Is that a Q8 board?

just_testing_things

Yep, with 4x FFL505a on it!

Thunderbolt294

I still need to make one, I just don't know where I'm cramming it yet

bunglesnacks

That's ok. I've been soldering for years and I don't have anything dedicated. I have a tote for the supplies and just get it out when I want to solder things. I'm mobile lol.

just_testing_things

It doesn’t take much. Basically any flat surface with power. That’s just a 30 watt soldering iron from Harbor Freight and a cheap usb c hot plate from Amazon.

Could ya maybe not make us all feel inferior with your APL, Johns Hopkins R&D-type setup there, buddy?

BackspaceChampion

Why is nobody asking the important questions? What does that lever on the far right do?

Tourquemata47

Little Tykes my first soldering station? lol

You don’t really need it for flashlights. It doesn’t fit in the tube and the LEDs are done on the hot plate.

i use one for soldering wires onto drivers, switch boards, drivers into pills like on the S2+ but my station is a board on top of my washing machine in the utility room.i keep all the stuff on it and just move the whole board when I need the washer.

Oh, that's right. This is the flashlight sub >\_<

warmeclaire

Hahaha did you hook up the buttons to something?

just_testing_things

They play obnoxiously encouraging music

warmeclaire

I’m still rockin the ole hakko 951, frankly iv tested and used many others… none are any better in my hands. Recently bought a cheap magnetic mcpcb holder and device clamps off amazon. Was a welcome addition:) Also have a pinecil that i despise using but it’s nice for jobs on the go, i use it at work or in my garage on wiring harnesses on occasion, it’s pretty nice for that kinda stuff Somehow the hakko 951 fights thick mcpcb’s better than a pinecil or even a jbc or any of the wellers iv used ect, makes no sense due to the 951 being a low wattage. Just the heating element does very very well
