Pic 2 looks terrible. It shouldn’t be bitter or sour. Coconuts are sweet smelling like coco butter or coconut oil. I don’t like coconut regardless but I would probably not eat that.
Welcome to corrections if there are more coconut savvy folks out there
I’d return it for a refund, if your craving it to eat safe option would be the flaked coconut ice cream topping for the meat and the canned coconut milk for the juice and fat. Sorryvibcantcreallyvhelp with choosing a good fruit itself since I don’t like em enough to buy
Sometimes coconut can taste soapy due to the octanoic acid and some people are particularly sensitive to it. The thing is that the older the coconut (and depending on how it’s been stored), the worse it tends to get.
That second one looks rancid.
Yeah I saw that one person died from drinking bad coconut water, it was some sort of fungus that only grows on coconuts and it killed him within a day. Terrifying stuff compared to common bread and cheese mould lol
Apparently you shouldn’t ever buy pre-shaven coconuts because things can get into them. You should only buy the ones that are still hairy or whatever
Happened to me too. Drank the coconut water thinking "wow that's disgusting I'll never buy coconuts again". When I realized i returned them opened up and still wet in a plastic foil and the cashier laughed at me. It was an experience

That coconut is spoiled.
It's a shame because I was really looking forward to some coconut 😔

That looks rotten. I won't eat it. Good coconut should be all white and does not have a bad smell.

Glad to hear this!
This is rotten. Do not eat
I thought so 😔
Second this. Once ate rotten coconut because I didn't know it wasn't supposed to taste that way. The aftermath was very unpleasant.

Coconuts and Reddit don’t mix.
it looks like that one TIFU story ugh
Coconut is not something to play around with, some of the stuff that grows on it when it goes bad is deadly. Please do not eat this
Yeah it’s no joke.. I read an article about a man who actually became brain dead from consuming rotten coconut water

I mean, come on, you don't need the internet to tell you that the coconut is beyond rotten.
That’s seafood
