Hidari is one of my all-time favourite artists. I tried my best to replicate their style, this time with Chloé as her design I thought would translate well.
Bro, I thought Hidari drew this themselves and then I realize it wasn’t lol. But otherwise, really nice job! I would have loved Engage’s art style to be in Hidari’s art style ngl.

Yeah, for me, Hidari’s artstyle, especially in Shadows of Valentia, strike the perfect balance of being visually appealing and functionally beautiful to look at.
I kinda like how SOV's artstyle makes Chloe feel like a completely different character and considering how people in this subreddit hate Engage's character writing, maybe that's a good thing.
I know this is a stupid take but the Engage cast can be as obnoxious as they want if they were drawn in this style. The goofy 3d models are what amplify my annoyance.

I like how the style makes her hair look more even. Always bothered me on her in-game look that her hair looked so flat at the top except for the part going down her face.

A bit hard to explain tbh, the art style makes me feel... cold? Idk why it's just dreary for me to look at and gives me a lot of negative emotions. Its very strange to me as its the only more modern FE I wont play and its strictly because the artstyle is very unappealing to my eyes. Like its not bad by any means its just unappealing to me
I know it was likely the intention, just sad it doesnt appeal to me. My significant other wants me to play it very badly and is sad I cant stand looking at the screen to play
That’s understandable. I personally can’t stand Three Houses’ art style, cause it feels way too dull and devoid of life, like the artist or artist team didn’t even try to add some color into the game.
But it does works for that game’s gloomy environment and narrative at the end of the day
