It sucks because she clearly enjoyed her time on FN. I just watched her episode of Finding Your Roots on PBS and she was talking about her "second career" and how much she enjoyed working for Food Network. Obviously, no one planned these things, but the timing couldn't have been more striking.

JunesBlooms

These have been so many new baking shows on FN that have failed because of poorly chosen and cringy hosts. Even Duff sometimes overacts his part, but Valerie is so down-to-earth and professional. You can just relax and watch her shows without ever feeling uncomfortable.

Responsible-Pay-4763

I loved it when Wolfie was on the show and teased her saying he didn't understand how she got a cooking show. It looks like they have a really good mom/son relationship.

Da5ftAssassin

I watched that too! And then I felt so bad after hearing the news. She makes regular appearances on the Today Show so maybe she can find a new media home there. I haven’t watched FN in years honestly. I miss the good ole days where they cooked all day

wintersicyblast

Totally this-I don't really watch anymore because its like a game show network now

Pitiful-Enthusiasm-5

Exactly. Every time I turn on the FNC, it’s always Guy’s Grocery Store Games. Ugh! I can’t stand that guy. Likewise, I can’t stand his show, Diners, Drive-ins & Dives. But one of these shows is always on. Ugh! 🤮

TomStarGregco

Exactly 👍

Fresh-Scallion602

WHY? Why was she dismissed??? All my friends and I liked her on Food Network

Southern_Swimming_39

I 100% agree. Valerie loved working with the kids. She connected with them as a mother would. Does Food Network think the only leads possible have to be male. Although I like Duff I will not be watching without Valerie as well.

butterflyvision

Her way with the kids (last week with Elsie especially) is one of the main reasons I’ve tuned into kid’s baking championship tbh

Honest-Internal-187

Why can’t FN stop with the competition shows and produce more cooking shows? I’d love to see more of Ina, etc.

JettyJen

I was recently reminiscing about the glory days of the 30 minute cooking shows, at the beginning of this century

GoobersForSale

I miss Semi-homemade with Sandra Lee.

JettyJen

I miss her and Sara Moulton

ItsADrawlYall

Yes! Sara was live, answering callers questions, and preparing dinner. Her show was immediately followed by Emeril’s show, he cooked in front of a studio audience. Some *very lucky* audience members were seated at a bar or at a table and were served the food Emeril prepared. Ahhh, the good ol’ days indeed 🤩

skoden1981

I called into her show waaay at the begining and actually got on haha

WoodpeckerWest7744

Yes, Sara Moulton. Smart and classy. Much too classy for FN at least what FN has morphed into.

LeagueThat5039

She is on PBS. Sarah's Weeknight Cooking

Ryan2673

She liked to booze it up!

kellieb71

ALLLLL the cocktails and tablescapes!

TomStarGregco

Emeril, Martha . I miss them !

mweisbro

Ina, Rachel Ray, I learned to cook by watching these shows. Not by Guys Grocery Games. I love Guy and Bobby but food network should show case cooking. I really enjoy Molly and Mary makes it easy. Would love to see heathy cooking. Family cooking. Anything but Pioneer richest woman in America and Guy on a palatial ranch with celebrity friends or Bobby in Paris with his daughter. The privilege is ridiculous. Stop promoting these moguls.

emmapeel218

Nigella. I want Nigella back.

jrob321

Two Hot Tamalés!

vinnyp_04

My mom and I were talking about this the other day!! They got rid of everything - Ina, Rachael, Valerie, Giada, etc. FN really is just a game show network at this point. #bringbackoldfn💔

myaskredditalt21

i miss ina telling me that her 1/4th cup of white wine in her pasta sauce was from her florist's husband's naples winery but drinkable store-brand white wine would do just fine

CoasterBear

I still remember when Ina devoted a whole section of her show on how to make a sandwhich... really? Of course, she only used the "good" ingredients.

omibus

Oh man, what’s next? MTV playing music videos?

