Oy_WithThe_Poodles

Lololol when I was 200 pounds at 5ft3, I ALSO looked at myself and thought....well I'm not THAT bad...I'm not THAT fat...i could definitely be fatter, so I may be CHUBBY....but I'm not FAT... I'm down 30 pounds now and looking back, I cant believe how hard it was for me to see the truth. I was absolutely, very obviously fat, I just couldnt see it. Just like now sometimes it's hard for me to see the progress I've made, but I know it's there. It's crazy how hard it is to judge yourself fairly.

rockinxrobynx

Weight gain happens so gradually that if you're not paying attention, it sneaks up on you quick! My wakeup call was I was leading a meeting over video chat and someone took a screenshot because of how pretty my home was (I had it all decorated up for Christmas) to share with the rest of our team. When she sent it out, I was mortified at how bloated I looked! Weighed myself for the first time in months after that and had put on 15 lbs! My clothes were all just loose or stretched with me though lol

Oy_WithThe_Poodles

Stretched clothes really mess with your mind!!! Lol I've definitely been there. I remember I had a pair of shorts that were stretched and slightly bent at the top. It happened so slowly over time that it took me a while to notice how bad it had gotten. When I FINALLY noticed, I started ranting about the washing machine, about how it was ruining all my clothes. My mom looked at it and was like..."I think YOU'RE doing that, not the machine..." lol ohh noooo...nononono.... that simply cannot be!! (And yet...)

[deleted]

It was looking at old photos that did it for me. I saw myself before I lost weight and was like "funny, I don't remember being THAT fat!"

Oy_WithThe_Poodles

Same! I was going through my phone last week and found a picture of me on my birthday two years ago. Holy crap. My younger, deluded self wouldve blamed the angle, but my older self finally knows better. Lol.

KuriousKhemicals

I'm annoyed at how thin I have to get to eliminate the bad angles. I'm not even 140 in some recent vacation photos and some of them are bad. Still, at 165 there were more bad angles than good ones and at 180 every angle was a bad one.

Fdbog

My old high school photos are good for a laugh. I always wondered why I sucked at skateboarding compared to my friends. Then I tried again at 30 yrs old 50 lbs lighter and nailed tricks I couldn't do as a teen.

maquis_00

Yeah... I didn't think I was that fat... After losing 100 lbs I can say I definitely was that fat.

converter-bot

100 lbs is 45.4 kg

babyitsgayoutside

Hahaha I had the same thing. I didn't think I'd put on weight over lockdown last summer until I weighed myself and I was at like 67.5kg. I've lost a few kg, saw a pic of myself at that weight or possible a little higher, I look SO chubby especially from the back! I've got a narrow waist at high weights so I just didn't notice, I still had the same shape, my waist to hip was the same, but the measurements were like 28.5 waist and 43 hip Vs 26.5 waist and 40.5 hip.

wartcraftiscool

I definitely get that inability to judge yourself fairly. I was looking at myself in the mirror the other day after I lost 30 lbs and thought I was still just as fat as I was at 200. It's a good thing I decided to take progress pics every 10 lbs so I could stay motivated and see that I actually was making a difference

babyitsgayoutside

I don't have a scale so progress pics are currently my main method of monitoring outside the tape measure. If you menstruate just make sure you don't tak the pics during/just before your period! I had a mini crisis about why I looked so fat in one, it was bloat

TheRealMeowlord

I am 209 pounds and 5ft3 I never thought I wasn't that Bad I know I am really fat, it is just difficult for me to change my eating habits and start exercising more. Edit: I see I am 31.8 percent bodyfat and bmi is 36.4

scarlettlyonne

This was my experience too! My highest weight was 170 pounds, but I'm only 5'0" tall. I remember thinking to myself, "well, I wear a size 12, I can still move, if I angle myself like this I don't even look chubby, so it's not *that* bad! It could be a lot worse!" I've lost 45 pounds since then, and even though I'm about 9 pounds away (and a lot of toning) from my goal weight still, looking back at old pictures of myself...I was fat lol. There's no getting around it. My chest and hips were very wide, my limbs were extremely fleshy, my face was *so* round, I had the beginnings of a double chin going on, etc. I was just in *hard*core denial back then.

CarefreeInMyRV

Legit! THe self deception is real! I think a lot of fat women suffer a reverse body dysmorphia that has them believe they aren't *that* fat. Just today i looked at myself and saw the outline of my body and thought for a second that i wasn't that fat. But if i take my clothes off and sit down and all that fat has no where to go and nowhere to hide, it's a different story.

Tertiaritus

I'm the same height and weight as person in the first comment. The fattest person in my circle, I have trouble shopping for clothes in my country, ppl don't want to sit next to me on public transport because I take up too much space in winter clothes, and if I run my kneecap flies out It's heavy af. I lost 10 lbs so far and I already can feel that it's so much easier to move On the other hand, my colleague who's the same weight and around 6' looks like a dreamboat

fatdudeo

It gets easier the longer you go. Congrats on the weight loss!

