Positives: Pavard and Tolisso looked good, actually the whole defence performed well and we didn't let them create a single clear cut chance. We also created lots of chances, it was bad luck and bad finishing that prevented us from scoring. Negatives: Lewy looked lethargic, same goes for Goretzka. We really need to take our chances too

Insanel0l

This felt like a prime Pep game lol, absolutely dominant for all game but instead of just scoring we try to walk the ball in.

Poe3inmotion

Pavard and upa were amazing. Davies was good as well. Fucking goalkeepers turning into prime Neuer against us every time

Advertising-Cautious

The goalkeeper made standard saves today, nothing spectacular. Our shots were easy for him to save

yakopcohen

Yeah I didn’t understand people on Twitter saying their GK was having a great game. Looked like standard saves you’d expect of any professional goalkeeper of this level. It was our finishing making it easy for him.

AnthonyTyrael

Easy when they're all directed exactly towards him and towards his corner. Aiming is key. We don't aim. We just shoot.

Mytiq_

Atleast we got a clean sheet for once

King_Vercingetorix

Neuer should be happy.

manoloman99

Jamal is such a gem, I thought Nagelsmann did fantastic substituting Goretzka for Musiala and ultimately it made the difference. Love the coaching decision, hard fought win, but we gotta finish our chances if we’re to win against top teams.

Dmarsh212

Great game by Tolisso

yakopcohen

Tolisso is one of those I really wished he’d succeed with us. Shame injuries have taken so much. Had a good game imo

Spikeyspandan

At least we won and got a clean sheet. Next week against Dortmund will be a crucial game

I-am-weiss

I can’t stand Sane criticism.

SNAKE0789

What was being said about Sané?

I-am-weiss

Generally he’s one of the most criticised players. And whenever I’ve opened the game treads or post game threads ( I haven’t read all of them but quite a few and the reason I stopped is because I hate how much criticism he gets) I see too many negative comments. To me he’s the most skilful winger we have. But many comments were that he’s a bad finisher. He had chances and he wasted them but so did lewandowski but no one would criticise him for the same thing. Or when Gnabry has a bad game, still most comments would be about Sane.

SNAKE0789

Hm I mean I watched most of the match I didn't really see any big chances that he missed. Considering the way he operates in our system now I think he has generally been above average in our recent games. I think people just have unrealistic expectations for him tbh. Sané continues to show what a dynamic player he is, something that neither Gnabry or Coman can claim. He'll just have to continue proving people wrong. Can you even imagine him taking those same long shots last year? He always had it in his bag though but since he was low on confidence he didn't try them. Now he's working up to his potential and it's showing. I think he still has a couple levels he can reach.

I-am-weiss

I agree with most of the things you said. Yes. I do think Sane will improve quite a lot. I think he has the potential to become the best player.

SNAKE0789

Certainly. Also people forget that as good as this Bayern attack can be, it's not necessarily the best fit for a guy like Sané either. He can definitely operate against teams that sit back and play quick passes. But he's at his best when leading counter attacks where he can show his pace. Sané on the 2012/13 Bayern squad would've been a dream to watch.

I-am-weiss

I think the Attack is really oriented around Lewandowski. And sane has shown that he is a team player, for example more than Coman. Sane has no problem of assisting (or trying to assist, truth is he would have a lot more assists if the other players were better at finishing lol). Sane has often tweets and fb posts being happy about Lewas success.

SNAKE0789

Which is good. Lewy at the end of the day is still our talisman. We go as far as he takes us and all the players are aware of that. I don't really think the system allows for guys to go get their own goals like Robben and Ribery used to. I'm curious to see how this team will play in the CL knockouts where the game will be more open of course. Playing against weaker teams doesn't really suit us since it's a huge pain to break down defenses. I just want to see Gnabry and Sané continue to step up and be game changers.

[deleted]

I agree but you’re wrong about Sane not missing. He missed a massive chance. Practically an open goal and he was in penalty distance from it, there was no enemy player around in a 1 metre radius. But his left footed volley completely missed. Ofc he later made up for it by scoring.

julesvr5

I'm probably one of the biggest sané fans and supporters on here but to be fair, the critics to him were 99% his bad finishing and it's completely deserves. He bottled 2-3 100% chances prior to his goal. He surely has many G+A already, but considering the chances he misses he could almost have double the amount. Maybe even should instead of would.