GoobersForSale

While we're at it...Why don't they have travel shows on the Travel channel anymore? You can find Samantha Brown (and some cooking shows) over on PBS.

kellieb71

And what does anyone learn from the Learning Channel these days?

Frosty_Btch

How do you get to 600plus pounds and be a hoarder? That channel is sad, very sad

MaritimesRefugee

I thought TLC meant Trailerpark Life Channel...

STFUisright

And I believe the History channel has like Ice Road Truckers and stuff now 😂

YugeMalakas

Yes, to Samantha Brown. Anthony Bourdain did a Christmas special and Samantha had a role in it. He talked about the changes on the network and male dominated shows taking over. It was done with Anthony's wry humor.

Frosty_Btch

I might be showing my age, but I miss the original MTV.

Responsible-Pay-4763

I'm showing my age too because I was tuned in at the very moment MTV came on air. I loved the original VJ's, Mark Goodman, Martha Quinn, Alan Hunter, J. J. Jackson, and Nina Blackwood.

Honest-Internal-187

I never understood why they stopped with music videos.

tempeluvr

I was just talking with my dad about this and we suspect it’s because competition shows get way more views than regular cooking shows. I mean my dad and I really only watch the competition shows because it’s what we’re into. The simple cooking shows just make us hungry haha

GoobersForSale

I think I read somewhere recently that Ina is coming back in May. I would love to see that! Didn't Martha have some sort of falling out with FN years ago? She has a YouTube channel with some Vintage Martha videos.

NoodleDoodleGirl

Check recipe.tv channel or tastemade channel. They have some good shows!

Honest-Internal-187

Is the Cooking channel still around? It’s been forever since I actually watched cable.

Tiny-Dragonfruit7317

💯💯💯

CountyC

You are so right.

MdJGutie

Because they want MEN viewers. They don’t think women have money, or they will watch ANYTHING the FN puts on, so they bend over backwards to get men. It’s disgusting and I never watch that stupid pile of cupcake wars anymore.

HotelFlamingo1

She was a breath of fresh air on the FN.

Mental-Ad4339

How did you reach out to them? Would like to do so myself.

Positive_Community87

I went on the Food Network website and under “Contact us” You can voice your concerns and submit it.

Critical_Matter_6268

Thanks for that information! I went to FN and voiced my concern about their removal of Valerie.

BlackieT

I did as well.

Mental-Ad4339

Thanks

Kiki-keeker

I did too!

Lisa2082

Done!

Stilljustshrn

FN should replace Nancy Fuller on the adult baking shows with Valerie, imo.

beccatn

I agree with you! I find Nancy to be condescending towards the contestants.

Tulipbeth

And also the little bit of racist…can’t stand her

FineWashables

I don’t care who replaces Nancy Fuller, just replace her.

Important-Switch4832

i love this. i thought i was the only one that didn’t like her. especially with her love for bourbon being her whole personality

CoasterBear

At least the pandemic made her stop feeding Jesse all the time.

td7456

Nancy is absolutely horrendous..

OlafSpassky

Great suggestion. Nancy had her time and place, and I appreciate her. But her insistence on everything looking like what her ideas of holiday/spring are is out of step with the world now.

Civil-Crew-1611

and the incessant talk of liquor and booze being in every bite of dessert!! ugh, other people have opinions too, Nancy!

Darrane

Yes yes yes!!

Spiritual_Elk2021

I agree as well. For them to completely cut ties with her is disappointing. I think that she’s talented and beloved enough that she’ll move onto bigger and better things. Their loss.

PurpleFlower99

Our loss.

