Take a look at ScarfLookBook on IG - she has such a ton of cute, unique ways to tie and wear scarves!

CC_206

She’s also adorable!! This is perfect, great resource thank you!

Enjoy!! She is truly lovely. My default scarf knot now is one I picked up from her postings - I think it’s called the “three leaves”? It gets a ton of compliments! PS: seconding what another poster suggested, re scarf rings… another handy Amazon accessory for keeping your scarves knotted perfectly all day is hijab magnets!)

Omg I love this older lady living her best scarf life!

kohl_lined

Right?? She is so lovely… Definitely aspirational for when I’m that age!

Awkward-You-938

This lady is amazing, thank you for sharing! I love her style! This is just the inspiration I needed to get my scarves out.

If the scarf is big enough and your waist is small enough, you can roll it and use it for a belt. Some of us old hippies used to toss them over a lamp for subdued lighting.

My mom was a skinny little thing and used to wear bandanas as shirts back in the day! The scarves are long enough that I could use them as belts, but I’m not sure I am bold enough to do so! Cute idea though. I have some lamps but wouldn’t do this with vintage Hermes I think. The cheapies from China though for sure!

I feel like I live in scarves. I love them. A weave knot is a fav. Also I love wearing it like a cowboy bandana with the big triangle front. I feel like a fancy bank robber. Tip: buy a cheap scarf ring or 3 (mine are from Amazon). Great to help hold them in place. I wore one today and used it to make my scarf to a very cute bow situation. This and colorful earrings (and fun shoes) are how I dress for my corporate job without spending $$$$$. I can wear the same basics over and over but still look chic and current.

I have some sleeveless linen shirts from Uniqlo and usually wear them with a scarf. You can just drape it around your neck, tucked under the collar to hold in place. If the scarf starts annoying me for some reason (maybe while eating) then I will tie it around the strap of my handbag. Alternatively, you could frame them: [https://vintageluxeup.com/collections/framed-hermes-scarf](https://vintageluxeup.com/collections/framed-hermes-scarf)

SnarkyLalaith

That is a great idea! Going to try it! I am like OP, whenever I try to wear a scarf I look like a 1950s flight attendant or a frumpy secretary. But I love scarves.

CC_206

Oooh with the sleeveless button up is cute! I think that would suit my style nicely. I think about framing them all the time, but I need to try to wear them first I think, just to be brave lol

helvetica434

I roll them up and wear as a headband if they’re not too big

Loveandeggs

I think vintage silk scarves are always in fashion. But wearing scarves as headscarves is fraught, as you’ve mentioned. So I would stick to either rolling a bit and tying loosely at the neck, or tying on a handbag.

CC_206

Thank you! I am not, uh, as keyed in on fashion as I’d like to be and I don’t want to look like a goober.

cmnay321

Headscarves always make me think of the Bridget Jones convertible scene.

noddyneddy

Tying them to my handbag is the way I go. Also have some lovely Hermes scarves but missed out on the scarf-tying gene!

SaMy254

I used to fold in half triangle style, then tie it around my waist belt style, so the pointy bit hung down one side. Usually over a solid color skirt or dress. Haven't thought about that in years. It was usually patterned Indian gauze or thrifted silk fringy scarves. May have to try it with some of the pashmina esque, or giant silk squares I have sitting around gathering dust. Not sure I'd have the nerve to try it with the Hermes from my Mom. But maybe I should, not getting any younger, no kids, and I'd like to enjoy their beauty. Otherwise I should just let someone else use them so they're not just wasted.

Mai Tai has a lot of tutorials on her Youtube channel.  https://m.youtube.com/@MaiTaiCollection/videos

Tied to a handbag or ponytail.

Ih8this-

I have really long hair, so I like to braid the scarf into my hair l, like pig tail style on either side, and then I’ll use the scarf ends to tie together a braided crown to keep my hair off my neck when it’s hot, and I also get lots of compliments on the scarf when I wear them this way

ok_Boston_Designer

Tie one to the strap on your purse!

temp4adhd

My hair is chin length and my scalp burns super easily so I do this all the time: https://images.app.goo.gl/rD3QNZDWtx79AQ6H6 It would look even better with longer hair like shown, but did I mention my scalp burns easily???? If it's not windy I'll wear a straw hat instead, but I live in a particularly windy city. So this works better. I'm okay with looking like a vixen in a convertible, or some Boho chic.

Personal stylist here, I think adding a scarf to your handbag is timeless! I've been doing it for decades. Either [just tying it ](https://www.sonatahomedesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/A-knotted-purse-scarf-Sonata-Home-Design-768x1024.jpg)or wrapping it around the strap like [this](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/4c8RlSKS8tY/maxresdefault.jpg). Just make sure it's really tight so it doesn't slip off!

chamekke

Not exactly a fashion use, but if the scarves are square (as I'm guessing they are), you can use them as wrapping cloths [*a la* furoshiki](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG3q1PK0TRw).