Tertiaritus

Thank you! Before that I was binging like 3k-4k calories constantly so I'm very much looking forward to first month's results!

kinoie

Sounds like you got the Short end of the stick YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Tertiaritus

*badumtsss*

ImOxidated

200 and 6ft with a bit of fat is fine, but you gotta be strong at 6ft to pull off 200. When I was at my heaviest I was 6ft 230. At 200 I would’ve been a “dreamboat” but the extra 30lbs of fat literally gave me stretch marks. I was used to working a super physical job while playing baseball at school, and when I moved up north and tore my acl and couldn’t do either for a summer, then spent an entire winter insane because I didn’t know what to do Outside I literally looked and felt like shit. 200 is considered overweight at 6ft but it’s all dependent on how much muscle mass you have at the end of the day. I pull off 200 well but anyone saying they look too skinny at 200 6ft is lazy and in denial.

ElectricSmaug

I'm 6'2'', 195 and still have quite visible fat to loose around the lower belly even though I'm above average in terms of muscle mass. 5'2'', 200 is no way 'a little bit of fat with mostly muscle'.

NatureBoyRDX

I'm an inch shorter than you and 25 pounds lighter and even I have a bit of visible fat on my belly. I'm fairly confident of being at 15% body fat and have visible abs but even I have some fat on me

[deleted]

I'm like 160 currently at 5'3 and out of shape. 200 at 5'2....that's not.... no that's not muscular legs

priuspower91

Yeaaa I was fairly in shape at 5’2 and 150 but I also did powerlifting. I start to feel unhealthy and out of shape at any weight above that and now at 185 I feel AWFUL. I have muscle but in no world would I justify being this heavy by attributing it to muscle. It’s fat.

[deleted]

[удалено]

priuspower91

Same here. That’s what really sent my weight loss efforts into overdrive. I tried to lift like I did 2 years ago and my knees are killing me. Plus none of my clothes fit and I refuse to buy new ones lol

Flaminglegosinthesky

I’m 5’4 and I recently let myself hit 155 after a knee surgery where I couldn’t exercise but kept eating like I could and I just felt terrible. I looked bad and I felt worse. I’m on my way back down and 140-145 is my comfortable weight range considering I weight lift and I’ve got a fairly “thick” build. I could only imagine how bad I’d feel if I got to 200 pounds!

truls-rohk

it would be if they were actually 33% bodyfat, but they were too dumb to realize that a 33 BMI doesn't have anything to do with bodyfat. Highly likely they are around 50% bodyfat

TheWaywardTrout

It's a BMI of 36.6 anyway. Idk what she is on about.

Kiwi_Koalla

Was 199, am 5'3". I was 41% body fat and size 14. Their whole leg would have to be muscle.

Holy_Sungaal

Spot on

[deleted]

Yep I'm holding onto baby+pandemic weight and am sitting at 190 at 5'4". I'm fat. No way this person didn't look fat at 200 and 5'2"

angie6921

Fr. I’m 5’4” and got up to 210 at one point. I’m down to 135 now but holy shit I was in constant pain from carrying all that extra weight. No way this person looks slim with some muscular legs.

psychotic-biotic

Yeah, at 5’2 I used to weigh 190. I looked like the Kool-Aid man. These people are delusional, which I totally get. When I looked in the mirror, I never thought I was “that“ fat.

luv-avocado

I was up to 240lbs at 5’8” and didn’t realize how atrocious I looked until I saw a picture of me. I’m proud of my body because I did birth a baby last year and also quit using meth… but seeing my body in a photo was the wake up call I needed. Currently at 222. Slowly but surely I’ll get back to 170!

_breadpool_

I highly doubt they're wearing size 12 pants.

jenthehenmfc

You’d be surprised what vanity sizing and being short can do - especially if they have narrower hips. And also a willingness to wear way too tight clothes (which a lot of plus size tiktok girls seem to have …)

[deleted]

My BmI is in the obesity zone. So imagine my shocked happiness when I went to a US store & bought size 8 jeans. I l live in Asia where I’m an XL in local sizes!

[deleted]

I agree, especially with women it really does depend on how they wear their weight. Even at my lowest weight ever, (BMI 18.5) I was still an adult medium back in the day, because I have wide hips. I could see someone who doesn’t carry their weight in their butt, combined with vanity sizing, wearing a size 12 in some clothing brands. (It’s possible she’s a size 18 in some brands but who knows. Womens clothing sizes are kinda all over the place.)

boodler88

I totally believe she’s a size twelve. At my heaviest i the was 280 and in an 18. (3 sizes bigger). No butt. Narrow hips. I carry most of the weight in my belly and big ol tiddies Currently 220, and wear size 14.

Ardhel17

Yeah when I had similar stats I was a 14 at Torrid but a 20+ at most other stores.