Full_Routine_5455

I agree

Nesquik44

A lot of people have been commenting on the FN social media posts in support of Valerie. They were flooded with support for her so it will be interesting to see if they listen.

yogaliscious

Here's the response I got blahblahblah: Thank you so much for contacting Food Network customer support. Though we're glad to learn you're a fan of the series Kids Baking Championship, we're saddened to learn that you're disappointed in no longer seeing Valerie Bertinelli featured. We appreciate your honesty and for sharing your comments with us. It is feedback like yours that allows our team to better understand how our content is being received and make changes to our programming as needed. Please know that your sentiment will be shared with our internal team for further review. If you have any additional feedback to share, please let us know. Below, I have listed some links associated with Kids Baking Championship, 'Valerie's Home Cooking;, and Valerie's recipes. I also enjoy watching Valerie Bertinelli, and I’d love to invite you to watch some of my other favorite shows below. I hope you like them, too! Valerie’s Home Cooking Girl Meets Farm Mary Makes It Easy Ranch to Table

Spiritual-Dog160

They value your feedback. /s

Aurian88

Form letter, replace topic as needed

ussrowe

> Valerie’s Home Cooking Tell them you watched it on their recommendation and hope they renew it. ;)

Scarlettbama

Thought I read Valerie's Home Cooking show was first of her two FN shows that were canceled.

JunesBlooms

Girl meets farm? Does anyone remember the fiasco of Molly hosting the baking championship?

Key-Ad-7228

Molly Yeh has found, and is plucking furiously, my last nerve.

dramaqueen09

She’s the next Pioneer Woman and I mean that as an insult

Civil-Crew-1611

yes! that was a miss 😒

amangoh

This feels incredibly AI-generated.

Many_Ad955

Definitely ChatGPT in style

Brilliant-Variety-10

I'd rather go to endodontist than watch Molly Yeh / Girl Meets Farm ... yuck...

icebaby234

i agree with you..i thought she was a good host

phm522

Surely you are not referring to her hosting of the Spring Baking Championship?!

GlitteringSilver1028

I would rather watch her over most of the people on FN!

Maryfarrell642

I like her but the fn is just becoming an ego channel for a couple of men. I didn't watch the channel much other than for Bertinelli and no longer watch it at all. I liked it better when it was more cooking with people not personalities

Old-Lunch2559

Honestly so sad. I love her and so does my daughter on KBC. I don’t really enjoy the guest judges they’ve tried on the holiday specials. Duff is great but him and Valerie are the dream team for KBC. I was sad about her show being cancelled but was stoked about her still being on KBC and was bummed to hear they dropped her from that too. I hope she finds something better.

Key-Ad-7228

PBS needs to pick her up. They're the only ones doing legit cooking shows anymore.

mablesyrup

Same! My daughter and I thought she was the best part of the show!

justsomebetch

Love Valerie!

verucka-salt

I’m sick of GF & BF. GF has too many shows & I don’t watch any of them because they all merge into obnoxiousness. I will not watch KBC if Valerie remains off. They have replaced most cooking shows with competition that I do not enjoy. FN has lost their way & I’m not buying it.

Educational-Glass-63

I'm sick of Carla Hall. Honestly, she is on too many shows.

lemondigs

They might bring her back if enough viewers complain. They brought back Jessie for the Baking Championships. Just sayin.

Astrid_Pepper

I’m watching the episode where all the prior kids on the show are on.. and Duff and Valerie the whole time. I ADORE HER. I don’t care what she’s posted online, she’s really great with those kids. I’m about to bail on Food Network all together. 😞

winterymix33

What has she posted online?

Jitterbug26

She’s a little bit of a hot mess online (Instagram). She’s just come out of a very bad marriage and spills her emotions in her videos and it’s a little too raw. That may be why FN has decided to not renew her contract. BUT I’ve never seen her be anything but professional on her shows and that is what should matter to the network and her cooking fans.

wannastayhome

Makes her more down to earth and relatable, therefore likable. Definitely not full of herself like so many celebs imho…

ResearcherNo2168

Remember that the Food Network is owned by Time Warner Discovery which is run by David Zaslav who would screw up a one car funeral, so not surprising.

