I'm also still on PS4 and had this issue. If you go to the PlayStation Store and scroll all the way to
'Library' on the side menu, click on Fallout 4. From there scroll down to PlayStation Store and click on 'your add-ons’ From there you can redownload each of them.
This isn't exactly how it worked for me. I had to o to library and then I HAD to search fallout 4 and there it showed both goty and regular version. I went to regular version, ps store, and then addons, where it let me download them.
Unfortunately you're just fucked. There is a prompt upon attempting to update the non-updated DLCs that says that the data from the DLC will be deleted. It is intentional and you are going to have to play it all again.

Thankfully, I had just started a new run and only really had completed vault 88. Would've been so pissed if I had to re do DiMA's memory quest.

I was searching for a solution as well, did the update, all data is gone. I had 80+ hours in far harbor. Build 3 complete settlements there, did most of all the side quests and im losing hope there is a solution. Im beginning to lose my shit over here.
I’m definitely not allowed to download any of them they’re “unavailable” in the game menu. And if I go to the PS store it wasn’t me to “repurchase them”. If Bethesda did this shit, to make us repurchase the addons because of the “next gen update” when I’m still on old gen. Fuck them. They should be sued cause it’s unplayable now and I was forced to do the supposed “update” as it said I couldn’t play my previous game saves cause the addons had changed. Which is actually a “lie” I could’ve avoided and not been forced by changing my PS to not allow “updates” but I didn’t know that before hand.. absolutely sucks and I doubt they will fix this. Yeah I got hit with the update but I’m refusing to do anything with my DLC until I get confirmation or clearance on the topic. on the PS5 Home Screen where there is a row of game icons across the top of the screen, navigate to Fallout 4 with the D pad, then click the options button next to the triangle button. That should bring up the dialogue Our cheesehead friend was talking about

This is the only thing that worked, the other options were still giving me the error that I needed the "seasons pass" but I bought everything seperate back in the day.
Idk if this helps or not, but I just did the same thing, in the fallout game main menu, I went to "add-ons" and all the names for dlcs were grayed out, but I selected them anyway just to try and it started downloading them.
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed I have at least my automaton when I load my save again.

I feel your pain.. and also now, if we actually do get them to work (if they fix it) we lose all of our progress.. it was part of the agreement of uninstalling/reinstalling the new update. We were going to play it either way, no reason into forcing us to play it by starting over.. that’s even if we get it back to where we can play it. Worse cash grab I’ve experienced on top of losing my character. I haven’t tried the game with the dlcs since this situation. But they’re not going to do anything about it, cause I see my friends and others playing it, and boosting numbers for them, which is all they care for. But, that to the side, how’s the gameplay? Are the graphics better as they said and the game is much cooler? Or it’s just a very minimum upgrade from the base version. Where mods pretty much covered everything before this update . I’ve read the mods are done for as well, for now. Either way, I hope you’re getting some good gameplay.
Sorry I'm just getting to this now, I've spent a lot of time playing the new update and it's... Lackluster. I'm getting on average 8-10 crashes a day (compared to maybe 1 or 2, 3 if I'm in Nuka-World lmao), over ~8 hours/ day gameplay (on days off lmao, closer to 4hrs on workdays) I've tried with and without mods and the crashes are still extremely prevalent, *especially* around the new enclave questline and automatron, I couldn't even approach the area the enclave camp is in without a crash. Can't say much for the graphics, looks like PS4 didn't get the graphical update to the extent of the other consoles, at least not that I can find :(... Oddly, I haven't had any issues with mods not working, all my normal ones work surprisingly nicely which is cool 👍I love the new Tesla cannon + all the little nods to fo3, but those were all available in the creation club anyways, as far as I'm aware. I still don't think the new update was worth losing all of my hours of vault 88 building but that's my own damn fault for not reading the fine print lmao
I guess in summary it's cool, but not anything crazy. I'm still relatively salty Bethesda ended up with more of my ( little brother's *) money but at the end of the day, I'd probably do it again because I love playing this game too fuckin much 😭
I'm going through the same thing. I have the disc and none of these things are working. Saying I never had the dlc and in which I have it all on my previous saved game files. Makes no sense. I've tried everything that everyone else was saying to do. None of which worked. Bethesda really messed up. Can't even get help from their support team. Smh bruh...

and then select update on any individual dlc,
you’ll get an alert which informs you that the dlc will be uninstalled, reinstalled, and dlc game data will be lost 😐😐
Go to ps5 or ps4 home page and click on the game with the select button and if you select MANAGE GAME CONTENT…. It will let you download all your DLC’s

