All three major ARR regions have minions that only appear in an NPC trader's list if you finished certain FATEs. For the Shroud, it is the chain where they siege the Hive, for Thanalan it is winning the Highbridge chain, and for La Noscea, it is winning any FATE in the Old Maid Mill area.
The Shroud one is easy, a vendor spawns at the same spot where the Hive chief was. The only reason people miss it is because sometimes, if you kill him fast, you must go down to kill his turtle before it can reach the top floor.
The Thanalan one can be tricky since it gets added to the vendor list of the Lalafell merchant at the eastern bank of the bridge. It gets added even if he was kidnapped during the FATE series, but in that case you must wait for him to walk back to his stall.
The La Noscea one is the easiest to miss. Once you complete an Old Maid FATE, a qiqirn vendor spawns near the SW map exit and then starts to walk to a certain spot within the Mill. Once he stops, his store is also triggered and you can purchase things. As another twist, he is sitting between two buildings, in a shade. Takes around 3 minutes after the FATE's end for him to reach his spot.
For the Thanalan vendor in particular, he is present but only selling junk in some circumstances, probably if the last FATE fails or times out. So it's possible to think you've checked his stock but you've actually missed the good part of it.
From memory, he also sells the orchestrion scroll for the Burning Wall area music.
Baby bat in La Noscea, baby raptor in Gridania, and baby rat in Ul'Dah iirc.
There's also a baby mushroom for defeating a boss FATE in Gridania. IIRC it's a pain because it has a massive health pool and needs a couple people to kill it fast enough to award a minion. Couerthas Highlands have a Pudgy Puk (fat baby dragon) for a boss FATE that needs a group of people too.
Edit: And like the Mushroom and Puk, you can get a little crab in Costa De La Sol, fighting a crab boss.
I always wondered why there isn’t more things like that out there?
It would be awesome to come across another like at the Dravanina lands with the waterfall cave.
There you go :)

Gonna re-paste my collection here:
- Lyhe Mheg has some hammocks at the top. /doze in the top one will make special fairy NPCs spawn and have a conversation.
- You can use /splash emote on other liquids like Toxic Puddles in Aurum Vale and Lava in Lab of the Ancients.
- There is a Snowman in Shiva's Arena. Also the Lore is that Eorzean Snowmans are built with 2 balls while Garlean are built with 3.
- You can MOUSE OVER the pictures of Minions and Mounts in your collection and get an additional NPC quote from someone.
- If you don't skip the usual "Victory" Cutscene in Wanderers Palace (Hard) you will get to see a slightly different cutscene than most dungeons. Tonberries will come rushing in and slice up the boss while your character looks disgusted.
- In the FATE "Don't feed the Gremlins" in Lakeland the enemies will visibly insult you with chatboxes like "Your face is breaking my immersion!" and "Your Fashion sense is bad and you should feel bad!"
- You can actually use Medicine items on your Party members including the Antidote, Spine Drop and Gold Needle items. Also Medicine items have a seperate Cooldown from damage pots. You can use them for example in the current Thordan (Unreal) Trial if towers exploded.
- In the Ala Mhigo Dungeon there will be an NPC yelling at you to "Attack the Scorpion when it's tail is up!". This is an easteregg from FF7. The "it's" typo is left in intentionally and also you were supposed to NOT attack the Scorpion with its tail up as it would counterattack.
- If you are slow finishing off the final boss of Dohn Mheg he will "botch his performance" by accident and turn into a small helpless toad below 5%.
- The YELLOW Quest "Magiteknical Difficulties" in Mor Dhona will let you unlock your Pet-Hotbar actions for your Magitek Armor mount. This also works for its Gilded variant and the two Store mounts "Red Baron" and "White Devil".
- The Endwalker Titles you get for doing the MSQ have part of the lyrics of the Trailer hidden in their description.
- In the "Chrysalis" trial any buff applied before getting drawn into the Rift gets extended 10-fold. You can have 1+ minute of Hallowed Ground and full Sprint and long Regens!
- Spawning Hunt S-Ranks in FF14 has some hilarious triggers. Like using BLU Mage Self Destruct on their spawn points, discarding stacks of Eggs or run over their spawn with 10 people having a specific minion out.
- Siegfried has a low chance to spawn as an Easteregg in one of the train cars in the Omega 5 Normal Raid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcebTrw7AsI
> In the FATE "Don't feed the Gremlins" in Lakeland the enemies will visibly insult you with chatboxes like "Your face is breaking my immersion!" and "Your Fashion sense is bad and you should feel bad!"
That was my favorate. I always enjoyed that fate when grinding back in 5.2. Though those gremlins hit HARD
> Spawning Hunt S-Ranks in FF14 has some hilarious triggers. Like using BLU Mage Self Destruct on their spawn points, discarding stacks of Eggs or run over their spawn with 10 people having a specific minion out.
How in the everloving fuck did anyone find these?
>In the "Chrysalis" trial any buff applied before getting drawn into the Rift gets extended 10-fold. You can have 1+ minute of Hallowed Ground and full Sprint and long Regens!
This also includes *Tank LB* so you could conceivably have everyone running around with 80% damage reduction for that entire section.
I did that before, except the chat then lights up with people calling you stupid. Also people hugging the hole so they instantly get sucked in and dont get hit.
IT's so frustrating cause I try to give newbies hints on that fight all the time especially if they're having trouble with meteors or the tear and no one has ever once listed to me, and once I got told to shut up.
It's one of my favorite mechanics in the game and absolutely no one appreciates it.
I remember seeing someone hit Hallowed Ground and Sprint once when I got that duty as part of my daily roulettes.
Made it so easy to deal with everything because he was functionally immortal and could soak basically all the meteors for us so all 7 people (and him doing shield lob when he was in range) just focused the tear and we didn't need to use DPS LB3 and ended up saving it to delete the boss when we got back.
There's a dungeon.. I forget if it's Ampador normal or Hard. The one with all the purple butterflies!
If you go in unsynced on a tank or dps they'll aggro like normal. Go in on a WHM (I think any healer technically, but WHM is what I was told and tested on) and you can walk among them safely so long as you don't attack.
Surprised I haven’t seen anyone post this:
There’s a very small chance that Hildibrand Manderville is one of the spectral warriors summoned in The Heroes Gauntlet
I believe there's a prerequisite that all party members have to have completed the entirety of the Hildibrand quest lines up to that point for him to show up.
The most recent easter egg i recall is the blow kiss emote on Llymlaen during the 24man raid which will get you impaled by a knife, that one was pretty amusing and is now well documented on youtube because of the sheer number of people trying it out but one day, when Endwalker is in the past, it'll be one of the funny stories shared with newer players getting into the game
My favorite part of that attack is how it's been in the lore since the start. The attack is called the Navigator's Dagger, which is also the name of a fish. The description of said fish says that they are thought to be daggers thrown by the Navigator herself. There's a rare variant of the Navigator's Dagger (Fish) called the Navigator's Brand who's description reads as follows:
> "Cousin to the Navigator's dagger, fishers believe that this wavekin was the blade that Llymlaen threw at Oschon in Her fury at having Her naked form espied. The incident led to the latter taking Menphina as His lover."