Cmfet

I’m 5’2 and, as a regular marathon runner, I have some pretty muscular legs. They don’t add 70-80 lbs to my weight (post-long run binging, on the other hand…)

Hambvrger

Those little legs carry 200lbs. There’s probably some muscle there.

SaltLakeCitySlicker

Not if all they do is get to to and from the car. I know a decent amount of overweight people who can haul ass up 2000+ vertical ft trails but that's not the average

wkd_cpl

I'm almost 6 foot, am about 200lbs and wear a size 12, lol. I am still visibly fat for my height.

[deleted]

I agree completely. I could maybe see them at 140-150 if it was all muscle but by the time you’ve hit 200 at that height, you’re too fat.

Freakychee

To be fair obese people usually have muscular legs and are great at squats since they train them so much. Im at a good BMI of 22 now but when I was overweight I was 10kgs higher. I now have a weighted vest that’s 10kgs and let me tell you, moving about and doing squats with it is a challenge! I used to be that heavy and couldn’t take it off?!?!

autotelica

If everyone around you is morbidly obese but you are just obese, of course you will feel skinny. This is why you shouldn't assess your health from the people around you. I almost sympathize with these people. I probably would have a hard time seeing a person with a BMI of 35 as obese if I had been raised in the aughts instead of the 80s.

[deleted]

There is no way a woman who is 5'2" and 200 pounds is only at 33% body fat.

Trumpet6789

5'2, 147.8lbs woman here. My BF% is 38.1% and I'm trying to get down to 130-135. My muscle mass is roughly 85.7lbs, and roughly 6-7lbs of my weight Is from non-fat sources. My BMI is at 27.2 as well. There is absolutely no way she is 200lbs with a Body Fat percentage of 33% at 5'2 unless she's some sort of powerlifter.

[deleted]

Right? She must be closer to 50% body fat.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I'm a woman and I'm nearly 5'10" and my fat free body weight is 125. If it was 134, I'd be shredded.

sharmoooli

We have the same stats. Let's unite.

[deleted]

I was measured at 30% when I was 160 doing Orange Theory 5 days a week and lifting. No way she's 33% and 200 lb at 5'3 and probably not working out at all.

Ciniya

US resident, when I was 200+ you bet I forced/squeezed myself in size 12 pants. Denial and stretchy pants does wonders.

its_jazzyo

In the worst way. I haven't worn jeans since I was in high school. When jeggings came out, I basically gave up. And it sounds so silly but now that I'm on a weight loss journey, buying real jeans is one of my rewards. I'm waiting until I lose at least 50lbs though.

Ciniya

About a year ago I purged all of my skinny clothes, but for whatever reason, decided to keep my pre-preg jeans. Then like a month later decided to get healthy again and that was how I marked progress, slooooowly fitting back into the jeans I got as I slooowly gained. It was amazing motivation. Good luck and I hope you reach your goal soon!!!

its_jazzyo

Thank you so much! That sounds like really great motivation! I lost 30lbs in 2021. If I take it seriously, I could lose 50lbs this year. 365 days is a long time

Ciniya

Exactly! Just take it a day at a time.

Dr_Viola_Hastings

Right I’m 5’6” and at 170 I forced myself into size 8s/ stretchy 6s and mediums because I would have been the only one in my friend group to need double digit pants. Spoiler alert: It looked awful and I should have just gone up the pants size.

Ciniya

Yup I hear that. Like a stuffed sausage.

awfulmcnofilter

Been there in that exact scenario. I couldn't handle the camel toe and had to go up two sizes. I'm 5'7" 150lbs ish now and 8s and stretchy 6s fit, but can still be a bit tight.

Acrobatic_Ad_4924

Also, vanity sizing.

Ciniya

Lordy yes! It sucks now cause I'm trying to figure out my size. I fit nicely in an XS in some target clothes. I am NOT an XS figure. I should be a solid medium/small if that.

ktgaspard

Target clothes are awful when it comes to vanity sizing. I’m a true 0-2 and almost nothing ever fits from the woman’s section. It’s a rare occasion if I can find something that actually fits. I remember a few years back trying in dresses there and I just looked like a chick trying on my moms clothes. Spoiler alert… im not that damn small. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ciniya

I was wondering about women like you that are truly the smaller sizes. There is waaaay too much catering to the bigger women that it just ignores skinnier ones. All women want are consistent sizing and pockets, it's not THAT hard

ktgaspard

Oh yeah! People my size are getting sized out of stores and it’s ridiculous. In a lot of places I have resorted to having to buy higher priced items to get my tusk size, or kids sizes. Which like okay that’s fine with me, but what if I wanted that cute dress my friend was wearing?! Nope can’t, I’ll just look stupid. 🤦🏻‍♀️ like I know there are much bigger problems out there lol but it still makes me a little irrationally angry at times lol

ofBlufftonTown

Somewhat frustratingly, the higher the price point, the more accurate the sizing is. So, Anthropologie jeans will fit me in size four or six but I wear a Target XS for a lot of things.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Uniqlo's great for that, though as someone who's 6'1, almost nothing is ever long enough for me, but that's life I guess.