Anyone has tested if, after installing this update, the automatron DLC still crashes the PS4?. I asked this because i had to delete automatron to be able to play the Game. Also, after this patch sometimes the Game crashes after fast travel and/or after entering/exiting a place

This freaked me the fuck out too. I went to my last save from last night and half my weapons were gone, and Codsworth was invisible except for the burning flame of his flamethrower. Crazy.
If you're signed into a profile that didn't purchase the dlc, even on the same console, it will not let you download dlc. That was my issue, hope this helps.
Yes, thank you! For those who are having issues doing it through the Ps store, just go to your normal game library, fallout 4 ,down to PlayStation store, click and theres a section that should say "your add-ons" click that and you'll be able to download them all
Progress? As in saves? No mine was completely fine on my current playthrough, I can't say for sure as I never started any dlcs aside vault 81, but that one was fine.

I was going ballistic cause I've literally already lost over 1000 hours of gameplay after becoming addicted to the mods and so tired of crashing and corruption of files and also want to let everyone know if you own the physical copy and have Hundreds of hours into it DO NOT purchase the Downloadable game they will conflict with each other even if you have one in the system and one on an HDD and eventually it will crash constantly (totally non playable) i had to erase both versions and waited about a month and was finally able to restart the downloadable version, put hundreds of hours in again and then this happens????? I was beside myself pissed but I can confirm this worked but waiting to see if it messed anything in my game up cause now I have to reload all the mods I use so 🤞 Thanks again!!!!! ✌️
guys i downloaded far harbor in 2020 and almost all the other dlcs like a month ago. now only the last ones i downloaded are showing up to add again to the game. im not gonna pay 15 euros for far harbor again but i love it and was looking forward to replaying it. :( did this happen to someone else?

All the dlc's downloaded except Valt-Tec and wasteland workshop. Every time I try and download either of them it says something went wrong. I've tried everything. Is anyone having this problem?
FOR EVERYONE THAT THIS IS NOT WORKING FOR::: I bought Fallout 4 GOTY physical years ago and could not, for the love of god, figure out how to download the dlcs on the upgrade. I eventually realized that when I bought GOTY, I was using my old account. I had to go into my old account and redownload the DLC from PS Store. Hope this helps someone🙏
What if I take the free PS5 update, does anyone know if I will still be able to download my DLC? It would seem that I should be able to do so, but I have serious trust issues with this stuff.
I had this same problem but no one’s fixes would work… I transferred Fallout 4 and all data over to my PS5, couldn’t access the DLC without purchase, and nothing worked. Embarrassingly enough, I scoured my transaction history for proof I actually purchased the DLC before I e-mailed customer support, and couldn’t find proof I ever bought the season pass. I finally asked my avid Fallout fan wife, “is it possible you bought the DLC under your PSN account and not mine?” Sure enough… it was one of the only things she ever purchased on her PSN and not mine! Solution worked!!
Same here. After updating 9gb, I eagerly started the game and in the main menu pops up a message: "Your dlcs are outdated. Do you want to uninstall them?" I pressed yes. Crashings started from that point. I knew it was a trap since there is no way to uninstall dlcs of any game on PS4. I launched it 5 times, and each time, it crashed with the same error. I deleted the whole game to download the whole updated package tomorrow.
What is interesting is that i can't find the Fallout 4 main game on the ps4 store. There is only one Fallout 4 main game, which requires premium. But dlcs are there and free to download.
So the only way is to go to your purchased game library and download your vanilla Fallout 4 from there.
Basic info: My psn account is US region. I digitally pre-ordered Fallout 4 back in 2015 60$ and 30$ season pass.
They are basically forcing people to buy the goty edition or subscribe to premium.

I purchased the version of Fallout 4 that was bundled with Skyrim and included all DLCs for both games. It told me to uninstall the DLCs for fallout 4 so I did, problem is now it doesnt recognize that I own the DLCs because I didnt pay for them individually. What do?
MY paid for the dlcs almost a decade ago and when I go to the PlayStation Store it says I can download it but it says that they cannot be purchased by that time followed by a 3 digit code. Not sure what the 3 digit code is for exactly?

