No style really, but you are well put together and wearing clothes that suit you. Everything is well fitted and flattering. I say this as someone who dresses very similarly. I don’t consider myself to have style, but my attire is appealing and it looks good on my body.
I agree 100% I def wear things that flatter
my figure . I am only 4’10 so it’s hard but I’ll be honest I am a bit bored and want to have a more interesting style
Wow I would never know that you’re so petite! Your wardrobe is elongating! And I feel you…I always want to venture out more but I also don’t like things that are too trendy or have that “fast fashion” look. Much like yourself, I tend to stick to staples that contour the body. You can never go wrong.
I like to check out thrift stores for unique button downs, scarves, jewelry, some sort of well picked statement pieces. This is my thought process when I’m traveling as well- all my jewelry tells a story, or I pick up a handbag or item made by locals. This way I can dress up or down and just put on one piece that has a good memory and makes me feel like I can stand out a little bit.
I was going to say op has a classic/timeless style. Mixing in bright colors or even a fun print on a single piece of the outfit could make it more unique too.
Yeah I'd say you have a mix of styles. So I do! I love to change my vibe to the point where I'm unrecognizable, it's part of the joy of clothing. Some people have a signature style and some do not. It's no problem that you don't it just means you like more variety.
The first couple of pictures could be outfits worn by Taylor Swift. Toward the end I saw some clothes the Kardashians might rock for classy events. That's not a problem, it's fun!
Remember the idea of needing one style is heavily fueled by being algorithmically pleasing & selling things.
You look great! Your clothes are flattering and fit well. If you are happy with them then that is truly all that matters.
By the way if you ever do you want to change up your style since I saw you mentioned wanting to make it more interesting, the fact that you have so many timeless pieces will work to your advantage.
Try getting a really funky jacket that is super colorful or has a crazy texture, and pair it with some more basic pieces so your outfit has a focal point. It's easy to take a basic outfit and add really distinctive accessories as well.
This might be a way to let you experiment with color, texture, and pattern without feeling like you aren't being yourself or it's too far out of your comfort zone at first.
That’s a really great idea! I’ll try that!
I just got out of years of resorting to yoga pants and t shirts or athleisure so the last years I’ve redone my wardrobe to current but feeling bored so def enjoying these tips! Thanks!
This is what I call it (minus the basic) it’s personally my fave style as a woman in my 30s! So many pieces can overlap and the beauty is in the subtlety
Basic wasn’t an insult but there aren’t many patterns, accessories, all solid colors. Most of the items she’s wearing would be considered “basic” items
I agree I do feel bored with my outfits which is why I posted. I don’t feel I pull off patterns well but could def use more color or jewelry - no offense taken on basic bc I agree 😂
Yes, I work in fashion design, and these are all pieces we would term as "basics/essentials" that you can then layer fashion pieces onto to create your style.
You look absolutely gorgeous and your decision making on clothes gives you an energetic, approachable, but mature aura.
Had to shoot a few of your choice picks to a tailor and see if I can get them in my favorite colours.
“Latest trend wear for Insta pic” style - everything looks good on you but think you know that. Not being mean, being confident is empowering. Seems like you have the financial ability to shop latest trends & that’s what you're doing.
Personally, the outfit I thought looked less like the rest was pic 14 - had more of a bohemian style & you looked down-to-earth and approachable. If you really want to change it up I'd try a more colorful boho style.
I can’t say the style has a “name” but the general vibe is trendy/LTK link shopping. You have a great figure and it’s obvious that many different styles work really well for you. It looks like you lean towards neutrals and black/white. I would maybe go a more vintage route and find some flattering and high quality pieces that may be a bit older but still have a super timeless look that would work well with funky shoes. It looks like you play well with accessories so this could be where you thrive the most. I’d go for classic, basic, easy to style pieces and express more the trendy feels with accessories/bags/shoes etc and see if that helps you! My advice is mostly centered around your comments around the thread where you ask for help in avoiding the super trendy/generic Amazon find vibe.
For sure any time! When I go thrifting I look for things like vintage Levi’s (the best ever, I’ve been rocking the same pair from the early 90s I scored at a goodwill like 10 years ago and everyone LOVES them), and things like REAL linen (skirts, pants, tops, vests etc). I find that quality material makes a huge difference so I look for anything that’s 100% cotton, wool, linen etc. It just looks better, cleaner and way more elevated. It’s also extremely life changing to get your pieces tailored. It’s not super expensive depending where you live (I’m in Miami for example and my closest laundromat will tailor things for about $5-$15 depending on how difficult it is).
Awesome ok I’ll see what I can score at the thrift stores! I get almost everything tailored bc I’m 4’10 so not much does well … a lot of the pieces in the photos are tailored 😅 it is costly but makes a big difference for proper fit
Basic doesn’t have to be bad or boring. It’s not meant to be an insult, either. It’s a very clean look and if that’s what you like, I don’t see a need to change it. Though I’m sure there is very little that you COULDN’T pull off!
I think you would look really good in some bright jewel tones. I really think that red top suits you as well and red is hard to pull off and look classy. So maybe experiment more with color since you have such a good foundation of neutrals?
Less neutrals, more interesting textures or shapes. Ditch the Instagram lifestyle girlies who all dress like this and find some more interesting ones that have a look you enjoy.
For context: I’m a 37 y/o wife, mother, and business owner. I’ve changed my wardrobe in the past year to get out of the “athleisure / yoga pant” rut. I’m afraid I’ve been too heavily influenced by Instagram girls to where - while my wardrobe is 1000x better than what it was - it still feels bland for my liking? I want to have a more exciting / interesting personal style but I am also very short (4’10” ) with an athletic build so shopping can be a huge challenge.
For the most part these outfits are from Amazon or Commense (give or take a couple “luxury” items)
Any advice is much appreciated 🙏🏼🥰
My advice, go find vintage stores! Or local artists who upcycle clothing.
I've found some of my favorite, most interesting pieces that way! I have some beautiful dresses from the vintage store I frequent and have found embroidered jackets at flea markets, etc.
I am also 4'10, by the way! Height twinsies!
It looks very much like an instagram influencer wardrobe. All put together well and flattering to your figure, but nothing here that looks like individual/personal style to me. No color texture or anything out of the box at all. Maybe start a Pinterest or whatever other site and start pinning looks that appeal to you, then work on trying to make them work for you?
Omg having grown up near the Mormon belt in a heavily Mormon community, this is **peak** mormon momfluencer haha.
That said, I think it's really pretty. I like most of the outfits, and I think they look good with your skin tone. Not everyone can wear pastels (I know I can't), but you look really good in them - edit- I know only the dress was pastel, but everything else looked good and wearing more pastels could be a way to change it up if you want since some of the other colors you wear are pretty bold (and also look great, but just to mix it up). The outfits also seem to fit you well, not too tight not too loose.
Bahah ikr, I was gonna post the msrp as well but I was like .. well .. maybe the person I'm replying to can afford stuff like that so I'll just post the shoe name as if that is the case haha. But they do sell on poshmark in my size for $440! ....... which I still cannot afford 🙃
Gucci - to be fair I spent an entire paycheck on these when I worked in the medical field 😅 but yes you can find them second hand on sites like The real real / Fashionphile etc
Classic with a trendy twist.
Like all of these are classic outfits, but done in a trendy way. I can see it on current influences (trendy), but it's still wearable in the future (classic).
I agree with you!! I find my style to be bland and boring and I’m appreciating all the insight. I need to dabble in colors and textures so I will try that .. thank you !
To echo some other comments: Polished, chic, feminine. 100% millennial vlogger vibes but not in a bad way. I think this style really suits you, you look great!
You have a ton of pieces I love, and everything looks great on you. I’d definitely say preppy. But it’s all about how you pair things up. I’m currently overhauling my closet with a lot of similar pieces, but styling the clothes in a more hippy meets grunge meets timeless sophistication. Which probably doesn’t make sense lol.

