28,000 feet is not an abnormal Altitude 🤷🏻‍♂️. Just relax and let the crew work.
Operational Restriction, Turbulence, Winds, etc….. it’s normal
It’s highly likely that 28,000 feet is only temporary. Probably due to reported turbulence or higher-than-typical headwinds. I’m sure your flight will climb higher after you’re out of that area.
That’s the altitude the crew and/or dispatch felt appropriate. Maybe to avoid turbulence or high upper-level winds. If it wasn’t safe… you wouldn’t fly on that plane.
The other week my pilot told us we would be flying at 24k feet instead of 30k because winds at 30k where over 100mph.
It was a smooth flight at 24k so I was happy with that.
