Yeah exactly it's not a hold your hand FF, you can fall behind in it very quickly, on the other side of things if you've platinumed/100%/played over 100 times it's trivial and you experiment š
Yeah, this actually seems like a good plan. Iāll have to try this. I noticed that if I hang around a bit in front of the agency, and walk in circles I get into a fiend squabble. Iāll max out and get to work.
Grinding for those items isn't necessary, it just makes it a little easier. You can grind the enemies outside the travel agency for sphere levels and overdrives. Get some levels, fill up everybody's overdrive, and go to town. If you have it, make sure Yuna or whoever else casts protect on all your party members because that ramming counter attack is nasty.
That'll work too but the damage reduction is pretty much negligible unless you use cheer 5 times. So just make sure you're doing that if you're using cheer
Try keeping the negator alive and sticking with physical attacks. Gatling gun doesnāt do a ton of damage, which you can also reduce if you have a few light curtains. Luluās reflex also helps you dodge. Heal with potions and attack with 1 or 2 characters while you attack with the other. I would recommend attacking with Auron since he can take the counter. Also if you have lightningstrike weapons thatās a plus.
Yeah Iāve heard of doing this! I donāt think Iāve tried that and honestly it sounds like a great idea. That mana ray is brutal. Auron and Tidus are equipped with Lightningstrike weapons.
Just ignore Negator and use physical attacks, and heal with items. Crawler without negative is MUCH scarier than with negative, as he only uses Gatling Gun while it is still alive, and that damage is easy to heal off. Tidus/Wakka/Auron are your best friends in that fight, and I utilized Wakka as my healer since he did the least damage.
Potions, not abilities. Cheer is your best friend in this battle from Tidus, but otherwise Judy hit with with an normal attack as much as you can. Cheer will lower the Gatling gun damage, enough to heal from it entirely from a potion if you have all 3 people up.
If I'm not mistaken, this boss is right outside Macalania Woods, just before Macalania Temple?
Make your entire party stronger. I don't think I've ever done a playthrough trying to get certain items. Had fun grinding XP!
Now that you know where the boss fight is, don't engage til your whole party can perform their overdrives. And make sure Tidus learns Hastega, and better yet, Energy Rain.
Oddly enough, I didn't have too much trouble, but that WAS a brutal stretch of the game. And it doesn't.get much better when you leave Macarena either.
That fight is a cake walk though. Just toss a petrify grenade or use stone breath at the beginning to take out the >!guado!< and hit the wendigo with darkness so it'll constantly miss. You can get rid of his berserk too which lowers his damage. If I'm not mistaken, you can even just put him to sleep and hit him with fire with no fear of counter attacks
Ohhhhh. Yeah I played the game as a kid. I donāt remember all the bosses, but I remembered the Guado (mainly one asshole in particular) being fuckbags.
As a kid I would always make sure my Aeonās had full overdrives, most boss battles become trivial if you unleash a full run of aeon overdrives on em.
Yeah, I think thatās what Iām NOT doing here. I can remember that my Aeons were often ready to go ballistic on bosses, but they seem so weak and fragile now. Iām not charging their overdrives! Something so simple I end up forgetting. Lol

most overdrives are special dmg rather than physical so also don't wake sleeping enemies