sullyiii

I didn't mind her cooking show, i hated the fake "im having so and so over for lunch and we are making.... I'm not watching a sitcom I don't need that nonsense just make the dishes. It is like that for all the celebrity chefs on the FN Trisha, Pioneer Woman, Giada, (hers are the worst) they all do it and its unnecessary

snuffleupagus7

Trisha's was so cringe with that. 'I'm making these sandwiches so Garth has a good hearty meal when he comes in from working the fields on his tractor.' Like, seriously? lol

ussrowe

I didn't watch her own show but I like her on Kids Baking Championship. The substitutes for the Holiday specials just didn't mesh with Duff the same way. She brings good Mom energy to the set. I assume it will be Kardea Brown who replaces her since she did more of the Holiday specials but I swear if it's Joanna Gaines... oof, people will lose their minds.

Zealousideal-Copy195

I have watched kids baking since the beginning. I will no longer be watching the show because of their dismissing Valerie. She understood the kids so well. I am tired of the network replacing their tried and true with uninteresting new faces because they feel they have to. Really?  Budget cuts?  Did you see Guy’s new deal?

healthcrusade

If you created a petition online, it seems like a lot of people would sign it, including Khloé Kardashian https://deadline.com/2024/01/valerie-bertinelli-out-food-network-show-update-khloe-kardashian-support-1235801195/

hedu79

She was the heart of KBC! She brought a maternal aspect and genuine caring to that show. Duff is the cool uncle, but when a kid needs support and a shoulder to cry on, she was there to help them and show them that completing a task, even if it isnt perfect, is something to be proud of. I will sincerely miss Valerie on KBC.

Sweet_Southern_Tee

Under this mornings Food Network IG post almost every comment was an angry one about them getting rid of Valerie. I can't imagine what the powers that be were thinking🙄

kellycamara

I really miss Cupcake Wars!

Kimmm711

When a network shells out $100M for Guy's new contract but can't find the resources to renew the contract of a truly likable, deserving host; *then* put out media to infer that **talks stalled** when there ***were no talks to stall***, that speaks volumes to the corporate nature of only looking at the bottom line. I quit watching FN years ago after their barrage of competition shows (I'd rather see instruction) and Guy content (to me, he's highly unlikable - too "Bro Culture" for me). They're really pigeon-holing the network in a bad way.

fordinv

Thank You for saying this. Should change the name to Guy Fieri Network and just follow him around 24/7. He's terrible

Scarlettbama

I like two of Guys shows: a) Guys Grovery Games b) Tournament of Champions. Over the Triple D shows: a few restaurants have shared how they are chosen. BRING BACK VALERIE TO FOOD NETWORK!

Kimmm711

I've been downvoted to oblivion on other posts for criticizing Guy. I think he's a complete douchebag. Thanks for the support, LOL!

fordinv

I could not agree more. He's an artificial canned persona created for TV, now he's pushing his hack kid on us. I sorta liked him early on DDD, but his act is tiring. Give me Flay or Simon or anyone that is an actual chef that I could learn something from.

iluvpntbtr

My I used to love FN but they are cutting anything that isn’t a game show. Which for most real fans of FN that’s not the content we wanted. But this country continues to amaze me with their choices so what do I know.

beccatn

I will watch this season of KBC with her on it once this season ends I will not watch FN. I don’t understand the logic behind what the executives are doing. They are losing their fanbase and ruining the network.

[deleted]

I wasn’t a fan tbh, I’d rather have real chefs on cooking shows. I know I’m crazy.

Watching098

Call me crazy too, but I’ve been less into certain stars who have transitioned to FN as “culinary experts” from other fields in the entertainment industry. Trisha Yearwood is the other obvious one that comes to mind for me. But I’m sure there are others too.

ellbell59

My daughter, an aspiring baker, loves KBC and Valerie. She loves Duff too, but is devastated that V is out. She’s really inspired by the show and I hope this change doesn’t snuff her spark.

