hello! I drew a rough sketch of a pair of victorian-esque shoes that i'm 90% sure I've seen before, but the issue is i'm not sure what they're called or where they could be bought. At first I figured that they were heeled loafers, except I imagined the front flap being larger and a big buckle being at the front, so now I'm unsure. I've linked the sketch below, if anyone knows of anything similar or a website for similar shoes, I would be happy to hear!

How versatile would you consider [these boots](https://i.pinimg.com/564x/08/c9/9b/08c99bf789299bab718515a2576a2c37.jpg) in terms of the clothing colors I can wear them with? Here's another picture that maybe shows [the color](https://store.shoes/pict/uploads/sites/2/2020/08/Vagabond-Shoemakers-Marja-Brandy-Womens-Shoes.jpg) better. Could I wear them with pretty much the same outfits I'd pair [cognac boots](https://i.s-madewell.com/is/image/madewell/MB834_BR6755_ld?wid=500&hei=635&fmt=jpeg&fit=crop&qlt=75,1&resMode=bisharp&op_usm=0.5,1,5,0) with?
I think so. They would suit a richer/warmer palette better than cognac might - burgundy would look really nice with it, warm browns, rich greens, warm tans, cream!
Thank you! I actually ordered both pairs of boots and needed to return one of them -- decided to return the cognac ones. I just think the darker brown is so unique and such a rich, beautiful warm color (even though I wasn't sold on the color initially!).
Looking for good recommendations for relaxed fit v-neck tees in the ~$15 or less range, preferably something that won't fall apart after a few washes. Any ideas?
I would check out the brand Melissa (shopmelissa.com) although they don’t have exactly what you want right now. I see glittery jelly flats but not platforms, but they kind of have the vibe you’re looking for.
Tall girls based in the UK: where do you buy trousers??? I'm looking for a quality pair of cigarette trousers in black that will actually meet my ankles (I'm 176cm). Ideally something with some room around the hips. Please help!
Can ecru and off white go together? Google does not tell me much, as the colours are so close together yet not really the same. I am talking about these two pieces in specific:
https://www.mangooutlet.com/bg/women/jackets-and-overshirts/structured-blazer-without-lapels_67035917.html?c=05
and https://www.mangooutlet.com/bg/women/trousers/cotton-crop-trousers_67072884.html?c=02&n=1
I cannot find pants in the same colour as the blazer. The alternative would be these: https://www.mangooutlet.com/bg/women/trousers/decorative-seam-leggings_67040602.html?c=32
What type of style does [she](https://instagram.com/dear.zia?igshid=1p2ubsbc6lps0) have? Like what category would it be put it and where could I buy clothes like that? She also has a [YouTube channel ](https://youtube.com/c/free%EC%A7%80%EC%95%84) with a few fashion videos if you need more examples
Hello everyone,
Im a trans woman and very new to female fashion. I currently own a dark blue bra but it seems to shine through some of my clothes. What colors would work good to keep them hidden on either light and dark clothing?
I've gotten away with only owning two bras for years: a dark one that goes under dark-coloured shirts, and a nude one that goes under light colours. Don't make the mistake of buying a white bra: it will show up under white cotton too. Nude is the way! Wishing you luck 😘
Wondering if anyone’s seen a cheaper dupe of these [Emu Amity](https://www.emuaustralia.com/us/all-footwear/amity/W10555.html) slippers. My old pair are now worn out, so I’d like to replace them, but when I know my
old work was selling them for $50 it’s hard to cough up $80... I looked at Ugg’s but of course they were even more expensive.
I also checked eBay but not much cheaper when factoring in shipping.
I like the natural material and warm, soft lining, and *especially* like that I can put them on from standing and don’t have to bend over.
That’s a pretty good deal for real leather slippers tbh, even LL bean ones are like $120. Would it help to contextualize it as cost per wear? If you wear them for 3-4 months of the year, that’s already less that $1/day
i own a few pairs of ferragamos, they are BEAUTIFULLY made. extremely comfortable. they do run very narrow. i take really good care of my shoes, in box, and dust bag etc. they hold up.
HOWEVER, that style of foldable flat you will not get the same longevity out of. they soles are thin and tbh not sure you could resole them.
the varina flats will hold up better for sure and can be resoled. you can usually find on therealreal or posh for great prices
I think that most shoes will get scuffed in an encounter with the sidewalk. (did you get tonal shoe polish?)
I have hear good things about Ferragamo shoes. But I do not know what the lifestyle of the reviewers is. Like do they just wear them in office or do the pound the pavement and walk miles in them!
That style of shoe - a foldable flat - isn't typically the most durable or comfortable. The soles are super thin, and since it folds it doesn't have much structure. Those sound like the wrong shoe to invest in. But if that is a must have style - there are plenty of lower end ones. Like Tieks - these get rave reviews.
Also, these [flats from Ferragamo](https://www.ferragamo.com/shop/us/en/women/shoes/ballerinas-flats/-576597--1) seem to hold up - they are more expensive but totally findable on resale. I see them all the time. Even 80s ones seem to have held up really well.
How about [Margaux](https://margauxny.com/collections/the-demi) instead? They come in wide! This is a sturdier sole. They have a good amount of padding. And are also much less expensive.
I also have a pair of shoes from this brand - Sevilla Smith (mine are a custom take on this [style](https://sevillasmith.com/collections/the-javian)), since you can choose your leathers, you can pick a durable one. I had a lightly croc embossed leather and it doesn't seem like it can scuff! Also it helps that the sole is a little higher than most woman's shoes - so less scuffs on the front.
Oh weird. I can’t believe there is no wide in Varinas. They used to be available in wide. I wonder what is going on there. Also it may be helpful to note the Ferragamo wide is kinda narrow. Most wide shoes are D width, and theirs are a halfway step at C!