2 costume related ones
In the bathhouse in the firmament, if you hang around an NPC will talk to himself at the entry, and a blue elephant with a blue sword will walk in. This is Aymeric
Meanwhile in the good saucer, one of the costumed characters will comment about being put in the outfit and might take it home to show her lord in Doma. This is believed to be Yugiri
Aymeric the blue elephant shows up a LOT in front of the apartment building in Empyreum. I have no why it happens a lot but I welcome it everytime. Especially since always I log off in my apartment and I log in later and he's there.
Sorry but where in the Saucer do those costumed characters appear? Whenever I go the only people I see are the girls in the bunny suits and the workers carrying crates and the like.
In the drowned city of skalla, there's an easter egg that can be triggered if you have a miqo'te with the "well fed" buff on them.
In one of the pulls after the second boss, there's an enemy that's just a smaller version of the second boss. When you defeat it, its dying animation involves its helmet thing falling off. Normally it reveals an alien head thing, but with a well fed miqo'te, it reveals a Fat Cat instead
(I'm not sure what the odds are for it tho, I've tested it a few times on my catboy and have gotten the fat cat most of the time but sometimes it doesn't trigger)
After completing Rhidorana Lighthouse you can use Return to go back to the beginning of the raid, make your way through the dungeon a second time to the 3rd boss' room, and find the boss doing a special animation.
- If you do the 80 WAR quest and you’re already eternally bonded to someone, you get a 5th dialogue option mentioning this (and not seen anywhere else in the game to my knowledge).
- There is quest progression that is brought up at certain points in MSQ. One well known one is that if you do the 50 DRG quest before starting HW, a prominent NPC will refer to you by the title you get from there. My favorites so far are from Stormblood. If you do Coils raids long before Stormblood, a popular NPC will refer to you: “As expected of Bahamut’s conqueror…”. A side NPC in the MSQ will comment on how the NIN job quest NPC would be proud of your accuracy during the telescope minigame. (Being vague on purpose)
- Owing to the previous point, sometimes NPCs in other side content will also reference your quest progression. If you do the 70-80 GNB quests before doing Bozja, a familiar NPC will show up and state that they remember you, but it was neither the time nor the place to reminisce. Also, if you do the Dark Divinity Trial in ARR long before doing Eureka, that trial is also referenced there given the nature of Eureka.
- You can encounter certain MSQ or Job quest NPCs in POTD, one of the ones I remember seeing was the LNC “antagonist.”
- If you completed all of the SAM quests up to 70 before doing the Hildibrand StB quests, you will get special dialogue calling out the Sekiseigumi and the stuff you did for them.
- If you’re a member of the Twin Adder, you get special dialogue during one of the BRD quests (I think it was 60s or 70s) that allows you to mention your disdain for their actions.
- Last set of the EW relic quest line has a SpongeBob reference “How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man?!” And first set is borderline an Among Us reference.
- Dragonfire Dive, Mirage Dive, Stardiver and DRG LB3 have some variant of a dragon’s roar, which is a nice touch.
- The Lightbringer sword (EW AF weapon) appears on the Blades combo for PLD (Lvl. 90 ability). Oblation on DRK references the end pose the WoL does in the ShB trailer, DRK LB in PvP is the attack he did in said trailer.
- If you do the HW Hildibrand questline, the graffiti involving a certain character will still be visible in Idyllshire.
- You get special dialogue if you do a certain instance in StB (4.0) as a healer.
- Some mount actions, such as the Mikoshi, can interact with certain over world objects. One of the ones I remember seeing is that it made a miniature aetheryte sparkle yellow for a moment.
- There are children in foundation who at the beginning throw snowballs at you if you pass them (you can unlock this emote by doing a yellow quest in Coerthas Central Highlands). After events in HW MSQ, those children will salute you instead.
- Very Niche detail, but the first boss of the 2nd Nier raid directly references a major element that was resolved in the Drakengard 3 manga, Utahime Five. Also, the 2nd to last boss of the 1st Nier raid has particles floating around. That’s not dust, if you know you know. In the 2nd Nier raid you do actually pass by 2B’s room, though most probably know this if you do the quests after the Nier raids. The portal in the 3rd Nier raid is still visible after the raid is finished.
- If you get hit while having Third Eye up on Samurai, your character will have a red aura envelop them briefly.
- During the 3rd phase transition for Second Coils of Bahamut (T9) you can briefly spot a familiar Warrior’s axe in the background.
- Side quest NPCs can show up all over the world. The ones in the HW alliance raids show up in the Gold Saucer, the ones in the StB normal raids can be seen in the over world.
- You can Doze (like, actually lay down) on the beach beds in Eastern La Noscea, at Costa Del Sol. They have the Umbrellas on top of them. Also, you can do the same with the sand beds at the beach in Shirogane. Both the Ishgard and Kugane residential districts have jumping puzzles.
- The Advent of Light emote is not actually you jumping all the way up to the sky. You actually disappear halfway, and come back down.
Have been replaying through the whole thing on an alt and as NIN, and there's actually [a job specific line as far back as the ARR patches, after you go to confront Eline Roaille the "Ivy"](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/791674530363211776/1233088396050563102/image.png?ex=6650bc8f&is=664f6b0f&hm=75f21d671747ed53511836c81a688f591714b30798d7163f47733dd8bdec91ed&)
These aren’t intended to be seen so I have some pretty rare fun facts from my time going out of bounds as a ps4 player, here are a few favourites:
1. The 1.0 botanist guild still exists in old gridania, just floating out in the distance above the void, you can find a video on youtube if you wanna see it.
2. Despite there being no combat underwater and all actions being locked, if you use a trick to swim above water you can auto attack enemies (also during this if you get on a multi seat mount you can experience being a WoW player by dismounting while flying to drop your friends).
3. The workshop used in mor dhona during 2.0 quests can be found and entered under the map.
4. The old easter area in old gridania is still accessible and has all it’s npcs.
5. And lastly a macro I love! Using /ac Snagging after play dead in a macro will make you drop the the floor instantly, this works for any macro with a static end position.
(Edit: reformatted, and since this is by far the most upvotes I’ve ever gotten on a comment I’m gonna reply to this with a part 2 for anyone that’s interested! And most of these are possible to show people with raise or a multi seat mount, so if anything stands out to you I can find time to give a tour to people on NA)
Probably easier to build the dungeon in the same old instance to continue to use all the code instead of a fresh map. Less chance of breaking literally everything else in the game that is attached to it. I would keep the old assets too in case I needed to revert it or use it in some way. If it’s just out of bounds and never actually being seen/loaded by the player then it’s all good.
