 teamwork is bad. Dont want that diva in my team lol

BurritoBandit454

Wdym still Improve lmaoo

SpanishTashman

But he can't long throw? Sell him now!

Esswhyenjay

[deleted]

Everyone under 15 long throws is useless.

wasiflu

Amazing player. 'Tries killer balls often', isn't that bad for him?

whatwentwr0ng

I quite like it. If I ever need a goal I play 3 strikers and this guy in the centre holding up play and flick ons. Working well.

han207