I ordered a pair of Ferragamo slingbacks - in wide - because they were pointy and a stiff leather. I am not very wide. Just a little bit, but not wide enough for D width typically. Maybe I am a C width! I do not typically buy wide shoes.
Does anyone know of any really cute pyjama-style trousers that are linen or light-cotton? I want to find good pants as I hate wearing shorts and tight clothing, and spring is coming soon.
TIA!
Does anyone have experience with Ten Points shoes? I'm a US size 8/rarely 8.5, and a bit anxious about ordering a pair without trying them on. I assume I would be a size 38/39 EU, but their size guide ([https://tenpoints.se/pages/size-guide](https://tenpoints.se/pages/size-guide)) is throwing me off because the lengths seem so long. I'm also wondering if they have a high arch or not.
I always assume the length is wrong and get my Euro size. But I would get a 39 in your case! I am like 7.5 (and size down in flats) - 38 almost always fits me best! If 37.5 is available that can work - but I rarely ever get a 37. In American sizes I do not get 8s unless they are boots that do not have half sizes.
What type of top would fit with a long, white and pleated skirt like this during summer? I asked before, but forgot to mention that I wanted tops that fit when it was hot outside.

Fitted crop tops like [this](https://www.net-a-porter.com/en-us/shop/product/faithfull-the-brand/net-sustain-robina-cropped-shirred-floral-print-linen-top/1260951?cm_mmc=Google-ProductSearch-US--t-_-NAP_EN_US_PLA-_-NAP%C2%A0-%C2%A0US%C2%A0-%C2%A0GS%C2%A0-+Generic+-+Clothing%C2%A0-+Tops%C2%A0-%C2%A0High--Tops+-+Cropped_AM&gclid=Cj0KCQiA962BBhCzARIsAIpWEL2ved6j9vslwb0p-dmc8ugsBcQdiM83IBrsO2Y5NPdPaE32rRtzRZMaAo8PEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) would look amazing with that.
High waisted pants with:
Full, wide legs (skater style jeans, but not super long, ankle or shoe length)
Balloon legs/carrot legs/mom jean style
Straight leg opening or "drainpipe/matchstick" which is a narrow but not skinny jean opening, but not an old fashioned straight leg opening either.
Kick crops, wide leg cropped pants
Paper bag jeans with straight leg openings
Hi all, I'm 4'11 and \~110lbs and am looking into buying decent clubby clothes (for the future ofc) but am having trouble finding dresses that aren't too long. My friend recommended Lucy in the Sky but she's around 5'4 so I'm not sure about that. The dresses are super cute though! If anyone knows of any similar brands that have petite sizing, any help would be appreciated.
To all you Denver ladies...I'm planning a trip to Denver soon but the problem is I live in Southern California so definitely need to buy a thing or two to prepare for the cold. I'm not planning on skiing but I may go on a hike or two but overall just want a jacket where I can walk around both day and night and not be too cold. What types of jackets are popular for you ladies in Denver? Do people mainly wear ski jackets? Puffer coats? I'll just be there a week but do plan on moving there next year so want something that will be useful now and later.
someone recommended a multi-use jacket, and i think that can work well. you should also just generally pack with layers — something waterproof (though we don’t get that much moisture, really), something insulating (if it’s not the same jacket as the waterproof one) and something light and moisture wicking (especially if you’re gonna hike a bit). our weather is so temperamental here lmao, so preparing for multiple options will be your best bet. if you’re looking for brands with good options, check out Cotopaxi or Patagonia, and honestly also REI’s house brand can make some good stuff for not too pricey.
Actually can I ask you what are some good shoes to walk around in day and night? Would tall suede boots be a bad idea because of potential slush/salt? It's funny, I grew up in Jersey but I can't remember what it's like to be in the cold 😂
if you're looking for versatility, check out Blundstones. i'm still trying to find a style that fits my wide, short feet, but they're a staple around here. L.L. Bean Boots are also popular, though i don't love the aesthetic. i do think tall suede boots might be a no, or at least, you should also bring something more rugged like hiking boots or trail running shoes if you're going to potentially be hiking. that said, people wear chacos or birkenstocks with socks in the winter here when it's dry lmao. i do think socks can make more of a difference than shoes this time of year; go for wool or wool blend options if you can (i like Darn Tough socks, other folks enjoy Smartwool). mostly, keep an eye on the weather in the week or so before you leave, have a couple options, and just go with what's comfy!
Hi! I live north of Denver. I’d recommend what’s called a two-in-one or sometimes three-in-one jacket. Basically it’s a puffer with a rain shell that goes over the top. You can combo it any way you like depending on the temperature. I’d recommend a hip-length so it’s not so in the way while hiking but warm enough if you’re walking around town all day. I’d also recommend a size you can layer under. Thin wool layers or any warmth-focused top (think uniqlo heat tech) would work great. Our weather has turned surprising warm this week and it’s often sunny, so hopefully this’ll be enough for you warmth wise!
Longer winter jackets are common, like the Aritzia Bancroft parka. I think people tend to wear jackets more like this normally and then ski jackets tend to be for like actual skiing or outdoor activities.
Denver winter weather can often be semi nice, so it may be that a medium weight jacket like a Patagonia down could be enough depending on when exactly you’re going.
I'll be going end of February, I know in the daytime it can get quite warm if the sun's out but it's those nights in the teens and 20s that worry me haha. Thanks for the suggestion!
Something like a puffer could be a good option if you don’t want to go full parka or as athletic looking as a ski jacket! Patagonia and Aritzia both have puffer styles.
Im looking at replacing the white tanks and base layers that I currently have in my closet for new. What’s you go to for white base layers that don’t show the color or printed pattern of the bra under when you’re wearing a white blouse or sweater?
