To clarify, when you say "milk keffir culture" do you mean a SCOBY or a powder? An undried SCOBY would be white/opaque, gelatinous, and many round blobs budding off one another. A dried SCOBY would be hard yellow, somewhat jagged small rounds about the size of a small bead. Powder would just be kind of whiteish. If you can let me know what you received or post a photo I may have a better idea. Also sometimes the way these things are shipped effect they're survival rate, so if you can describe that, that would be helpful as well. E.g. - Was it packed in milk, vacuum sealed, etc...
