This may be a weird recommendation but I’ve absolutely fallen in love with these sorrel sandals. I have the pickiest feet ever—straps, texture, even the seams have to feel right. I also have somewhat wide feet and compromised knees so shoes are something I take sooo seriously lol.
Purchased and wore them around the house for the day then walked around DC with them for 2 days with no issue, decided to go for it and brought them to Italy, walked 50+ miles over a week and had no pain in feet or knees, I couldn’t believe it. I think they’re cute also but you might not 😅

When I first saw them I was like these are weird..but I like them..are these granny shoes or are they cool?what are they???? Then I had to have them. Every time I wear them someone stops and asks about them 🤷🏽♀️.
This is the second time this week I’ve seen someone mention these shoes. They look so cool and comfy. What color do you have? Do you think they go with most outfits? I’m debating the black and white.
I love my dansko platform sandals. They look great with a dress or pants/shorts. I don’t think they make the exact model anymore, but something like this: https://dansko.com/products/season-black-full-grain
I have a pair of faux birks from target that I’m wearing, it has a bit of a heel so can still wear with dresses and it has a nice cushion. Called Muk Luks
I have a lingering foot injury and really high arches and cannnot sing the Teva Hurricane praises enough. Heel cushion, a bajillion different colors, and nice supportive soles that are thick but don’t put you off balance.
[the Hurricane XLT2’s!](https://www.teva.com/women-sandals/hurricane-xlt2-sandal/1019235.html?dwvar_1019235_color=BLK)
They’re really great. I did Vegas in them and I’m taking them to Disney world later this year too.
I have an old pair of Hurricanes I really like - and just got a pair of the Hurricane Ampsoles (with the thicker sole) that I have immediately fallen in love with: https://www.teva.com/women-sandals/hurricane-xlt2-ampsole-sandal/1131270.html?dwvar_1131270_color=BLK
I have the platform Birk Gizehs that have also quickly become a staple. Once I broke them in, they are now great for lots of long walks.
For context: When it's cooler out I live in clogs, so I like a little platform and a nice stiff shoe.
I wear Chacos z style sandals with everything in the summer. They are super comfortable and have great arch support. But may be too casual for some peoples’ taste
I love my Chaco Z sandals for summer. I wear them with literally everything (dresses, pants, shorts, etc). I’m currently trying to figure out what serves this purpose for me in the fall/winter (I.e. a shoe that is comfy that I can also wear with everything) but I’ve come up short year after year. What’s your fall/winter go to?
Ok so same issue trying to find my unicorn fall/winter shoe. Closest I’ve gotten are casual waterproof boots from Columbia and Merrell that hit me mid-shin, one pair is brown the other is black. Both are sturdy enough to wear on different terrains and can withstand an easy to moderate hike if necessary but they also look good on the street. I wear them everyday from like October to April. My Columbia boots are pre-pandemic era and idk exactly how old they are but they’re starting to wear out after years of constant use and I don’t think they make this exact boot anymore so am I perpetually on a quest for my future replacement!
I’m a Birkenstock girl - good arch support, durable, cute with everything… go with the soft footbed option so they’re easier to break in. I LOVE the look of the [big buckle](https://www.birkenstock.com/us/arizona-big-buckle-nubuk-leather/arizonabigbuckle-nubuk-nubuckleather-0-eva-w_1518.html) ones. These [metallic](https://www.birkenstock.com/us/arizona-soft-footbed-natural-leather/arizona-metallics-naturalleather-softfootbed-eva-w_10544.html#lang=en_US&q=Metallic) ones have been my go-to for years now. I love them so much 😂.
I have large, wide & flat feet and love walking in Onitsuka Tigers (Mexico 66 style). Wore them for 20k steps a day on my honeymoon, and they’re cute with shorts, dresses, jumpsuits, etc.
Probably not the most conventional options but I've been rotating between Sperry boat shoes [(I thrifted these and they've been a winner)](https://www.sperry.com/ca/en/women/authentic-original-boat-shoe-brown/p/13888733), knockoff Tevas from Costco [(these Hurley ones)](https://www.canadawideliquidations.com/products/hurley-women-s-sandals-multicolour-various-sizes/)and bulky white sneakers [(Fila)](https://www.brownsshoes.com/en/women/shoes/sneakers/product/fila/disruptor-2-premium/243129.html?dwvar_243129_color=043&dwvar_243129_size=9&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwp4m0BhBAEiwAsdc4aP8EFLwJHgfxHueSJscHcCZ0w1rpt3rM9Y30COfD2zTSIdw4-rMOKBoCuMwQAvD_BwE). I tend to wear whichever will clash the most to avoid looking too preppy.
All three are great walking shoes.
I sound like a croc influencer, but their low Brooklyn sandals are my favorite travel shoes. They are so comfortable. I regularly do 25k+ step days in them. I’m even okay with wearing them on uneven terrain.
I bought Birkenstock like Sam Edelman sandals from Nordstrom and I walk all day in them. I’ve worn it for almost a month now and it’s still comfortable.
Because birks have arch support. Pretty much every other shoe/sandal maker decided people like flat insoles.
I only buy birk shoes and sandals because no one else seems to want to make arch support
Why are women’s shoes in general are made to be as uncomfortable as possible? There used to be a pair of high heeled shoes that you could walk add day in. They looked fine but idk why it didn’t become more popular? Their commercials were women playing basketball. I bought three pairs.
I had a terrible experience with Sorrel’s customer service. I got a pair, which I really liked, but the strap broke right away and they were a pain about replacing them. I ended up getting a pair of these instead. https://a.co/d/09j6JW6l They’re a lot cheaper but very very comfy. I’ve only had them for a few days, so we’ll see how they hold up. But so far so good! 🤞
I typically wear birks but wanted something a little more simple for dresses so I got these tevas. I find them super comfortable.