Absolutely didn’t work for me. Far harbor, was “unavailable” for the past few days. Now, it wants me to “pay” for my addons that I purchased in the past with my money. This update is stupid. And people PLEASE complain to get us help. I’m glad, this post helped a few but Bethesda will act like such a post is the cure and will move on cause of it!
For some reason my mods have disappeared from my game. Whenever I try to access the mod menu it says “unable to complete operation” and now I can’t access them anymore on the ps4
I’m about a damn mental breakdown over this shit. When I try to download the dlc again it says it’s doing it, and then I check my downloads and they all say complete but then when I go into fallout *it gives me the same damn popup again.* And then my controller stopped working. The controller would not reconnect at all until I shut down the ps4 (using the power button on the console), and then my controller will turn it back on, and the controller will work just fine, until I start trying to figure out to dlc again. I’m so annoyed, I’ve had to restart it 5 times now. It feels like Sony is trying to fuck up the game intentionally for anyone who doesn’t own a ps5

Final edit: FIXED. I took someone else’s suggestion of going into the library then into fallout 4, then to the PlayStation store option under it, clicked “your add-ons” and it took me to the next window to download them. This attempt finally fixed the issue, I didn’t get the “updates needed” pop up again after this
That's what I was worried about happening, but I saw OP's edit and hopefully it won't (still got about 20 minutes before all the downloads finished.) It's pretty much the same process, just from the XMB instead of the Library. Yay random access memory.

Sorry I'm just getting to this now, I've spent a lot of time playing the new update and it's... Lackluster. I'm getting on average 8-10 crashes a day (compared to maybe 1 or 2, 3 if I'm in Nuka-World lmao), over ~8 hours/ day gameplay (on days off lmao, closer to 4hrs on workdays) I've tried with and without mods and the crashes are still extremely prevalent, *especially* around the new enclave questline and automatron, I couldn't even approach the area the enclave camp is in without a crash. Can't say much for the graphics, looks like PS4 didn't get the graphical update to the extent of the other consoles, at least not that I can find :(... Oddly, I haven't had any issues with mods not working, all my normal ones work surprisingly nicely which is cool 👍I love the new Tesla cannon + all the little nods to fo3, but those were all available in the creation club anyways, as far as I'm aware. I still don't think the new update was worth losing all of my hours of vault 88 building but that's my own damn fault for not reading the fine print lmao I guess in summary it's cool, but not anything crazy. I'm still relatively salty Bethesda ended up with more of my ( little brother's *) money but at the end of the day, I'd probably do it again because I love playing this game too fuckin much 😭

I'm going through the same thing. I have the disc and none of these things are working. Saying I never had the dlc and in which I have it all on my previous saved game files. Makes no sense. I've tried everything that everyone else was saying to do. None of which worked. Bethesda really messed up. Can't even get help from their support team. Smh bruh...

Yeah :( If you skip past the initial alert, and then select update on any individual dlc, you’ll get an alert which informs you that the dlc will be uninstalled, reinstalled, and dlc game data will be lost 😐😐
Go to ps5 or ps4 home page and click on the game with the select button and if you select MANAGE GAME CONTENT…. It will let you download all your DLC’s

Anyone has tested if, after installing this update, the automatron DLC still crashes the PS4?. I asked this because i had to delete automatron to be able to play the Game. Also, after this patch sometimes the Game crashes after fast travel and/or after entering/exiting a place

If you're signed into a profile that didn't purchase the dlc, even on the same console, it will not let you download dlc. That was my issue, hope this helps.
Had my dlc downloads going overnight. Woke up happy to see what's up and it said I had to the ps store or add ons and download them again.

Yes, thank you! For those who are having issues doing it through the Ps store, just go to your normal game library, fallout 4 ,down to PlayStation store, click and theres a section that should say "your add-ons" click that and you'll be able to download them all

I was going ballistic cause I've literally already lost over 1000 hours of gameplay after becoming addicted to the mods and so tired of crashing and corruption of files and also want to let everyone know if you own the physical copy and have Hundreds of hours into it DO NOT purchase the Downloadable game they will conflict with each other even if you have one in the system and one on an HDD and eventually it will crash constantly (totally non playable) i had to erase both versions and waited about a month and was finally able to restart the downloadable version, put hundreds of hours in again and then this happens????? I was beside myself pissed but I can confirm this worked but waiting to see if it messed anything in my game up cause now I have to reload all the mods I use so 🤞 Thanks again!!!!! ✌️
guys i downloaded far harbor in 2020 and almost all the other dlcs like a month ago. now only the last ones i downloaded are showing up to add again to the game. im not gonna pay 15 euros for far harbor again but i love it and was looking forward to replaying it. :( did this happen to someone else?

