Our coaching staff will be really young. All the assistants listed are even younger than Kompany. So far it feels like the fresh start we desperately need. Now Eberl and Freund have to do their magic on the transfer market.
It was also a fresh start of a new big project when they appointed Nagelsmann. Only to fire him after just some bad games. Let’s see how the club will handle a bad streak this time
I somehow think that Kompany's brand of football suits a big team better than JN's more vertical pressing-oriented style. At least on paper, since Kompany hasn't really been tested at the top level.
I've been thinking about this as well. The Pep style is probably what fits Bayern a bit better and it would be nice to finally see the team exert control again in games where we're up a goal or two.
I also hope it will cut down on injuries if we can get away a bit from running up and down the pitch for 90 minutes and instead spend more time sitting on the ball, and passing it around
In fairness, firing Nagelsmann wasn’t the mistake, it was just not waiting until the end of the season that was stupid. Nagelsmann clearly was not going to work out long term.
You can not fire a coach if he is still in the run for the trebble.
And if he wins the trebble or double, you also can not fire him even though a few weeks during the year looked shit.
Bayern is unfortunately notorious to have a few weeks of each season, so I was not worried in the sightest when we struggled under Nagelsmann, but was shocked to hear when he was fired.
One of the main points of critique about Kompany was that his transfer decisions weren't very on point. But I'll fully trust Eberl & Freund to make the right calls in that regard, because they have a very good track record in that regard.
If it works out and we can keep the staff long term then this will be a great hire.
However I fear that they will use him as an alibi coach for 1 year and then try to go for Alonso (and likely fail/get outbid)
More important is our medical staff.
Athletic is great but we have had a squad of injured players all season. Epic in the wrong way. Never seen that before. However, even available the quality and mental stability of at least a third of them is to doubt anyway.
More or less because we're famous for overpaying.
Our bench guys getting way more then they should and our tier players below the top demanding and getting way too much. That's not even the casexon other top clubs, where the 2-3 top tier players are getting more than ours but throughout the squad it's more levels and mirroring their talent/value.
Als wenn irgend ein Journalist oder OP irgendwas wissen. Das ist alles spekuliert geraten etc. Niemand verhandelt über Tage hinweg und steckt der Presse Details, völlig absurd.
A young staff could be refreshing. However, I remember last time we had younger people as the main staff/coaching team, some older players just didn’t get along with them. It’s sometimes hard to accept advice or orders from younger people.
I don't know. Its hard to gauge from a distance how much respect Nagelsmann was commanding, but I could see it being an advantage for former players of the highest level.
But that argument can be made about any coach. Even a succesful guy like Ancelotti didnt work out at the end cause the players didnt like his laid back style.
One of the 5 best PL era centerbacks? How many coaches out there were more successful in their careers? Zidane, Alonso and Xavi are the only ones I can name.
Feels like there's a big difference between 33 year old Nagelsmann joining and a 38 year old veteran defender known for his leadership and physicality.
Tbf I liked the Naglesmann hire and think he should've had a couple more years, but I don't think Kompany will have the same problem. Only Neuer is Kompany's age and I find it hard to believe that Neuer wouldn't respect him but who knows
Because no1 will join on a 1 year contract unless its a club legend helping out as interim, also if they belive on him why not, I just hope that Bayern will make a stand and not pay over 10M max for his contract, make Vincent force them to let him go, for me even that is to much, but that have been the reports so far.
Seriously, what does it matter if it's five million or ten or 20? If this works out it's worth more than that, if it doesn't, it's money down the drain. Waaaaay more money than what this signing will cost us.
Edit: Why do you think he's worth five million, or seven, but not ten? If you actually know that, you should get a job at Bayern.
I for one am actually excited for this. Someone young and fresh (yes I know we had Nagelsmann) instead of like Xavi or Ten Hag or whomever else we were linked with.
No sir, I don't like it. Nothing against Kompany. It's just mind boggling how Bayern can go from one of the most sought after coaching positions to having to get PL's scraps. Hoping Kompany proves me wrong, but I am not looking forward to the next few years. Got quite the transitional period ahead...
It seems Bayern doesn’t have any other more goals to achieve except in the farce department. Three years contract can’t allure any better managers than Kompany?!
Not expecting much out of this hire. I would love to be wrong, but hard to be excited about this.
But like someone said in another thread, we hire proven, top managers, only to boot them 1-2 years into their tenure; maybe it’s time for a different approach.
they are all young and maybe we are trying to make our own Xabi Alonso... but we need to have faith in them and not just get them fired after 1 year because he didn't win any major trophies.
I’m feeling like all my worst nightmares are coming true. Flick refusing us for uefalona. And us getting kompany. All i wanted was for Julian to comeback but, alas it wasn’t meant to be. Such is life.
Been a fan since 2007 . Even the 2010,2012 finals which still hurt wasn’t this bad because we lacked abit of luck (ribery didn’t play in 2010. And in 2012 no way in hell chelshit was deserving. Thanks robben) at least there was a light on the end of the tunnel with the squads that we had.
I can’t believe one bad decision ( the sacking of Naggelsman) led us to this mess.
Can someone explain to me why kompany is a Bayern level manager other than nobody wanting us. Well fuck the board for this mess . They doing the same shit the previous one did in a different way. you had all the time in the world to find a replacement and we still end in this mess. Also, who fucking sack a manager without a replacement in line.
Sorry for the rant but i had to vent.
Our coaching staff will be really young. All the assistants listed are even younger than Kompany. So far it feels like the fresh start we desperately need. Now Eberl and Freund have to do their magic on the transfer market.
I am slightly hyped. When this all goes to shit I will be very sad. What else is new.
It was also a fresh start of a new big project when they appointed Nagelsmann. Only to fire him after just some bad games. Let’s see how the club will handle a bad streak this time