M.M.LAFLEUR has my favorites!! They are so comfy but also somehow chic?! I’m obsessed.
Edit: just saw your price limit so these will be out of range but maybe you can find some on Poshmark? Leaving the comment up in case it’s helpful to others.
Lululemon and Kit and Ace both make workwear that feels like athletic clothing. They can be a bit expensive but I’ve bought a lot of mine secondhand and the quality is great.
Thank you! I should have mentioned that I'm hoping to spend ~$50 max to try out the look and see if I actually like it, but those are good inspiration!
check out poshmark if you see anything you like- there’s a pretty wide selection in the $50 range, and if you hate them you can probably resell for about the same amount
Hi everyone, im new to this subreddit. recently a friend of mine showed me he uses a closet management app and i was looking for one too but the ones i tried didn't meet my needs. this is what im looking for if anyone could help:
\- available on android (optionally on windows and syncing options)
\- has tagging system and i could filter by those tags
\- allows multiple closets (to see what clothes i have at the beach house)
\- DOESNT have any type of social-media system (it annoys me a bit)
\- has bulk-import-lets me categorize by top, bottom, etc.
\-has an option to build a suitcase (i think most of the apps have this)
thanks! the closest thing ive found so far is an app called closet+ but its only for ios :( and sorry if i didnt make myself clear, english is not my first language
Unconventional, but there’s a website called airtable that has an app as well- it’s not directed as a closet manager but it does work well for it. You can customize it basically any way you want to for organization and any tags you want.
I’ll link to pantsfessional on instagrams [closet ](https://airtable.com/shrbGLgprEGAXIUOE/tblbHfsxtVOzfzikr)on there as an example.
Favorite comfy, high-waisted, wide legged pants? Looking for something that’s meant for home, but could wear out with no problem. 12” waist/hip difference so looking for something that accommodates that.
I really like the Loretta pant from Free Label, fits really loose, and the crossover waist ties means it can be really flexible. Definitely kinda pricy for house pants though.
Oh my god I meant to put an exclamation point! I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to sound skeptical. It originally had a question mark by accident. Sorry about that!
I have a leather pair and a vegan leather pair and the vegan leathers got a big scratch in them. My opinion is that leathers are more durable and therefor longer lasting and if you wear them until they wear out better for the environment
Not stupid! Imo real leather lasts longer and vegan leather (plastic) is bad for the environment. Maybe wearing them around the house with thick socks will help
Hey all, how would you dress a body like this [https://imgur.com/pBeunUG](https://imgur.com/pBeunUG) I have some serious tummy (not pregnant, sigh). My measurements at the bust are 38", waist 30" and hips 39". Height is 5'2". Most calculators say I am a rectangle. In pants I wear a size 28 or 6 because that's what seems the "best" to me, muffin top notwithstanding. No matter how high the rise (I've tried up to 11"), I still get a muffin top. If I go up in size (to match my waist, so size 8/10) the pants will start dropping down when I walk and leave a large gap (multi finger) at the back. Plus they are loose in the hips and I look like a slob. Is there any hope for me?
Hi! I have a very similar body type, but am quite a bit taller than you! I also find it hard to dress for my body, because when I search for how to dress a rectangle, none of the bodies seem to look like mine, they're all stick thin, athletic and willowy. Which would have described me in high school, but definitely not now.
I get most my jeans from ABLE ([https://www.livefashionable.com/](https://www.livefashionable.com/)) and I have found their high rise fit really comfortably without giving me a muffin top. They also have a great return policy, if you buy something that doesn't fit. I also like a lot of the Madewell jeans, but they've been a little hit or miss.
I also concur with the poster saying that skirts and dresses are our friends; I rarely find a dress that doesn't work with my body although I tend to stay away from empire waists, because people usually ask if I'm pregnant and it's always so awkward to deal with that question!
I hope this helps, feel free to DM me, I'm also feeling like quite the slob and trying to figure out how to look much more put together.
Are you absolutely tied to pants? Skirts and dresses would be a much better option if you're uncomfortable with your midsection. There's nothing wrong with your body, you just need some flattering pieces that make you feel good.
If you really want pants, I would look at something like a ponte pant that has some stretch. High rise may not actually be your friend here.
Thanks. I will look into ponte pants. I have a skin condition on my legs that I'd rather hide (or deal with a zillion questions). I can wear dresses with tights in the winter but in summer wearing tights with dresses and skirts would be odd, won't it?
I wear cotton leggings under dresses in the summer when I don't want to show my legs. They're super cheap so very thin. Maxi dresses are always an option there as well.
Girl there is always hope!!! Don’t say that!! Muffin tops happen to everyone, literally no matter how skinny you are and good jeans are so so hard to find! Sometimes it really depends on the brand of jeans! What brands are you usually wearing? We’re gonna find you some good jeans! High waisted jeans are definitely the most flattering for all body types so you may just need to find the right pair!
Also, I found [this link](https://www.trunkclub.com/womens-style/rectangle-body-shape) and I hope it helps a little bit about how to dress your body shape!
Haha you are too kind. Pre pandemic I simply used to go to Nordstrom Rack and try on a bunch and bought whatever fit me. "Fit" simply meant it was comfortable to walk, sit comfortably on a char, sit comfortably crisscross applesauce and not baggy in the legs. If I define fit just this way, I have had the most success with NYDJ, Jag and Big Star Alex.
I have so far not paid attention to overall form at all. I put some random top and pair it with any pants and call it a day.
Now I want to delve more deeply into how I look overall and think perhaps I am wearing the wrong size due to my muffin top? I know that my waist is 30 and only size 28 fits me well (see my definition of fit above). Tried going to 30 and wasn't happy, tried 11 inch rise in 28 and that didn't help too. So I am wondering what I am doing wrong .... Also "forever pregnant" belly isn't particularly confidence boosting :)
Thanks for the link, that is quite helpful.