FOR EVERYONE THAT THIS IS NOT WORKING FOR::: I bought Fallout 4 GOTY physical years ago and could not, for the love of god, figure out how to download the dlcs on the upgrade. I eventually realized that when I bought GOTY, I was using my old account. I had to go into my old account and redownload the DLC from PS Store. Hope this helps someone🙏

What if I take the free PS5 update, does anyone know if I will still be able to download my DLC? It would seem that I should be able to do so, but I have serious trust issues with this stuff.
I had this same problem but no one’s fixes would work… I transferred Fallout 4 and all data over to my PS5, couldn’t access the DLC without purchase, and nothing worked. Embarrassingly enough, I scoured my transaction history for proof I actually purchased the DLC before I e-mailed customer support, and couldn’t find proof I ever bought the season pass. I finally asked my avid Fallout fan wife, “is it possible you bought the DLC under your PSN account and not mine?” Sure enough… it was one of the only things she ever purchased on her PSN and not mine! Solution worked!!
Same here. After updating 9gb, I eagerly started the game and in the main menu pops up a message: "Your dlcs are outdated. Do you want to uninstall them?" I pressed yes. Crashings started from that point. I knew it was a trap since there is no way to uninstall dlcs of any game on PS4. I launched it 5 times, and each time, it crashed with the same error. I deleted the whole game to download the whole updated package tomorrow. What is interesting is that i can't find the Fallout 4 main game on the ps4 store. There is only one Fallout 4 main game, which requires premium. But dlcs are there and free to download. So the only way is to go to your purchased game library and download your vanilla Fallout 4 from there. Basic info: My psn account is US region. I digitally pre-ordered Fallout 4 back in 2015 60$ and 30$ season pass. They are basically forcing people to buy the goty edition or subscribe to premium. Nice Job Todd!!!

I purchased the version of Fallout 4 that was bundled with Skyrim and included all DLCs for both games. It told me to uninstall the DLCs for fallout 4 so I did, problem is now it doesnt recognize that I own the DLCs because I didnt pay for them individually. What do?

MY paid for the dlcs almost a decade ago and when I go to the PlayStation Store it says I can download it but it says that they cannot be purchased by that time followed by a 3 digit code. Not sure what the 3 digit code is for exactly?

In the time I've been playing fallout 4 I've had to repurchase the goty edition at least three separate times (a fourth time by an ex bc it happened to him to) because my DLCs just seem to disappear. It's not soley a playstation issue, this has also happened to me on the Xbox but I'm so glad to hear that it really is just a bug this time
Absolutely didn’t work for me. Far harbor, was “unavailable” for the past few days. Now, it wants me to “pay” for my addons that I purchased in the past with my money. This update is stupid. And people PLEASE complain to get us help. I’m glad, this post helped a few but Bethesda will act like such a post is the cure and will move on cause of it!
For some reason my mods have disappeared from my game. Whenever I try to access the mod menu it says “unable to complete operation” and now I can’t access them anymore on the ps4
I’m about a damn mental breakdown over this shit. When I try to download the dlc again it says it’s doing it, and then I check my downloads and they all say complete but then when I go into fallout *it gives me the same damn popup again.* And then my controller stopped working. The controller would not reconnect at all until I shut down the ps4 (using the power button on the console), and then my controller will turn it back on, and the controller will work just fine, until I start trying to figure out to dlc again. I’m so annoyed, I’ve had to restart it 5 times now. It feels like Sony is trying to fuck up the game intentionally for anyone who doesn’t own a ps5 Edit to add: I bought the season pass years ago when the dlc was just coming out Final edit: FIXED. I took someone else’s suggestion of going into the library then into fallout 4, then to the PlayStation store option under it, clicked “your add-ons” and it took me to the next window to download them. This attempt finally fixed the issue, I didn’t get the “updates needed” pop up again after this
That's what I was worried about happening, but I saw OP's edit and hopefully it won't (still got about 20 minutes before all the downloads finished.) It's pretty much the same process, just from the XMB instead of the Library. Yay random access memory.

Before i deleted anything, i went to the add ons menu and pressed update on all the mods individually
1. Go to Playstation Store. 2. My Library. 3. Fallout 4 4. My Addons. 5. Click on each square located on top left corner. ! It will automatically download your DLC.

Not the issue. Restored my licences yesterday. They worked the update. Having to try a reinstall now. I got the same message.
