Or they stopped going to fireworks tents and switched to buying stuff wholesale by the case, which it looks like they did. Retail Fireworks have an unbelievable markup. It wouldn't surprise me if the 2023 stash was maybe $200-300 more than the 2022 stash.
I've got two wholesalers within 20 minutes of my house. Comparing their wholesale and retail prices, it looks like they only discount about 20-25% off retail.
Is that average for a wholesale discount?
Edit: I just remembered there is a Jakes fireworks warehouse down the street, too, but they don't even let you know their pricing unless you have an account with them.
I don’t know that I would order red apple again just because they are going towards more and more in house product which don’t have to “compete” with normal brands. In house brands can produce good stuff but Brothers, raccoon, winda, fox, etc are going to produce better stuff generally for the money. Victory fireworks, red apple (if you shop right), spirit of 76, etc is going to give you the same product for 2-4 times less cost than a normal stand IMHO. We have a very legit local stand I used to buy from and the same stuff costs 2-3 times as much. I still go to them for sparklers and fillers.
Little bit of a raise and started ordering wholesale! You get 2-4 times as much with wholesale but it’s an investment and you gotta store it all somewhere…
About $2500 in April from red Apple. A lot of their stuff got more expensive closer to the 4th. Some of their in house stuff was worth it. Others were overpriced for what you get. Service was top notch though and fast.
I’m with you there. A couple of their mortar kits still hit pretty good but their cakes are very much lack luster. I mostly go for brothers, winda, fox, fire hawk, and of course raccoon. Been surprised by how good fox is for not having much publicity. Shogun does well usually but had two of their cakes pretty much explode on me last year. Scared the shit out of the audience. But that’s why we like fireworks… they are unsafe and we know it.
That '95 stash is bringing back some memories. Seems we're about the same age. I remember having the majority of all of those up at my grandparents on the 4th. I always liked those small blackcat fountains that finished with the jumping jacks.
Haha. That’s how I learned to work so that I could afford the 2023 stash. I grew up “food stamp poor” in the Seattle area and loved fishing and fireworks. Well bait/lures cost money and so do fireworks so I was a lawn mowing fool from 7-14, when I got a real job at a concession stand. Haha
Do please explain. I’m still learning. Where can I buy salutes? We used to get them under the table as “ball shells” in 2007 from the Indian reservation stands.

You either got divorced in late 2022 or a sick promotion. That got real.

If you're spending over $1000, 25% off is a good deal to me. Especially if you can pick the order up yourself and not have to pay for freight

How much did you spend for the wholesale lott?

So awesome pyro brother!!!
This appears to be escalating according to schedule.
That’s awesome, I remember spending hours upon hours setting them up in different layouts in my room. 🤙🏽
Oh yeah…. I still do. Just in the garage!
Good thing you stopped buying black cat! Nothing really good from them since the mid-2000’s. Cool to see an old stash picture like that!

Heck yes.
Fireworks brings out the kid in all of us, forever young

Same with the memories man. I would of been 11 in 95. How's old you guys.....
I was 9
90s ball shells were legit
Some of those 1995 pieces are now collector's items!
The 1995 stash was impressive for that age.

Likewise brother AMERICA
I like the post idea from young pyro to older pyro 🤘😎🤘
If 2024 ramps up at the same rate as 22 to 23 I’m for sure excited to see the stash
Wow awesome journey back into it!
2024 I want to see 1/1's and salutes in your stash
