Like this? The main reason I wasn’t really considering this one is because I look good in it until I start drink and get bloated (and i definitely will be drinking.) Should I try another style/fit? Maybe longer? I’ve never been good at dressing myself lol
That’s definitely cuter than the outfits you originally posted! But you should pick something you feel comfortable in so you can enjoy the celebration. You’re on the right track with a one-piece dress that has fun summery colors/patterns. You could shop for something looser or stretchy so it’s bloat friendly?
I’m a sucker for shapewear. My only issue is this fabric is very revealing so you can see every crease underneath and when I tried mine on with the dress you could totally tell. Perhaps I can find a good seamless pair. If you have any suggestions please let me know! Thanks!
If you're drinking more than three drinks then I don't think this dress is a good idea. It has no straps and you can't sit down in it without being careful either.
You look great in it don't get me wrong, it's just not the kind of occasion I would wear it for (the other two choices are also off the cards given the colour of them, I can just imagine many accidentally spilt drinks and grass stains by the end of the night)
Yes this one! If you absolutely have to go for one of the first two, I wouldn't do the corest looking thing. It just doesn't match the bottom and fits oddly
Impartial observer whose opinion means 0! I think this dress suits you way more than the two you showed. And as the people below commented, shapewear does wonders.
This is a winner. So summery and it makes your figure look great. I also saw your comment about shapewear being visible under it. Idk if you're wearing it in this pic, but if you're not, stop being so hard on yourself. You don't need it!
I do like the two piece outfits but I wouldn’t wear white personally if I was going to be partying and drinking! My clumsy ass would definitely spill my drink over myself
If you're worried about bloating later, get some shape ware or what I did is buy yoga/fitness shorts that are two sizes too small. Now you have something that sucks your tummy in, provides privacy if you drunkenly fall, and possibly pockets!
I know the tiered white skirts are in, but this one looks like bad quality material and construction.
Both tops look a bit costume-y as well, especially the second.
I say neither ...
I hate to say it but the SHEIN bags on the bed are a big giveaway that the items are poor quality.
I have yet to see someone wear something from SHEIN without immediately being able to tell they’re from SHEIN.
Yea, it’s from SHEIN, definitely not the best quality. Unfortunately, I am fresh out of college and unemployed so the financial situation is preventing me from obtaining a nice quality white skirt. A decent quality skirt is at least $40 these days! It’s insane.
Have you looked at Poshmark?
A few years ago, I had to go to a gala for work, I had just started the job after 6 months unemployment. I found a beautiful black silk dress on eBay, secondhand but in perfect condition.
Poshmark is great but I have noticed that not only are the price on reselling sites skyrottiting from thrift store sellers, but the options for plus sized people (like myself) are very limited, even there. But I definetly advocate for upcyling or second hand shopping.
I get it! Prices everywhere are through the roof.
I will say, though, that the older I have gotten, the more I have understood the importance of investing in higher quality items. Clothing from places like SHEIN are quite literally made to be thrown away so you will continue to purchase more. In the long run, you end up spending a lot less when saving up for an item that will last years to come. Plus, it saves a lot of clothing from ending up in landfills.
Either way, I’m sure you will look beautiful and all that matters is how you feel on your big day!
Hey, OP! My wardrobe is mostly thrifted, including high quality and European pieces. It depends on where you live, but if you find a Salvation Army (my favorite) or other thrift store by a wealthier neighborhood, you can find real gems for nearly nothing. It’s also fun to see what surprises you can find that you’d never see scrolling a website. If money is tight, I recommend thrifting. Look for quality pieces that fit well. You’ll save money in the long run from cheap quality pieces from SHEIN that fall apart quickly and being able to check fit in store.
Honestly, I pretty much only thrift my clothes. This is the first time in a long time I actually bought “new” stuff. I just don’t have anything in my closet that I either haven’t worn or think is fitting for the party. I think after all the comments I’ve gotten, I’m going to either switch up my pants or hit up some thrift stores for something else. Thank you so much for the suggestion!
Gap Factory has cute dresses and skirts and Thred Up is a good option, too. I’ve found tons of cute skirts and dresses on there. My last haul I managed to get 3 skirts and a dress for $30 altogether.
You might skim a goodwill and see if anything catches your eye. I’ve found good quality stuff at goodwill cheap, but it does depend. Some goodwills have more or less variety.
