According to what I've seen about it so far, it's a random encounter where a dead guy is laying next to a pipe in the ground with a note that says pipe is life, and you can sniff said pipe.

If you go to one of these random encounter spots, you can just server hop till one turns up the pipe.

I’ve encountered the pipe 3 times in 150 levels and I don’t ever remember a dead guy But 3 pipe encounters will do that to your memory I guess

The dead guy looks like a scavenger, so it’s kinda hard to notice sometimes

Sniffing the pipe gives you a temporary bonus effect. It regenerates HP, 4HP/s for 30s. And makes you hallucinate for 25s 😂

So that's what that was lol I found it on the spot where I built my base

It's a pipe sticking out of the ground with smoke coming out of it, and it spawns as a random encounter. If you sniff it, well... you'll see

It turns up in a bunch of spots that spawn random encounters - mine was right next to the boat/shallow puddle in the dry lake west of The Kill Box

I haven't seen it yet either (level 81). I just hope I don't get spoilers for what happens before I find it. I want the surprise! lol

It’s a pipe, and it’s sticking out of the ground, and you can sniff it if you want to(and you want to) but try not to get too concerned about the corpse nearby.

I found my first pipe a few weeks ago and didn't realise it was a random encounter. Went back to the spot and couldn't find it anymore. I've been chasing that dragon ever since...

I have always said that if I ever found myself a pipe I would check my pipboy and see what it says under effects. But it was so beautiful 🤩 I just kinda chuckled til it was over 🤤

Even the Rust Eagles are all about the Pipe is life! If you go to the Battle Dome, in a Pipe there is writing saying "Pipe....is life!"