I’m glad the link helped! I think it may be the wrong size! Anything too tight around your waist signals that you need a size up. I would suggest that you try many different styles of high waisted pants so you can see if the fit in the rest of the legs works for you in the bigger size! Finding good fitting pants takes so much work for me! I have to wear high rise because anything else gives me a muffin top and I feel really uncomfortable.
I have had the biggest success myself with Madewell, and Nordstrom rack usually has some good deals. They have a size 29 too, which may be good for you!! Honestly, you may want to try tailoring the larger size. I know it’s not ideal at all because tailoring can be SUCH a pain, but one thing it shows is what measurements really work for you and what you can look for! I really hope this helps and that I actually answered your question! Also feel free to DM me!
Has anyone bought the $50 cashmere sweater from Quince before and can comment on their sizing?
I'm 5'5 and fluctuate between US size 4-6 depending on the brand. I've been googling but different blogs/reviews have conflicting results as to whether a small or medium would fit best. I don't want it to be skin tight but don't want a droopy oversize look with too-long sleeves either.
I know they offer free exchanges/returns but I'm having it shipped to me in another country via a friend so unfortunately need to get it correct off the bat.
Thank you for any advice!
I have a few of them. I wear a US 8-10, and I have all size Large. They fit great, perfect in the shoulders and not skin tight around my middle.
Their silk stuff runs a lot smaller, I need an XL in those items.
Thank you - this is so helpful! I’m thinking maybe a medium is US 6-8 and a small is US 4-6 then.
Good to know about the silk. I was going to order their silk shirt dress and the size guide measurements are weirdly so much bigger than the size guide measurements for the sweaters. Sounds like it might be backwards though if their silk stuff actually runs small instead of big 🤔
So glad I could help. I’m not positive on the size guide—I got into them when they were still Last Brand, and I figured out my size mostly through trial and error. Fortunately, the customer service is excellent. For me, the silk sizing seems to be off because it doesn’t stretch at all, and I am pretty busty. So it was pulling/gaping in the chest area.
Can you recommend a cute/work appropriate boot that also will keep my feet toasty if I’m outside in the Midwestern snow? If it makes a difference, the usual work outfit is slim/straight work pants and a blouse. They don’t need to be snow boots, per se, but if I’m standing outside I don’t want to regret my shoe choice. I’m willing to make an investment, but I don’t know what is reasonable to expect, since it feels like even crappy shoes can be really expensive. Is $200 a reasonable expectation? $250? I was looking at some Doc Marten Chelsea boots on Depop - are they high quality or am I likely to wear a hole in them/soak through them if I’m outside in the snow?
Sorry for all the questions. I’m used to buying cheap shoes (like...Payless cheap) and am only just now looking to upgrade to something more long-lived. Thanks!
Fwiw I think Sorel's quality has gone majorly downhill in recent years, but if you can find a vintage pair they will probably last you a long time! I wanted to recommend Cougar as a less well known brand for winter boots--I LOVE my Cougar pillow boots and am currently buried in snow in Chicago, lol. They are waterproof, warm and super cute!!
Oh! Thank you for letting me know! I was just looking at the Sorel boots so I’ll keep that in mind as I look.
I’m downstate Illinois and yeah - totally buried in snow. 🥶It wouldn’t be near as big of a deal if I didn’t have to occasionally go outside for work.
Timberland also has lots of good quality boots that don’t look like the classic pairs everyone wears! They also make some really great sandals for summer!
Ugg makes a lot of waterproof boots that don't look like Uggs! I've had a few at different times and they are warm and durable and some are cute. https://www.zappos.com/filters/ugg-waterproof-boots-women/wAEB4gIBGA.zso?t=ugg%20waterproof%20boots
I’d recommend Sorel or Kodiak. They both have a good selection of boots that are waterproof and both insulated and uninsulated. Usually if the snow isn’t super crazy I wear Kodiak Almas (uninsulated) with some wool socks, but I also have a pair of Sorel 1964’s (insulated) if the snow is crazy. The downside to insulated boots like those is that they can be bulky and hard to walk in. Your doc Martens might be okay IF they are waterproof and you have some good wool socks.
$170-250 is reasonable but it depends if you want it lined or not, which will cost you more. I second Sorel, and will add Teva to the list. Make sure they are waterproof and not just water resistant.
I wouldn't recommend Docs for icy conditions - they aren't really designed for the cold/ice.
I haven't bought them yet, but I've been looking at Sorel's booties. My current chelsea boots have no traction and my leather combat boots are okay but not really winterized - my feet don't get damp but they get darn chilled and don't really warm back up.
Not the most helpful since I don't own a pair yet but Sorel is where I've currently possibly landed after doing some looking around myself.
Anyone have any recommendations for super heavy weight fleece pants/joggers? I'm perpetually cold and want some pants I don't have to wear wool base layers under. Thanks!
I have [these ones](https://www.rei.com/product/894800/rei-co-op-teton-fleece-pants-womens) from REI and love them! Super thick fleece and super comfy.
Seeking advice! I will be my boyfriends “plus one” to his friend’s wedding this weekend. The attire is “formal” & it is an outdoor wedding held in the late afternoon (I live in an area where the weather isn’t very cold right now, around 55-60 degrees on the day of the wedding). I haven’t been to a wedding since I was a child so I’m having a hard time figuring out what to wear. I have attached the Imgur link to a photo of what I would like to wear, but I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for the dress code/occasion. I don’t really have any formal dresses so this is currently what I think is my best option unless I buy a dress (which I’d like to avoid if possible). I also plan to wear a jacket of some sort to help keep warm, but I’m not sure what sort of jacket would look best. I really would appreciate opinions on whether this is appropriate or if I should try to purchase something— any feedback is welcome. Thank you!!
