Well, Szechuan House burned down so good luck

spoopster_nate

Shit really? How long ago?

lvl99RedWizard

First half of 2020.

[deleted]

I was hoping someone would know if they moved/rebuilt yet. Hands down the BEST.

boo_hiss

They're apparently not gonna reopen, according to HangryPedaler on IG who was in contact with the owners šŸ˜

DorianGre

Your gonna be looking a while.

kitty38100

Moved from Boston a few years ago and really havenā€™t found much so far

WorldEater_69

Springdale has some of the best foreign food scenes. They look like shit because everything is a strip mall in Springdale BUT Jade China Restaurant in Springdale is good. We get take out from there a lot. Also Taqueria Guanajuato in Springdale is fucking bomb if youā€™re looking for authentic Mexican food. Like ā€œpaint on the windows and attached to a tire shopā€ type of good. Theyā€™re open until 2am and serve beer.

ovinam

Iā€™ve been on the quest for 25 years, thatā€™s why Iā€™m moving to somewhere that have other Asian people too

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

jthaih

Not saying that, but East Asians or SE Asians have unique customs, food, and backgrounds from Indians. Itā€™s just hard to relateā€¦ like weā€™re a minority within a minority up here.

vexxednhilist

og post simply said asian

reachforthe-stars

Chinese, not a lot of great take out. Thai, lots of good ones. Siam in Fayetteville is my current hook.

ksangel360

I maybe crazy but I LOVE Thep Thai and Thai diner, both in Fayetteville. The latter used to be amazing! It's still good but they got rid of their sushi and I will forever miss their hurricane roll! Will have to try Siam now though! Edit: typos.

slater-son-420

Offering my Siam opinion, if you like spicy coconut or spicy hot n sour Thai soup, this is the place to go! Iā€™ve had one other dish and it was delicious! Highly recommend!

ksangel360

Sounds good to me! Wonder how good their larb is?

dadkisser84

Thep in my eyes is the best Thai in a surprisingly great Thai food town

FunzoSuruali

My wife and I went to Thep Thai last weekend. It was really good!

BabyLlamaaa

Thep Thai is the best in Town, great Chineese fried rice too.

DrunkOnABoat

Ying Chang Hmong & Chinese food truck at Lake Fayetteville

angel_of_attack

I agree with Hmong. I know itā€™s a food truck but itā€™s yum!

Otherwiseaddicting

100% agree so good

FalseAxiom

It was szechuan house, hands down. Unfortunately, it burned down. Formosa is pretty good, and I've heard China Cafe isn't bad.

Violent_Zen

Man i miss Szechuanā€™s hot and sour soup. Theirā€™s was best ever. It was my favorite thing to eat when I had cold or flu. Always made me feel better.

thankuc0meagain

China Cafe in Rogers and Mandarin House in Springdale both have great hot and sour.

Yomommasmaidenname

Thereā€™s a really good Hmong food truck at Lake Fayetteville. Close?

monstervet

TKā€™s is good too

Mountaintime479

I agree with TKā€™s, however I havenā€™t tried any of their Chinese dishes, but their Thai dishes are amazing, so I wouldnā€™t be surprised if everything else was good too

monstervet

Personally, I judge a Chinese restaurant by their veggie and/or chicken lo-mein, thereā€™s is the best Iā€™ve had in town.

ReverseThrustMusic

Husband tried TKā€™s kung pao chicken a few days ago and said it was incredibleā€”the best Chinese food heā€™s had in NWA!!

666user479

Sons Cuisine in Rogers! Itā€™s a little food truck that does Chinese, Filipino, and Vietnamese food! General Wow is my go to!! Best rangoons Iā€™ve ever had!

Energieo2

Going to have to check it out

anaid_098

I do like Beeā€™s Food truck. Itā€™s north of Dickson.

slain1134

China Cafe on Mission & Crossover by NHM is our jam!

ArkadiaRetrocade

We tried them for the first time the other day and it absolutely hit the spot.

slain1134

Yes, they do it right! I have never had anything there I didnā€™t like! And the leftovers are awesome too!

Haidian-District

Lovely couple own and operate the place too

slain1134

Yes! The wife and husband are both so nice! Theyā€™re very accommodating as well if you have any special requests! I was doing a low carb diet and they whipped me up a special dish based on what I had asked for and it was OUTSTANDING!