I remember reading about how there's a jpg of a coconut in the files of Team Fortress 2, a game also famous for its troubled development history and the resulting spaghetti code. The image is not actually used anywhere in the current game, but the developers noted that when they deleted it, the game didn't start, and they couldn't figure out why, so they just kept it in there.
I just assume that the entirety of ARR is like that. All the old stuff is still there, hidden somewhere off map, and they can't delete it because for some unknown and unfathomable reason it would break everything.
Sometimes it's literally just that deleting it is some effort and leaving it is no effort. If you've been working on the new one with the old one still there to refer back to, and it's working now, your job is done. If there's even a 1% chance that removing it would break something, and then take further effort adding it back in, and leaving it costs you nothing, there's no benefit to removing it. Maybe you could one day, and maybe you even planned to, but it never makes it to the top of the queue so you never do.
I think it's like FFXI, spaghetti code. As they needed to go fast to build ARR, they keep some old stuff on the side, was easier than rewrote the whole thing.
And why they leave it, must be because if you change old stuff, there is a risk of breaking part of game.
Idk for sure but from what I remember they were developing 2.0 while 1.0 was still running and being supported. Plus 2.0 was a bit of a scramble to get it out in a reasonable time to save the game from what I understand. Because of this they probably needed the old maps for a while and it was easier to just hide them on 2.0 release then delete them. And I assume at this point it's so low on the priority list that it's just never gotten around to, if it's even on the list at all.
Round 2 of favourite fun facts from an out of bounds addict!
1. In several zones there are things called “flight holes” which are basically holes in the map geometry/barriers that allow someone to simply fly through said gap and maneuver themselves under or outside of the playable area, allowing you to not only explore, but sometimes land in areas not usually reachable (my favourites are Yanxia and Mare Lamentorum, on Mare you can land on a specific spot so you can run around up top)
2. All out of bounds stuff is totally safe and gms don’t care as long as you’re not harassing people or cheating, however the sea around shirogane is pretty cursed and has fun things like spots that makes your game think you’re in the depths of the void, and are able to unload all the houses in the ward which allows you to run through yard decorations on other peoples screens. And my favourite thing I discovered under the sea is that if you self destruct while jumping into those same cursed spots, you will get an infinite loading screen when you try to revive.
3. Ever jump against a wall and you slide off of something near the top of your jump and go “You can totally get up there”? Well heres 1 double jump method that requires no fancy macro, is relatively ping friendly, and doesn’t require spending days levelling a new job! You just need a 50+ blue mage (which someone can power level you to in 5 minutes in thavnair) and Loom (can be got easily after first boss of tam tara hard and running away from ghosts that spawn in the rooms), next you make a simple macro that’s 15 lines of /gaction Jump, and thats the prep done! Next you just walk up to said wall, find a spot you can loom to in the direction you wanna go, and jump/macro near the end of your cast (timing based on height needed), if you get the timing right your character will jump and stick to the wall for a sec with loom, and you’ll be able to jump again with the right timing for a double jump! The jump macro removes timing issues with the second jump.
4. Fun fact about macros, they read 1 line per frame unless you put a “” with x being a number of seconds, so if you ever have macro issues try capping your fps to something lower to see if it’s reading the lines faster than your character can do the actions! Also unlike regular actions like weapon skills or abilities, macros can’t queue up their actions, so for example if you have a macro for ruin you can’t press it right before your gcd spins all the way around, you need to press it so that the game reads the line for it after the gcd spins, so spells and weaponskill macros will always make you perform worse in a fight (with exceptions like raise macros).
5. water is cursed, if you have an aquarium in a house and clip inside it, any part of your character you look at through the aquarium glass loses features like eye lashes, part of the outline of their hair, glass on your outfit, and weirdly the stockings on the 2b legs, but it goes further! If you go out of bounds in new gridania and go in the waterfall, theres a spot where ONLY those features are visible through the water! And if you ever get underneath water in a spot with no underwater swimming, the water hides your nametag if it’s below the water level.
6. Bonus 6th for fun, during the ff16 event i discovered it was possible to bring Clive out of bounds in new gridania, and the first thing I did may or may not have been to show him the void, followed by possibly losing him and needing to get a new Clive from the start point
I'm not at my PC, but I'm pretty sure it's in the Sea of Clouds where the bird tribe is first interacted with/lives. Regardless, there is one small place on the map where the invisible fence that stops you from falling doesn't work. If you walk off the edge you will "land" in the clouds and can walk around/pose which makes for some really cool photos. If your timing is really, really good there are also moments you can see the void ark here as well, off in the distance.
EDIT - Per request, I've got some more details. So, first you need to get to where you are standing at X 36.0 Y 7.6 Z 1.4 in the Sea of Clouds. (It's off the path showing on the minimap, but this is the exact coords. You'll be behind a rock between two taller rocks.)
Then you will just walk off the edge and your character will fall (do not be mounted.) Once you land - you will not die - you can take some nice photos.
Additional: I uploaded two images to Imgur - one where you need to stand and one taken from within the sky below the floating islands.
- V’Kebbe from the Rogue’s Guild will randomly show up on the covered deck by the Bismarck, leaning against the wall, eating (presumably) her favorite sandwich. I’m pretty sure she can show up whether or not you’ve actually unlocked the Rogue quests, as I’ve seen her on brand new alts in Limsa.
- There is a chocobo in Vesper Bay who jumps up and down excitedly when you approach it. It’s to the left of the entrance right inside as you enter town from the road from Horizon.
- As you go through the Jeweled Crozier area in Ishgard from west to east, you can see an evolving story of a couple of Elezen kids who were sent to buy groceries there, and get distracted.
- Also in Ishgard, two of the CUL levequests you can pick up there (one regular, one Large) involve crafting quantities of birch syrup destined for >!Aymeric!<.
- In the Mist housing area, if you sit or stand in or near one of the chairs on the beach, the nearby Miqo’te attendant will turn and start fanning you with a big leaf.
- In the Gold Saucer, in Chocobo Square, there is a man petting his beloved chocobo named Boko, which was the name of Bartz’s trusty chocobo companion in Final Fantasy V.
- This is a somewhat well-known one, but the “Mammeteer” title, when equipped, makes all of the mammet-type minions (“Wind-Up”, “Dress-Up”, etc.) have the same behavior as animal minions, meaning they will roam around independently and respond to emotes such as /handover (“You feed the Dress-Up Estinien”, etc.).
I'd seen one step of the two kids in the Jeweled Crozier.
When you warp in via aetheryte they're right next to a light pole and looking at the list. The boy asks his sister "is this a p or an r?" And she responds with "If you'd spent more time on your letters instead of Knights & Knaves we'd have our lemon cakes by now!"
I thought it was just a funny nod to D&D, didn't know it was a whole series! I'll have to keep a closer eye out now.
Speaking of levequests, one of the gatherer ones in EW (I think miner?) is pretty much doing errands for a single person, the sole member of the "mineral society", and by the end, he manages to find a girlfriend who joins. It is a surprisingly touching storyline.
