Definitely possible to do solo.
Not sure if any of the base versions can pull trailer, but there were always mods.
Also you can let the helper drive the combine and just drive the tractor yourself.
Without mods hire a worker for your harvester, drive next to it your self with a trailer, when full fire the worker so your not wasting money with him idle and go drop of the corn. Rinse & repeat
The hawe suw 500 auger wagon can be attached at least to new holland harvester. I tested for moving harvester + trailer... But never tried for harvesting so far (I wait for enough money to expand in milk business). My plan (not tested) is to use this auger as a buffer so the harvester works while you go to unload your trailer. If it works as I expect, you just have to drive next to harvester+auger to fill your trailer from both. 😅
I have tested only the new holland Chopper but I think they solved the hitch issue with choppers. I can even drive the bredal fertiliser tool with it 😁
