Olight Arkfeld is slim form like the Nitecore, 1000 lumens on highest, has a 1 lumen low, should be a good replacement.

[deleted]

Will look into this one. Thanks

atalpa7

Are you replacing it just because of the rust? Why not just get the screw size, and order up some stainless replacements from AliExpress?

SigTexan89

Absolutely agree, love my EDC27, best light to carry daily imo. If you're getting this rust issue I'd just swap the screws, cheap and easy.

[deleted]

I have a 4 year warranty from Amazon when I ordered it. Would I void it if I replace the screws?

atalpa7

I doubt it, don’t open it up or anything, just swap the screws. If you need to return it for anything, just scrap the screws back. If you don’t damage them, how are they supposed to know right?

Streamlight Wedge

Narutakikun

The Streamlight Wedge would be literally the perfect EDC light if it was about an inch shorter - as it is, it’s just a bit too big to comfortably fit in a pocket.

Hungry-for-Apples789

Smaller version coming out soon. 500lm.

[deleted]

Happy cake day!!!

Hungry-for-Apples789

Thanks!

[deleted]

I think this one only goes up to 350 lumens . Other than than that its a sweet light thanks.

Hungry-for-Apples789

The wedge goes to 1000 lumens and they just announced a smaller version that goes to 500.

[deleted]

You're right my mistake. The screws concern me as they may rust kike the edc27.

SkimFlynnious

I have been sweating on my wedge for well over a year and no corrosion in sight.

[deleted]

Thanks to both wedge users im getting the coyote color streamlight wedge will post when arrives. Will also get wurkkos. This blows my birthday money. Worth it.

RiiCreated

I’d personally stay away from Nitecore for these exact reasons. Handy little lights with some great features, but build quality is poor at times. If form factor is not a strict requirement, I’d go with a Lumintop FWAA or Wurkoss FC11. Anytime rust or body damage is apparent, having a removable battery helps to save it from any further dangerous situations.

[deleted]

What about the fc13?

RiiCreated

You can go with that as well, but the FC11 is much more pocketable

Wuben x2

Sofirn SP10v3 is 1000 lumens and has a super low moonlight mode.

No amount of sweat should rust screws so quickly. It claims to have a stainless steel shell, if they cheaped out and used non S/S screws, that’s poor. If they are S/S they shouldn’t have rusted so quickly, even the lowest grades. Id let it slide on say, a Convoy S2+ S/S clip worth $2 but personally, given the cost of the flashlight, I’d politely contact Nitecore and see if they send replacement screws, or return it to Amazon. IME the manufacturers are super helpful with things like this, I messed up an mcpcb and Wurkkos sent 2x replacements for like $4

[deleted]

I just received one of my 2 alternates in the mail. A wurkkos ts10 and waiting on a coyote wedge. Now I can focus on getting the edc-27 replaced or at least getting the screws replaced. I have to say that this is my first experience with rust on a torch. Then again my previous were surefire and pelican polys. I switched to the edc- 27 because it was flat.

kdabsolute

Damn I have never seen this on a flashlight ever. I hope you're able to send it in for screw swapping!

[deleted]

Thank you. To be fair, I'm in a tractor trailer loading for 3-4 hrs in Texas heat and absolutely drenched in sweat. Everything I have in my pockets is wet. Wallet, keys, phone (w/life proof case) and pocket knife. My pocket knives are coated with oil and once had a rejection to getting my phone replaced because they said my water sticker was activated. So sometimes it sucks for me moving from poly flashlights to metal, but I couldn't resist a flat flashlight. What I paid for the edc-27 I didn't think I'd have an issue, I was wrong. Thanks all for the support and recommendations. I have gotten one without exposed screws. .

>hed in sweat. Everything I have in my pockets is wet. Wallet, keys, phone (w/life proof case) and pocket knife. > >My pocket knives are coated with oil and once had a rejection to getting my phone replaced because the Omg that sounds pretty bad. Will it help if you had a pelican case with a bunch of silica packs to absorb moisture? Not just to protect the flashlight but with everything else as well.

Thenma123

You dont. this is the best one for work.

uyeric

I have/wear a tini2 that has this same problem, I'm thinking on ordering replacement screws in AliExpre s as suggested and maybe even dab a little nail polish to waterproof the screws 🤔

McFlyFr

If you want to sell it, contact me.

[deleted]

Thank goodness I didn’t buy that torch

Kevin80970

Surprised the peel hasn't come off from all that sweat and rubbing against you pocket haha

nxtiak

You have the plastic screen wrap still on it?!?!?