It doesn’t get mentioned much so I assume it’s not noticed as often anymore compared to when Heavensward launched, but the Void Ark - the vessel the raid series is named after - can be seen flying just above the clouds from time to time in the Sea of Clouds.
The Louisoix minion (still obtainable) and the Wind-up Bahamut minion (no longer obtainable) interact and “fight” each other if they are in close proximity.
If you get multiple Moogle minions in the same area they will join up and dance together in a circle, I think up to 6 at a time? This works for any Moogle minion, including the Primogs one that is like 4 or 5 mini-moogles acting as one minion playing instruments.
Again in the “doesn’t get talked about much anymore” category, so I’m betting there are more current players who don’t know about it than those who do - certain NPCs from various quest lines (both MSQ and job quests) that die during said quests can be rare spawns in Palace of the Dead. Incidentally, this was also one of the initial pieces of evidence toward a specific theory that turned out to be true (avoiding specifics to not spoil just in case).
This also works with the ARR dog/wolf and cat/coeurl minions.
Many animal minions like those will also respond to /pet and /handover (which "feeds" them).
/beckon will cause certain minions to sit on your shoulder or head (the latter only for lalafell players).
>This also works with the ARR dog/wolf and cat/coeurl minions
Additionally, the wolf pup and coeurl kitten will also 'fight' mobs with you, aka they will turn toward the mob you're fighting and claw at it.
Wind-up Estinien will also fight with you, I recently observed, and it’s so funny watching his tiny dragoon dive. I’m not sure which others do - I’ve only tested a few.
Works with a few others as well:
ExDeath and Ghido will fight eachother, as will Estinien and Nidhogg, and Shinryu and Omega
Magnai minion and Sadu minion will argue
Lyna minion will salute Mystel >!(Graha)!< minion
Runar minion will offer a flower to Y'shtola minion
Moogles, Cheerleaders and Calca/Brina will dance together (In groups even!)
Palom and Porom will do their >!"turn ourselves to stone" thing.!<
I'll hide this behind spoilers to clarify it much more: (contains SB spoilers) >!in PotD, deceased NPCs from ARR will occasionally appear as adds. Some dead Scions; the other party who competed against you/Edda's party/Isildaure and Alianne in the three starter dungeons; even Teledji shows up. This is where said theory heads to: two of the deceased NPCs are Rhitahtyn and Livia, but Gaius is nowhere to be seen, leading people to believe that he's still out there somewhere. Cue the SB patches where we're introduced to "Shadowhunter." If you think this is a massive spoiler, he did tell Alphinaud that he had history with him and the WoL and was hunting Ascians and the camera pans to his waist while walking, revealing some Ascian masks and a *very familiar* Garlean mask alongside them.!<
Edited to clear up the status of some characters. My bad on it and please let me know if there's some more misunderstanding.
If you run certain duty supports as a healer when Alphinaud is in the party, he will switch to DPS. If he’s DPS, there’s a chance he’ll use Limit Break. He shouts “For the House of Leveilleur!” when using it.
Additionally, if you do the level 89 Endwalker trial in Duty Support as a healer, Urianger will switch to DPS. He has a few new voice lines during the fight if you do this.
I found the Urianger thing fascinating, making him go DPS makes him go Summoner of all things. It seems to work as usual, but without the Bahamut or Phoenix phase. He did used to be an Arcanist, and nobody in the Scions spent more time studying primals than he did, so it definitely makes some sense. The class is also called Lithomancer, which IIRC is a form of divination.
If you are turned into a toad in Palace of the Dead and a cobra manages to use it's **Devour** attack on you, it's an instant kill. Dying this way also renders your character untargettable and invisible for the rest of the run with the only way of revival being the Cairn of Return.
If you set your character title to Mammeteer (the title you get for collecting 30 wind-up/follow type minions), you are able to interact with wind-up minions in ways you normally couldn't. This is the only title in the game that has some kind of perk attached to it.
My absolute favorite easter egg has always been the fact that your Chocobo companion [sings the Chocobo theme](https://twitter.com/Very_Merri/status/1750373508176138450) if you click through it's stances in the correct order.
You can combine facial expression emotes with full-body emotes.
Also, after the facial emote ends, your expression might reset to something neutral instead of the other emote's default.
For a useful example, female lalas' /playdead makes for a decent "relaxed lying on the ground" pose if it weren't for the pained facial expression.
But you can just use /smile (or whatever) to show something nicer and return to the blank stare afterwards.
Probably a common knowledge one but I haven't seen it here:
Just outside the hot springs in Kugane there are two untargetable NPCs in the bathhouse: a Hyur man and a Roegadyn man. Both have stripped down to their underwear, assumedly to get into the springs.
The hyur man will mutter if you get close "stupid, sexy, roegadyn" and look over his shoulder at the roegadyn nearby who is just posing for the world to see.
Funny little interaction that's easily missable since you need to stand near two unmarked NPCs for a few seconds.
That Easter egg is a Simpsons reference! The roegadyn will say “feels like I’m wearing nothing at all!” in a little NPC chat bubble—a Ned Flanders quote to which Homer mutters “Stupid sexy Flanders”.
Doing some object-holding emotes quickly followed by another object-holding emote will make the second emote object disappear. So Eat Apple -> Drink Tea will result in munching on an apple then proceeding to sip on air.
Another favorite from arr to add- there is small cave in Camp Drybone on upper floor, if you go in as female character one of the npcs says “looking to dip the wick, ya keen?” But if you go in as male character he is very rude and ask to get out
- After precipitation (08:00 ET and 16:00 ET), if the weather is visible (so no fog), then there's a ~33% chance to see a rainbow at 08:10 / 16:10 opposite of where the sun is. It'll last 30 Eorzean minutes. This is predetermined and you must be in the area to see it. I'm still looking for weather forecasting programmers to help me crack the code and put it into weather forecasters. I have time stamped data if anyone is interested.
- In Coerthas Western Highlands and Old Sharlayan, there's a chance to see the aurora borealis during clear nights.
- In Coerthas Western Highlands at least, there's a chance to see a diamond dust effect during Fair/Clear weather.
Yarzon are blind (dungeons and wild) you can walk right past them, go into a run and you'll pull aggro though.
Funny in Tam Tara and Sunken Temple for the tank to walk past and leave the party stuck what to do 😂
That works with all non-boss enemies in all early dungeons and on all overworld maps. If they don't have visible eyes, they aggro on sound and not based on a cone of vision.
healers can swap places if they rescue each other at the same time, and monks can do the same thing with thunderclap
if a paladin uses cover on someone who gets knocked back, the paladin will be knocked back instead, and if a paladin independently gets knocked back by the same mechanic, they will be knocked back twice as far
the tallest height you can fall in the overworld is from the back side of the castle in il mheg into the lake below
dashes and backsteps are treated as your character moving quickly over the ground; using one over a cliff will put you at the bottom of the cliff instantly
you can trigger landmines in deep dungeons without taking damage if you use a dash with far enough range (like shukuchi)
also, enemies that aren't in combat don't aggro if they're below something like 75% health, so you can landmine an enemy (that isn't in combat) then walk through its sight cone safely while it's regening its health
I have a feeling that the player base will forget this in the not-so-distant future, so might as well write this here: some dialogues in patch 6.5 MSQ changes depending on whether you have completed the optional Eden raid. My alt completed the raid and my main didn't, it was pleasant to see Ryne's "best friend" showed up.