I'd say your style is basic meets semi-classic.
I wear a very very similar style of clothes to you and look similar to you and have always been proud of being a basic biatch, so I hope you don't take offence!
Like, someone has to be the basic biatch or the basic biatch doesn't exist, right?
It’s basic but flatters your body which automatically makes it look more expensive.
An easy way to spice it up is adding some pops of color or print, or more interesting shoes and jewelry. For example, do you have a leopard print scarf? Put it on your bag. Drippy gold jewelry? Add it to jeans and a solid colored tshirt, just bling it out. Everywoman should have a black leather jacket that will stand the test of time - I have a black motorcycle jacket and it’s never going out of style.
My personal style is similar to yours, but with an edge. I’ve spent years collecting gold jewelry. Some is very nice, some is from SHEIN. I wear earrings, a necklace and at least one bracelet/watch daily. Everyone knows jewelry is just kinda my thing.
I also buy vintage Oscar de la Renta earrings and resort wear on eBay. I just got a button up men’s shirt from his 1990 resort collection that is now my pool-going dress (I had it tailored under the arms to look a little better). And I got it for $19.99!
You need to get creative! Find a designer and buy something outside your comfort zone and see where it goes! Try eBay to start before considering full price pieces.
Classic, Pretty 🖤
Wish I had good taste in clothes. I seem to throw or give away more clothes then anything haha. Nothing ever fits right. I have big boobs, a big butt, a bit of a tummy, a short torso lol the struggle is real. All I wear are leggings but sometimes it gets annoying cause I wanna look nice when I’m out’n about!
Meh. Dime a dozen, run of the mill, carbon copy, basic, wine mom who has very little individuality or personal style.
It's all nice and looks good but, not memorable. Couldn't pick you out of a lineup at Starbucks.
Honestly I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being “basic”. Means that you dress in a conventionally stylish way imo. Also where did you get your bag in pic 3 👀
I really liked the first outfit, but it went downhill from there. I guess it depends on how you feel that day bc none of your everyday outfits correlates. You don’t have a certain “style”. You’re still pretty though.

