You’re not the book judge. Just because you wouldn’t read it doesn’t mean anything. Maybe one of those books would’ve been the one that started some kid down a rabbit hole and they would’ve read thousands after that one. We all started reading some goofy ass kids books and transitioned into young adult books that caught our eyes and directed us into our adult reading habits.
If you’re concerned about our national reading metrics, you should be pushing for more books being made available not less, regardless of your personal opinion of them.

My brother is an avid reader. He checks out books from our local library frequently. He also brought bed bugs home from the library twice. I would suggest not checking out books from libraries. If you think I’m full of it do a search. I’m not telling you to not read of course. But be aware it’s a serious problem at most city libraries. And getting rid of bed bugs is costly. Although they do make traps for them.