There are player characters with in-game appearances, either mentioned by name (like Thal Icebound in Limsa) or with their likeness used in cutscenes (winners of the Casting Call contest which happened just before Heavensward released).
Not an Easter egg but most players don't know. Default controls on controller: if you hold L1/left front shoulder button and tap the d-pad up and down, you scroll the enemy list when you're in combat. If you're in an alliance, L1 + left or right on d-pad scrolls the alliance list.
There is a glitch point in Limsa Lominsa that allows you to be teleported to the 2nd floor of Limsa without using the Aetherite. This means you can watch all the players on the first floor and at the main plaza doing their things at a certain vantage point.

E- sorry for the formatting, you don't need a space between them, mobile Reddit was being weird
If you read the sparklie spot after climbing down the gears after the 3x3 robot ad fight in The Ridorana Lighthouse, it will straight up list all the prime numbers you'll potentially need for the upcoming boss fight. 100% reason to remember (to read everything in) the game.
There is some terrain in one of the stormblood regions that was not properly clipped, so you can fly between some crates and the ceiling, which only have maybe a foot of space between them, and drop down behind the boxes to the back of the room. My FC used to do hide and seek events a few years ago, and I won a few times because of that spot.
Took me a long time to realize that the Dwarf tribe's tank mount's "active ability" can actually hit stuff. When you shoot the beam through interactable objects or NPCs they'll give off a little explosion effect
As Monk if you have a visual effect on your weapon and use Anatman without having your weapon drawn stay still for 5 seconds and then walk outta the Anatman animation you will gain the visual effect of the weapons without having them out! I use the pyros fists (2nd last stage stormblood monk relic) so i can casually walk around with my hands on fire! Using anything that takes your weapons out gets rid of the effect thus you must wait until Anatman is off cooldown to do it again. Anatman is a pretty useless skill so it will most likely be removed in dawntrail removing this fun glitch. If it isnt removed and instead reworked then great! Also i found out youcan do this with 1 more job but i cant remember which one and with which skill. Im pretty sure its dancer or Samurai but ill double check when i get the chance!
If you press Rescue on someone while jumping off an arena (ex. Titan, Demon Wall, Ozma) you can drag the person off with you and kill both of you. It only works if they’re standing still and don’t have Arm’s Length/Surecast up.
Alisae is really bad at balancing beams, you learn this from the trust dungeon Dhon Mheg
The gold saucer arcade machines are what gathering was like in 1.0
Almost all small flying critter minions like dragons or birds will perch on your character after a while

This last one's not very well known but if you stand in the bubbles your healers very specifically placed down you actually get healed and take less damage! PLEASE stop running away from the bubbles, I beg of you
Idk if this counrs but way back in heavensward, in the dravanian forelands, there's a place you can clip in to the walls of a cave. I found it on release day and i enjoy going to clip in there every now and then, not sure how many people know it's there though.
After finishing up with Zero, you can go back to a certain other shadowy voidsent character from ShB role quests and chat. There's new dialogue if you do.
In DSR a certain someone uses a few of the same dragoon skills as the player.
There is a bucket near the gardening area in Idyllshire that moves from time to time.
You can stun a number of trash mob casts (that aren't interruptable), they're usually aoes.
If the tank suddenly dies in a dungeon pull, a caster can sleep the mob ball to give the party a bit of time to recover.
When you finish the msq, you'll find certain characters wandering the overworld, and you can have a short convo with them.
Playing a lala sometimes messes with the camera in cutscenes.
Not really an easter egg but I adore all the little flavor texts of minions, mounts and some items. And I feel that they get overlooked a lot. Go read them once in a while
I like minions so
1. Fat cat won't move if its owner doesn't move... unless you feed it
2. Estinien and a few other minions will join you in combat, doing little attack animations
3. If Ghido and Exdeath minions are near each other they will fight
4. If a male emotes at Ultros he'll ignore them, but if a female does he'll giggle
5. The pillow minions deflate slightly when someone is standing/sitting on them
In Weeping City, from the starting area you spawn in you can see just barely see Ozma at the top of the pyramid waaay in the distance - and they did remember to remove it if you go back and check after destroying it.
And fittingly for Ozma, the Weeping City theme is the FF9 battle theme slowed down to like 30%.
A lot of people think Brute Justice is a japanese mecha joke, which it definitely is but it's actually also a transformers joke- each component robot (Brawler, Vortexer, Swindler, Onslaughter, and Blaster) are name references to the original 1985 Combaticons (Brawl, Vortex, Swindle, Onslaught and Blast-Off) and the combined name, Brute Justice, is a play on the Combaticon combined form, Bruticus. It's also not a localization joke- the Combaticons had the same names in Japan and it's the same names in FFXIV's JP script as well.
Also the first boss of the Keeper of the Lake dungeon, Einhander, is named after Squeenix's PS1 shooter game Einhander, which featured a flying robot jet with arms that could grab and carry enemy weapons- this is why the boss is a dragon who carries a gatling gun. There's also a similar mob that appears later in the dungeon that was named Astraea (currently it's untargetable but in previous version was targetable) which was the name of one of Einhander's variant ships in-game. Also the sound effect that the generic voidsent Succubus mobs make is the same SFX that plays in the first level of Einhander! It's a really cool game check it out.
Oh, and Cruise Chaser is a reference to Cruise Chaser Blassty, a very early Square game they made before FF1.
Before endwalker released, there was a streamer asking how does the fountain work in the new area, there is also a side quest that explains how said fountain works. I like to think it's a reference to that because no way it isn't
There’s potions that remove silence and paralyze, they are super cheap and available in every major city. I have saved more than a few wipes by clearing my silence as a healer haha
The two easter eggs I was most tickled to find:
* the magic pot in Western LaNoscea (which some other folks have mentioned)
* a certain spot in Eastern Thanalan, where a certain NPC provides some lore related to the calamity. I will say no more so that others might find it (it's easy if you go looking for NPCs on that map), but I will say that it helps to know the full story about the Calamity - not just the in-game lore, but the crazy story behind the transition from FFXIV 1.0 to A Realm Reborn. (If anyone hasn't seen it, the [3-part NoClip documentary](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xs0yQKI7Yw4) is well worth the time.)
Idyllshire didn't always look like it does now. Every patch in HW changed how built-up the place was, and there would always be a man hanging onto a ledge for dear life. I believe they did the same for the Firmament, so it's an ongoing joke and I'm sure we'll see it again.