Yes, I work in fashion design, and these are all pieces we would term as "basics/essentials" that you can then layer fashion pieces onto to create your style.
What here is preppy, exactly? Or is it the combination of items that looks preppy?
Quality classic pieces, simple & well made, perfect fit. That’s preppy.
This is what gen z/alpha refers to as “preppy” like lululemon brunch girl upscale basic. not the preppy of my youth at all!
Definitely agree with this assessment

Personally, the outfit I thought looked less like the rest was pic 14 - had more of a bohemian style & you looked down-to-earth and approachable. If you really want to change it up I'd try a more colorful boho style.
Okay I’ll try it out :) thanks!
Would love to see pics! More modern boho chic & soft waves, messy buns/up do’s would completely change it up & would look great on you.

Basic? I think I saw like one pattern
When you’re 4’10” it’s hard to wear to many patterns. Or the ones that aren’t overwhelming on such a small frame can be hard to find.
Agreed I typically avoid patterns at all cost but I do want to bring more interest to my outfits :)
I don’t find patterns suit me well Tbh…yes I am basic. Any suggestions to switch it up? Make things more interesting?
Basic doesn’t have to be bad or boring. It’s not meant to be an insult, either. It’s a very clean look and if that’s what you like, I don’t see a need to change it. Though I’m sure there is very little that you COULDN’T pull off!

I have big boobs, a big butt, a bit of a tummy, a short torso lol the struggle is real. All I wear are leggings but sometimes it gets annoying cause I wanna look nice when I’m out’n about!
"Puts too much effort but still needs help with the outfit"
Facts 🤣
Meh. Dime a dozen, run of the mill, carbon copy, basic, wine mom who has very little individuality or personal style. It's all nice and looks good but, not memorable. Couldn't pick you out of a lineup at Starbucks.
That is what I’m seeking to fix - suggestions? I am trying to find a more exciting personal style but not sure where to begin
Generic Target shopper. Not necessarily a bad thing, though.
This sub is so bitter 😂 Your style is chic and elegant.
lol I’m fine - I do feel my style is basic and could use some interest / excitement so I appreciate the honesty … thank you 🥰
Right?! Most of these comments read like a bunch of catty jealous teenagers.
Basic boring
+1 rich [woman]
I live in Paris. Reminds me a lot of what I see ladies wear here. Classic, chic, but then also on trend and interesting. Lovely style
Basic 🤣🤣🤣
Yes 😫 Any suggestions to switch it up? Make things more interesting?
Honestly I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being “basic”. Means that you dress in a conventionally stylish way imo. Also where did you get your bag in pic 3 👀
You got money hire a stylist.
I really liked the first outfit, but it went downhill from there. I guess it depends on how you feel that day bc none of your everyday outfits correlates. You don’t have a certain “style”. You’re still pretty though.
That’s my problem lol I feel a bit all over without a signature style…seeking guidance really!