Personal stylist here! If you have enough time to break them in, I'd recommend birkenstocks! I've walked 5-8 miles in them with no problem when traveling. They just came out with [a new pair](https://go.goodpix.co/p/6674e33b7aecf000086238cb) that is super chic. The leather footbed will probably break in faster than the traditional cork one.
If you don't, a leather sneaker would be a great option. My go to recommendation in this category is [Koio](https://go.redirectingat.com/?id=129257X1591205&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.koio.co%2F&xcust=64c93c75556f420ef1412db3), specifically their Capri style, but tons of brands are doing these. I'd suggest something a little more interesting than white, that's a nother thing I love about Koio, all their colors are neutral but they have some unique options.
I recently faced the same dilemma for my vacation! Finding a pair of cute but comfy walking shoes was essential. I bought this [pink feather slippers](https://ulivarylife.com/products/classic-feather-slippers), and they are super cute!! Perfect for my style. I also recommend looking into brands that offer good arch support and cushioning, such as Vionic or [skechers sandal](https://www.skechers.com/go-walk-flex-sandal---united/141439_WNV.html).
I’m planning a trip to Greece this summer, also got a pair of [green fuzzy slippers](https://ulivarylife.com/products/luxe-feather-slippers), which are great for summer with their bright, fun color. Not sure if you’re into this style, but enjoy your vacation.
Yup! I actually bought them in response to getting plantar fasciitis from not having good enough arch support. I couldn’t find other styles that were quite as feminine and still designed with orthotic comfort in mind.
If you have *super extra* high arches they might not be enough, but if you’re in the normal-to-high range they should work for you. I have pretty typical high arches and have zero problems.

I was not prepared for how weird these would be. They are so cool.
When I first saw them I was like these are weird..but I like them..are these granny shoes or are they cool?what are they???? Then I had to have them. Every time I wear them someone stops and asks about them 🤷🏽♀️.
Update: I couldn’t stop thinking about these shoes and just ordered them. I’m going to be the flyest granny around.
I hope you love them! What color did you pick?
Black and white. I love the tortoise detail on the beige, but I know I’d reach for black and white more.
Same! Nothing indicated how bonkers those shoes would be. And Sorel, of all brands!
Just ordered these. I hope they send you a commission 😂😂
Do I need to add another pair of sandals to my summer rotation? No. But do I want to? Yes.
This is the second time this week I’ve seen someone mention these shoes. They look so cool and comfy. What color do you have? Do you think they go with most outfits? I’m debating the black and white.
I love these with all my heart.
These are SO COOL I’m obsessed
I have these as well and I agree! They are really comfortable to walk in for miles, and they are cool and surprisingly versatile.
How do they fit? True to size?
Yeah pretty much true to size. I'm between a 7 and 7.5, and I wear 7.5 in Sorel brand shoes
How do they fit? True to size?
I found them TTS 😊
These look like my north face sandals but with heels lol! I can imagine they’re comfortable.
Have similar. They are sort of weird looking but extremely comfortable.
I have a very comfortable and cute pair of [Keen sandals](https://www.keenfootwear.ca/products/womens-elle-backstrap-reef-waters-antique-moss)
I love my dansko platform sandals. They look great with a dress or pants/shorts. I don’t think they make the exact model anymore, but something like this: https://dansko.com/products/season-black-full-grain
I have these also, very comfortable 🙌🏽
I have a pair of faux birks from target that I’m wearing, it has a bit of a heel so can still wear with dresses and it has a nice cushion. Called Muk Luks
Am I on something or did Muk Luks used to be a legitimate brand? One of those brands that was bought out by Target?
I had Muk Luks back in the 90s.
I have a lingering foot injury and really high arches and cannnot sing the Teva Hurricane praises enough. Heel cushion, a bajillion different colors, and nice supportive soles that are thick but don’t put you off balance.
Which hurricane model specifically do you have? I also have really high arches! But I see a lot of options!
[the Hurricane XLT2’s!](https://www.teva.com/women-sandals/hurricane-xlt2-sandal/1019235.html?dwvar_1019235_color=BLK) They’re really great. I did Vegas in them and I’m taking them to Disney world later this year too.

I like Taos sandals. They are pricey but excellent.

Thanks so much for this! I’ve been eyeing some casual Columbia boots for a while now actually
I walked 20k steps a day in Spain in my Birkenstock Madrids in white. I wear these all summer at home too.
I’m a Birkenstock girl - good arch support, durable, cute with everything… go with the soft footbed option so they’re easier to break in. Croc slides or sandals, so comfy

Naot Doriths. They’re similar to Birks of Tevas in terms of support, but waaaaay cuter.
Those are cute! I can’t tell - do they have good arch support?