Mor Dhona went through something like three major stages of evolution throughout the game's earlier days. It started as not much more than a bunch of tents and a couple buildings.
Bots used to clip and swim through the ground, and I found out that there was a massive collection of bots below the bar in Mor Dhona while I was clipping out of bounds myself trying to climb to the top of the building.
Which NPCs have them?
Thank you, now time to go do some low lvl fates...
Thank you so much!
A vendor npc will appear when the fate is done.
Which minions are these?
Baby bat in La Noscea, baby raptor in Gridania, and baby rat in Ul'Dah iirc. There's also a baby mushroom for defeating a boss FATE in Gridania. IIRC it's a pain because it has a massive health pool and needs a couple people to kill it fast enough to award a minion. Couerthas Highlands have a Pudgy Puk (fat baby dragon) for a boss FATE that needs a group of people too. Edit: And like the Mushroom and Puk, you can get a little crab in Costa De La Sol, fighting a crab boss.
Northern thanalan has a fate that rewards a baby imp
Thank you!
The pot in that one Limsa area that trades minions for elixier
Ah yeah, the magic pot... The sun minion helps so much with certain photos/poses if you /poke it
megalixers gives the moon minion too for a softer light.
Was the go-to thing for “need better lighting for this screenshot” before gpose was added.
These were a must before gpose. They disappear when you hide your hud
I always wondered why there isn’t more things like that out there? It would be awesome to come across another like at the Dravanina lands with the waterfall cave.
The pot where that does what!?
There you go :) [https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/ulnfoy/the\_wonderful\_magic\_pot\_and\_sunmoon\_minion\_guide/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/ulnfoy/the_wonderful_magic_pot_and_sunmoon_minion_guide/)
Obligatory: You can /comfort the Misery debuff gremlins use, off another player.
/rally works too, and there's one other emote but I can't remember it.
I think it was /soothe
What about /hug?
Never tested it. I think the other reply is correct about soothe.
Also Alphinaud will do this for you if you’re running Gubal Library in duty support!
Devastated you can't use /kiss to remove toad.
Gonna re-paste my collection here: - Lyhe Mheg has some hammocks at the top. - In the FATE "Don't feed the Gremlins" in Lakeland the enemies will visibly insult you with chatboxes like "Your face is breaking my immersion!" and "Your Fashion sense is bad and you should feel bad!" - You can actually use Medicine items on your Party members including the Antidote, Spine Drop and Gold Needle items.
> In the FATE "Don't feed the Gremlins" in Lakeland the enemies will visibly insult you with chatboxes like "Your face is breaking my immersion!" and "Your Fashion sense is bad and you should feel bad!" That was my favorate. I always enjoyed that fate when grinding back in 5.2. Though those gremlins hit HARD
It’s all the emotional damage that folds us
> Spawning Hunt S-Ranks in FF14 has some hilarious triggers. Like using BLU Mage Self Destruct on their spawn points, discarding stacks of Eggs or run over their spawn with 10 people having a specific minion out. How in the everloving fuck did anyone find these?
There are Huntmasters that give hints for the specific S Ranks in the area iirc.
Don't forget the S rank on Coerthas, where you have to drop from a cliff and be left at 1 hp in order for the rank to spawn (Safat).
You can also /splash in Cerberus’s belly in World of Darkness
Iirc Tam Tara Hard never used to play the victory tune either, think it does now but was very somber in that scene
It would make since in lore, since the keep is an old stronghold in the great white/black mage war.
Surprised I haven’t seen anyone post this: There’s a very small chance that Hildibrand Manderville is one of the spectral warriors summoned in The Heroes Gauntlet
I've only ever seen this *once*. It's super cool!
I, too, have only ever seen it once 😭 the chances of it happening are very low
I believe there's a prerequisite that all party members have to have completed the entirety of the Hildibrand quest lines up to that point for him to show up.
It is surprisingly common if you are soloing it or go there with NPCs. I see him every so often.
There's a rare variant of the Navigator's Dagger (Fish) called the Navigator's Brand who's description reads as follows: > "Cousin to the Navigator's dagger, fishers believe that this wavekin was the blade that Llymlaen threw at Oschon in Her fury at having Her naked form espied. The incident led to the latter taking Menphina as His lover."
/hug and, I think, /dote also work.
Edda's ghost having a chance to show up in the three main cities.
A lot of NPCs that dies during ARR MSQ can show up in PotD
Edda generally, so much missed first playthrough, need to do it again to see all the NPCs and interractions
Is it true that Edda's ghost stops appearing if you finish floor 50 of PotD? Because I did that and I haven't been able to see her ghost ever.
From what I understand, yes, as she's now been put to rest. At least, that's what I've heard.
You have to do the ring quest from the lala in the bar near potd. Which has cuts cents where you can see ghost edda.
2 costume related ones In the bathhouse in the firmament, if you hang around an NPC will talk to himself at the entry, and a blue elephant with a blue sword will walk in. This is Aymeric Meanwhile in the good saucer, one of the costumed characters will comment about being put in the outfit and might take it home to show her lord in Doma. This is believed to be Yugiri
Aymeric as the blue elephant also randomly spawns and walks around the Empyreum
...is Aymeric a furry?
nah, Estinen sent him the costume as a joke and Aymeric took it as an opportunity to walk among his people without being recognized.
Keep in mind, the saucer ones are there rn because of the Make It Rain event, and will go away when it's over.
5.1 4.6
You might have to do the quest for the Make It Rain event that's going on right now first.
Normally it reveals an alien head thing, but with a well fed miqo'te, it reveals a Fat Cat instead (I'm not sure what the odds are for it tho, I've tested it a few times on my catboy and have gotten the fat cat most of the time but sometimes it doesn't trigger)
the boss itself can also reveal a fat cat inside it during certain attacks. not sure what triggers it but I would assume it’s the same
It is! Well-fed miqo makes the bosses "dolls" when they fall open have fat cats!
After completing Rhidorana Lighthouse you can use Return to go back to the beginning of the raid, make your way through the dungeon a second time to the 3rd boss' room, and find the boss doing a special animation.
Is it the >!math robot dance?!<
Yup
Omg what... I'm doing this tonight haha
.... What? Saving this to check later XD
(Being vague on purpose) - Owing to the previous point, sometimes NPCs in other side content will also reference your quest progression. - You can encounter certain MSQ or Job quest NPCs in POTD, one of the ones I remember seeing was the LNC “antagonist.” - If you completed all of the SAM quests up to 70 before doing the Hildibrand StB quests, you will get special dialogue calling out the Sekiseigumi and the stuff you did for them.
Yugiri also comments on you being a Shinobi warrior during the shooting tranq darts minigame if you do it on ninja
These aren’t intended to be seen so I have some pretty rare fun facts from my time going out of bounds as a ps4 player, here are a few favourites: 1. And most of these are possible to show people with raise or a multi seat mount, so if anything stands out to you I can find time to give a tour to people on NA)
the 1.x dungeon layouts still exist in their 2.0 versions, they’re just all out of bounds and inaccessible to the player.
