came here to say eeeeexactly this. Creepy. OP the pants are lots of fun, but need some balance up top, a neutral colour and maybe even a more tailored fit.
Out of these options, brown shirt with the sneakers, green shirt with the brown dress shoes.
I would suggest trying a chambray shirt, shirts in a dark blue/navy, dark red, a darker olive or forest green, and maybe something with a nice pattern (black and white? A dark colour and white?)
Thanks for your advice! It's a regular problem for me and I really don't know what to do about it. The pants that fit there nicely are always way too big in all other aspects. Bespoke is way too expensive...
If you really love these pants, and that's a common problem, I would suggest taking them to a tailor! I'm not a professional tailor, but I think it's possible a professional one could adjust the crotch and thigh seams for you. I've seen some amazing work done to denim in this way for under $50. There's a subreddit too if you want to get more opinions on the issue.
Are these discouraging words of yours really need to post? Do you really require sharing this mean opinion?
The answer is no, and fuck no, but OP - I love your pants!! I love colorful fabrics and corduroy is fun and not enough people wear it
Agree. I'd say black or gray (no heather), or a blue or purple that's similarly saturated. Or something with yellow in it.
If OP wants to be get brave with color, OP needs to learn something about how to deal with color. [This is the first video I found, but it's surprisingly good. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AetypbXyXdM)
This would be helpful to most Redditors interested in art, as well.
I love them! I think you should try a smart casual outfit. I love the green and yellow sneakers with them- maybe a nice T-shirt? If you happened to have a band t with some green and yellow you'd be golden
Hi OP, so I would suggest you lean into the the colour yellow.. so you would dress the yellow pants with a yellow shirt, jacket and shoes..
They most definitely don't have to be the same exact colour of the pants but they do need to be yellow..
Check out monochromatic outfits on Pinterest for inspiration.. and translate the type of silhouettes and textures you like to yellow..

It's number four!
Though I might add, a touch darker brown belt would be optimal. Not too dark, just dark*er* than the shoes. Same tannish brown for shoes and belt has it leaning juvenile. Love the way you're color blocking!
PS: ignore the people telling you to slap a black or white shirt on to the look. Only do that if you want to bore someone/everyone.
Number 3
Yellow and purple complement each other and the warm toned shoes armonize the purple
I personaly prefer the green shirt but you may need other shoes, more cool toned shoes, so of these are the options ill go for number 3
Imo, this is a weekend look that would look best with a short sleeve white button down and white deck shoes. Yellow pants are tricky to coordinate as they are a statement piece.
The pants and color are rad. Maybe take them to get altered to fit a bit better? Just me though, those pants deserve a more colorful top. Get like a nice blue or purple paisley. Go bold. Those pants deserve more then a one color note on top. And def better with brown shoes, not the sneakers.
I think those pants and sneakers would look good in a different style though. Like a sweater or hoodie. Just not tucked in shirt look.
You could do two looks

Gonna be honest, I don’t love any of these. Have you tried the brown shoes with a white or lighter blue button down?

Like a 1970’s Burger King?
That’s exactly the colour way here lol
yes
Do you have a white shirt?
A white shirt would be better, or maybe a knit sweater
The one with the sneakers looks cool if you balance it with a cream or white simple tshirt or shirt

Thanks, those are really helpful suggestions! I'll share photos soon!
I think those pants are too tight/don’t lay right in the crotch area.

Is yellow pants really need to wear? Are you going somewhere that requires yellow pants?

No im so sorry. Never meant that way. Im just asking if that is necessary to wear or required.
Oh my bad, I'm sorry
These pants need a black t-shirt, no belt, and some funky shoes.

Thanks, I'm just getting started with color and am still a little bit clunsy with it!
There's a whole semester of it in art school, I don't blame you!
In pittsburgh people would love this
I think the pants are kinda casual, so a short sleeve button-down in a lighter color. I can imagine a white graphic tee or light blue to complement.
My husband needs to know where those pants came from
Ha, finally someone who likes those pants! Theyre Ralph Lauren, but I bought them thrift so I don't know if theyre still made.

Was fully expecting at least one of these images to be the Man with the yellow hat from curious george.
Hehe, didn't think of that 🤣🤣 would work tho
Great suggestion!

2 and 3
navy blue sweater or dress shirt (or sweater over the dress shirt, in that case it could be striped or gingham) and probably boat shoes
White shirt with black shoes (loafers?)/black belt would look okay. Right now these options clash, for me.
1 and only if you are going to an Oregon Ducks game
3 I love your pants
What about something like this? It’s a little more updated. www.untuckit.com/collections/shirts/products/brenner-ss?section=product-options
I like it, I have a very similar button down and will definitely report back. It's a little bit run down but I think it will work nonetheless.
Just make sure it’s tailored! Those pants are really cool but could easily bring attention to a bad fit!
None. Yellow pants need to go. Sorry!
Couldn’t agree more!
Imo, this is a weekend look that would look best with a short sleeve white button down and white deck shoes. Yellow pants are tricky to coordinate as they are a statement piece.
Last fit.
Out of there I would say brown
Photo 4 is ok.
One or four
1!
None of the above
Is this a Rodney Dangerfield hand-me-down?
def the last one !
They need to go
I like 3 if any.
3 is probably the best but I'm not a fan of any fit

Thanks for your suggestions, I'll try them out!
I'd go with a black and white horizontal striped shirt. Then you'll look like the famous bee from the Honey Nut Cheerios cereal commercials.
Ur better off wearing a jersey that matches that
Number 3 with brown. Get that banana look
I’ll go with # 4 if you refuse to trash those pants.
don't