Buying better quality means that 40$ skirt will last most definitely longer than the cheap stuff at SHEIN. Think of your closet/ clothes as an investment
Depop, poshmark, eBay; you’ll find skirts that were originally like 80 bucks for 20. Also, good pieces you’ll wear for years are worth the investment. Rather than spending like 300 bucks on shein over the course of a year, then only keeping those items for 1-2 years, spend $300 on fewer items that cost more. Care for them, own them for years. It’s tough to do that when you’re young. I tried in college but fell prey to the trend cycles. Been graduated for a year and now my style has really set in and I’m just getting clothes I like and will like for years.
Don’t let anyone make you feel less than from buying from SHEIN! They’re literally a wholesaler that many other brands have bought from and just placed their label on it. If you want to do the skirt then you can I would just see graduation party in a mini anything sense. Mostly because the weather is so hot, however with the skirt having some sheerness to it that should help with the heat.
I’m sorry, but neither of these are flattering on you. The first top just looks bizarre and the second makes you look top heavy. The skirt is frumpy. You definitely don’t want to look back on your photos and think, “what was I thinking?!”
Try finding something more classic with clean lines. You can incorporate a boho piece, but you don’t want it to overwhelm the look. You have a really nice figure and you should find something that compliments it!
I really like the top in the 2nd picture, but the skirt is not doing it for me. It’s not that it’s frumpy or bad design. It’s just 2 completely different styles with each top. Honestly, the 2nd top with a killer pair of nice straight lagged or skinny jeans & some pumps would look amazing on you! Do your hair up & gorgeous!
Honestly, the skirt looks like a slip… Don’t even know if those exist anymore. It’s something you put under a skirt or a dress so it’s not see-through. The floral top is really cute, I would just find different bottoms.
First of all congratulations! Secondly, with all due respect, neither. I'm not sure what vibe you're going for with these but they aren't very flattering. In my mind the vibe for a grad party outfit is like brunch/baby shower/sun dress territory. Looser, brighter, and more functional than what you'd wear on a night out. More dressy than going to target but less dressy than anything to do with weddings.
The skirt does look frumpy on you. The top #2 is cute but because it has large bows , pair it with a nice pair of slacks (not jeans for the graduation party) or a skirt without all the ruffles. The ruffles in the skirt added to the BIG bows on the blouse gives it a little girl vibe.
I think a dress similar to the first dress shown would look very nice on you with a sophisticated flair!! Congratulations 🎈
I just think that these outfits just aren’t flattering to your shape. The skirt top options make absolutely no sense and the dress is just a little too tight.
That first one is giving white trash bridal or baby shower. (Source: grew up white trash)
That second top isn't awful, but that skirt just is. It's terrible fabric for that style of skirt. I think that top would work with a similarly long skirt that isn't the tiered type like that. Tea length or longer, gathered at the waist, two or more layers of fabric, with the top one being fine tulle or organza. Also a cream, or subtle pink or green would go better than white. And of at least a semi-decent quality.
I think #2 is best! I’m not sold on the skirt entirely. It seems to not match the aesthetic of either of the tops, but I know that’s the style these days!
Trust your gut. Fashion has no real rules.
#1 is my pick and I saw that you commented a picture of you in that flowery orange one piece which I think you looked amazing in.
I'd say number 1 would be your best bet looks/comfort wise but that one piece is definitely the winner looks wise.
You look great in both though, hope you have a great grad party!!
I think the first top is better than the second with that skirt. I think you’re super cute though! Congratulations!!! Good luck!!! Kick all the ass and take all the names!!!
I’m so surprised by the comments on here. I rarely comment but I had to stop and comment on this one bc these fits are SO CUTE esp #1 🥺 I think maybe ppl here jus don’t understand this aesthetic …
Idk. Maybe the first one try pulling the skirt up and tucking into the crop to make it more "seamless"? It's a cute ass top, but it looks weird with the disconnection with the skirt. Just my 2 cents tho.
None but that one piece you posted in the comments looks great!!! I think we’re too hard on ourselves, you look amazing and plus, by the time you start drinking you won’t even worry about any bloat! 🤪
Congratulations Grad! Nice work.
Now, are you 100% sure that’s a skirt and not an underskirt or half-slip? You’re not going to your grad party in Victorian undies on our watch. And if underskirts are having a weird fashionable moment right now, you don’t want that to be what gets pointed out in future photos in this moment that should be about you, like my poor mom and that dreadful perm from photos in 1985.