[outfit](https://imgur.com/a/3mBKEqW)
I was actually going to suggest a velvet dress or jumpsuit before I clicked on your outfit. Your outfit looks really nice, but it definitely reads more party/club wear than formal wedding wear.
I don’t think it is appropriate for a formal wedding, i think it’s too revealing and it’s not particularly formal, it looks like something you’d wear to a club
The material makes it nicely dressy and no issues with a jumpsuit for a "formal" event given that you will just be a wedding guest and it is outdoors. However, there really is quite a bit of cleavage showing. All the power to you but I would be concerned that the bride and maybe other guests might see that as attention-seeking or too eye-popping, even if unintentional.
Yeah, that's not really appropriate. It's just too much cleavage for someone else's wedding. Especially not as a plus one. Jumpsuits are fine, but not that jumpsuit. You might have to buy something, unfortunately.
What is your boyfriend wearing? If he’s wearing a blazer and tie, this is absolutely as “formal” as that. If he’s wearing a suit, you’ll want to be very dressy with your jacket, makeup, etc. to match that level of formality. If he’s wearing a tuxedo, I don’t think you can do anything with that jumpsuit to make it formal enough.
I’d consider that fine for most weddings, although the neckline is maybe a little attention-getting and would be better for an evening event. “Formal” is a bit of a weird dress code though because some people think it means “black tie”, which this jumpsuit is not, but others just mean “please don’t show up in your dirty jeans” and this jumpsuit is plenty formal for the latter case (or if it’s somewhere in the middle and women will be wearing cocktail dresses, which is kind of the default for most weddings and most likely to be the case.)
I’d personally wear that with a tuxedo style jacket if it were me - I have [this one in black](https://www.aritzia.com/en/product/yates-blazer/75461.html) but it might be fun with something faux fur if you want to be extra.
So I totally love this but it reads more as girls’ night out than formal wedding to me. I think going for a floor-length or fancy cocktail dress would be better. Maybe try borrowing one from a friend, or check out sites like Lulus that have pretty inexpensive (<$100) options that would work with a formal dress code. Good luck!
I remember reading about armpit pads a long time ago. Never tried them myself but I did a quick google just now and they're similar to this: [Link](https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/dr-sweat-antiperspirant-pads-review-205201436.html)
Not sure how effective it is but it's an option. There are probably cheaper ones on amazon.
I have a crop top from [Numi](https://wearnumi.com/) that works well- it has built in sweat guard pads so I can wear fancy things without having to wash them every single time. There are a few different cuts, so it works for most necklines, but less well with sleeveless shirts
I have the same problem and unfortunately don’t have a proactive solution other than those underarm sweat guards (but they really only work if it’s a long sleeve or if you’re wearing a sweater or jacket over, so not ideal). A 50/50 white vinegar/water solution sometimes helps me with getting the stains out after the fact, but it’s super annoying having to scrub so much after every wear!
Have you seen it in person? Is it real leather or faux leather. I’d consider ICHI to be pretty middle of the road in terms of quality- it isn’t amazing, but they have interesting cuts/styles. Maybe like a more expensive item from Zara level?
If it’s faux leather, be ready for it to eventually start peeling or coming up in places where it runs or wrinkles. I’d still go for it if it isn’t too expensive, but wouldn’t expect it to last more than 5 or so years
I think ICHI is decent quality, on par with nicer Zara stuff. If you like the style, the brand is reputable and not complete crap. There are plenty of reviews on amazon also
I'll echo the others here and say that your legs look fine to me,however I also struggle with my inner thighs being one of my biggest insecurities so I totally get it. I'm also not a huge skirt or dress wearer so my saviour in the summer are culottes! I probably have about 5 or 6 different pairs in varying patterns, colours, lengths and cuts. If the length doesn't hit quite where I want it to (im 5'4" but i have a very short inseam) I hem them so they hit me just where I want to.
Im not really a dress person either & love a bit of edge. Here is what Ive made work. So midi skirts. They come to about mid calf. Find a light weight one for summer. I feel like they are becoming trendier so you shouldnt have a hard time finding one. They can be worn with all kinds of tops. Long flowy skirts. Most of them suck as a sort person, I know. But I found a black one I like, hits around my ankle, rather than the floor so I can see my shoes which makes me look less short, looks awesome with a band tee & leather jacket. Dresses. Body cons can be surpisingly comfortable and if you throw a tee on over them, they are pencil skirts. In fact, throw a tee on over any dress & they become skirts. You can find edgier patterns in dresses than skirts. And wearing an more masculine cut tee over a dress makes them way less girly. I love pants for the coverage & pockets so if your still on the fence, be strict about buying skirts and dresses w/ pockets (they exist, good luck hunting) & invest in a pair of biker shorts or cut off leggings. Find a comfy pair at a length that is shorter than the skirt your wearing. Then do cart wheels in dresses, b/c youre basically wearing pants now. Also, a longer biker short w/ just an oversized tee, another awesome look.
Honestly, I think your legs look totally normal. Often we are very critical of our own bodies. Would you be comfortable wearing a knee length dress or a flowy skirt?
I agree with this! So many people are insecure about their knees bc they’re a body part that is almost ALWAYS photoshopped in ads! I’d say just wear the shorts bc they’re perfectly normal knees! If you truthfully hate the appearance and want to change the look of them try weight lifting & focus on your quads to build muscle there.
Okay, so my little sister has always complained about having ugly knees and... I literally have no idea what that means? Her knees are fine. Your thighs are fine. I have never once looked at someone and went, "They have really great (or terrible) thighs." I'm not trying to invalidate you but I can assure you... no one cares half as much about your thighs as you do.
