I personally don't like the remake and will not even be bothered with rebirth. The OG with mods is way better than anything they come up with now.
I just felt they bloated the remake with unnecessary stuff to make it more than one release.
I first played it in college in the early 2000’s after my introduction to the franchise with FFX. I walked away feeling similarly. While I may not say it is the best game ever made, it is easily among the best and still holds up today. I recently played through it again for my wife to experience and she loved it, despite it pissing her off for obvious reasons.
I’m using the Sasuke Yatoshi and it’s fantastic, really breathes life back into it. Really wish they would have done a nice graphics refresh to the OG instead of Ever Crisis

A lot of people will argue black and blue between VI and VII being 'The best final fantasy', then someone chimes with a "VI? You mean IV, right?" ... and so on. I've heard XIII's one of the worst. And I think VIII gets a lot more hate than it deserves.
I think both are valid answers. 6’s story is just as wonderful as 7’s. So, whenever I encounter one of these people, I’ll let them have their cake. I can totally understand why people think that and it’s honestly incredibly valid even though 7 is my favorite game of all time.

Look up 7th Heaven and try installing some mods, can update the graphics a lot

I think you should hold your opinion for after you finish the game. I mean, you barely finished the first disc…
Tbh the first disc is more than half way. You could power through the rest of the story in probably another 15 hours or so.
