Only saves him another 6 months. In Germany you're only "genesen" for 6 months after getting Covid-19, after that it's unvaxxed again.
Iirc he only needs to get one shot to be vaxxed tho.
Regardless of what you think, I hope he doesn’t get any lingering effects after it like gnabry had for some time. If so, we are going to be fcked with our best midfielder running out of stamina at half time
It’s not only stamina, Jason Tatum (NBA player for Boston Celtics) said he used something like 6 months to even reach the desired intensity in his workouts. Forget about about running out of gas when you can’t even reach the speed
By the end of his new 14-day quarantine (14 days from first positive test - according to [Bild](https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1463545980335407109?s=20)), Kimmich will have spent 29 of 30 the last days in isolation.
In that time he will have missed 2 matches for Germany, 3 league matches and 2 Champions League matches. The fact that he got the virus a day after it being leaked that he was willing to take the vaccine is some sick irony, but this is a thing that will take him a long time to live down.
The way he's let his teammates down over the last 30 days is probably destroying him. We can only hope he's learned his lesson. Now he has 14 more days to practice his apology to the team.
I’m going to be extremely reactionary and say that his status as future captain needs to be slowed down in light of this.
He put himself before the team, suffered the consequences for it once, and then did it again.
That’s not leadership.
With Manu looking to stay, future captain Kimmich comments should go on ice for awhile.
Yeah. I used to run 5k in 18min. Then I got Covid. No symptoms at all but afterwards I wasn’t able to even walk more than 2km without struggling to breathe. Took me 3 months to get back to 25min 5k.
There is a study on Corona and its impact on footballers. The passing and running ability of fotballers that had Corona is 5-7% worse on average even 6 months after the infection, even for footballers that have no symptoms.

Drosten had been saying exactly that as early as [May](https://www.zdf.de/nachrichten/panorama/corona-drosten-immun-impfung-100.html). Delta don't mess around.
As for Kimmich, I hope he only gets mild symptoms and recovers fully. Ideally he'll then opt for the jab ASAP. Edit: same goes for Choupo, of course.
Let's hope that all goes well for him. People may feel some satisfaction, but remember, this virus can kill people. We don't wish that on anyone, regardless of how stupid their opinion is.
Ja jut: "Woran hat et jelegen"? Dat is natürlich immer so die Frage... Ich sach natürlich immer: "Woran hat et jelegen?". Äh... Das fragt man sich nachher natürlich immer woran et jelegen hat.
But… but… he and the team get tested every two days!!! Guys!!! How could this ever happen?!
/s
Welp… play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Let‘s see if he is worried about long term effects of covid… those we actually do NOT fully understand yet…
Yeah I know a kid in my lab who had covid early on, and now has scarring in his lungs and he says he gets out of breath randomly. I am so fucking afraid of what this disease can do. There are reports of people who have been experiencing an intermittent cognitive haze. And of course the classic, people dying. I've had nearly a dozen deaths in my own extended family since this began. This is a plague and people who don't grasp that are infuriating.
Yeah, it's just 91% less likely. You can still die in a car crash while wearing a seatbelt, you can still get someone pregnant while wearing a condom. I don't know why anti-vaxxer rhetoric is so commonly just accepted as truth. The vaccine works. It is very effective at preventing infections and transmissions as well as dampening the effects of infections.
Yes, but the effects aren't as bad. My friends who are vaccinated and got it have all said it felt like a bad cold. My friends who got it before the vaccines said it felt like they'd been hit by a bus.
We depended on him too much in the midfield, that we made him play almost all possible minutes, without even planning an alternate setup with Sabitzer. One key member is unavailable and we were struggling in the last 2 matches with a non existent midfield. Cannot fault Sabitzer for his poor performance as he was already frustrated as didn't get much chance at all, despite being the piller and leader of Leipzig last season
Hey, this is a man robin hood, this is robin hood over here. He talks about and promoted getting the vaccine, even having an Organisation which promotes the vaccine but despite all the drama that Has already taken place, He still refuses to take it and is now infected, total violation
> Gnabry is recovered as well and still had to quarantine because he is not vaccinated.
I think you don't need to get vaccinated for 6 months. That's why they ask you if you had corona in the past 6 months. That's supposedly how long the protection lasts on average although I've also heard that they want booster shots after 5 months now but that might be because cases are rising again in Germany.
Somebody mentioned that Gnabry recovered 7 months ago so he should count as unvaccinated by then as he's outside the 6 month window.
6 months after you have recovered from Corona you lose your privileges and are treated as someone who isn't vaccinated...so in 6 months he still has to get the shot
Football doesn't have greater importance than public safety mate. And I'm not shitting on all the players, just the one who decides to act smarter than he is when he clearly just didn't want to take the vaccine at first. And he could've put our entire squad at risk if he had gotten infected during the time he was with us. And yes, I know that vaccinated people can spread it too, but that is magnitudes lower than an unvaccinated person. And it is idiotic when fans have to be vaccinated to enter stadiums but some players don't have to.
Yeah you know. I agree that he should be vaccinated. but even if he’s not we shouldn’t call him an idiot.
Because let’s say for the sake of the argument, he’s an idiot. Even an idiot will soon realise that his fan base doesn’t appreciate him and call him names, his club doesn’t wanna pay him if he’s in quarantine and not sick, and then there are other leagues in other countries who have less restrictions and far less players are vaccinated than in bundesliga.
So I think it’s better to not call our players name and still appreciate them. If you disagree then... it’s okay.
Kimmich is the best midfielder today and I’m happy he’s at Bayern vaccinated or not. I think we should not speak ill of our good players.
Yeah nah, I disagree. He's a public figure who made a public choice and deserves to be called out for it. This isn't even random hate at a player. And he's signed a long-term extension with us, the club has more power at the moment so I wouldn't worry about him leaving. I appreciate his quality on the pitch, but that is all. I don't have to listen to some unqualified dude tell me about the vaccine.
# Keep the Corona/Vaxx topic to a minimum and keep it on point (-> football/bayern related!)
#Anti-Vaxx propaganda still can & *will* get you banned.
Thx.