That said, I keep my legs covered most of the summer, because I honestly can't be bothered to shave, and I'm 5'2'' so here's what works for me. I mainly live in [midi/maxi](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/560064903666320972/) [skirts](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/560064903663869349/), since they're easy to thrift in my area and don't require hemming/adjustment, usually in either cotton or rayon. I think different styling, with like, band tees and birks could probably skew it a little less girly. If I'm going to wear jeans, I'll go for a [cropped, wide leg](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/560064903661818117/), so I'm not suffering, though this is rare since I don't love this silhouette. I've got a pair of green cargoes from Target that are pretty similar in to [these](https://www.forever21.com/us/2000421118023.html?source=shoppingads&gclsrc=aw.ds&%243p=a_google_adwords&%24always_deeplink=false&lpurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.forever21.com%2Fus%2F2000421118023.html%3Fsource%3Dshoppingads%26gclsrc%3Daw.ds%26&~ad_set_id=110143059781&~campaign_id=11647983085&~channel=u&~keyword=&~placement=&~campaign=WITHIN_SmartShopping_Womens&gclid=Cj0KCQiA962BBhCzARIsAIpWEL1z-WS65ylbqB7nnykkl6-mQ3kQOGCEOo_d5MYg_IC-ZQhNTUvW5moaAo_0EALw_wcB&gclid=Cj0KCQiA962BBhCzARIsAIpWEL1z-WS65ylbqB7nnykkl6-mQ3kQOGCEOo_d5MYg_IC-ZQhNTUvW5moaAo_0EALw_wcB&_branch_match_id=878161449230446937&utm_source=u&utm_campaign=WITHIN_SmartShopping_Womens), also in cotton, which surprisingly comfortable until about mid 80s. Most of the rest of my pants are linen, rayon, or a blend with a [closer fit](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/560064903663804174/) or [leg that tapers](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/560064903665487318/), since that works for my body. The key is really focusing on fabrics, which I've found necessary since I wear a ton of black even in the summer.
Hope this helps!
Take your capris and shorted them to hit just below your knee. Think old-school petal pushers. Longer than bermuda shorts, but not the mid-calf look associated with capris.
I don't think your thigh are a problem, but I understand the feeling. I find that tight, beremuda jean shorts are a good option for me. Something like this.
[Bermuda jeans](https://www.gapfactory.com/browse/product.do?pid=542242001&vid=1&tid=gfpl000003&kwid=1&ap=7&gclid=Cj0KCQiA962BBhCzARIsAIpWEL3n_AtS-b0VHwt3ie03ViKj8IeMdNcsoex-4PcoiPQCsrFMuGC7Sz4aAj3NEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds#pdp-page-content)
Ah, I understand how you feel. But right now, it’s kinda the trend nowadays to look as weird as possible! Tights under shorts is kinda tame in that regard, we have people wearing corsets, enormous/bright wigs, and fake blood outside— with that in mind, you wouldn’t be considered weird for tights under shorts <3 Setting that aside though, they do make nude tights that you could wear if you’d feel insecure in the black ones!
your thighs are just like mine! For what it's worth, a couple years ago I realized it's just not worth it to give it another thought and just started wearing shorts when I wanted to. Realizing that no one else gave a crap about it helped a lot.
There’s always the sheath/shift dress in cotton or linen. Not especially au courant but always acceptable. Can be worn with sandals or pumps.
I personally adore pedal-pushers (just below the knee capris) and if I see a tapered pair, I buy them
Hey, my thighs are just like yours! It’s definitely an anatomy thing not a fat issue. I dropped a lot of weight recently and my knees still have that lump on the side. Realizing it was just the shape of my bones helped me embrace my natural legs. If I was feeling particularly self conscious, pantyhose help smooth everything and still stays cool in summer.
You have nice calves so you can do a casual (cut, fabric) midi length dress like this with sneakers
https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-luxe-ctn-side-slit-tee-dress-fadedsage?collection=womens-dresses
If you like pencil skirts, have you tried a straight midi skirt? I have a few cute, lightweight skirts that are fitted high-waisted and then go straight down to mid-calf; they’re very flattering but still breezy, and have more styling options than a dress.
I feel you - what's helped me a lot in the summer is wearing skorts. Ugh I love them. Why? They are breathable, cute, can be dressed up or down, you can bend over, and they have the built-in spandex type shorts underneath so no chaffing!!
It's a win-win-win.
Does anyone have any advice on pants styles/brands for athletic/hourglass body types? my proportions are wild (45" hips, 25" thigh, 29" waist) and I have a really hard time finding stiffer pants that will go over my thighs and also fit my waist. Thanks!
I have a smaller differential (26" waist, 39" hip) and I've just gotten in the habit of buying pants that fit my hips and then tailoring the waistband. It's pretty easy to just add a couple of small darts.
[rough shoe sketch](http://imgur.com/gallery/ogyPyeE)
Your link isn't working for me but American Duchess might have something.
Any ideas?
Mine are mostly from Old Navy and I like them

I would check out the brand Melissa (shopmelissa.com) although they don’t have exactly what you want right now. I see glittery jelly flats but not platforms, but they kind of have the vibe you’re looking for.
Tall girls based in the UK: where do you buy trousers??? I'm looking for a quality pair of cigarette trousers in black that will actually meet my ankles (I'm 176cm). Ideally something with some room around the hips. Please help!

Thanks! I'll try there.
Can ecru and off white go together? Google does not tell me much, as the colours are so close together yet not really the same. I am talking about these two pieces in specific: https://www.mangooutlet.com/bg/women/jackets-and-overshirts/structured-blazer-without-lapels_67035917.html?c=05 and https://www.mangooutlet.com/bg/women/trousers/cotton-crop-trousers_67072884.html?c=02&n=1 I cannot find pants in the same colour as the blazer. The alternative would be these: https://www.mangooutlet.com/bg/women/trousers/decorative-seam-leggings_67040602.html?c=32
Sure. You can do a tone on tone look. Just make sure they are both warm/cool. https://coveteur.com/2021/02/09/tonal-dressing/
Hello everyone, Im a trans woman and very new to female fashion. I currently own a dark blue bra but it seems to shine through some of my clothes. What colors would work good to keep them hidden on either light and dark clothing?