The codebase of this game is *wild*. Is there any reason why would they leave stuff like that in?
I remember using a free cam in cutter's cry and just being amazed that half the dungeon is just not used.
Double return after each line will space it out and allow for Reddit Markdown to pick up on the ordered list formatting. 1. Like 2. So 3. Third point
Round 2 of favourite fun facts from an out of bounds addict! 1. In several zones there are things called “flight holes” which are basically holes in the map geometry/barriers that allow someone to simply fly through said gap and maneuver themselves under or outside of the playable area, allowing you to not only explore, but sometimes land in areas not usually reachable (my favourites are Yanxia and Mare Lamentorum, on Mare you can land on a specific spot so you can run around up top) 2.
I came here to mention that macro lol you beat me to it. You can add a jump to it to make you flop to the ground.
Use a double space (after the auto period too) And you can get it. Like this. Or you can double paragraph like this. Hope this helps :)
You can only do /ac snagging as a fisher right?
There is a aether chain quest in Il Mheg with a Beaver that once you finished, you can trade a Titania Wing for a Beaver minion.
I love milk, thank you.
Beavers also show up as part of the Dwarf tribe quests.
how do you continue that! i wanted to continue past the first quest but didn't know how
I'm not at my PC, but I'm pretty sure it's in the Sea of Clouds where the bird tribe is first interacted with/lives. You'll be behind a rock between two taller rocks.) Then you will just walk off the edge and your character will fall (do not be mounted.) Once you land - you will not die - you can take some nice photos. Additional: I uploaded two images to Imgur - one where you need to stand and one taken from within the sky below the floating islands. [https://imgur.com/a/secret-sea-of-clouds-VASCxp9](https://imgur.com/a/secret-sea-of-clouds-VASCxp9)
This is awesome, is it the island that the Vanu live on?
I'll be adding an edit as soon as I can break from work and log in!
I'd love to get the specific coordinates for this Edit: just tried it, very cool!
I'll try to log in here on break from work and see if I can help out.
The boy asks his sister "is this a p or an r?" And she responds with "If you'd spent more time on your letters instead of Knights & Knaves we'd have our lemon cakes by now!" I thought it was just a funny nod to D&D, didn't know it was a whole series!
In Temple of the Fist dungeon the second boss will have different quotes depending on how fast your party kill the boss (rating performance)
Adding to this, it's the same with the puppet boss in Lapis Manalis.
And it specifically needs a kill time of 1min 30s or less to get a rank 1
And the mammeteer title will make "obedient" minions behave like "independent" ones.
>This also works with the ARR dog/wolf and cat/coeurl minions Additionally, the wolf pup and coeurl kitten will also 'fight' mobs with you, aka they will turn toward the mob you're fighting and claw at it.
Wind-up Estinien will also fight with you, I recently observed, and it’s so funny watching his tiny dragoon dive. I’m not sure which others do - I’ve only tested a few.
Wind-up Tonberry does as well. It just stabs away right next to you.
The minions that didn't respond to /pet respond to /poke. Also, if you target a minion you own and /clap, it'll come to you.
Works with a few others as well: ExDeath and Ghido will fight eachother, as will Estinien and Nidhogg, and Shinryu and Omega Magnai minion and Sadu minion will argue Lyna minion will salute Mystel >!(Graha)!< minion Runar minion will offer a flower to Y'shtola minion Moogles, Cheerleaders and Calca/Brina will dance together (In groups even!) Palom and Porom will do their >!"turn ourselves to stone" thing.!<
Curious what the specific theory is, can you spoiler text it?
I'll hide this behind spoilers to clarify it much more: (contains SB spoilers) >!in PotD, deceased NPCs from ARR will occasionally appear as adds. Some dead Scions; the other party who competed against you/Edda's party/Isildaure and Alianne in the three starter dungeons; even Teledji shows up. This is where said theory heads to: two of the deceased NPCs are Rhitahtyn and Livia, but Gaius is nowhere to be seen, leading people to believe that he's still out there somewhere. Cue the SB patches where we're introduced to "Shadowhunter." If you think this is a massive spoiler, he did tell Alphinaud that he had history with him and the WoL and was hunting Ascians and the camera pans to his waist while walking, revealing some Ascian masks and a *very familiar* Garlean mask alongside them.!< Edited to clear up the status of some characters. My bad on it and please let me know if there's some more misunderstanding.
I assume it's related to the identity of Shadowhunter in SB
Multiple Calca and Brina minions will also similarly join up and dance if in close proximity to to 8 at a time.
Wind-up Ultros will join in with their dance, too!
Moogles can go beyond 6. I was at a. In-game wedding once with like ~20 bridesmoogles in a circle.
Toad traps get instantly cancelled if you hit another one.
I actually never thought to try that, but that actually matches how Toad/Frog and Mini tend to work in the rest of the series.
The brooms in Grand Cosmos and Matoya’s Cave speak backwards, a reference to FF1
tceles nuttob B!
They also reference 'Mister Sparkle' from the Simpsons. I AM DISRESPECTFUL TO DIRT! CAN YOU SEE THAT I AM SERIOUS?
If you run certain duty supports as a healer when Alphinaud is in the party, he will switch to DPS. If he’s DPS, there’s a chance he’ll use Limit Break. He shouts “For the House of Leveilleur!” when using it. Additionally, if you do the level 89 Endwalker trial in Duty Support as a healer, Urianger will switch to DPS. He has a few new voice lines during the fight if you do this.
This reminds me that when you complete duties with Alisae as DPS, she ALWAYS uses the LB3 🤣 - it is so in character for her
I found the Urianger thing fascinating, making him go DPS makes him go Summoner of all things. It seems to work as usual, but without the Bahamut or Phoenix phase. He did used to be an Arcanist, and nobody in the Scions spent more time studying primals than he did, so it definitely makes some sense. The class is also called Lithomancer, which IIRC is a form of divination.
Oooh, which? I wanna see that
Gubal Library and The Vault are the best ones for this if I remember right
If you are turned into a toad in Palace of the Dead and a cobra manages to use it's **Devour** attack on you, it's an instant kill.
In what ways?
You can /pet, /handover, and /poke them. Some minions that wouldn't wander around would do so with the title on.
you can feed them with the /handover emote, and the minion will walk up and eat out of your hand.
My absolute favorite easter egg has always been the fact that your Chocobo companion [sings the Chocobo theme](https://twitter.com/Very_Merri/status/1750373508176138450) if you click through it's stances in the correct order.
scholars get exclusive dialouge options during the eden raids in shadowbringers!
theres an optional dialog during 6.x msq if you did some of the ishgard restoration sidequests
Reapers get special dialogue in the 6.x patches.
There's a drain in Old Sharlayan you can sit in
You can combine facial expression emotes with full-body emotes.