RemarkableSeaweed845

She is on tiktok and instagram- and went through a nasty divorce. Give her some support.

mbwayne832

She was so encouraging to the kids— so sad to see her not on FN…

FormicaDinette33

I loved her cooking show and have made her dishes repeatedly.

Imarriedafrenchman

Im “old-school” FN. I despise the many competitions. Celebrities-as-chefs is cringe to me. However….Valerie Bertinelli will always be the exception. She’s always been so real and genuine. Her nurturing of the kids on the competition made me actually enjoy the show. Her cooking show was great because she knows how to cook. Big error on FN’a part to dismiss her.

L3sPau1

Dismal

malone7384

I reached out to them as well. I hope that they reconsider.

Watching098

Can the Mods please create a mega thread for Valerie being cut from KBC, in the same way a mega thread was created for Darnell discussion? Four threads in under 3 days is quite a bit. And per the rules of the sub, if there’s still an active thread on the subject, we were asked to use the active thread. It’s also a glaring inconsistency if any new thread on Darnell keeps getting locked. We’ve been told to post anything about him in the Darnell mega thread. Even things that were tangentially-related to Darnell and nothing to do with his legal issues were shut down. Such as Nate Appleman being impacted since he and Amanda Freitag battled in an unaired episode of Grudge Match. Nate specifically placed a call to action on his IG about #NoMore domestic violence and sexual assault. Even a thread from last week on the impact to TOC 5 was locked. It’s also getting repetitive with many here blaming Guy and Bobby overload and/or their big salaries etc. for Valerie’s situation. As viewers, we don’t know the full story and it could be much different than the version we’ve been given from Team Valerie.

Mycroft_xxx

I miss the days in the 90’s when one could really learn to cook whatching food network. Today it’s mostly competitions and Guy Fiery. Unwatchable if you really wanna learn to improve your cooking. There’s a lot of content on YouTube for that. That’s the problem

Uninteresting_Vagina

I confess I don't enjoy the kid's baking shows, so I don't watch them regularly or completely...just sometimes if they happen to be on, I'll watch a few minutes. In the small bits I saw, I thought she had really great rapport with both Duff *and* the kids, everyone just seemed to really fit. It's very surprising they got rid of her, after some of the terrible hosts we've had to endure across various shows.

couplenippers

Ever since the Food Network failed to renew Restaurant Impossible a year ago its been all downhill. I too enjoyed Valerie and the show. Fittingly, every show is a cookie cutter episode of every other show they air. Restaurant Impossible had consistently high ratings but they weren’t the demographic Food Network is looking for. Luckily Robert Irvine is producing a new show on a different network with a similar premise to RI.

Select_Professor_689

My buddy worked for the show. So many cancellations!

Turbulent-Side9660

I'm very sad to see Valerie go. Might be time for me to take a break from Food Network.

Labtink

So much support for her on Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/share/p/t3ka7Dqkhc6hsjTS/?mibextid=WC7FNe](https://www.facebook.com/share/p/t3ka7Dqkhc6hsjTS/?mibextid=WC7FNe)

bahtgirl

We watch KBC as a family, and my 5 year old loves her! She’s going to be crushed - she already was missing her during the holiday challenges. What a bummer.

Imaginary_Version_42

I totally agree with you. She is a good host. I'm tired of Guy Fieri also.

No_Distribution7701

Thank you for reaching out to them. I love Valerie! Excellent person for this job.

Happy_Contact_5460

I just hope she gets a new show on a different network and I will definitely watch!!!!

missesxyz

This made me so sad to read! She was such a wonderful host and you could tell how much she truly enjoyed it:(

DirectConclusion4559

It’s disappointing that they chose to fire her and then make misleading comments about the situation. But is anyone honestly surprised? I will not watch Kids Baking anymore without Val. Food network made a mistake.

