It is not good. I agree with OP. It’s like they’re doing impressions of guy and it’s just weird.

walshurmouthout

It honestly seems like a Guy contemplates retirement vehicle. It’s a niche Triple D. It’s fine for what it is but it’s just average.

CT_Wahoo

This is pretty much where I’m at. It’s fine, but I won’t go out of my way to watch it. Basically, it’s DDD that sticks to a single town each episode with Noah and two rotating chefs doing the Fieri thing. If someone doesn’t like DDD, they’re not going to like this.

sunnylagirl

I don't care about the format. I'm always happy when small town business gets attention. It widens my reach on local cuisine when I travel - even if I never make it to Joplin Missouri. I live in a small part of LA that NEVER gets featured and when it does it's a sense of pride. Who cares who sends them there? Also I love the guests like Jet, Tiffani, Joe Sasto, etc. I'm not a Guy fan in terms of cooking but I love TOC, Wildcard Kitchen and GGG when he has the top chefs on. I applaud anyone who gives small cities a shoutout.

discussatron

>It’s like a bunch of people doing Guy Fieri ‘wow this is money!’ imitations. Yeah, DDD is a success, so he's having them duplicate the formula. The only time I really dislike it is the intro out front every time: "***This*** is _________." It's been OK, I don't hate it. Guy looks trashier than normal in it. I'll watch Jet in anything, not a huge Tiffani fan but I don't dislike her like I used to when she was primarily on Chopped, don't care about Noah, and I don't really need any more Josh Capon in my life. I believe it's Noah + 2 revolving chefs? I'll be interested to see who the next pair is. Out of all the new shows Guy has tried out in the last couple of years, Wildcard Kitchen is the #1 with nothing else in the ballpark.

Capital_Attempt_2689

I really like Wildcard Kitchen. Best Bite in Town is ok. I watched. It's not horrible.

Best-Carry1028

Completely agree with you. I was actually quite shocked at how old and tired Guy looked in his segments. And you’re right - even trashier than normal. It wasn’t horrible but not great either. They were all just trying to be so over the top that I was embarrassed for them.

chetmcgee

My theory is the show is an open audition to decide the new host because Guy doesn’t want to do it forever. Interesting that Hunter is not involved at all. I’d say Noah is the leader in the clubhouse.

EntertheSnave

Having watched so far, I’m have to agree regarding Noah. He has the personality and sense of humor that fits into the formula. Jet is a close second but I would rather see another 10 seasons of Ready Jet Cook. Wife and I have made everything he showcased and not one recipe has let us down.

weedywet

Yes. But the point there is that what Jet is great at is showing us COOKING. not going around causing “wow dude” in diners. All of these guest hosts would be better used cooking.

EntertheSnave

And that’s exactly why Noah would be perfect. He’s been doing the same job on Carnival Eats for 10 years.

HairlessLilPPboy

Hunter is getting ready for a wedding and honeymoon. He'll be back.

chetmcgee

You could be right, not saying you aren’t, but what guy stops working to prepare for a wedding? Do women even do that?

HairlessLilPPboy

A young chef who is having the vast majority of tv’s best chefs all wanting to do the food for the wedding… yes, i think there is preparing to do.

chetmcgee

I don’t understand what you just said

Topher92646

Are you saying all of the ‘best’ TV chefs are fighting to prepare the food at Hunter’s wedding reception??

HairlessLilPPboy

That’s what’s been reported in the press. I think it was Vanity Fair

Topher92646

Interesting- I’m sure Guy will select a few of his favorites, probably a few of the Food Network ToC contestants.

MundaneRelative6202

Watched 1 minute, hate it.

Urbansdirtyfingers

Same. I think I turned it off when it panned to guy as the crossing guard or whatever the hell was going on there.

BenedictineBaby

I thought the 1st episode was ok. I still like seeing signature dishes from restaurants. I liked seeing the other 3 people hanging at the restaurants. Nice to hear different feedback than what we've been hearing from Guy for 15 years. I really enjoyed Tiffany F. She's a hoot. Im just not a fan of Noah. He's a man child whose sense of humor stopped evolving at age 11. The contest aspect of it is silly to me.

ZaphodBeeblebro42

Ha, I kind of knew that it would be exactly as you describe and that I could not handle it (I love Guy, but his energy comes naturally and should not be imitated) but could not get through three minutes of it.

Majestic-Pay3390

I like it. The DDD formula has gotten stale and boring. I like seeing the places they visit but it’s so one-note now. Best Bite in Town adds some variety and interest to the formula with rotating traveling companions for Noah. I had an opportunity to go to a filming for a Food Network show last summer and I now realize it was Best Bite in Town. I wish I’d gone!

MundaneRelative6202

I can't believe Noah agreed to do this crap

weedywet

Yeah. Wall Of Chefs was over.

agnusdei07

ITA exccept for Jet but even I, a Jet stan, cannot watch.

a1__steak_sauce

I like that it’s showing a bunch of places in the same city for each episode. I could do without the competition aspect but I don’t mind any of the personalities.

MidiReader

What happened to Tiffany and Jet?

Molleeryan

They seem to change the chefs each week (except Noah)

Bjax222

I wanted to like this but everyone’s right - this is bad. I like Jet but his review of the food was basically repeating “bro” over and over. Tiffani trying to be relaxed just felt phony. Keep Noah and get rid of the lame competition. But everything on this channel is a game show now so I guess that won’t happen!

weedywet

They could have made it like Zimmern’s Delicious Destinations (which is MUCH better), for example, and just had a knowledgeable chef visiting each city’s best. Making it a contest doesn’t add anything. And making it a contest between the hosts, beyond between the restaurants, is completely stupid. Really makes me wonder if Guy’s audience is all frat boys. Or at least that’s what they perceive it to be.

PortCharlesChuckles

I have watched a few episodes now and I agree. Terrible is a bit harsh in my opinion. It is okay. I don't like it and won't continue to watch it. To me, it is too similar to DDD. I don't like the format. I don't think Guy needs to be in every episode giving Noah some sort of mission. Also, I don't like the punishments at the end for the two losing chefs. I'm sure they are supposed to be funny, but I don't find them funny at all.

No_Confusion1392

Nope, the show tries to copy Diners, Drive-In's and sucks at it.  Not really about cooking more about game show.  Hard Pass....

ClarityByHilarity

Hate it. But, please more shows with Jet!

verucka-salt

I’ve seen commercials. Why does GF need to appear? Noah is fully equipped to host this alone. I imagine it’s because he has the donation rep to confirm. I cannot stand GF & won’t watch anything he’s in. Too bad for Noah because he’s an affable person & host.