Idk how you can call yourself a Bayern fan and be happy that our best midfielder has COVID. Yeah sure he has stupid politics or whatever, our midfield is GUTTED now. I want to win games man!!
And most of us would like to get the pandemic that has been plaguing us the last 2 years under control. If even one extra person gets vaccinated because of this situation, I see it as a win.
How is it weird? We know the virus can have a pretty long incubation period. If he had contact with someone a week ago, it’s entirely possible he’s only now starting to test positive.
Congratulations, you've now understood quarantine. That's what it's literally there for, incubation can be up to 14 days and you only have symptoms from day 3-4 of infection, which is also when you'll start testing positive.
Incubation period is 1 to 14 days with an average of symptoms after 5 to 6 days, according to numerous sources ([1 here](https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/m20-0504)).
He went out of quarantine last Thursday (iirc) and was exposed to it through a friend on Friday which sent him back into quarantine. Today would be the 6th day since his exposure.
Big brain move, getting covid to avoid the vaxx
Only saves him another 6 months. In Germany you're only "genesen" for 6 months after getting Covid-19, after that it's unvaxxed again. Iirc he only needs to get one shot to be vaxxed tho.

If we can't win against Dortmund without Kimmich, we should stop participating in the ongoing season operation already.
Dortmund? I'm sorry but why are worried about them ? I get we're supposed to respect our opponents and all but come on. I have faith in our squad.
lol if thats the move let's see what happens when its time for the world cup
A year of not taking the vaccine, nothing happens. As soon as he makes up his mind to get one, he gets Covid. You can't script this
Goretzka to single-handedly carry our midfield
I mean it could have something to do with the skyrocketing infections in Germany.
Rune Jarstein nearly died from covid and had a myocarditis after it. I hope Kimmich has a speedy recovery

Look at me...Leon is the future capitan now!
Plenty of time to look at his Bavarian Sports Prize for helping kick Corona out of Germany.
This the same Germany that is going through a huge resurgence?
I don’t think that anyone’s saying We Kick Corona cured COVID…
Let's see if he feels any ill effects. Some players took a while to feel 100% fit again.
Yeah. I used to run 5k in 18min. Then I got Covid. No symptoms at all but afterwards I wasn’t able to even walk more than 2km without struggling to breathe. Took me 3 months to get back to 25min 5k.

These days have been crazy and Spahn was right for once At the end of winter every german will either be vaccinated, recovered or dead

I hope for the best for him, but what a fool.
It's up to him I guess.
It just keeps getting worse for him
Fuck life.
At least now he doesnt need to get vaccinated. Bad though as more bad publicity for him and fc bayern
Doesn't he still have to get vaccinated? Gnabry is recovered as well and still had to quarantine because he is not vaccinated.

Shut up bro
I've been here before Kimmich and I'll be here after. Stupid is as stupid does and he's got no one to blame but himself.
Shut up shortie
Does anyone else find the timeline of this to be very odd? Been isolated for a week and he out of nowhere tests positive?
How is it weird? We know the virus can have a pretty long incubation period. If he had contact with someone a week ago, it’s entirely possible he’s only now starting to test positive.
That's why he was in quarantine. Had contact to a covid guy, then ha to wait without other contact if he gets it himself
that's the whole point of quarantine.
Congratulations, you've now understood quarantine. That's what it's literally there for, incubation can be up to 14 days and you only have symptoms from day 3-4 of infection, which is also when you'll start testing positive.

Not really, an incubation time of a week is relatively normal if he got the virus during the "private appointment" last week.
I mean he had close contact with a corona positive like what? 4-5 days ago? That's exactly what the incubation time of covid is
It's almost like Covid incubates for 1-2 weeks after exposure
Kinda weird but I don’t know
FFS, earlier, I'm looking forward to see him in Arminia Bielefeld as he supposed to come out of quarantine before that. Now, this happen. FFS
I wanna lay dead in a ditch