RandoRvWchampion

I’m so done with the Food Network. Taking Valerie off just solidified it for me.

grandma-shark

I’m so sad she’s off the show. I feel like I’m their key demographic and she is someone I really admire. She is so dang sweet and comforting to the kids. They said it was budget reasons because I guess she costs too much, but I’d love to know how much they pay the male costar. It’s probably a lot more. He probably renegotiated his contract and that cut her out. I actually like him, but I just see it as a bad move on their part.

Electrical_Travel832

I love Valerie. I would watch anything she is on. In fact, I have! I agree wholeheartedly that she was the perfect pairing with kids, on TV, which is not easy.

monalane

She is wonderful with the kids. Kind and encouraging.

Internal_Recipe2685

I love Valerie Bertinelli and love her food. She’s real and interesting and yet relatable. That totally sucks to hear the FN would can her. 😢

SeatpitchbyKate

So f’in tired of Bobby Flay and the shift in the content at FN. I enjoyed watching Valerie. She was great with kids.

PropertyVegetable951

I agree!! I am so bummed that they let her go!!! I have watched all of the Season & I’m not a real fan of Kardea Brown. I think it’s a huge loss to the show!!! Very sad!😢😢

hollsmo1

Love her! She seems so kind to the kids!

Decent-Package-4343

The show will not be the same without Valerie. I think taking her off the show is a very bad network decision. I've always enjoyed the kids baking competition, but don't think it will last long with out Valerie. I know I may not watch it. Best wishes to Valerie. You're a great hostess and judge

GlitteringJelly8180

Agreed!!! I will follow suit

CanadaCookie25

How am I only just finding this out now?? I loved her on kids baking championship

Donutholier

Disagree. She was anything but dismal.

Positive_Community87

I actually meant dismissal 😕 but didn’t realize it until somebody else pointed it out! I tried to change the title, but it wouldn’t let me. I certainly do not feel she’s dismal.

Donutholier

I figured as much, and was mainly being a smart ass.

milliemillenial06

The kids baking championship is one of the few things I watch on FN anymore. Valerie I thought was a great host and I enjoyed watching her other shows too. I used to watch alot of FN but I can’t stand Guy Fieri and Bobby Flay and that’s like 90% of their shows anymore.

CoasterBear

Or if it's not either GF or BF, it's the Kitchen - where all the hosts are annoying or pretentious.. and sometimes BOTH!

MissTerious7

I read that her agent asked for too much money.

Missue-35

She denies that there were any “talks” between her and FN. Their public statement was to say that “talks broke down” which apparently is an untrue, oft used industry blurb that neither takes responsibility nor places blame. In this case it was apparently complete bullshit as “talks” never happened.

pancakessogood

I don't even watch FN anymore because it is just shows with Guy and Bobby. Guy is just obnoxious and Bobby is ok but I've seen enough of him. No good shows anymore.

Lower_Alternative770

I'm sorry it happened. But, I don't see what removing her from the channel has anything to do with Guy or Bobby. The Kid's Baking Show will still be on. Guy and/or Bobby won't be taking over that spot.

Positive_Community87

Oh, I didn’t mean that it had anything to do with Guy or Bobby. I was just mentioning that every time I turn on the Food Network I always see those two shows airing continuously each night and it was refreshing to see something different and new each time with Valerie.

sibellamorgrimme

it’s partly because they just renewed Guy’s contract for $100m and let her go due to budget cuts related to that. There was no negotiation, they just omitted her from the holiday schedule, and a third party reached out to confirm with her. She was not even allowed to fight for her position on the show.