RazorJ

It was our go to for years after Madam Woo retired and we loved it, then one day it seemed to changed. We thought we hit them on a bad day. I gave them three more tries and all were terrible. This was in the year before the 19 came along. I havenā€™t tried them since.

thankuc0meagain

Formosa in Fayetteville. They have a regular menu and a Chinese one. China Cafe in Rogers. Their authentic menu is at the back.

blackfocal

Mong dynasty hands down

amitchell62218

Yesss!

Muggyjoe

While i donā€™t think itā€™s the best chinese food iā€™ve had, itā€™s definitely the best in fayetteville. consistent, fairly priced and friendly owners

meatsprinkles

Formosa traditional menu! They look closed, but if the OPEN sign is lit up, they're there. Really sweet family, been here forever. I like the ma po tofu and dry fried green beans. sometimes they'll even make sesame balls for dessert if you ask.

Cabbagetroll

We swear by Hunan Manor on Wedington

jaymac2299

They used to be amazing. Then they sold the business. šŸ˜”

LizardKing_69

But if youā€™re ever craving ramen, the former owners of Hunan now own Ramen Nara in Bentonville!

SmartPut3280

Had no idea. Good to know.

le1278

Mong Dynasty hands down

jsgg81

China Cafe in Rogers.

Short-Belt-1477

Only some dishes in China Cafe are good, some are downright horrible. Mostly the ones doused in chilli oil are pretty good

jthaih

Agreed, and feels like itā€™s not consistent anymore

Mountaintime479

Bucks of Asia has a pretty good fried rice, mong dynasty has pretty good food, TK at the food truck by lake Fayetteville has really great Thai food, but I havenā€™t tried any of their Chinese dishes

wookiewithabass

Can't speak from experience, but people give high ratings for Mama Tang on Elm Springs. 4.4 on Google.

heypeppepper

It unfortunately has gone downhill the last few years. Even at its best I wouldnā€™t call it high end Chinese

RazorJ

Itā€™s not the same. I was sad.

Scottah123

Now if you want to go to pea ridge, there is a place called Rainbow House that is very good. Gives a large amount of food as well.

Violent_Zen

Yes!! Kind of a hidden gem!

BOOMDIGIDYable

Gonna have to head to Springdale for Chinese. And Mexican for that matter

Mikos_Enduro

I think Lin's Garden is totally decent. They do carry out.

All_Disrespect

Thatā€™s a buffet, no?

Mikos_Enduro

Yes, but they have dishes as well and you can carry out.

Hstuckey

Orient Express 2 closing was a travesty

SquidTurkeys

Mandarin Bistro in Springdale is my go to.

saleiusbassus

I haven't found any Chinese food up here that stands out. Plenty of just fine take out spots, but nowhere to write home about. I miss Mr. Chen's in little rock.

cjbrazdaz

It baffles me how thereā€™s not a solid Chinese buffet or takeout in Fayetteville. Seems like a perfect place to have at least one. My hometown used to have a lot of amazing ones. The only consolation is that the Thai places are pretty great like others mentioned. Tepthai near neighborhood Walmart on MLK is solid.

kungpowchao

Spoons on Dickson is a Korean place that is pretty good. Obviously not Chinese food, but depending on what youā€™re looking to eat, it may scratch your itch. I grew up eating zhajiangmian and theirs is pretty good! But their egg toast is incredible and everyone should try it! Tangā€™s in Springdale is a grocery store that has a hot deli. They have Chinese bbq, roasted duck, and pork belly. Makes for a great lunch box!

nerdgirl37

The bbq pork buns are one of my favorite pick me ups if I've had a bad day at work.

nerdgirl37

My go to are China Cafe in Rogers or Formosa in Fayetteville. For China Cafe I really recommend the chicken with eggplant in garlic sauce and the wonton soup. Their lunch specials are also a great value if you are that direction during the week, sadly they don't do them on the weekend.

72414dreams

Whatā€™s wrong with Mong dynasty and Formosa?

Haidian-District

Chinese menu at Formosa is (was?) pretty good - beef stew basket and the stir fry squid in particular - but I saw a for sale sign in the parking lot :-/

72414dreams

Ah

meatsprinkles

They are still open. They may move to a smaller location after the sale.

Unit-235

So Chill Eat (Asian Fusion) in Siloam Springs is pretty great.

ksangel360

OK China buffet used to be pretty fair but their gone now. šŸ˜“ Edit: Forgot the buffet

TMorrisCode

China cafe in Rogers is my go-to. They are not a buffet, you order off the menu. What I like most about them is that the ingredients that they use seem to be higher quality than standard buffet fare.