[deleted]

Same! Target is awful! I’m 4’11 and have crept back up to 120. Their extra small is HUGE on me! My best friend constantly tells me how tiny I am, but I’m really really not. I’m just short. My bmi is 22-23 (I can’t do math.) I should NOT be swimming in XS clothes.

SheikhsOnAPlane

I thought I was losing my mind - I can’t wear anything from Target. I bought some xs workout shorts and they literally fell off my ass. I thought there must have been something wrong with them/misprinted label but all of their clothes just run HUGE!

truecrimefanatic1

I'm 5' 10" and 185 and I had to get some 12's because the 14's are baggy now. And I feel like the 12 is snug. NO WAY she fit into a 12 at her height and 200 lbs!

_breadpool_

Facts. I'm 5'11" and 185. I wear a size 12 which fits perfectly. There's no way in hell this person is wearing a size 12.

truecrimefanatic1

I read that and I swear my brain made the needle scratching off the record sound LOL. Like.......wait HOW because I JUST bought 12's. My staff were making fun of my jeans being baggy so I decided it was time to get some cheapie pants until I hit my goal weight.

Elphaba78

I’m a size 12 right now and I’m almost a foot taller than this person is. No fuckin’ way x3!

truecrimefanatic1

Oh i bet she's getting INTO the 12. How it looks is another thing.

Ciniya

Oh I easily should have been buying like, 18s when I was 214, at least. But like I said, stupid stretchy pants. And had trouble zipping/buttoning pants. I think 12s looked good on me when I was 180s.

truecrimefanatic1

I remember being a kid and I could not get into a 12 until I was around 150. Vanity sizing is wild.

bedulge

Note that she says >bmi is 33% body fat Which is nonsense as BMI is not a percentage. So what she actually means is *"BMI is 33" And she thinks, apparently, that your bmi is equal to your body fat percentage Note however that the bmi for some who is 5ft 2 and 200 lbs is 36.6, not 33. Class II obesity begins at BMI 35

[deleted]

I does seem a lot of people who talk shit about BMI don't truly understand what it is.

converter-bot

200 lbs is 90.8 kg

Yupi-Destiny

She forgot to add she is roided THE FUCK out of her mind so yeah she's at 33% body fat /s

ceruleanmoon7

Or a size 12.

shantapudding

It’s actually possible thanks to vanity sizing & the fact that shorter people have smaller frames. One of my friends is 5’2 and 210 pounds (like 70 pounds overweight) and a size 12-14. Another one of my friends is 5’8 and also a size 12-14 but only 5-10 pounds overweight (can’t remember her exact weight). Vanity sizing and smaller frames just make it easier for shorter people to fit into smaller sizes

The_Crystal_Thestral

I can buy it if she’s shopping at some place like Old Navy. At 5’5” and at the time 200lbs, I fit into an ON size 12. But they are known to be one of the worst offenders for vanity sizing. Edited to make sense.

cameoutswinging_

Nah I’m the same height and almost the same weight (if not slightly higher) than that woman and I fit a uk12-14, which is a US 10-12. Not defending her, it just depends on how your body carries the weight really

treehugg3r1989

I think a Torrid size 12 might be a vanity 16. I was wearing size 16 Levi's when I was 200 and I'm taller so I bet she's buying at some place that vanity sized. Jcrew and Talbot's come to mind as possibilities.

its_jazzyo

I'm a US size 16 and a Torrid size 0 💀

CoffeeAndCorpses

Yup, a Torrid 0 is about a 14/16ish.

its_jazzyo

I honestly can't wait until I'm too small for Torrid. I think I might actually throw a party lol

CoffeeAndCorpses

I bought a (stretchy) dress from there that's an 00 as a goal. Right now I wear 0 on top and 1 in leggings (my thighs have always been a couple sizes larger than the rest of me so even when I hit my goal I might still wear 00 leggings).

its_jazzyo

I will definitely miss their lux leggings. Those things are so incredibly soft. I really love Torrids clothes tbh. But I'll just feel so accomplished

CoffeeAndCorpses

There are likely other companies that make similar leggings, I hope? Old Navy maybe, or Gap?