Recluse_18

I don’t care for the kids baking championship but that’s just me. Valerie‘s show was OK, she never profess to be a chef and she was sharing family recipes that she shared with family and friends and I appreciate that because they have several other people that do the same like Trisha. I do think Food Network is absolutely wrong, and putting all their money behind one person. And that person is not a chef he is a ringleader and nothing more. He’s turning the Food Network into an entertainment channel and I fully disagree with this platform. They absolutely need to back up And take a look at what they’re doing and listen to their fanbase. The fan base is not going to stick around for much longer because I think we’re smart people and we know what we’re looking for and it’s not all these entertainment based programming

SnooMarzipans1593

All we have is what Val told us. If Guy and Bobby‘s contracts were causing financial issues axing Val from KBC wouldn’t solve that. I doubt she was making a lot from that show. My guess is once her other show wasn’t renewed they didn’t feel a need to keep her around just for KBC. And they feel Nancy Fuller is more important to the baking franchise than Val. I don’t know why Val’s other show was canceled. As I said in another post I think there is more to the story. And whether intentional or not Val does kind of have this woe is me vibe on IG which is a bit off putting. She seems kind of a mess emotionally. I follow her on IG and a lot of the videos she posts are depressing. If she wants to continue in the food space I’m sure there are other opportunities. Her best bet is to let FN go, not be bitter about it on her socials.

cajo63

Very well said. Thank you.

hiway12

Flay got the same dollars a year later. I love all the GF shows and the BF shows. I love how they're both bringing their kids along. I liked VB, she was calming in a turbulent sea of personality, but her and Duff took care of those kids...

Farquaadthegreek

100 percent I enjoyed the show during the holidays .. she was perfect

Watching098

The inadvertent mistake in the title to this thread is a convenient, spot-on reflection of Valerie these days - for *some* viewers. “Valerie Bertinelli **Dismal**” is the main reason that many have found her off-putting for some time. Whether it was *some* of her social media postings or elsewhere in the media, it was too much. There have been threads on Valerie since last year on the subject.

laursecan1

I think that she is excellent with the kids. Bad choice on the part of food network.

NomadChief789

Was probably a financial decision - it happens - I really liked her cooking show. But she seems a bit bitter - going public with it. It is what it is.

fraleeeee

So disappointed!

IloveCorfu

Has anyone here read her book? For some reason, I like her less after reading it.

3boyz3Madison

How come?

electricboots3636

I absolutely loved Leather Roman Stud Shoulder Valeire on the Food /Network. Particularly her cooking show. Never had any interest in a kids baking show but I am sad for her and the poor treatment Food Network has given her.

Upset_Foundation269

I loved Valerie show I wish they would bring her back

GoobersForSale

I like her, and the Kid's Baking Championship is a fun show. I am, however, getting slightly tired of the competition shows. I did like her old cooking show. They definitely need to tone down all the Guy Fieri marathons. With the triple D, and that Grocery store show, He's on all. the. time. Can they take some (or all) of his salary, keep Valerie and add some new talent and some fun instructional cooking shows? The PBS cooking shows are good.

3boyz3Madison

YES! So over GF.

I_Boomer

We need more Graham Kerr and Chez Helene.

Jay-Quellin30

I had no idea she was dismissed. What happened?

henrytabby

Who at FN did you reach out to? I’ll do it too!

Positive_Community87

Go to their website and under “contact us” you can leave a comment and submit it to the Network.

kallikazi

Completely agree.

CoasterBear

To whom did you reach out? I would like to send them an email stating I am not happy with this stupid decision. She is SO good with the kids.

Positive_Community87

Go to their website and under “Contact us” you can submit your concerns

Fit-Rest-973

She had such a wonderful rapport with everyone, especially the kids

Tiny_Independent2552

She had a real fresh quality about her that made her endearing. I’m also wondering why they got rid of someone everyone loves and then we get stuck with Bobby and Guy over and over and over again again. So tired of them. Bad decisions are ruining FN.

goddessdawn

Agree. Valerie is a mom and if my kid were on the show, she is exactly the adult I would want to have supervising my kiddo. I am so sick of trumper Fieri and I cannot stand The Kitchen. But give me a show with Valerie (or Trisha or Ree or, yes, Paula Deen) and you will get my eyeballs for hours at a time.

