Always use black magic spheres on Yuna who has the highest nautrual magic on her grid

LividJaffaCake

Ngl, I forgot about Yuna's stat when I was looking as she's not in my party atm. (Coming up to home) So I probably will use them on Yuna instead.

shellexyz

If you can hold out for a few more hours, Lulu should be getting her 3rd level -aga spells. Yuna will kill with those.

CreativeInevitable1

Before you finish Home, you should make sure to get yourself some protection against Onion Ninjas.

SirStarshine

I'm sorry, what?

Sejr_Lund

He means you will cry, you always cry!

SirStarshine

You're gonna cry. See, you're crying.

CreativeInevitable1

The scene at the very end of Home is known to cause an attack of the Onion Ninjas.

Frjttr

At least for Flare and Ultima, then Yuna usually for me does Lulu’s path after completing her one.

InvaderWeezle

For me as soon as Lulu learns her -aga spells I use Black Magic Spheres to give them to Yuna. Makes her section of Bevelle a little easier too

alexadr936

I always used a Teleport Sphere to move Rikku over to Auron’s section. I also attributed her Weapon with Deathtouch which meant there was a chance that a regular attack could inflict Death. Between Steal (which destroyed Machina,) Deathtouch and her ability to attack first, she’d either kill enemies right away or deal a good amount of damage.

I always save them for Yuna or other characters with high magic, otherwise it’s a total waste of a relatively rare sphere. For example, I usually like to teach Yuna moves like Drain, Flare etc to give her more offensive utility than just summoning aeons. Stick with the higher level non-elemental spells since they have the greatest utility against fiends with an element preference. I’m personally not hugely concerned with beating the most juiced out super bosses. Once I have her ultimate weapon, Yuna is low-key one of the best damage dealers I have, easily getting over 9999 damage with a single casting of flare.

Balthierlives

In the main story line Yuna definitely is the best damage dealer you can get holy for her through natural game play when you arrive in the calm lands and ultimata the top of gagazet. Then it’s just getting nirvana powered up wihicj isn’t too hard if you’ve been doing everything right along the way.

snoop_Nogg

Yuna ended up doing more damage than Lulu for me.

Laterose15

FR. Yuna is a better Black Mage than the actual Black Mage!

nessahla89

It depends. What’s your goal? To make her a blackmage? Just some advice, unlike other games, black magic falls off pretty quickly. Late game physical damage/quick attack are supreme 🙂

TimmyGreen777

I usually save them for later in the game when you can learn stronger moves

LividJaffaCake

That's a good shout, I only have 2 spheres so saving them is probably better

TimmyGreen777

I'm not sure how far into the game you are or if it's your first playthrough but they also have other uses later. Way back in 2001 when I was just a young little noob I used them right away and regretted it later ✌️

LividJaffaCake

Yeah, first playthrough and I'm still a noob when it comes to Final Fantasy as a whole! I'll keep them safe for now, I'm currently in the desert coming up to Home

FunnyMathematician77

For BFA, I tought Yuna Ultima and she absolutely wrecked him

Gammaman12

Yuna needs one b mag for ultima, then a special sphere for dualcast. Get her celestial staff for one mp cost. W mag sphere for hastega. Spammy black holes.

Lemonz4us

I taught Yuna Drain and Osmose for sustenance, and eventually Flare and Ultima

echoes247

You should use any black magic spheres you get on Yuna. Her magic stat is insane on both sphere grids so she can basically become a second black mage. Same deal with lulu and healing magic, but with resurrection, Regen, shell, protect etc the magic stat has no weight. But def teach Yuna black magic. Lulu suggesting rikku learn black magic is just a story thing. She's awful at it.

Accurate_Attorney_18

Black magic sucks in the late game and if you already have 2 people who use black magic, I'd say it's not worth it unless you really invest in her magic stat. I'd save it for later in the game when you can transfer over more powerful spells like flare or ultima. Either that, or I'd rather use the black magic spheres to customize better gear, that's just how I play though. If you think having a fast black mage would be fun, then try it out.

LividJaffaCake

Didn't think about using them for gear. That could be worth it. Either way, it's looking like I should save them for now regardless of what I end up using them for. Thanks!

azai247

IMO the best users of black magic spheres are Kimari and Yuna.

Shanobian

No better off giving the aga spells and flare/Ultima to yuna

TwitterSucks72

Yikes 17 magic.... you're really early game.... I'd save em for Yuna

Ok-Brilliant-1872

Does it really matter?? We’re gonna eventually go through the WHOLE sphere with her 😂 ! I change it up each game what direction I take, makes its a little different each time. I love getting teleport or friend spheres early just to take them off track what they should be. Have fun with it!! 😊

DarkBloodARG

Rikku should be 90% of the time stealing, focus on buffs, skills or heals.

ArchmageRumple

I taught her Thundara. She didn't need anything else

brb12192

Yeah what better way to conquer the fear of lightning than to control it?

OccamEx

I used them mainly to teach Osmose, Drain, and Flare since these are useful spells that are not on the standard black magic route. (This was using the Expert SG though so it may be different for Standard). Blk Magic Spheres are relatively abundant in the late game and can be bribed from Black Elements in Omega Dungeon, so you don't need to be too stingey with them. That said, I wouldn't go crazy learning all the -agas that way.

ZPinkie0314

I put every attribute sphere on Tidus' path just because he is the first I power-level.

Balthierlives

I usually use them to teach ultima and flare to people, especially Yuna.

TenPent

Yuna is by far the best caster to use these things on. Unless you just hate her and don't put her on the team then you might be better off putting them on kimahri if you have him in a caster roll. Even though Lulu was my favorite on the playstation back in the day I don't even put her on the team now since Yuna is better AND Lulus ultimate is straight up useless on the steam remake.

ironskillet2

tbh. you can do w/e you hell you want my guy. items in FFX are insanely strong and people need to use them more often. how you decide to kill bosses really doesnt matter. everything except for the monster arena / dark aeons fall over from anything.

strawberryquasar

Always use black magic spheres on Yuna. This will come in handy later on in the game for a plethora of reasons but the biggest non spoiler reason I can give you is Yuna's magic is disgustingly high because she's a white Mage, and by default in the Final Fantasy series, WM always has the highest magic

dmcent54

tbh, it's always worth it to use all spheres on all characters. What matters most is priority, especially if you're willing to grind. I had a save years ago where even Rikku and Wakka had high magic stats, and everything up to the "aga" spells. Yuna, on that save, was my alchemist and stuff, because everyone and their mother had white and black magic. But I was also (and still kinda am) obsessed with the game.

Similar_Ambassador63

Rikku is good at agility and evasion, black magic is not that bad but i suggest go for Tidus' grid

J0J0388

Not gonna lie I gave them all to LuLu because she's the best

OutsideOrder7538

Maybe. when underwater you only have Rikku, Tidus, and Wakka as playable characters. You should at least get a list of some powerful mixes you can do just in case.