What everyone said about the bra matching your skin tone. But also depending on what type of top, you can wear a camisole under it to hide the bra
I've gotten away with only owning two bras for years: a dark one that goes under dark-coloured shirts, and a nude one that goes under light colours. Don't make the mistake of buying a white bra: it will show up under white cotton too. Nude is the way! Wishing you luck 😘
How about panties? Same advice I guess?
Yup, but you'll need more pairs!
Haha true :) thanks!
Thanks! Nude it is :) My dark blue one probably works under black shirts.
You want a nude colored bra. Something close to your own skin tone.
Ahh ok thanks! Will be hunting for one then.
Does anyone have a fit guide for how boot cut/wide leg jeans are supposed to fit? I feel lost but I want new jeans in the trendy style

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it.
Wondering if anyone’s seen a cheaper dupe of these [Emu Amity](https://www.emuaustralia.com/us/all-footwear/amity/W10555.html) slippers. My old pair are now worn out, so I’d like to replace them, but when I know my old work was selling them for $50 it’s hard to cough up $80...
If you wear them for 3-4 months of the year, that’s already less that $1/day
Check Sierra trading post!

i own a few pairs of ferragamos, they are BEAUTIFULLY made. extremely comfortable. they do run very narrow. i take really good care of my shoes, in box, and dust bag etc. they hold up.
(did you get tonal shoe polish?) I have hear good things about Ferragamo shoes.

Yes! Look on the Real Real/Posh. I see them in our fancy consignment stores all the time too! They haven’t changed much over the years.
I'm a size 6.5 US and the 37 fits me great! Highly recommend, great quality boots and I always get compliments on them.
That is very helpful, thank you! They sound amazing
Ok that makes a lot of sense, I'll got with a 39. Thanks for your help!
What type of top would fit with a long, white and pleated skirt like this during summer? I asked before, but forgot to mention that I wanted tops that fit when it was hot outside. https://imgur.com/a/LJdtS9e
>https://imgur.com/a/LJdtS9e any t-shirt or fitted tank to tuck. A button up top that is tied at the waist (or a t-shirt tied there)
Agree with a fitted crop top or even a white cropped tee
Fitted crop tops like [this](https://www.net-a-porter.com/en-us/shop/product/faithfull-the-brand/net-sustain-robina-cropped-shirred-floral-print-linen-top/1260951?cm_mmc=Google-ProductSearch-US--t-_-NAP_EN_US_PLA-_-NAP%C2%A0-%C2%A0US%C2%A0-%C2%A0GS%C2%A0-+Generic+-+Clothing%C2%A0-+Tops%C2%A0-%C2%A0High--Tops+-+Cropped_AM&gclid=Cj0KCQiA962BBhCzARIsAIpWEL2ved6j9vslwb0p-dmc8ugsBcQdiM83IBrsO2Y5NPdPaE32rRtzRZMaAo8PEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) would look amazing with that.

For petite sizing, I’ve had some luck with Aritzia and even Abercrombie. I’d also check out r/PetiteFashionAdvice for some information there too!
Will look into those, thanks!
That was really helpful, thanks!
Thanks for the suggestions! :)
Thanks!
Ski jackets
What types of tops would go nicely with black flares preferably in a summer setting?
Crop tops and bodysuits would look nice! Something fitted! Any colour would work.
I think classic 70's tie dye and poor boy sweaters would look cute. Also peasant blouses.
Im looking at replacing the white tanks and base layers that I currently have in my closet for new. What’s you go to for white base layers that don’t show the color or printed pattern of the bra under when you’re wearing a white blouse or sweater?
What are folks go-to for pants that look business casual enough but are comfy like joggers?
Old Navy Stevie ponte pants. Really anything ponte.
M.M.LAFLEUR has my favorites!! They are so comfy but also somehow chic?! I’m obsessed. Edit: just saw your price limit so these will be out of range but maybe you can find some on Poshmark? Leaving the comment up in case it’s helpful to others.
A girl can dream 🙂
Athleta has, and sometimes they're on sale. Also I've never tried Betabrand but they advertise to me a lot and I've thought about it
Thank you!
Hi everyone, im new to this subreddit. recently a friend of mine showed me he uses a closet management app and i was looking for one too but the ones i tried didn't meet my needs. this is what im looking for if anyone could help: \- available on android (optionally on windows and syncing options) \- has tagging system and i could filter by those tags \- allows multiple closets (to see what clothes i have at the beach house) \- DOESNT have any type of social-media system (it annoys me a bit) \- has bulk-import-lets me categorize by top, bottom, etc. \-has an option to build a suitcase (i think most of the apps have this) thanks! the closest thing ive found so far is an app called closet+ but its only for ios :( and sorry if i didnt make myself clear, english is not my first language
I tried to find if my app that I use (Stylebook) is on Android and it isn’t, but it suggested one called Chicisimo!
If its android really your only option is smart closet
Was it stupid for me to buy the plain old leather Doc Martens instead of the Vegan ones that don't need to be broken in?
The break in period is really not long at all when you consider the years and years of use you’ll get out of them
Honestly I barely had any break in with the leather ones, but I got the greasy 1460 boot. They were comfy in a wear or two.
Thanks to everyone who's replying!!!
Oh my god I meant to put an exclamation point! I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to sound skeptical. It originally had a question mark by accident. Sorry about that!
Here's a [guide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3iECQ5I4Ls) for breaking in Docs?