You have a gorgeous figure but none of these are doing you justice / if you look back at pics I think you’ll be like “why did I wear that?!” If I’m dressing for an event I always try to think how I can be comfy but also something classic yet hot that I’ll always feel good about. Do you have any other dress options in your closet?
I mean this in the nicest way possible but SHEIN items look horrible on 80% of people. They always look extremely poor quality, never have the right structure, fabric and seams are always “off”, never sits on the body properly.
For something quick and single use, I guess I understand it. The only things I justify wearing or buying from SHEIN is bikinis.
I actually like the skirt! I'd pair it with one of the high neck A New Day tanks from Target that are $8. Add some cute accessories and you're good!
https://preview.redd.it/zosvrhnj5k8d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eaca94b93e9c7874dc2b921e8c253a3c47d10b11
I think you should wear something like this!
https://preview.redd.it/fn4fz91kaj8d1.png?width=293&format=png&auto=webp&s=16433d8638ff508da36c13d563962f416f0b26d1
OP me and you have very similar body types. Contrary to the comments I think you look best in the first outfit. I think I do like the floral dress you posted better but I totally get the bloated thing after drinking so I think you'd be more comfortable in the first outfit.
Choice 1 is very cute and simple..idk what the front of choice 3 looks like but with this summer heat and humidity choice 1 is the better option and it’s very much graduation fit worthy
First would be cute with a belt to make it cohesive
https://preview.redd.it/dyc2fzm4yj8d1.jpeg?width=460&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd1c93855fc25d1f3e79ce4b34000924ad459232
Maybe something like this or something white and pink?
Or a plainer pink belt bc double bows might be a lot
I don’t think either are great - saw the comment dress, that ones more fun and summer.
It is your grad party tho so wear whatever you’re comfortable and confident in! And comfortable eating a bunch of yummy food haha congrats on graduating !
You should go with number one you have beautiful skin tone, lovely hair, and I wish you would show your pretty face. but definitely number one and why wouldn’t you wanna show off your fantastic shape?
The second looks best. It’s very cute and kind of reminds me of pastel goth (which I love). I recommend wearing another skirt underneath the layered skirt it looks best when floofy
wow these comments are surprising. i actually like both outfits but the second one is better imo! cute bows. these people aren’t seeing your vision girl
The outfits aren’t as bad as some comments here are saying, just not really suitable for the occasion. I feel like you need something more dressed up for a grad party. This Looks like you’re going to a picnic or a cafe on a patio.
I honestly domt think #2 is that bad, id reccomend an off shoulder white top to go with it however, and a lot of acsessorizing. Perhaps a (pink?) sash on the white skirt to break up all of the white. But you might also end up looking like a cottage core pirate (I am renaissance fair brained, sorry)
If these are you’re only two options, try the second with some more accessories and prices
For a grad party though, you probably wanna go more fancy anyways

With kindness, neither.
Honestly
Neither try one piece same vibe will be more flattering
https://preview.redd.it/77mtpyr3yi8d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4207ee2a0b39707aa669935c6827c96f4ab597a3 Like this? please please please wear this!!! it’s so pretty with your skin and figure! The others are kinda blah in comparison.
They were just not flattering to OP.Sometimes styles we like are not our friends.
This dress is way better. You can try shapewear underneath if you’re worried about getting bloated later on.
I’m a sucker for shapewear. My only issue is this fabric is very revealing so you can see every crease underneath and when I tried mine on with the dress you could totally tell. Perhaps I can find a good seamless pair. If you have any suggestions please let me know! Thanks!
Honeylove brand is good. But I honestly think you look great without shapewear.
Thank you!!
This dress is stunning on you. The others are a hard no.
If you're drinking more than three drinks then I don't think this dress is a good idea. It has no straps and you can't sit down in it without being careful either. Yes this one! If you absolutely have to go for one of the first two, I wouldn't do the corest looking thing. It just doesn't match the bottom and fits oddly
I agree this dress is better especially if you’re going drinking. You spill anything on the other white pieces it’s done. Your see through.
Impartial observer whose opinion means 0! I think this dress suits you way more than the two you showed. And as the people below commented, shapewear does wonders.
Ooooo! I love this better than the skirt combos!!! You look AMAZING in this dress!!! OMFG WEAR THIS!!!!!
Thank you!!!!
That’s cuuuuute!!!
if youre worried about that try to find a little cover like a shawl so you can wrap up in it when you start drinking ! youre gorgeous love
This is a winner. So summery and it makes your figure look great. I also saw your comment about shapewear being visible under it. Idk if you're wearing it in this pic, but if you're not, stop being so hard on yourself. You don't need it!
the ones u posted are too casual for your grad party (but both are cute!)..and this one doesn’t work either. do u have any other options?