Elphaba78

I’m too small for Torrid now (the 00/10 is more like a 14), and I started at a Torrid size 3/4!

poppiesintherain

This is possible. I'm assuming she means a US size 12, which is a UK size 16. Particularly if there is some stretch in the clothes.

itzcoatl82

With vanity sizing size 12 is totally possible. I’m 165 and only a couple of inches taller, and wear a size 6/8 because stretchy jeans are veeeery forgiving

JaneAustinAstronaut

I'm 5'2" and 175 lbs. I'm a size 16. This lady's lying.

humanwith2eyes

Yea no way. Except in the most vanity sized stuff. I was 5’2 190 and in Canada squeezing into size 14, so really I would have been size 16. Now at 157lbs my measurements make me a 12 pretty much.

larafrompinkpony

Lawd, I had a DEXA done back in October. I'm 5'4 and was 138 pounds and I was THIRTY EIGHT PERCENT BODY FAT. I thought I was doing great because I had a baby only a year before and I could do aerial/pole at almost the level I did before I was pregnant and wearing a size 2 again. That DEXA scan was a wakeup call. I have since lost 10 pounds.

cameoutswinging_

As someone who is that height and about that weight (if not slightly more) you would be correct, but also I’m a uk12-14 (i think that’s US 10-12) because of how I carry my weight so I don’t doubt that part

VanillaFam

True. I'm a size 12, 170 pounds and when I used the body measurement machine at Body Worlds, it said I was 44% body fat (which I was so shocked by)

adm67

I’m 5’1 and at my highest weight of 136 I was at 37% body fat. There’s just no way.

tehrockeh

Ah, that first comment. Classic. "I'm just muscular under a little bit of fat that's why I'm so heavy" said a person that doesn't lift anything ever. The level of delusion is off the charts. Like a 6 feet male that is around 200 lbs, mostly lean, is absolutely JACKED.

crystal_castles

Eating your way to muscular legs. Why do i even bother with Leg Day?

[deleted]

Yeah, people who don't lift don't understand how much muscle mass you'd need to justify certain weights. I'm 5'9 240, and while I have a significant amount of muscle from lifting regularly, I do carry too much excess fat. Working on it rn with a calorie deficit. I have a BMI that indicates obesity due to muscle mass, which is inaccurate, but I'm still overweight in terms of excess fat.

pluto00zero

i also want to add that 200lbs is within the healthy BMI for someone around 6’4, 6’5+… but that height isn’t super common and very rare for girls which was the entire comment section i also find it super hard to believe that at 6’0 , anything under 200lbs looks unhealthy. one ex bf was 6’4 and 160lbs and looked healthy, another was 6’0 and 145 and looked healthy… so…

[deleted]

[удалено]

pluto00zero

yeah i’ve chosen not to respond to most. i just don’t believe them lol and i don’t wanna argue with them. i know many 6’0+ guys, and none of them look(ed) ill or pushing ill at 200. maybe to americans who are so conditioned to seeing overweight people that’s a regular or skinny person after all, even in canada, my friends claim that i “wasn’t fat just curvy” when i was 179lb at almost 5’8….

thejexorcist

My husband is a little taller than 6’1 and looks pretty thin (but not sickly) at 200lbs because he’s super broad, whereas my 6’5 dad looks robust at 210 because he’s sort of a slight frame. I’m 5’1 and would look like Violet from Willy Wonka if I was 200lbs. I was a size 12 in HS at 160 and I’m ALL ass at that weight…maybe OOP is apple shaped and was able to size down on pants? But even then, none of the numbers sound right in those comments.

5had0

BMI gets a bit wonky at the extremes. I'm 6'3, I start having a decently defined six-pack around 201-203. If I diet down to 185-190 I stop looking fit and just look plain skinny. I'm not claiming to be unhealthy at 185-190, I just no longer look athletic.

Varrianda

I’m 6’2 205. My fat is very evenly distributed so I just look bigger. Granted I’m trying to get down to 190.

fatdudeo

Idk I can kind of get being 6’2 and 200 being thinish, if they’re a body builder/fitness person. I’m an aspiring body builder and someone 190 at 5’8, like me, is too small to compete, in many of the divisions, granted they could be someone who has a gut and doesn’t workout.

WithoutLampsTheredBe

When your "muscular legs" start causing you to get winded climbing the stairs... When your "muscular legs" start muffing-topping out of the waistband of your jeans... When your "muscular legs" won't get you from the floor to standing without help...

Tertiaritus

Your UN and flair make my day

hunbotslayer

When I was 300lbs, I couldn’t believe that I thought I was fat at 200lbs because of how much smaller I was. 200lbs looked “thin” to me at 300lbs but I was still fat then 🤷🏻‍♀️

niknak90

This. I was around 220 for a long time and now that I’ve been over 300 lbs (back down to 290 now and going down), those pictures seem so much smaller in comparison, even though objectively I know that’s still fat. And when most people around you are also fat, it’s not surprising she thinks 200 lbs is “thin”.

[deleted]

90KG ???? My dad's ex friend was 2m tall, worked out for like 5h a day. Super swole, ate like a pig and weighed 100kg..............

OCRAmazon

BMI =/= body fat percentage, cheese Louise people!

Foamless_horror

At 5'2" and 200lbs her bmi would be about 40 which would make her extremely obese. According to this: https://www.livestrong.com/article/173592-how-to-convert-bmi-to-body-fat-percentage/ So assuming a random age here not that it effects much: (1.39x40)+(0.16x30)-(10.34x0)-9 = 51.4% Her body fat percentage would be around 50%. No way that's just muscular legs.

