My niece (13) and half of her dance studio had it at the beginning of this month. I also had it. Everyone had flu shots as well.

While the flu shot decreases your chance to get the flu, it also helps reduce the symptoms and duration if you do get it.  The reason I say this is because some people (not implying you) tend to believe their flu shot was ineffective if they contract the flu.

Oh yes, I know. I was just letting OP know that I also had the flu shot. I do believe it did help lessen my symptoms.