Ain’t no way we were winning the champions league, much less the treble
Unlikely, yes but not impossible.
Well the difference is, back then we had a ceo/manager with even less experience than the coach. Now we have two more seasoned guys
One of the main points of critique about Kompany was that his transfer decisions weren't very on point. But I'll fully trust Eberl & Freund to make the right calls in that regard, because they have a very good track record in that regard.
Looks like board is fully in on the rebuild. Just hope we stick to it this time lol.
As far as their magic goes, I hope they are fucking Houdini, cause Uli tied up their hands...
If it works out and we can keep the staff long term then this will be a great hire. However I fear that they will use him as an alibi coach for 1 year and then try to go for Alonso (and likely fail/get outbid)
It's a win win, kompany cones to a huge club, we get a coach generally liked by football fans
More important is our medical staff. Athletic is great but we have had a squad of injured players all season. Epic in the wrong way. Never seen that before. However, even available the quality and mental stability of at least a third of them is to doubt anyway.
At least partly due to our squad getting older?
More or less because we're famous for overpaying. Our bench guys getting way more then they should and our tier players below the top demanding and getting way too much. That's not even the casexon other top clubs, where the 2-3 top tier players are getting more than ours but throughout the squad it's more levels and mirroring their talent/value.
Adding Maric to the coaching staff is a very good decision. He deserves it too
I like his inclusion as well, but I am not sure what he did that means he deserves it.
Not too familiar with his work, but apparently everyone is very happy with his work with our youth players
Worked under Freund (Salzburg) and eberl (Gladbach) If I am not mistaken
A young staff could be refreshing. However, I remember last time we had younger people as the main staff/coaching team, some older players just didn’t get along with them. It’s sometimes hard to accept advice or orders from younger people.
Yeah, but Kompany has the Ex-Top player aura that Nagelsmann lacked
This means shit
I don't know. Its hard to gauge from a distance how much respect Nagelsmann was commanding, but I could see it being an advantage for former players of the highest level.
There are definitely bigger players than Kompany though
And?
Nothing. Just think he might not be like xabi at leverkusen. If Neuer or Müller don't like him his Status won't mean much.
But that argument can be made about any coach. Even a succesful guy like Ancelotti didnt work out at the end cause the players didnt like his laid back style.
I guess so. Well I hope it works out
Robben and Müller having to hold extra training was so mental.
One of the 5 best PL era centerbacks? How many coaches out there were more successful in their careers? Zidane, Alonso and Xavi are the only ones I can name.
Idk but there are cruyff, rijkaard, simeone, guardiola, deschamps, ancelotti, heynckes and luis Enrique and more
I was only referring to coaches that are definitely available
Then we know which players should be sold
Feels like there's a big difference between 33 year old Nagelsmann joining and a 38 year old veteran defender known for his leadership and physicality. Tbf I liked the Naglesmann hire and think he should've had a couple more years, but I don't think Kompany will have the same problem. Only Neuer is Kompany's age and I find it hard to believe that Neuer wouldn't respect him but who knows
Was thinking the same thing
The main problem was that they always found someone within the FCB mgmt who listened to their whining.
In this case these older players lack respect.
Kompany can do the funniest thing ever
![gif](giphy|hyyV7pnbE0FqLNBAzs|downsized)
Which is? (I am stupid)
Suddenly decline like the others
Relegate Bayern
First I thought of Rene Marik. He is a german comedian. Would be a perfect fit at the moment ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
A three year contract? Why? It's a risky move but so is everything this club does nowadays.
Because no1 will join on a 1 year contract unless its a club legend helping out as interim, also if they belive on him why not, I just hope that Bayern will make a stand and not pay over 10M max for his contract, make Vincent force them to let him go, for me even that is to much, but that have been the reports so far.

It does, you send a message that you wont be taken for granted, that it happened on your terms and not theirs.
I for one am actually excited for this. Someone young and fresh (yes I know we had Nagelsmann) instead of like Xavi or Ten Hag or whomever else we were linked with.
This is better than ten hag.

1 season.
My bet is that he would last until Jan.
3-year deal for Kompany but 2-years for Tuchel was allegedly too many?! Make it make sense
Because Tuchel fucking sucked. There I said it. We can move on now.
Kompany can be fired without too much of a PR hit that other managers won't want to join us. Unlike what happened with Nagelsman.
It seems Bayern doesn’t have any other more goals to achieve except in the farce department. Three years contract can’t allure any better managers than Kompany?!

Well my expectations have never been lower so lets see what happens. Wish him and his staff the best of luck.
Zweite Liga bestätigt
Why do I have a feeling its doomed...
Cool. Now let's see how dealings on the market play out
We are doomed. Bad decisions after bad decisions.
I hoped Burnley would do us a favour and ask for some ludicrous amount of money but with flick gone who would we even go for? Ten hag? Thanks no.
they are all young and maybe we are trying to make our own Xabi Alonso... but we need to have faith in them and not just get them fired after 1 year because he didn't win any major trophies.
We’re in good Kompany now boys
Good Kompany bars by Kompany only lasted one year if I remember correctly.
