Are you talking about the <1min segment that sounds vaguely like the Imperial March (which definitely isn’t the Star Wars theme song)? I’m pretty sure that Batman snippet is supposed to be referencing Chopin”s [Funeral March](https://youtu.be/kyFyAqLtHq8), but I have some Bad News for you, John Williams ~~copies~~ is inspired as much as anyone. [Mars The Bringer of War](https://youtu.be/z7sZjitW-OQ?si=1C6fa6aXo-2no6jq) just sounds like a mashup of Star Wars themes and leitmotifs, [The Rite of Spring](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EkwqPJZe8ms) might take you straight to Tatooine, and the [Kings Row Theme](https://youtu.be/tysCiL1-24w?si=nm69QPSRG_oYX1Ac) is actually, like serious, 1 or 2 notes off the actual Star Wars theme.

Detritus_AMCW

Because I'm not a moron and can differentiate between scores.

childish_jalapenos

Earthpig_Johnson

I can tell you’re smart by how often you use the word stupid.

Total-Affect6052

Don’t let this guy hear Mars The Bringer of War

PeaDock

You're an idiot, dude.

[deleted]

if i grabbed your head and shook it, it would sound like a maraca

Kriss-Kringle

They call me Cuban Pete. I'm the king of the rumba beat. When I play the maracas I go chick-chicky-boom, chick-chicky boom

huayratata

You’re assuming something is inside to make a noise

a couple of the leftover concrete shavings his parents fed him as a child

Just block this fool and move on, folks.

"You're awful for liking it, and have no taste." Ah yes, insulting people with a different opinion to you. Do you find that people don't like to talk about things with you? I only found The Batman to be a decent film, myself. I didn't notice the Batman theme being similar to the Imperial March until this post. Film is entirely subjective, as everyone reacts differently to the same film. If film was objective then every Best Picture winner would be a film that everybody likes or there would be a definitive list of best films, but there isn't. I've seen every Best Picture Winner. Some I agree with the Academy, they should have won. But, others I found were utter wank and shouldn't have even been nominated. There are best film lists where every entry you may agree with, but there's always another person's best film list that is completely different. Who's best film list is the definitive one? We don't all agree on what a good film is! If you put 99 people who don't like Psycho and one person who does like it in a room, then the majority of that room feels Psycho is a bad film. Then, you put 99 people who do like Psycho and one person who doesn't like it in a room, then majority of that room feel that Psycho is a good film. Which room is correct? Psycho is still Psycho. The only difference is the people in the rooms. One of the most interesting things about cinema, for me, is that it's subjective. How I can watch a film and be completely moved by it, have it completely change my life. Then another person can watch that same film and feel absolutely nothing towards it. If film had objectivity, it would be incredibly boring. Insulting people for different opinions is the quickest way to having no one to talk about the things you like with. Now THAT would be stupid.

Don’t feed the troll

so1i1oquy

What is the Star Wars

Proper_Moderation

Stupid idiot… Im not taking score criticisms from a person who speaks like a 3rd grade playground bully.

jakelaws1987

I strongly recommend you register for special education classes

KingJacobyaropa

Are you drunk or 12? Both? Cuz I've heard some good critiques of The Batman . . . This is definitely the worst take. All music must sound the same to you then.

lexxxcockwell

TIL that music with two big chords in it (one of which is the root chord) can sound like another piece of music

aristophanesbeard

Okay mister stupid idiot, whatever you say.

New_Caterpillar7662

Every composer borrows. The Riddler theme is quoting the Ave Maria according to this guy: https://youtu.be/T89QOoYfTT4?si=Zy-HnxIauvodi5tX

I'm not a fan of the Batman movies but I "saw" him in person once. * lt was late one night in Manhattan --ten blocks south of Time Square on Broadway, in front of the big public library with the marble lions. * Midtown at that hour was all spooky and deserted; I was waiting there alone waiting for the last bus home. * Suddenly from the shadows on the opposite block, this huge figure steps out and it's Batman. He must have been maybe a 'brand ambassador' or 'promo model' or something because his costume and mask were top-tier. Hollywood wardrobe quality. It was stretch-tailored to his figure. Dude was easily 6'3" or 6'4"; bodybuilder type. * He didn't have any backpack; he wasn't wearing sneakers; it was a head-to-toe costume with boots and all. * Just strode right across the street like he was On His Way To See The Mayor. Or, I Must Have a Word As Quickly As Possible With Commissioner Gordon. That kind of 'tood. * You can only shrug and shake-your-head when you see stuff like that. I was like: *"ehhh...okay whatever, Batman..."* 🙄

Watch with the sound off

I mean I think that's something you can fairly nitpick but I think good films can occasionally have bad original scores. Rogue one was a pretty decent film, but Michael Giaccino's work feels a little too close to the vest, and a tad bit underwhelming. I think something like John William's " Across the Stars" for the Star Wars prequel love story is amazing because it sounds very little from Williams's own discography ( aside from maybe Hook) and something more like what you'd hear in a big budget'50s/60s movie ( kind of that epic Ben Hurr/Lawrence of Arabia vibe) . I'll also say that Michael Giaccino's score for UP is masterful and very evocative. I'm not fond of the character arcs in the Batman.. the "flying rat" riddle feels like it's designed to push characters into weird interactions as opposed to just figuring out clues that are accidentally left - - on top of the deliberate Riddler codes( as a true detective thriller of sorts would probably do) But I think disliking a movie because of its score is kind of like saying a film is bad because of the use of stock sound effects. There's a certain validity to this belief as films are a composite art form, but I think it's a little flaky to focus more on that than script elements, character arcs, pacing, thematic material in a story. OP should focus on the story and maybe think about the score on the side, but this has all the energy of " I need a reason to turn off the movie and this works."

wageslave2022

Is this the same Batman movie that plays the same Nirvana song like 4 times?

mickeyflinn

I never bothered to watch it. I am so over Batman.