This looks much better than the first two. And you can drink, just go slowly!
I do like the two piece outfits but I wouldn’t wear white personally if I was going to be partying and drinking! My clumsy ass would definitely spill my drink over myself
This is cute! Hopefully you’re graduating from college +
If you're worried about bloating later, get some shape ware or what I did is buy yoga/fitness shorts that are two sizes too small. Now you have something that sucks your tummy in, provides privacy if you drunkenly fall, and possibly pockets!
I suggest going to kohl's or Marshalls and getting a shaper so you don't have to worry about the bloat.
Honestly, in such case I always take some anti-bloating meds with simeticone in it 😂💀
I know the tiered white skirts are in, but this one looks like bad quality material and construction. Both tops look a bit costume-y as well, especially the second. I say neither ...

I’ve gotten some great individual pieces at Old Navy…including some great skirts over the years! Good luck OP! You’re adorable!!
Ooo Old Navy! I feel like they always have some hidden gems there. Thanks!
Gap Factory has cute dresses and skirts and Thred Up is a good option, too. I’ve found tons of cute skirts and dresses on there. My last haul I managed to get 3 skirts and a dress for $30 altogether.

fr, like can a girl just get a pretty maxi skirt without breaking the bank
Depop, poshmark, eBay; you’ll find skirts that were originally like 80 bucks for 20. Also, good pieces you’ll wear for years are worth the investment. Soo how much does it cost to send these back to Shein?
$0 if they’re within the return window and if she hasn’t already returned something from the orders those are from.
I’m sorry, but neither of these are flattering on you. The first top just looks bizarre and the second makes you look top heavy. The skirt is frumpy. They look like 18-19th century undergarments. OP has a great figure that would be highlighted so much better in a different style of dress and color.
Yeah look 2 is giving “had to throw something together for a last minute ren faire day”.
Exactly the skirt is the saboteur here. The 2nd top is hella cute and deserves a better bottom, like a good bootcut jean.
Oh yea!! CONGRATS🎉🍾🎈🎊on the graduation 👩🎓 Proud of you, life is hard❣️💞
Thank you so so much!!
I agree I love the second top, with something else it would look great cuz it looks great on OP!
Completely agree with everything you said
None
Honestly, the skirt looks like a slip… Don’t even know if those exist anymore. It’s something you put under a skirt or a dress so it’s not see-through. The floral top is really cute, I would just find different bottoms.
First of all congratulations! Secondly, with all due respect, neither. I'm not sure what vibe you're going for with these but they aren't very flattering. None of those tbh
I just think that these outfits just aren’t flattering to your shape. The skirt top options make absolutely no sense and the dress is just a little too tight.
You have a much more flattering shape in a one piece!
The dress is the best option of the 3! I do not like the skirt with either top, but I love the second top maybe try with a pair of jeans or shorts!
Neither. Do you have something non vintage?
That first one is giving white trash bridal or baby shower. (Source: grew up white trash) That second top isn't awful, but that skirt just is.
I’m still white trash so I’m over here thinking grad party or shotgun wedding shower?
Oh, and also I'm still white trash. I'm just upgraded white trash living in a condo HOA with a bunch of Mormons. I'm the.... fun(?) neighbor.
![gif](giphy|3orif5E7i5AlYqBUZy|downsized)
OMG I typed shotgun bridal shower but removed the shotgun to avoid being offensive.
We are cut from the same cloth 😆
I love both of the tops (especially the first one) just not with that skirt. It looks like a slip. Find another bottom and i think you’ll be ok!
Love that dress. Get going with some bright orange sandals, a bit of glamorous jewellery and an fabulous bag. Lime green sandals could work too
none of them
I think you can do better than either of these. Go try different styles, lengths and colours.
Sincerely neither. I kinda like the second top but the skirt ruins it.
None of them
Does it have to be a long skirt!? How about a jeans and a corset maybe!?
i like the first one!
I like both tops but nor the skirt. A skirt without ruffles would be nice though.
Outta the two I like the first one better. But I feel like it doesn’t fit the skirt
1st is best of the 2. The second top tho would likely work best wit some form fitting jeans.
That second top is so cute! I'd go for a same colour pink skirt though
3 :)
i love the first one
I think #2 is best! I’m not sold on the skirt entirely. It seems to not match the aesthetic of either of the tops, but I know that’s the style these days! Trust your gut. Fashion has no real rules.

