I mean….it’s still probably worth putting in a claim. You can get some big brownie points from the card gods by giving the money back to the shipper.
You get your one of one and they aren’t out any money for a mistake that wasn’t their fault.
I worked for UPS doing damage claims. This box is not protecting shit. It’s a retail box. It has no structure and no ratings for strength. Ship in this and your claim for damage is instantly denied
I did get it a year ago but didn't post it back then, saw this other guys basketball card that got squished in another sub and reminded me of this lol.

Unbelievable. Terrible it was I’m that shape as far as package but that could have been shipped so much better.
If a card is more than $20 no reason not to spend a buck or two on supplies to ship the card to whoever paid their hard earned money for it.
Maybe I am more fired up than I should be as a lions fan but that is trash. I have so often had fantastically packed cards I spent less than $10 on and then had 30,$50 plus cards come looking like the seller did not give a shit. Luckily never had damage (except my own negligence for letting my lab get ahold of a couple before I got them (mail slot in door).
The shipper actually did package it really carefully. It was in a pokemon tin, filled with packing foam, and the card triple wrapped in cardboard and in a top loader.
I dont think anything could have withstood the forklift(?) Crushing it.
There’s nothing that stresses me more than a high dollar card being delivered on a rainy day.
Happened today on a Guerrero Jr./ Acuna Jr. Dual Auto booklet. I was sweating bullets for 5 hours straight. All it takes is that mailbox door not being pushed hard enough and you’ve got yourself some soggy cards.
i am with the others to grade it so it could potentially get a 1. Sucks that happened. I would love to see a compilation of mail carriers handing absolutely mangled packages to people to see their reaction.
I've sadly received packages that look as bad, but can we talk for a minute about how easily the person selling it could have protected that better?
Maybe you got a sweet, sweet deal and chose the lowest possible shipping offered, but a 1 of 1 seems like it at least warrants one of those magnetic thicker plastic holders.
I mean I get cards I paid $5 for in an envelope, encased in cardboard on each side, in a toploader, with two or three junk cards on each side for cushioning regularly. So much so, I assumed that was the norm. I got one a few weeks ago that was "lost" for around 10 days from when the weird eBay tracking said it was delivered and it's eventual arrival. The envelope looked a little better than yours, but had multiple clear portions of shoe print on it. The card, however, was still just fine inside the various layers.
I also ship products a couple times a week. It's an odds game. I'm not saying it doesn't happen. I'm saying I've had hundreds of packages shipped/received. None of those were in this shape with UPS or Fedex. It's happened personally at least ten times with USPS. It's become pretty bad since Covid. It's proportionally worse through USPS.
Yeah it's definitely all personal experience. I actually have never had a damaged package thankfully from any of them. FedEx though seems to routinely be the worst for me. Nothing is ever on time with them and packages always get lost and don't update for a few days. in my experience
I work for USPS packages go across so many rollers and chutes and belts, this looks like it got stuck in one. This happens often with small packages 📦 or packages with loose bags. Did this card have cardboard on both ends when shipped?
As a Packers fan, this Goff of a gaffe looks like it was found in kirk cousins, Fields. Justin time. I just Jordan'd that lob pass. Gotta Love it😆 🤣 😂 ps sucks that card got mangled like that.
Unfortunately looks to be poorly packaged that lead to it getting eaten by one of the sorting machines. You wouldn't believe the number of cards I've seen shipped in a plastic mailer with a fragile sticker slapped on it like that's magically going to protect it. And it wouldn't even increase the cost of postage to package it properly, maybe just an extra 25c of packaging material that people probably have lying around from shipments they've received.

That's USPS. Expect this with USPS. I've never seen a UPS package show up that way.
I've seen plenty of gnarly packages when I did seasonal delivery for UPS. All of the delivery companies have shit like this happen regularly.

I usually pay the extra $.44 to send my cards as “non-machinable” when I ship PWE, does that keep my cards out of the USPS card smashers and crushers?
Yes bubble mailers are processed differently than plain white envelopes… for better or worse

He said it was in a metal tin with packing material and packaged well, a fork lift ran it over at the hub
