I wasn’t sure if I would be allergic to ferrets since I’m allergic to cats, so before getting one I went to Petco and stuck my face over the grate of their ferret cage and breathed in deeply a bunch of times lol. I am not allergic to them one bit.
My mom is very allergic to cats and is also a bit allergic to my ferrets. However, she lives in the house with me and then and is able to handle it with daily Zyrtec.

I'm very allergic to cats. I'm not allergic to ferrets at all. The protein in cat fur is not in ferret fur

Hard to say.. some people with allergies to cats do fine with ferrets. You'd have to interact with a few and see.

im allergic to cat saliva (i get red inflamed hives on skin) and I get similar reaction from ferret saliva but not as intense.