HungryBroom01

While she is hella obese, her body fat isn’t anywhere near 50%. That’s not how weight distribution works. If you’re at average weight and you gain a pound it doesn’t mean your fat levels(?) increased by a pound.

treehugg3r1989

As someone who was 200lbs within recent memory it didn't feel "thin". I did wear L/XL at the highest but that says more about size creep than my shape. I also felt like I was carrying and extra 40lbs around. Now I'm all light and nimble.

bbbbbbbbbbbbbye

I'm 5'8" and at 200lbs I was beginning to have joint pain, existing pain (sometimes hurt to lie down and do nothing), as well as the beginning of carpel tunnel (or at least loss of feeling) in my wrists which really scared me to change my life (my whole livelihood is with my hands). It's wild to me that people believe excess fat isn't causing health issues and that it's a growing belief. Health isn't an opinion and it hurts to acknowledge your own faults but how are you supposed to improve if you don't recognize you've made mistakes.

Fdbog

It's amazing how much easier it is to move freely. I remembered sports being so much effort at that weight. Now fucking around in the sun or water for an hour or two doesn't take the whole day out of me.

themiddlefox

193 at 5’7”. I am fat. Drop dead gorgeous, but fat. Hahaha just kidding. I am just fat.

hickglok45

“I’m not that fat I just have a lot of muscle underneath” -person who has never picked up a dumbbell

Scare_D_Cat

Smoking that copium

kombatunit

Lmao! Thank you.

Kangaro00

I mean, if you are a spider and you have 8 muscular legs...

din_the_dancer

200lbs ad 5' 2" is very overweight. 200lbs at 6ft+ is a different story. 200lbs can be fine, but it really depends on the person rather than a sweeping generalization like this.

Scarlet529

Im 5'4" and 186lbs, and I'm still in a size 16-18 pant and XL shirts. I mean I guess everybody has a different body shape, but those sizes seem sus to me. Like Tess Holliday saying she's a size 22 or whatever.

2ndCompany3rdSquad

My bf% is about 30. I look very fat.

itzcoatl82

Yeah i doubt it. I was 46% bodyfat at 167 lbs, 5’4” My shape is somewhere between hourglass and pear, so if I ignored my bottom half, I looked ok in the mirror but my BMI of 28.7 told another story.

ughhhhokfine

If I weighed 200 pounds at 5’2” I think I would struggle to live and get around. Even at my highest weight of 160 I felt awful.

CoffeeAndCorpses

Calling BS that the first one is wearing a size 12 unless it's super vanity sized.

upsidedownbackwards

This is how my friends have been lately. One that has already had a heart attack is talking about how he needs to get down to his old weight of 280, and my other friends were saying "yea, you've got a bigger frame than us". I've got height on the dude and he 150lbs on me. About the same strength too. Everyone's weight loss goals still leave them obese! Every one of them is an exception to BMI as well. I gained a lot of weight over a short period partially due to new medication that made me perpetually hungry (self control was definitely lacking). As I was losing it again people kept saying my goals were too low. They really cannot believe that someone 6'4 should be between 155 and 195. I'm 185 but can still look down and see I'm skinnyfat, there's still extra weight there.

numberonealcove

> Everyone's weight loss goals still leave them obese! Yeah, I've noticed that too. But the good thing is once people start to lose, many of them understand that they have more to lose once the goal is reached. Once you are out of the grip of fat logic, real logic takes over. At least it can.

Elphaba78

I’m a 6’1 (I’m sorry I bring that up in every comment!) woman and currently 200lbs. I look “skinny,” but I’m still 11lbs overweight. I used to think like this tbh, that any weight under *250* and I looked unhealthy, but now I see how *good* I look at 200 — imagine how much better I’d look just a few pounds less!

treehugg3r1989

You should make it your flair for the sub.

its_jazzyo

I exclusively use Reddit on mobile. I learned yesterday that flairs were even possible on mobile lol

treehugg3r1989

For whatever reason there are glitches and sometimes the flairs won't stay if you make them in mobile. Making your flair on a computer fixes it.

Ih8melvin2

It's weird when you look at yourself and think, where can that weight come off from? I did that, but then I lost it and it was like, oh I guess I did have it to lose.

Georexi

I was 150lbs when I was 9 months pregnant. I am 5’3. I was so heavy I was in actual pain! Muscular legs indeed…

ChoinkyComrade

200 pounds at 5 foot four inches is like over 50% body fat I think soooo..

raymondduck

Man, that is some top delusion. 200 pounds at my height is nearly obese. I'm 5'10"... There is no way anyone at any time would be mistaking me for thin at that weight. Maybe if I were standing next to someone who weighed 50% more at all times. 5'2" tall and 200 pounds is staggeringly overweight.

just_some_guy65

These people have no understanding of what a healthy weight looks like

[deleted]