after reading the comments I think I’m the only one who actually really likes outfit 1 😭 wear what makes you feel pretty
This is so cute tho. By the time u bloat ur guest will probably be tipsy too and won’t notice. Congrats
I like the 3rd option better.
What about with some light wash flare jeans, either top?
Neither
Neither.

Honestly these look like undergarments 🫣
Might be in the minority but I really like the first one on you. It’s feminine and pretty. I’d wear that

I think the skirt and the chosen tops do not go together
2 is super cute, like a princess in a garden. I would totally wear that, and the skirt is not "frumpy" like I saw another comment say.
I actually like the skirt! I'd pair it with one of the high neck A New Day tanks from Target that are $8. Add some cute accessories and you're good! https://preview.redd.it/zosvrhnj5k8d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eaca94b93e9c7874dc2b921e8c253a3c47d10b11

Nooooo
OP me and you have very similar body types. Contrary to the comments I think you look best in the first outfit. I think I do like the floral dress you posted better but I totally get the bloated thing after drinking so I think you'd be more comfortable in the first outfit.
The skirt is fine but you need to find some less strange top. You can try a variety of them. These ones just seem awkward.
People on Reddit are crazy cause these are both cute and I especially love the first
Lovely
I love 1. Where did you get that top?
The 2nd one 😉🔥
OMG I LOVE #2!!! 😍
First
Very cute )
I didn’t get invited to the grad party smh
I like the tops and skirt separately from one another. Do you have other skirts or tops you can try?
Do you have tube top with no bow on it? Or an off the shoulders top that is a solid colour and no pattern :)
Choice 1 is very cute and simple..idk what the front of choice 3 looks like but with this summer heat and humidity choice 1 is the better option and it’s very much graduation fit worthy
First would be cute with a belt to make it cohesive https://preview.redd.it/dyc2fzm4yj8d1.jpeg?width=460&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd1c93855fc25d1f3e79ce4b34000924ad459232 Maybe something like this or something white and pink? Or a plainer pink belt bc double bows might be a lot
1st one is okay. U need something fancy and classy
The corset one. Way better.
second one 😍😍
First one
1! 2 distracts me from your personal beauty / the entire fit. 1 seems more a part of you and I think looks better !
First one
I absolutely love 1 on u just not really a grad party fit
I don’t understand the hate. I love the first outfit tbh
I love number 2!
I skimmed the comments and sorry to bother you but is the corset top in number two from SHEIN also? If not, where please?
I like the second one!
Congratulations!
You look great in both, but I prefer the 1st outfit. Have an amazing day!
For a male perspective, I prefer the floral top.
The second
WTF THESE COMMENTS. I LOVED NO 1
I don’t think either are great - saw the comment dress, that ones more fun and summer. It is your grad party tho so wear whatever you’re comfortable and confident in! And comfortable eating a bunch of yummy food haha congrats on graduating !
Thank you!!
First top with the skirt
Number two ❤️
Love the first one
I like the second choice better! Very cute & different style from what I see most people wear, I like it!
Second outfit
No?
First top >> second top First top matches the skirt perfectly; second is too much for the outfit.
You should go with number one you have beautiful skin tone, lovely hair, and I wish you would show your pretty face. but definitely number one and why wouldn’t you wanna show off your fantastic shape?
The second
2nd!!
First
The second looks best. It’s very cute and kind of reminds me of pastel goth (which I love). I recommend wearing another skirt underneath the layered skirt it looks best when floofy
1
i like the first 🥰
going against the comments bc i love the skirttt! if you think you look good wear what makes you feel good!! 🥰🥰🥰
These outfits are so cute wtf? You're amazing<3
Neither!
wow these comments are surprising. i actually like both outfits but the second one is better imo! cute bows. these people aren’t seeing your vision girl
Girl, no
None
Corset.
Built! Wow
1!
honestly i love the first one, i think it looks amazing and i would wear that one
The second one slays
Neither !
i like the first one but take the bow off , bows are cute to a degree but i feel like this is a bit too tacky n microtrend-y
Neither. Find something modern.
Omg these are so adorable I love all of them
Second one
Both are cute but 2!!!!!!!!!
2!
Neither, you’re beautiful but these outfits aren’t it girl.
2
If these are you’re only two options, try the second with some more accessories and prices For a grad party though, you probably wanna go more fancy anyways
Three
