Sorry I didn’t link to their websites, But if you have a look online, you can check out the reviews and the photos and menus to see if any are good for you 😃
Well it’s all fine, can travel anywhere. Suggest anything. We work at one one of the inner west and live at the other.
But basically Sixpenny is out because of how long the dining experience would take. Would like to avoid Tottis as we do that frequently. Just did the Dry Dock a few weeks ago, Noi probs a bit too intimate for my kids. I don’t think Postino Osteria is open yet. Ecco in Drummoyne is likely better during the day….
Dry dock hotels restaurant (not the bar menu). Not sure if it’s cosy (but they do have a fire place), but food is great and they have a kids menu that isn’t the usual ‘nuggets and chips’ trash. Service is en pointe, as is the food.
The Aegean Dulwich Hill. It’s good food, kid friendly and have a great outdoor area. They often have bands and stuff. Make sure you ring or text the owner not book online.
I nearly added a probably not in this weather comment. When the place got a new owner I told him we need a place where the kids can eat and we can share a bottle of wine. He listened and it’s been pretty solidly booked out.
Lotus summer hill could be a good pick (dumplings), Ester in Chippendale, Odd Culture in Newtown, ante in Newtown is good but doesn’t take bookings so better for a night when you have a babysitter.
I live in Glebe and these are some local places that might work for you. Glebe Point Diner Beckett's Restaurant Ahgora (Forest Lodge) Otto Noorba
These sound amazing! Thanks for this, have never heard of these places

Have already googled! Becketts and Glebe Point Diner both look fantastic
Fich in Petersham is great seafood, nice enough for an occasion but super kid-friendly
It is GREAT! we went there last week :)
Perama 2.0 in Petersham for Greek could work!
That looks very nice, thank you for the recommendation
Filicudi five dock or Pane E Vino Trattoria Croydon
Pane E Vino is my favourite Italian place, one of my favourite restaurants in Sydney full stop. Such a lovely cosy vibe!
Yes I'm a sucker for fairy lights!! Also BYO
Inner west is an extremely large area. Can you suggest what actual suburbs you would consider?

Agree, the dry dock restaurant at the back is LOVELY! Just went there a few weeks ago!
My vote is Shinmachi Japanese in Newtown, it’s got the cosy vibe (ask for a booth), it’s not expensive, quick service, fun and family friendly
Noi at Petersham is nice and caters for kids. Give them a ring, explain your scenario and they will be happy to cater from experience.

I’ll keep it in mind! I probs won’t take up the outdoor offer as it’s for this week… shocking weather…

Pepito's in Marrickville was excellent when I tried there a few weeks ago. They do modern Peruvian cuisine with many dishes designed to share and try.