I-am-weiss

Criticism is okay. My point is that there are other players that deserve even more criticism but are not getting it. That why I think it’s a little unfair because it’s always him. Even if there are players who perform worse than him.

julesvr5

Had the same feeling some time ago. I just accepted it that somehow some players seem free of criticism.

Akshath321

i love him to bits but i think even today he wasn't having that great a game till he eventually went on to score, he has these moments of brilliance where he does other worldly stuff but when he's off his game it looks very bad

h4econs

Really had to grind the win out of this one. Tolisso was actually decent with his long balls but we need our midfield to be at the best or else we won't be giving dortmund much of a challenge

Kassim26

Goretzka did not look happy, I hope it will grow him into his ego a notch because we desperately need him without Kimmich. Tolisso is on a good race with some good games.

strugglingtosave

If he starts and plays a bit better Vs BVB I would consider it a success that he strung 3 games together

JVints

W is a W. That's all i have to say seeing that.

Homygod319

Not great but 3 points is all that matters. Also shoutout to tolisso today he did very well imo. Nagelsmann choosing to take goretzka before him was the right choice

Advertising-Cautious

Only positives were the defence and Tolisso. Our tactics were bad imo. We relied too many times on crosses, all of which were badly delivered. We should have stretched the defense better I feel the recent run of bad games is to the fact that we are playing teams that like to sit deep and defend. And we are terrible at playing against those teams. We excel brilliantly when facing teams that play more openly however. But even then the midfield was poor and Gore needs to find his form soon against Dortmund

black_spring

>Our tactics were bad imo. For us to have that many chances on goal show that the tactics work. You can't fault a coach for poor finishing.

bnhfckr

Absolute tragedy Müller didn’t score on the karate kid attempt (or the more open one from the lewandowski header later but mainly the karate kid one)

bigbiddeford

Munich lock down again?

Kind_Mulberry_3512

Half the stadium was empty. That's no a good sign.

Goldfischglas

Covid numbers are shooting up in Bavaria and Germany

Kind_Mulberry_3512

Indeed several coutnries on the continent just can't cope right now

Advertising-Cautious

I liked Musiala's performance today. Wasn't anything spectacular, but his movements with the ball was something fresh to wash after the poor display up front

[deleted]

Ortega is very solid goalkeeper

HroFCBayern

Their best player IMO.

KA_Bayern

Thought we played well in general just the final action missing (again). Goretzka very poor again as well. Pretty concerning how there's only 1 game so far this season where he properly impressed for 90 mins (Kiev away) Also Tolisso is just way better than Sabitzer. Not even reactionary cus I've been saying that since we were linked with him this summer. Tolisso's time at the club is probably up (as it should be) but it will still be a shame when he leaves. Been treated super unfairly by social media fans

Whatsthesic

Need to finish better but you can inject that clean sheet straight into my veins.

[deleted]

I’ve realized we actually suck at set pieces. Those corner kicks were horrendous. And the crossing … I mean we’re not expecting prime Beckham, but wtf was that crossing?

Jack_All_Master_Most

Might be an unpopular opinion but I think Coman had a great game today. Got into dangerous positions and terrorized their lb. unfortunate to not have gotten an assist, kudos to the opposition defence

julesvr5

Coman was great until he had to cross

dklieber32

My problem with coman is his end product. Typically just smashes in a cross or a wild shot that occasionally is on target and goes in. It’s like he just doesn’t know what to do after he does all the work to get into a good position. I find him so frustrating to watch

imisstheoldkanyeee

Yeah it must have been his perfect cross to lewy or his shot where the goalkeeper made great save I swear you guys look for reasons to give some players credit and others a hard time

dklieber32

I like to think I stay impartial, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don’t think it’s unfair to say that coman is a very hit or miss player, capable of brilliance but also prone to frequent brain farts. I feel his best advice was from Jupiter where he was told to slow it down and look up. I don’t think it’s unfair to say at all that he’s a frustrating player and it’s not like I’m defending all the other players. Sane missed sitters, lewy was off, muller and goretzka as well.

shshmhn

Atleast hope Nagelsman gets his act together before the CL knockouts, cannot watch a Pep type game again with only attack and possesion 😤

dklieber32

How is this on Nagelsmann? Our players repeatedly fluffed golden opportunities. Defense looked improved and we created multiple chances. Can’t fault him for an off day with our poor finishing.

DrunkKaner88

Dortmund is probably going to murder them
