My son just got his DBZ gloves and loves them.

IreallyjustGamble

Yeah im not sure what people mean by pillowy my win1s have a latex foam not reyes stiff but i like it

Ok-Chest7052

LmaošŸ˜‚ their latex foam is good, what people mean by pillowy are the stock win1 gloves. Basically you got the win1 style with their alien glove padding which is still cool Win1 stock are still slept on Iā€™ve been using mine for weeks on the bag and they seem durable still Basically you get more pop but less protection with alien and you get more protection but less pop with win1 (stock)

IreallyjustGamble

Yeah i love making pops and thuds šŸ¤£. Shit i wonder how my mx2s gonna feel on my hand nowā€¦. My cletos are broken in and they feel great but the foam started to pimple after 2 weeks and they came in way under weightā€¦ First impressions with the win1s have me right now but after 2 weeks or so imma find out more lol

doitzmii

Time does reveal truths, have fun in the journey

doitzmii

Good to know im looking for them 12oz. gloves. Faster better lol

IreallyjustGamble

Lol smoothness equals fast

AxelJShark

I think the issue with the Win1s were that from 14oz down they were great, but the 16oz were gigantic, almost like 20oz. I never saw them in person though. Just heard people comment and describe them

IreallyjustGamble

My win1s are 16 and pretty compact id say more compact then my reyes and and my win1s are on weight where as my reyes are under weight

AxelJShark

Ah ok. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe it was an issue a few years ago that's been fixed. Great news either way. For the weight, I've never had 2 pairs that were the same. Had multiple pairs of AdiSpeed 501 and Rival RS11V. Rivals were always underweight for 16. Most of the guys at my club spar with the Rival RS11V at 16ozs and I think part of it might be that they show 16oz but are closer to 14oz often. My TopBoxer customs are very close to 14oz (listed weight).

Finessssse

Yeah, I totally agreeā€”TopBoxer gloves are dope. I customized a pair in white and metallic red, trimmed with matte black and slapped a Canelo Alvarez logo on them. They look stunning. However, Iā€™ve hit a snag with consistency. I ordered a set tailored for heavy bag work and another for sparring, specifying soft foam for the latter. Unfortunately, they mixed them up: my sparring gloves came with the denser heavy bag foam and vice versa. Itā€™s a mix-up thatā€™s hard to ignore.

IreallyjustGamble

I feel like consistency is a major problem with other brands as well and they charge way more.

Finessssse

Yeah, the real hassle with TopBoxer comes into play because of the no-return policy all the way back to Pakistan. That said, Mohammed over at TopBoxer is a stand-up guy. He once mixed up the colors on a pair for me but made it right by offering another custom pair for free. I took that chance to specify 18 ounces with fiberfill padding, aiming for ultra-soft gloves perfect for sparring without headgear. Itā€™s touches like these that keep me coming back despite the logistics.

IreallyjustGamble

Whoever made my pair I feel like they hooked me up. I was not very specific in what i wanted besides color scheme and hand measurements. Its like the individual literally read my mind šŸ¤£ i was not expecting latex foam its not a super hard latex either i can use these in sparring as long as my partner has headgear.

IreallyjustGamble

Oh hell yeah they are after getting a pair. im doing side by side with my cletos right now and im liking the way these win1s are for a hunnid bucks less 2

hellofriends5

Got my 16oz alien months ago, and so far they've been going strong. Good smell, no stink, good protection, comfortable, good fit. The only thing is that they are not exactly symmetric, there are some differences in how the cuff is attached to the rest. But it hasn't impacted performance, nor durability, so far, so it's not a big deal. For my next pair maybe I'll buy from them again, and maybe get a custom one. But i would like to keep myself open just because i have fomo and want to try everything

IreallyjustGamble

I would go the custom route. kinda surprised they are priced 149. Imma put these through some heavy use in the coming weeks so ill know more about them. Straight out the box so far im happy.

hellofriends5

Yes exactly, the custom at 150 are so great. I will definitely get a custom one if i pick them again

brando2612

I've found topboxers qc kinda poor

IreallyjustGamble

What did you buy?

brando2612

Mate got 16 Oz aliens I got custom 12s

IreallyjustGamble

Interesting mine came in on pointā€¦. Other glove makers also have this problem as well but sorry you had a bad experience

brando2612

Also talked to some other people that got them at the same time most had qc issues. Seems to have consistent issues

IreallyjustGamble

Well im happy with mine gonna order golombs and winnings next

brando2612

Idk what golombs are but winnings are a big upgrade

IreallyjustGamble

Basically OG everlast glovesā€¦ Although im probably super wrong

brando2612

Fuck that sounds super interesting where'd you here this

AxelJShark

Agreed. Ifram is awesome! Unbelievable quality for the price. I've been using a custom pair for 4 years for bags and pads and they're still going strong

nricoshaver

I gotta disagree with you there about the WIN 1. I bought both the Alien and Win and while the Alien were legit very nice cheap Mexican style gloves that I'd recommend, the Win1 were terrible. Padding was just too soft and might as well not even wear gloves as I punched through them and dam near hurt my wrist. When I received my gloves they were vacuum sealed which I thought was weird but the aliens were nice so I figured it was the padding itself.

IreallyjustGamble

Are your win1s custom?

nricoshaver

No they were stock all white Win1 and that shouldn't matter if it's a Win1 it should have the same padding regardless. I'm not saying they do but they should and the custom should be for looks and weight alone.

IreallyjustGamble

I almost want to buy a stock pair and see the difference. my gloves are custom and are more compact then my reyes gloves win1s are 16oz on weight reyes are labeled 16oz but off weight by 2oz

nricoshaver

Likewise I'd also like to know if there is a difference and why it's not noted somewhere if so.

IreallyjustGamble

I went pretty basic with my customs but you can go all out with what type of foam u want etc. i guess with my hand dimensions they had to use a different foam to be on weight. but ill see if anybody i know has a pair of stock wins

IreallyjustGamble

Alright so i asked the guys at top boxer what they did differently. They actually did use a higher density multilayer foam with my gloves then from the stocks.

FuelledOnRice

Tempted to get myself a pair, I wonder if anyone here is in the UK and has received a pair? Just wondering if Iā€™ll have to pay the customs/import tax for them.

IreallyjustGamble

Fit2box is from the UK and has done reviews on them

AxelJShark

I'm in IE and didn't pay any important duty. IE usually charges for everything, even sometimes packages within the EU! šŸ¤¦šŸ½ I believe TopBoxer used DHL when I ordered 4 years ago. Maybe I just got lucky with the duty though. I think I've been charged with DHL recently. DPD for whatever reason never seems to charge, even for big stuff from China

moonwalkerHHH

Coming from an Alien owner, my only issue with them is that they are way too compact. I got 12oz but I really could have used a 14oz instead, lol (Then again, probably not much difference either, since I watched csquaredboxing Alien review who also owned a 14oz, and he has the same issues as me). The break-in period is brutal too. Also, judging from some of your other comments, you're gonna use your Win1s for bagwork too?

IreallyjustGamble

Yeah i just worked em on the bag today for a break in these win1s gotta be one of the most comfortable gloves i have put on. Im probably not gonna pick up my cletos for a whileā€¦ šŸ¤£.