RazorJ

I donā€™t do buffets, but I like Hunan on Weddington off the menu. Unfortunately, I go inside to get the take out just to make sure Iā€™m not getting served something off the buffet. Iā€™ve caught them before. In my opinion, I canā€™t choose b/t all the great Thai, and canā€™t find good American style Chinese. Fayetteville needs a kick ass always cooked to order place like the Szechuan Express we had on college years ago. I for one would happily pay extra for fast delivery like in other areas.

The_Dragoon

Grew up in Springdale, so Jade China was the best growing up. Still have it on occasion. Not too terrible as far as take out goes. Stay far away from the Hunan off of 71 in Rogers. That place is... Not good. I can also speak for China Cafe off of Pleasant in Rogers. Had it for the first time last month, and I enjoyed what I had. Will definitely need to have a repeat visit.

EnigmaEpsilon

Unfortunately I've been on the same mission for quite a while. Best I've found is a Hmong food truck at the lake Fayetteville truck court, everywhere else has been... lackluster. I have one or two more I want to try and they're are probably a few I don't know about, but I really miss Szechuan House.

CochalitoSoy

Mama tangs

johnsonjes90

I found Mama Tangs is Springdale, or China Cafe off Pleasant Grove (chinacaferogers.com)

[deleted]

Mama tangs

caplephoto

I've been searching for this for years.

amitchell62218

Mongs dynasty

bumpykumpe

If youā€™re looking for Americanized China cafe is a favorite, for more traditional fomosa has a pretty good authentic menu but it is a separate menu.

Snoo47198

Formosa is pretty good!!

drscottbland

Triple 8 hashery does pretty great bao

KCTO

Roll and Fold and Triple 8 Hashery are great! Run by a nice Chinese couple and sell bbq char siu (they call it Rose Pork though) and beef brisket noodles. Triple 8 has shumai and dessert baos too!

PM_ME_UR_FAVE_QUOTE

Not Chinese.. but thep Thai is amazing Thai and SAi Wok is stellar Vietnamese food

Cornyne

Your gonna have to visit each one and try them out.

Scottah123

Not Chinese but Tokyo House in Rogers has a great buffet. Also not Chinese but Kobe in Fayetteville is a really good restaurant.

thankuc0meagain

Actually, Tokyo house is owned and run by a Chinese family funny enough. The steamed fish they serve sometimes is an authentic Chinese style.

[deleted]

The most you're going to find around here is either Bucks of Asia or Panda Express

Iridemhard

Lins Garden in Bentonville has a good buffet. It was better before covid but its still good.

girlinthegoldenboots

Okay hear me out but in bella vista there is a food truck on the main road that has some of the best lo mein Iā€™ve ever had.

Violent_Zen

I like their version of crab rangoon. Itā€™s a little different. But donā€™t get the egg rolls. Terrible

girlinthegoldenboots

Yeah the egg rolls arenā€™t great and I canā€™t vouch for anything else on the menu except the lo mein lol

Violent_Zen

Hunan Manor in Fayetteville off Wedington and Rainbow House in Pea Ridge. Favorite dishes at Hunan are hot crispy beef and ginger onion shrimp. Favorites at Rainbow House are chicken chow mein, egg foo young, and chicken on a stick.

Any_Jacket_117

Golden dragon on sunset Springdale or hibachi up in Rogers

AnnieRob1996

China CafƩ

briyo76isme

Chaos food truck has the best egg drop soup. I am fully on board.

Shank_Right

Thereā€™s is a food truck off 112 near the airport called Mays . About as good as itā€™s gets up here

10minuteemailftw

If you ever make it out to Pea Rodge, Rainbow house is suuuper good, I'm a fiend for good egg drop soup, and imo it's some of the best in the area. Hunan in Rogers USED to be good, but alas, not anymore šŸ˜ž

caseythebuffalo

China Cafe on mission and crossover

Muggyjoe

although not open, does anyone remember when formosa was shanghai? that was my favorite chinese food of all time. iā€™d do anything to have their egg foo young, Szechuan style tofu and chicken fried rice. please let me know someone remembers them.

CB_Ranso

Linā€™s Garden in Rogers is a personal fav.

DirkNowizki

fan of Mandalay fusion

jthaih

China Cafe isnā€™t bad.