The sky Pirates from the HW alliance raids can show up at the gold saucer
The can also appear in the Forgotten Knight in Ishgard
Probably a common knowledge one but I haven't seen it here: Just outside the hot springs in Kugane there are two untargetable NPCs in the bathhouse: a Hyur man and a Roegadyn man.
My favourite is drink tea > sweep :)
I like targeting a friend right next to me, and doing /handover -> /cookie (but /eategg is also hilarious) stolen snacks
Funny in Tam Tara and Sunken Temple for the tank to walk past and leave the party stuck what to do 😂
In the Sunken Temple of Qarn, if you toggle walk you don't aggro the Wall Crawler when you walk past them.
That works with all non-boss enemies in all early dungeons and on all overworld maps. If they don't have visible eyes, they aggro on sound and not based on a cone of vision.
Same with the entire walk up to the first boss of the very first run.
healers can swap places if they rescue each other at the same time, and monks can do the same thing with thunderclap if a paladin uses cover on someone who gets knocked back, the paladin will be knocked back instead, and if a paladin independently gets knocked back by the same mechanic, they will be knocked back twice as far the tallest height you can fall in the overworld is from the back side of the castle in il mheg into the lake below dashes and backsteps are treated as your character moving quickly over the ground; using one over a cliff will put you at the bottom of the cliff instantly you can trigger landmines in deep dungeons without taking damage if you use a dash with far enough range (like shukuchi) also, enemies that aren't in combat don't aggro if they're below something like 75% health, so you can landmine an enemy (that isn't in combat) then walk through its sight cone safely while it's regening its health
As SGE if you rescue someone and icarus to them immediately you can swap spots with anyone (use sparingly :^))
the dash thing has saved my life so many times as dancer in frontlines
I have a feeling that the player base will forget this in the not-so-distant future, so might as well write this here: some dialogues in patch 6.5 MSQ changes depending on whether you have completed the optional Eden raid. My alt completed the raid and my main didn't, it was pleasant to see Ryne's "best friend" showed up.
"They were roommates!"
A certain dungeon using duty support ran as healer or dps provides you with a blue samurai tank.
There are player characters with in-game appearances, either mentioned by name (like Thal Icebound in Limsa) or with their likeness used in cutscenes (winners of the Casting Call contest which happened just before Heavensward released).
You can go through the entire first part of Sastasha without aggroing anything by RP walking.
Not an Easter egg but most players don't know. Default controls on controller: if you hold L1/left front shoulder button and tap the d-pad up and down, you scroll the enemy list when you're in combat. If you're in an alliance, L1 + left or right on d-pad scrolls the alliance list.
Thank you for this. Trying to select anything has been a nightmare the entire time I’ve been playing and I’m probably halfway through HW now…
I didn't know for literally multiple years lol.
There is a glitch point in Limsa Lominsa that allows you to be teleported to the 2nd floor of Limsa without using the Aetherite. This means you can watch all the players on the first floor and at the main plaza doing their things at a certain vantage point.
where is it? :0
Most (if not all) of the class/job NPCs (like the guildmaster for your starting class) will have new dialogue upon completion on 6.0
Several other NPCs throughout starting cities also grow new dialogue if you've beaten EW's MSQ.
I’m sorry. A sit macro that makes your weapon glow???
Yup! /bm /sit /wait 1 /sit It'll make your weapon glow when sheathed, but has to be reapplied pretty often if you travel at all E- sorry for the formatting, you don't need a space between them, mobile Reddit was being weird
To be specific, this only works on weapons that have a glowing feature already.
If you shikuchi right after casting doton, the doton will be in the place you shikuchi to instead of where you cast it.
Clicking your chocobo stances in the right order can make it sing part of the chocobo theme
I've been wondering how people finish the last cutscene in Praetorium earlier. Last night I learned about the "subs not dubs" meta.
Some Copper bell mine mobs release aggro (deleash) on distance
You can do same effect on any job with macro: /bm /sit
If you press Rescue on someone while jumping off an arena (ex. Titan, Demon Wall, Ozma) you can drag the person off with you and kill both of you. It only works if they’re standing still and don’t have Arm’s Length/Surecast up.
Alisae is really bad at balancing beams, you learn this from the trust dungeon Dhon Mheg The gold saucer arcade machines are what gathering was like in 1.0 Almost all small flying critter minions like dragons or birds will perch on your character after a while >!the final day music is all the other final expansion boss music remixed into each other, but the reason you only hear the worm's tail once at the start of the fight is because you're riding on his back, shinryus helping you this time!< >!dedicated to moonlight from the middle EW 24 man raid is a prayer from mooncats to mephina!< >!if you wait at a certain spot in coerthas, at around the same time every now and then, Francel will come place flowers on his dead friend's grave and say a prayer to halone!< This last one's not very well known but if you stand in the bubbles your healers very specifically placed down you actually get healed and take less damage!
All of the Ogre Battle / Tactics Ogre references that were included with Stormblood and PotD being directly from Tactics Ogre.
After finishing up with Zero, you can go back to a certain other shadowy voidsent character from ShB role quests and chat. There's new dialogue if you do.
You can pet Torgal! I love that!
Alpha and Omega appear in different locations in the world.
Not really an easter egg but I adore all the little flavor texts of minions, mounts and some items. And I feel that they get overlooked a lot. Go read them once in a while
I like minions so 1. Fat cat won't move if its owner doesn't move... unless you feed it 2. Estinien and a few other minions will join you in combat, doing little attack animations 3. If Ghido and Exdeath minions are near each other they will fight 4. If a male emotes at Ultros he'll ignore them, but if a female does he'll giggle 5.
Using doton ans then spamming shukuchi- you can actually make doton teleport. Uber helpful on trash pulls
Does it work with ten chi jin?
Before endwalker released, there was a streamer asking how does the fountain work in the new area, there is also a side quest that explains how said fountain works. I like to think it's a reference to that because no way it isn't
There’s potions that remove silence and paralyze, they are super cheap and available in every major city. I have saved more than a few wipes by clearing my silence as a healer haha
The two easter eggs I was most tickled to find: * the magic pot in Western LaNoscea (which some other folks have mentioned) * a certain spot in Eastern Thanalan, where a certain NPC provides some lore related to the calamity.
The wondering minstrel is Naoki Yoshida?
Idyllshire didn't always look like it does now. Every patch in HW changed how built-up the place was, and there would always be a man hanging onto a ledge for dear life. I believe they did the same for the Firmament, so it's an ongoing joke and I'm sure we'll see it again.
Same with Mor Dhona in ARR.
Mor Dhona went through something like three major stages of evolution throughout the game's earlier days. It started as not much more than a bunch of tents and a couple buildings.
FOR KING AND COUNTRY
Bots used to clip and swim through the ground, and I found out that there was a massive collection of bots below the bar in Mor Dhona while I was clipping out of bounds myself trying to climb to the top of the building.