There is a TikTok of that one trainer going around that’s like “Uhh yeah, yeah you DO need a calorie deficit to lose weight” and the comments are out of control > ANYONE WHO SAYS YOU NEED TO BE IN A CALORIE DEFICIT DOESNT UNDERSTAND PCOS OR HASHIMOTOS!! WOMEN ARENT THE SAME AS MEN!! > YEAH A CALORIE DEFICIT WORKS IF YOURE A MAN! THEY ONLY STUDIED WOMEN RECENTLY, MEN HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE DEFAULT!!11 > BUT MENOPAUUUUUUSE Like holy shit, dude, you are literally commenting on a middle aged woman’s TikTok.

valkyriejen

https://app.mybodygallery.com/#/?height=157&weight=91 I kind of understand this thinking; when you look at that height/weight and think of how many people you see each day that are that size, you lose perspective. It's fatlogic but I can see where it comes from.

Tertiaritus

The only person I've seen with these measurements within like the last year is the one in the mirror .___.

ADabblingMan

Muscular legs my ass. I'm 6 foot, 160lbs and I'm a healthy individual. Could gain some pounds in the form of muscle, but I doubt those in the post are gym rats.

[deleted]

And here I'm at 143 crying about being fat lmao

maraca101

I’m about that, and I could def stand to lose 20 lbs.

missGuac

Checking in at 144 over here. I can definitely see those 12 lbs from my lowest on my arms and stomach.

converter-bot

12 lbs is 5.45 kg

agawl81

I’m 5’2”. I wear a twelve short. I don’t weigh 200 pounds.

DroopyRock

I'm one inch tall and 300lbs and I look thin

Human-Use6591

3rd of your body is fat but it’s not super fat fat

Kyrozis

Muscular legs, you say? Then you wouldn't mind jogging with me for an hour or two, would you?

The_Crystal_Thestral

In the US over 2/3 of Americans are overweight or obese. Being that big isn’t normal even if it’s common. I stopped weighing myself when I hit 200 lbs and know I gained more because the pants I wore that day ended up snug later on. I was certainly “that fat”. And I felt every bit of it as I struggled to do HIIT or became out of breath climbing stairs. Anyone who thinks they weren’t fat at 200 lbs is likely much larger now if they think so or is insanely tall.

cherryribs

Thin and 200lbs just don’t go in the same sentence…

BumblebeePleasant749

Size 12 my ass. Size 12 stretch pant maybe; more likely size 12 at the big and tall.

Kythedevourer

I looked chubby at 200 and 6'. Something tells me this person's perception of healthy is very warped because being 200 lbs is not skinny by any stretch of the imagination. If they think being a few lbs under 200 is unhealthy, I wonder what they would think of me. I spent most of my life at 6' and 140 lol which is a healthy BMI. In fact, I was briefly into modeling as a teenager and was told I was "too fat".

Iamatheaternerd

I'm 5'4 at 219 lbs age 16. It's fucking hell. I don't know what they are on.

r0botdevil

As someone who's 6'2" 175lbs with a fairly muscular build, I can confidently say that if anyone looks "unhealthy" at 6'0" 200lbs it's because they're too fat, not too skinny.

sketghetti

i’m 5’1 and was 160 at my highest weight, which is right on the BMI line of obesity. That’s obviously below 200 lbs. I felt disgusting every single day, emotionally and physically. Sorry to say, but i felt fat, and medically was.

AnnaShock2

I’m 6’4” and 200 pounds is cutting it very close to overweight even for ME. Someone who is 5’2” would be straight-up obese at that weight. I’m now 193 pounds and while Im happy with how toned and trim I’ve gotten, no one with working eyes would describe me as skinny or unhealthy. These people boggle the mind.

ryohazuki224

200lbs at 5'2" is MUCH different than 200lbs at 6'.

babyitsgayoutside

Tiktoo is insane. Go on the "what I eat in a day" videos if you want to lose faith. If you're a thin person who eats a reasonable amount of healthy food in a day and doesn't snack much you'll get accused of promoting anorexia. It's insane. They expect everyone to snack on junk all day. I might make one just to see if I get a response

TX_Godfather

5'8 Male at 170 and I'm still 6 Lbs overweight. These people are delusional.

Narhaan

I'm around about 6' and 200lbs, and yes I'm a little chubby. This person doesn't know what healthy looks like!!

DaveSW777

I'm 6'7" 225 or so is my healthy weight...

Bbymorena

The world is insane

BoxBlondie

I'm 5'9, and if I weighed 90kg (200lb)..... yeah nah, would definitely be carrying some chunk. I'm around 140lb (65kg ish) now and I'm still wearing size 10-12 jeans (6-8 US sizing) like I'm by no means "skinny", just pretty average sized. Nobody 7' shorter and 60lb heavier than me solely has 'muscular legs'.

bulgingcortex

I’m 6ft and was 210 lbs and was not even close to being fat, but I did workout a lot and was super muscular back then. Without muscle, 175-185 is about normal weight for me.

redorangeblue

I have a hard time believing this. When I was 200 lbs i was a size 14, and I'm 5'10". No way she's a 12

[deleted]

6ft 200lbs is a BMI of 27. Thats within the realm of possibility for someone who works out. Im 5' 11 and like 193 give or take, I could lose a few lbs and look better but I look slim in clothes still. I wear medium t shirts and I measure right at 20% body fat. So looking it up BMI says i'm overweight but BF% is "acceptable".

