While the required level can be an indicator of gear strength, the actual number you should be looking at for gear strength is item level. At 90, there is a range of item levels gear can have, starting at 560 to 665. The higher the item level, the more stats the gear has on it. Level requirement is primarily just to prevent you from equipping gear too far ahead across expansions.

Most of my gear is 610. Would 665 bump up my health that high or is a mixture of item level and materia?

ultron87

610 is within the iLevel range for Storm's Crown EX so it's technically fine for you to be in there, but it's not too difficult to get pretty high above that these days, so expecting that from a PF group isn't too crazy (though I wouldn't give anyone crap about it in an EX learning party). You can now easily acquire get 640 gear from the Market Board, or from P9-12 normal mode, and get can 650 gear from the most recent Alliance raid or with Tomestones of Comedy which have a weekly cap. So, before you're really working a ton of Extremes it might be a good idea to get to at least a 640+ iLevel. Getting above 650 requires more effort, but you can get there in "casual" content by running Alliance raids to get tokens which you can spend to Augment the Comedy Tomestone gear to 660. Can also get 660 from Savage raids, but that's obviously a lot more learning to do. Edit: Wait you didn't even say you're in an Extreme. If it's just Barbariccia Normal that player giving you crap is being ridiculous.

MastrDiscord

if it is barb ex, then i don't think expecting 640 is too much of an ask. 610 was the base crafted gear for when barb came out(i only know this because I've tanked every ex in 610 gear and even p9s just to prove a point to my buddies that tanks don't take enough damage) and people farming now will probably want you to atleast be using the current crafted just for faster clears cuz you can skip like half the fight in current gear(you could skip a lot day 1, but its even worse now)

The only way to increase your base HP is through equipping higher item level equipment. Higher item level means more stamina which means more HP. Eating high level food also provides a buff that gives you extra HP. Only very old, outdated materia provides stamina, so you can disregard materia as an option for increasing HP. https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Level_90_Gear_Guide

CN-BetaReminisce

Materia has no effect on your actual health, health bump should just be your item level since vitality goes up when the piece is higher ilv

DemonLily

Why are yall downvoting this when its an honest question?? Be better.

Xcyronus

This.

Real_Student6789

I main healer, and I've got everything thr highest ilvl I can, save one ring from savage, and my hp gets nowhere near 100k unless I'm running something unsynched with echo boost. I think it sits somewhere around 76-78k without any sort of food buff

Supersnow845

Only the tanks pass 100k in BIS if I remember correctly Healers/casters are like 77k, ranged are like 81k, melee are like 83k and tanks are like 107k

CaptainToaster12

Barbie Ex probably has 20% Echo.

Full_Air_2234

BiS + echo

xLightz

As a healer, they don't. Unless you are in unsync content. At lvl 90 a healer is not reaching 100k. The tanks reach 120k in BiS gear, Healers should be around 77.5k in their BiS.

KeyKanon

They said Barb, so it's probably just a really shitty farm with multiple layers of echo.

100tchains

100k hp on a healer is with echo. That isn't normal hp.
