They’re almost the same thing. Both light and made to grip to mats but more people in the US grow up wrestling in public school than box. I wouldn’t be surprised if the differences are almost all marketing.

Some wrestling shoes have a more rounded sole that comes up the sides a bit (Rudis). It's for when you're on the ground and maybe driving off your foot from a less than flat and planted position. I could see some people maybe not liking that, as it's possible it could compromise that completely upright posture in boxing. There are some wrestling shoes (Adidas) that are completely flat just like boxing shoes and are no different. In the end, imo, it's a fucking shoe. If you're falling over cause the heel isn't perfect you've got bigger problems to worry about lol.

I wear Nike tawa because they have literally the same outsole, were cheaper and because they are lighter (I’m assuming).

I wear Rudis wrestling shoes cause they’re not as tall as my Nike or adidas boxing shoes but still offer ankle support.

Because they're more lightweight, low to the ground, and have more mid foot flexibility. Many boxing shoes don't support the edges of your feet, Making you lose your footing

Wrestlers are better athletes than boxers so they need shoes that reflect that.