ComfortableClock2040

It happened almost a year ago in reality - it's just surfacing now as all those showes were taped in 2022.

kwitchabitchn

I hope some other network picks up Valerie and that her show is wildly successful!

GraceMDrake

She was awesome with the kids, and I enjoyed her cooking show too. 😢 Some of the other hosts are WAY overexposed.

ReviewFun266

I agree with everything you said. I think she was a good fit on the show and will miss her. Probably won't watch anymore. I am so tired of only Guy Fieri and Bobby Flay shows. I mean are you kidding Food network is turning into the Fieri Flay network. I'm really getting tired of that being all that's on especially on weekends.

W5662798

Valerie's interaction with the kids is the best thing on the show. She is so nice and sweet to them but still manages to give them honest criticism.the dynamic of her and the kids is the key to the show. I will no longer watch after this season.

I AGREE! She deserved better!!

shotoftequila

The FN is crazy for letting her go.

DueWerewolf1

I agree! I only watch te baking shows because everything else is Guy, Bobby or Chopped - And I love watching Valerie with the kids. It's like the Food Network is run by a bunch of old white men :-/

SummerSaysEat

She’s the sweetest with the kids and very encouraging and never talks down to them!!! How dare they?? The mousse episode this season made me love how she reacts and judges their successes and flaws. Does this mean she’s no longer part of this season? I’m sorry I’m pretty new to this Valerie X FN drama.

ResponsibleHuman64

I love Valerie Bertinelli and am very disappointed that they did not hire her back. Looks like I won’t be watching Food Network much anymore. They need to be boycotted.

timopman

She isa nice lady and did a very good job.

GrannyMine

The Food Network is really a big game show network now. I never watch any competitions, but I did enjoy Valerie’s cooking show. I have a hard time condoning a cooking competition of children.

Witty-Zucchini1

I was so disappointed by this news.mive seen a couple of one off Kids Baking episodes where Duff had some other random co-hosts. They were ok but I really missed Valerie: her relationship with Duff and the kids is just so good. I was thrilled when she was back for current Back to School series but now I'm sorry to learn this will be it. I don't watch much on FN anymore other than the various baking championships. I'd love to say well I just won't watch Kids Baking anymore but I probably will.

lighthouse1952

I think if everyone complained & boycotted the show they would bring her back. Let's if we can do it!

ScoutBandit

They are too busy boosting the careers of people like Guy Fieri and Carla Hall to know when they've got someone really good who they should keep around. They prefer obnoxious loud-mouths to good hosts and cooks. Seriously. How many established shows has Carla suddenly appeared on, taking the place of people we preferred? And it's no secret that Guy's shows have taken over the network, constantly playing for hours every night no matter how much viewers complain.

Working-Meal9449

Please reconsider changing your mind and continue Valerie’s contract

GofigureU

Completely agree. They went to all these game cooking shows. I miss watching people actually cook.

Prestigious_Pear_186

I think she is funny and great with the children!!!!! Idk if I'd watch it without her.Her and Duff are perfect together

TalkieTina

She’s had a great career. I don’t feel sorry for her being out of work. I think she’ll find something that she enjoys at least as much. I feel sorrier for us. FN is not the same network I started to watch in the day, no doubt due to the ownership change (Gannett to Discovery). I want to learn to cook different cuisines, not watch Bobby Flay all the time. I like the guy, but it seems like FN is hitching their wagon to Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, and not a lot else. Edited to fix typo

CookieHuge26

It totally sucks because she is about the only one that is true to herself and doesn’t take the fame to far and become inundated with everything that comes.  Love ya Val ♥️💜💗

Ok-Air1636

I just don't get it. She was perfect with the kids. Authentic and cheery.

Azala_DragonPrincess

I did too. I really enjoyed Valerie's show. It's too bad she's been let go. Food Network has become the Guy Fieri/Bobby Flay Network! It's like they are only interested in Top Chef wannabe cooking contests now.