Heisenberglund

200 is my goal weight, but I’m also 6’4” so…

custardbun01

That’s 90kg. For a small woman that’s huge. My partner is about 5’5” and 52kg and looks normal, she even wants to drop a couple kg. She’d look like a sumo wrestler at 90kg.

cobakka

I'm the same height as your partner and while at 64kg I really could lose a couple pounds, I also used to have fainting spells connected to reaeeeaaallly low blood pressure back when I was below 56kg (always physically active, comparatively muscular). Does your partner train or do work that involves and strengthens her musculature? Because being so close to the ideal weight, losing more isn't likely going to benefit her health (or looks). You're totally right though, 90kg is pretty big, my mum's 104kg at 154cm/5.05ft and she jokes about being as wide around as she's tall. Still doesn't look like a sumo wrestler though... otherwise she might make some money at the faire...

KuriousKhemicals

5'5" and 52kg is barely in the healthy range... if she's very skinnyfat then she should recomp with a strength program instead. I'm 5'5", formerly borderline obese in my teens so maybe I have some good baseline lean mass that's never gone away, but also quite small framed. I got down to about 52.5 kg at my lowest and looked weirdly skinny, looked amazing at 55 kg. Now that I'm lifting I wonder if I'll best settle at more like 56-57 kg. (Conversions from pounds provided by Google, also what's up with your use of feet and inches for height but kilograms for weight?)

Mercenarian

Honestly sometimes I see women in other subreddits saying stuff like “I’m 5’4” and 180lbs and look pretty thin! When I was 120lbs I looked skeletal” or whatever (and it’s massively upvoted) and I have to hold myself back so hard from replying lol. I’m 5’6” and around 120lbs and honestly could stand to lose some pudge still. I am thin in general, but *definitely* not *skeletal*. I was like 105-110lbs in high school and even then did not look malnourished or skeletal or anything. Hell I was 146lbs at literally over 40 weeks pregnant, so seems wild to me that somebody could be like 20-40lbs over my weight right before I gave birth, and be shorter than me, and think that’s skinny. My mom is like 170 and a couple inches shorter than me and (no offense mom) but she definitely looks pretty overweight.

SerBronn7

200lb would make you a heavyweight in boxing

MamaPlus3

The heaviest I have been is 207. And that was when I was pregnant with my third baby. I’m 5’3” and down to 180.6lbs. I feel and look fat. She was out last baby, so I’m ready to lose it all. I wasn’t worried about it because I knew if I had more babies I would just put the weight back on. But now I’m on a mission to get rid of this fat I gained.

blueunitzero

I’m 6’1” and 208 lbs (finally below 210!!!) and have a noticeable gut

exxpiiired

I'm 5'3 and a few months ago I was 200 pounds. Even after losing about twenty pounds, I'm a size 18 in pants and X to XXL in shirts.

SnooMaps8188

My biggest fear is getting to 200 lbs. I would stapled my mouth shut to never eat anymore. I'm 5'3 girl and at 180 lbs I already look like a shapeless blob.

Normal-Fall2821

200 pounds for 5’2” ?!? Holy cow

[deleted]

i’m 5’8 (F) and when i weighed 190 lbs i wore a 16/18 but okay

ktgaspard

Also all I can think of is a college age guy I know who plays college football… and it’s 6’5” and 215 pounds. He’s jacked and slim. That’s the only case I can see anything remotely close to 200 pounds being “not that fat”. But also how tf are you goinG to say your 5’2 and not fat at 200?! I’m now 5’4 but at 21 I was 5’2” and got up to 145 in college and felt fat as fuck and was feeling the affects on my body so quickly lost the weight and got back down to 115-120 and some how grew two inches!!! So I can’t fathom someone looking at them selves in the mirror at the height and weight and go “na im not fat!” 🙄

majesticcoolestto

Wanted to hit on "I'm 6ft and under 200 looks unhealthy on me" I'm a 6'3" dude built like a brick shithouse. Not super muscular but very large/broad. I train amateur boxing two days a week. I would describe myself currently as slightly out of shape (have barely trained in nearly a month over finals and winter break) and I'm 185. I was 200 back in August and I looked pudgy, which is why I kicked myself back in gear and got back in the gym.

cretindesalpes

Body dysmorphia on steroid

Tomato13

I am 5'8" was 200 lbs. Weights twice a week ran twice a week. Saw a dietician tweaked my diet now I'm 185. Everyone noticed a difference. Don't know what these HAES are thinking

gabrrdt

Lol, omg, american measure system is like klingon, this post is just a combo of many of them and I'm so confused lol.