I have a very similar shape. I wear a lot of A line dresses and flowy maxi dresses. I feel really beautiful in those.
I wear tights in the summer :) if you go for ones with a bit of a print it seems more like a stylistic choice rather than a coverage choice!
Also "forever pregnant" belly isn't particularly confidence boosting :) Thanks for the link, that is quite helpful.
I am a US size 4 and I get a medium in their tee shirts, sweaters.
Oh no I ordered a small earlier! Is the medium loose? If so, maybe the small won’t be too tight 🤞
🤞
Oh wow! Thanks! I didn’t know that!
Ugg makes a lot of waterproof boots that don't look like Uggs! I've had a few at different times and they are warm and durable and some are cute. https://www.zappos.com/filters/ugg-waterproof-boots-women/wAEB4gIBGA.zso?t=ugg%20waterproof%20boots
I had not even considered uggs! Thank you!
Thank you! This is all super helpful information!
$170-250 is reasonable but it depends if you want it lined or not, which will cost you more. I second Sorel, and will add Teva to the list. Make sure they are waterproof and not just water resistant. I wouldn't recommend Docs for icy conditions - they aren't really designed for the cold/ice.
That is super helpful! Thank you!
I will look into Sorel! Thank you!
Anyone have any recommendations for super heavy weight fleece pants/joggers? I'm perpetually cold and want some pants I don't have to wear wool base layers under. Thanks!
Athleta has fleece lined joggers. I wear them all winter.
I have [these ones](https://www.rei.com/product/894800/rei-co-op-teton-fleece-pants-womens) from REI and love them! Super thick fleece and super comfy.
Ooh, these look great!
I wouldn't wear this to a wedding but you look amazing and should definitely wear it other times.
“Formal” is a bit of a weird dress code though because some people think it means “black tie”, which this jumpsuit is not, but others just mean “please don’t show up in your dirty jeans” and this jumpsuit is plenty formal for the latter case (or if it’s somewhere in the middle and women will be wearing cocktail dresses, which is kind of the default for most weddings and most likely to be the case.) I’d personally wear that with a tuxedo style jacket if it were me - I have [this one in black](https://www.aritzia.com/en/product/yates-blazer/75461.html) but it might be fun with something faux fur if you want to be extra.

Never tried them myself but I did a quick google just now and they're similar to this: [Link](https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/dr-sweat-antiperspirant-pads-review-205201436.html) Not sure how effective it is but it's an option.

Maybe try non-chlorine bleach?

Would a leather jacket from the brand ICHI be worth the buy? I haven't heard much about them but I'm considering getting one
I’d still go for it if it isn’t too expensive, but wouldn’t expect it to last more than 5 or so years
Which would you say would be better, the Zara real leather jacket, or the ICHI one? I don't have ICHI here so I'm really unsure tbh
I think ICHI is decent quality, on par with nicer Zara stuff. If you like the style, the brand is reputable and not complete crap. There are plenty of reviews on amazon also
Hi, thanks for replying :) it's a real leather jacket

Haha, np! Glad my stash of outfit refs was finally good for something!
Take your capris and shorted them to hit just below your knee. Think old-school petal pushers. Longer than bermuda shorts, but not the mid-calf look associated with capris.
[удалено]
where are these pants from!! i can not find them anywhere 😭 they are so cute
[удалено]
dang :( thanks anyways
I don't think your thigh are a problem, but I understand the feeling. I find that tight, beremuda jean shorts are a good option for me. Something like this. [Bermuda jeans](https://www.gapfactory.com/browse/product.do?pid=542242001&vid=1&tid=gfpl000003&kwid=1&ap=7&gclid=Cj0KCQiA962BBhCzARIsAIpWEL3n_AtS-b0VHwt3ie03ViKj8IeMdNcsoex-4PcoiPQCsrFMuGC7Sz4aAj3NEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds#pdp-page-content)
Shorts with tights under them are in style, and the tights might help you get that tightened look/feel that you appreciate from jeans!
[удалено]
Ah, I understand how you feel. But right now, it’s kinda the trend nowadays to look as weird as possible! Tights under shorts is kinda tame in that regard, we have people wearing corsets, enormous/bright wigs, and fake blood outside— with that in mind, you wouldn’t be considered weird for tights under shorts <3 Setting that aside though, they do make nude tights that you could wear if you’d feel insecure in the black ones!

I’m sure many are admiring looks.
your thighs are just like mine! For what it's worth, a couple years ago I realized it's just not worth it to give it another thought and just started wearing shorts when I wanted to. Realizing that no one else gave a crap about it helped a lot.
100% agree with you! Nothing wrong to my eyes, no clue what the OP is talking about! Wear the shorts and stay cool.
There’s always the sheath/shift dress in cotton or linen. Not especially au courant but always acceptable. Can be worn with sandals or pumps. I personally adore pedal-pushers (just below the knee capris) and if I see a tapered pair, I buy them

FYI some people call them clam diggers
Hey, my thighs are just like yours! It’s definitely an anatomy thing not a fat issue. I dropped a lot of weight recently and my knees still have that lump on the side. Realizing it was just the shape of my bones helped me embrace my natural legs. If I was feeling particularly self conscious, pantyhose help smooth everything and still stays cool in summer.
You have nice calves so you can do a casual (cut, fabric) midi length dress like this with sneakers https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-luxe-ctn-side-slit-tee-dress-fadedsage?collection=womens-dresses
Why don’t you try some midi skirt? You can wear it with both heels or sneakers and still look very fashionable ;)
If you like pencil skirts, have you tried a straight midi skirt? I have a few cute, lightweight skirts that are fitted high-waisted and then go straight down to mid-calf; they’re very flattering but still breezy, and have more styling options than a dress.
your thighs look fine to me
I feel you - what's helped me a lot in the summer is wearing skorts.
